Motive's in-cabin verbal mentoring is phenomenal, it helps the driver to be reminded of what they should be focused on whilst driving. Love the innovation of the dual cameras that captures much more events than the competition, close following and in cab distraction among some of the best feature sets. I can't create more than one customized vehicle inspection that will be visible on the driver app, I have to create a separate Document for an additional customized vehicle inspection. Customer Support has been terrible to date, we are a more experienced customer to Telematics and therefore when we need support we require engineering level support. The customer onboarding team is grossly uneducated on what the product is, which does not lend to a good customer experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The intuitive dashboard, simple hardware, only had two cables, one to the gateway and one to the camera. Customer support is fast and most of the time can answer any questions. They will take your feedback and improve the product. Integration was tough but relatively easy to swap out the old SmartDrive/Omnitracs with Motive. Definitely easier to take out equipment if you need to swap trucks going forward. I use Motive almost every day even the weekends because the ease of access and I am able to pull up a lot of information from the website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lack of data was a nightmare; we made the mistake we could do tablets at 500mb/month on the motive hotspots but you need the truck running and all the data got used up. Defenitily start with unlimited data on verizon for example. Can be difficult communicating to foreign support guys. Samsara support is 90% based in America, whilst it is only 30% for Motive. I have been using Motive for a while and as a Safety manager in trucking it made my job easier. Motive has faetures for a better safety managemant and it's very useful if you want to improve your company Safety score. It shows details as disconnects, violations and it has many coaching events. I find only two negative things on Motive. First, on the Settings (grey) dashboard, when selecting the "Drivers" section, it doesn’t allow you to select drivers by name. Instead, they appear mixed up, which makes it a bit difficult to organize and manage them quickly. This could use some improvement for better efficiency. Second, I find that Motive doesn’t offer training courses for drivers. While there are some great resources available for fleet managers, as a Safety Manager, it’s challenging for me to explain my perspective on the driver app to the drivers without more targeted training options. It would be great if Motive could consider adding some driver-specific courses within the app to help improve understanding and compliance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Motive is by far the most superior ELD system out of all the systems I have used in the past to regulate company drivers. With AI capabilities, machine learning and analytical systems make reporting and evaluating drivers easy.
When issues arise you can reach out to their support team and have a response within minutes.
The systems are constantly evolving with new capabilities on the horizon.
This is a system that is used everyday in my position. Highly recommend Motive to anyone in the trucking and logistics industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not necessarily anything I dislike about Motive, but they are expanding capabilities that are slowly getting better as time goes on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We love using Motive! The discount on our Progressive insurance is a huge plus. The dash cams give us peace of mind by ensuring our drivers are safe and responsible. The platform itself is user-friendly and helps us manage many of our daily tasks efficiently. Highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Motive has some great features, but one of the biggest issues we’ve had is with inaccurate speed limits. A lot of them aren’t updated, so it frequently flags our drivers for speeding when they’re not. Another frustration is the "following too closely" alerts—it often triggers even when the driver is safely passing in a different lane. These false alerts can be annoying and make it harder to focus on real safety concerns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy it is to use the Motive website. The website is easy to navigate and has so much information available on each truck. I have really found the section for codes to be very helpful this winter. Also, I have been able to locate drivers when they were out of cell service as well as verify hours of drive time. There are many other features that I have found useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't really find anything unhelpful about Motive. The only downside to using Motive that I have found is that I tend to watch it more than I should. That could be a good thing or bad thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Motive is user friendly, for both drivers and dispatchers, customer service is available 24/7 and it's not an automated number! You get to talk to a real person. What I really like is that I have my own service rep that helps me whenever I need to order items, if I have a random question or he just calls to check in some times!! I would recommend Motive 100%
The driver platform is very easy for my drivers to navigate and I hardly ever get any complaints from them. Training for new drivers typically takes 1 day, yes 1 day! It's that simple. Also, they are always adding new features and asking my opinion. I truly find that out of all of the trucking platforms, Motive is by far the best that I have used !! I don't have much to dislike about Motive, however, if I could change anything, it would be that information about past trips would stay in the cloud longer than 1 year. I'd like to see that changed to 5+ years, even if we had to pay more for our subscription I believe this could prove to help companies such as mine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customer service for Motive is responsive and careful. We've been with Motive for 4 years now, and navigating the system as it has developed has been interesting, but at least we know that they are always trying to make improvements. The address for where our trucks are at is an awesome feature, and I've found it very easy to find our trucks wherever they may be in the US and Canada. When hooking the ELD to the truck, the directions were very simple and easy to follow. This tool is imperative for our operations team. Even our people in accounting use their access to check drive history and to make sure our guys don't miss out on breakdown pay, which our guys neglect filling out paperwork. It seems extremely accurate. Management and accounting use Motive several times a day. We would be crippled without this tool and I don't know how we ran without it. Sometimes I miss the deadline for when to request a video. One more day might be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Motive is easy to use and get set up in your vehicles. I was not oversold during my sales experience, which most companies tend to do. Motive helps me verify driving behavior, and can also provide customers with proof of service if needed. I use it daily for my business. Allows my drives to be rewarded and held accountable for their driving. Our at fault accidents have almost disappeared since we implemented the AI dual facing dashcams. Overall its a good product and the price is competitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tracking software isn't as reliable as I would like. One some occasions I have to use the request video feature to see a more accurate representation of the tracking on a map. Not always, but sometimes. I have reported this issue to Motive in the past. It has not been resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are many aspects of Motive that I like. The best part of Motive is the software is easy, if you need to review driver logs for HOS or events it is so simple. Keeping the drivers informed is important and Motive makes this easy as well. The management and reporting side of the application are very nice and easy to use, from the driver aspect the app just works based on the settings that the company sets. There is a report for just about any amount of knowledge you want to glean from the app and there is just about any integration you could hope for. This application is continuously evolving to make things better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes we do have issues that require higher levels of support and those issues can sit in the development black hole for a while. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
