Campus Stallions #1

All Your Fault

Rate this book
If Adalee Summers thought walking across campus at night was safe, she was wrong.

Being a collegiate gymnast requires years of training and this year, her goal was to stay focused on winning the SEC All Around Title until she saw him across the room—the baseball transfer.

His easy swagger, full head of dark hair and his laugh is a lightning bolt to the heart. He makes her thighs clench, her stomach flutter and in one night her dreams collapsed on a sidewalk not far from home.

She’s kept a lock and chain on her heart as well as her baby making parts, because she's never been loved, not even by her father.

But will the dimpled baseball player convince her, he's different and worth a chance, when everything she sees has player written all over it?

Hagan Chatham never thought in a million years thought he could break his own heart.

A new college, a new team was exactly what he needed after his girlfriend decided to have sex with another guy. But the Bluegrass State is swarming with eager, gorgeous women, ready to relieve him of his depressing thoughts. But there's one beautiful, petite girl that catches his eye immediately.

And wow, she's stubborn. He can't even get a smile from the brown-eyed beauty. He doesn't understand why she hates him. They've barely spoken and when they do she busts his balls. But maybe she's worth the wait—the fight—the frustration. The more she tests him the quicker he falls.

He can handle anything she throws his way but shatters his own heart while trying to mend hers.

Sometimes loving someone means letting them go.

UPDATE: I listened to the audiobook also. See review of narrators below orginal review.

If you are a fan of the Sarasota Sharks series (though it’s find if you haven’t read it) you will love this book by author Kristin Lee. We were introduced to Hagan in Book 3 of the Sarasota Sharts: Scoring The Boss. Hagan as moved to Kentucky for college and baseball and to escape his memories of his ex. When Hagan meets Adalee his ex is the last thing on his mind. This is proven when he says “she looks good enough to marry.” Adalee is immediately attracted to Hagan but after breaking up with her jerk of an ex boyfriend she has sworn off relationships with other athletes. After an injury which put her gymnastics competitions in jeopardy she is even more determined to hate Hagan.

This is a great from enemies to friends romance. You want to see Hagan get passed all the walls Adalee has put up to keep from falling for him. She doesn’t need another male in her life to disappoint her. I enjoyed getting to see Hagan family we met in Scoring the Boss again. In addition to this slow burn of a love story we get to know other friends and family of Hagan and Adalee. As with life things happen which can really put life in perspective. This scenes really pull at your heart and May having you wipe away some tears. Great character development though out the book. The characters are relatable and realistic: some you love, some you will love to hate.

Listening to the audiobook was a great way to experience this book. Allie Piper has a sweet young voice of Adalee and Michael Gallagher captures the confidence Hagan has as a college aged man and a great baseball player. They did a great job captureing Hagen's and Adalee's personalities and the pain and ansty they both experiences both as individuals and as a couple. This was an emotional read will reading the e-book, but listening to this definely brought on the tears so you might want to listen with a box of tissue. If you life to listen to steamy, sweet, emotional romances this is a book for you.

Great book I recommend to fans of the following tropes…

Sports romance
She’s a gymnast
He plays baseball
She’s a grump (at least at first)
He’s sunshine
Found family
Moved to a new town
Plot twist
Spicy
Friends to Enemies

I read an Advanced Reader’s copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I have not been influenced by anyone.

Loved this audiobook! I read the second book in this series and loved it. I was happy to see them released on audio. This has a moderate spice level. One of those that people who aren’t used to reading spice will think it’s super spicy but then those who are used to reading a ton of it won’t think it’s very spicy. The narrators were perfect for the characters.

This is a fun book with both the main characters being good people. The MMC is a nice guy who falls first, the MFC is a virgin. She has a guarded heart and some past issues and he was raised in an amazing, close family. Instant attraction.

5/5

I received this from Kristin Lee, and Hype Girls PA in exchange for my honest opinion.

