After reading the first book i wanted to finish the series to know about cinder. Not about all the other chatacters that are introduced in each book. Is Cinder still a main character? Should i keep reading?

Could these books be read separately without missing anything important or do I necessarily have to read them all to get the entire picture, in their chronological order even?

Therese Andersson I'd say you should read them all, and in order - I agree that the second book is the least fun, but it does contain some essential information (there …moreI'd say you should read them all, and in order - I agree that the second book is the least fun, but it does contain some essential information (there are minor explanations in Cress, but still...)
And it introduces characters that will continue into Cress - most notebly Carswell Thorne - whom I would not want to miss one second of. I've just re-read them and I would say that the issue with Scarlet is that not enough stuff happens in it, it takes place during something like a week and there is a bit to much filler to get a full book (in my opinion) - it's a quick read thou.
Fairiest could be skipped if you want, the things important to the rest of the story are in the "regular" books - It's for those of us who can't get enough Levana and/or background(less)
