The Balearic Islands will be moved from the Government's green travel list to amber, just two weeks after being placed in the low-risk category.

The islands - which includes Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca - are among the latest updates to the green, amber and red travel lists.

It was announced on Wednesday (July 14) that a number of countries would be changing places from 4am on Monday, July 19 following the latest Government review.

The Spanish islands were moved from amber to green at the end of June, but cases have soared in the region in the last two weeks.

The changes mean that anyone arriving in England from the new amber countries from 4am on July 19 will need to follow new rules around any potential quarantine.

Changes to the UK's rules on foreign travel have been announced so now is the time to book your next break away.

As usual, the announcement impacts a number of destinations that can be flown to from both Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport, including popular holiday spots.

From July 19 those who are not double-jabbed or under 18 will have to quarantine upon returning to England from an amber list country.

Bulgaria and Hong Kong will both move from the amber list onto the green list, meaning no quarantine when arriving back into England.

Croatia and Taiwan will move from the amber list onto the green watchlist, meaning they are still at risk of moving back down into amber.

Visitors to green list countries will not to quarantine on their arrival back in England, unless you test positive for coronavirus. However, some countries on the green list might have their own restrictions on entering.

Anyone planning on visiting a green list destination should check travel advice and the individual countries entry requirements prior to booking.

Below are the full green, amber and red lists as they will be from Monday, July 19.

Red list

Only British or Irish citizens, or those with residency rights, will be able to enter England if arriving from a red list country or if they have been to one of those places in the 10 days before arriving.

Anyone who is permitted to enter the country must quarantine in an approved hotel for 10 days. The hotel package must be booked before setting off for England and you have to have a negative Covid test done in the three days before departing. You also have to fill out a passenger locator form before departing.

Two further tests are required on day two and day eight of quarantine in England.