Adalee is a character I can relate to. She is jaded from her past, and has a tough outer shell. She also didn’t have the best luck when it came to men, lastly being her ex boyfriend Chaz. After an awful experience, she swears off guys, especially baseball players.

Hagen is a new transfer to the University of Kentucky, and their baseball team. Hagen had to get away from his cheating ex girlfriend, and he found his home at KU the moment he stepped on the field.

I love how Kristin introduces characters, you don’t realize you want to see more of until you do. Of you read her Sarasota Sharks series, you’ll recognize some of the characters. Kristin writes characters that steal my heart every time.

We normally see grumpy male characters, but I throughly enjoyed a grumpy fmc. Hagen was such a sweetheart, and had my heart from the start.

Includes
- college sport’s romance
- Grumpy fmc
- Cinnamon roll mmc
- Spicy
- Found family
- He falls first
- spin off series

great baseball romance

I have now read all three books currently published in this series, and let me just say, I love how hard each of Kristin’s MMCs falls. As is my toxic trait, I read this out of order, so I already knew Hagan and Adalee end up madly in love, but I still really enjoyed going back and finding out how they got there.

Hagan is instantly drawn to Adalee when he first sees her, but she has sworn off athletes after being burned by her ex, who is also on the baseball team. But Hagan reminds himself “love is patient,” and he chips away at Adalee’s walls little by little. Things are going great and then holy plot twist! You kind of have to go in blind on that part, but it makes their hea all the better.

I loved these two together and how each refused to give up on the other when one tried to push away. Hagan’s family is the best and I definitely have to go back and read their books. I laughed, and I swooned, and I got a little teared up at times. This is a great series, and I can’t wait for book 4 in the fall!

baseball and love

Okay so I am a big baseball fan and love romance books set around it. I am not a big fan of college romance stories… just gives an ick factor off. But how could I not read a book about my favorite college team… Kentucky! So I gave it a shot.
The story is so good and I couldn’t put the ARC down… I might have reached out to the author and asked for the copy because I needed a spring break read. And I was granted the copy but I also reread the KU version.
I would highly suggest the book to you. I like the unexpected twist… that you don’t see coming. It is a sweet read without a lot of ick factor. I look forward to the future.

Word of advice… you don’t have to read the other books from the author about baseball but I would recommend it because the characters come up. I didn’t read the other books and felt like I was jumping into a series… but not a series. It was like picking up a classic Jude Deveraux and not knowing how that Taggert or that Montgomery fit into the storyline.

5+ stars!

This is only my second book by this author…I read them completely out of order because I read book one of the Sarasota Sharks series and had been heart broken so I had to take a break from that series. So I decided I’d read this one because it seemed less damaging. And it definitely was.

This one warmed my heart and dethawed the deepest parts of me that I didn’t even know were frozen. Hagan and Adalee were UH-MA-ZING! I loved how immediately taken Hagan was with Adalee and how he pursued her proving to her he was one of the good guys and she deserved to be love. Not to mention I FREAKING LOVED their slogans and the evolution of them. Going from like you, to love you, to love you long time, to love you for life, to love you longer than life, to love you forever. Plus Hagan was so romantic and he wanted to get married and have a family but at the same time was athletic and hot and a little cocky. I mean common that’s not just the full package that killer. I loved Adalee too she was so strong and it was great watching her grow and realize opening up and expressing yourself and being vulnerable doesn’t make you weak because that is something I really struggle with.

I also LOVED Joe and Ginger even tho they were side characters their love story was freaking adorable and I loved seeing them. I totally would not mind a novella about them…wink wink. I also fell in love with Logan on all fronts. I mean I loved his platonic relationship with Adalee they were super cute. I loved how good he was to and for Hagan. He let him have his space but he also pushed him. I loved that he played matchmaker. I loved how he was a cocky jokester but then serious and caring when it mattered. I have a soft spot for guys like that. I loved his reaction to seeing you know who. Also I really loved Harper as a character she is such a good sister and friend but also sassy and snarky which is always fun. She’s super relatable for me because I also get bad anxiety so I could relate to her a lot. So I can’t wait for their book already!

I loved the Chatham family too! Like when I say my deepest desire is too have a family. This is what I mean I’d have killed for that as a kid and I still would. I hope that this is the kind of family that I can create and/or find in the future. They way they are always there for eachother, so supporting, and understanding and welcoming, and they are all so close. They just listen and get eachother. I love that and it was great to see. Hagan and Harpers relationship was extra special with their twin thing which was really sweet.

More things I loved were the dual POV of course if you know me you know that I prefer that a thousand times over. It’s great getting to see what each of them is thinking while it’s happening and not having to wonder. Plus this way it feels more developed because the characters feel more intimate as you know and are invested in both separately and together. I loved the sports aspect both the baseball, football, and gymnastics. As a sport lover it was super cool to see this all kinda combine. Like they played college baseball but went to Kodiak games and college football games plus Adalee was a gymnast which was awesome. I love when the girl is also and athlete and it’s so hard to find books like that. This can’t have been more than the fifth I’ve read like that and definitely the first where she was a gymnast. And I love gymnastics so that was awesome.

The things that I didn’t love were Adalees dad he was an ahole and suddenly they just patched things up which was weird but whatever things like that happen and at the end of the day they’re family. And I also wish there were more gymnastics. But other than that I loved everything and these things did not hinder or bring down my enjoyment of this book at all.

It’s definitely going on my list as one of my all time faves and maybe even on the short list of books I reread! I’d definitely pick this one up and any others by this author. From what I can tell she delivers grade A sports romances every time!

First off...I am super excited that this is a series! Book one starts off with Adalee and Hagan's story. But not only did I get invested in he main characters....there are quite a few side characters that I am looking forward to reading more about!
This was a really cute but emotional sports romance where Adalee ( a gymnast) swears off all jocks after dating her last college boyfriend. She meets Hagan, who is a new transfer baseball player but she has heard that he has already made quite the reputation with the girls. She tries her best to push Hagan away but slowly Hagan starts making his way into her heart. This book was such a good reminder that we shouldn't judge people just on what we have heard others say about
them.
I liked that both characters have dealt with issues in their past and they have to work it out within their relationship.
This book seemed very realistic and relatable and allowed the characters to grow throughout the book.

DNF 46%. Surprised I got that far. Worst writing ever. Not sure if the book was edited. There are countless typos and the writing feels more like a series of bullet points. They character thoughts are not fluid, but jump from one disconnected thought to the next. This feels more like a first or second draft, definitely not the final product. I am really confused by the reviews and rating, as the text is not representative of either. I get the sense that the reviews are written by supportive friends and family.

There is no substantial conflict, rather unmerited “conflict.” Quite frankly, this book is not worth anyone’s time, as the writer, did not put the time and effort into it to make it worth reading.

I LOVED this book. I loved Hagan's character and how he stood up for all the ones he loves, his relationship with his family, and his twin sister. I liked Adalee but didn't like how stubborn she was. Yes, she had passed issues with the people who were in her life, but Hagan is a good one. I really enjoyed the emotions in this book. The family closeness and the connections all of these characters have together. I can't wait for Logan and Harper's book. I'm definitely happy with how this book was written. It definitely had me emotional, and I loved how Hagan had a sensitive side and how when he loved, he loved hard. So glad he wasn't your typical cocky athlete. Ready for more.

All Your Fault by Kristin Lee is a new adult college aged romance where a collegiate gymnast runs into the transfer collegiate baseball player & their lives are never the same.

I am always excited when there is gymnastics in books because it’s so rare! So I was kind of bummed because I wanted the gymnastics part to be more central to the novel but that is entirely a me thing since I did gymnastics for over a decade & miss it.

Since it is a college romance, there is plenty of drama & it takes the reader on quite the emotional rollercoaster. Both of the main characters go on interesting journeys. I adore the sweetheart hero, Hagan & I loved his kind family so much. They were some of my favorite parts. This is the first book I’ve read by this author & this was a surprisingly steamy read.

If you are looking for a college aged, new adult sporty romance, then this would be a lovely pick for you!

Massive thanks to the author & Brey for the free arc, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

Awwwwwww!!! ‘All Your Fault’ is a spicy, sweet, slow burn romance with wonderful characters and a page-turning plot.
The main male character, Hagen, is probably one of the best book boyfriends I’ve read in a while. He’s smart, talented, a great friend, loyal, and sweet. The main female character, Adalee, is a sassy, strong, talented but vulnerable young woman, with a heart of gold. Adding to this lovable pair, are a whole slew of secondary characters that give that “Awwwww” factor an extra kick to the heart. There’s even hints of what’s coming in the next book in the series, and it looks to be a lot of fun! I really love that a lot of the secondary characters are featured in another series by this author that I’ll definitely be to checking out. There are intriguing hints to their stories but nothing’s really given away.
As a new-to-me author, I think I’ll be reading anything Kristin Lee has, and will be writing, for quite some time..

Loved this cute sports romance.

Hagan and Adalee have major chemistry from the beginning. Adalee has been burnt before by baseball players, and has never been loved by another person. She fights their chemistry until it’s almost too late. Can she overcome her issues with men so she can give Hagan the chance he deserves?

Female mc is a virgin, which isn’t a trope I’m into anymore. But it isn’t unbelievable for a romance with college aged characters. They do have some spicy scenes, but other scenes we glossed over. Their break up moment was kind of silly, but most are in this genre.

I loved the characters and their relationship with each other. I loved when she was being sassy with him, and he was still persistent. He falls first, but that’s just because she’s trying to resist the pull.

We are always told, "Don't judge a book by its cover", but this time it must be, "Don't believe everything you hear". Adalee was using her sight to believe what she was hearing and using her conclusions to blame Hagan for the accidents.
Thank goodness for pushy and supportive friends, as well as a family like the Chathams. These two have a bit of an uphill battle, but their mantra, "Longer than life", pushed me over the edge to happiness.
Kristin Lee has once again given me a book to sink my teeth into and almost wish I could go back to my youth and new beginnings and choices.
I received a copy from BookSirens and it is my pleasure to submit my honest and voluntary review.

Hagan & Adalee have chemistry from the very beginning, although it takes them a while to actually act on it and speak to each other.

They have both been hurt in the past, that doesn’t keep Hagan from pursuing Adalee, but it does have her pushing him away at every turn.

Adalee finally let’s Hagan in and I’m so glad she does!
From his boyish grin with that sinful dimple & collegiate athlete swagger, they bring the spice!

I absolutely loved the family dynamic in this book. Hagan is a family guy through and through with a huge heart. His family welcomes Adalee in right away and of course she’s a perfect fit.

What stood out most for my in this story is Hagans character. He’s just such a good guy so of course he made a great boyfriend. He has a strong relationship with his family and friends. He always does the right thing and is trying to help the people around him.

This college aged romance was a lot of fun to read. Adalee and Hagan share chemistry almost immediately, even though Adalee does everything in her power to fight it. Baseball players are bad news in her opinion, but could Hagan actually be different? I adored Hagan. He was so sweet, and he has good morals and values. Their story was heartwarming and emotional, and oh so good.

I found this author on Instagram and all her teasers just made me want to read this book so much! Then when I saw that it was on Audible!!! Yall I ran!

I’m beyond glad that I did! First off, Hagan has such a filthy mouth but man he is the sweetest most caring guy! I love that he falls first for her and boy does he fall hard.

Adalee is a spunky woman but I love that she eventually relents to Hagan!

10/10 recommend this college baseball romance!

This is the first book in Kristin’s new series Campus Stallions, which is a spin off series of the Sarasota Sharks!

I was so excited when I heard that Hagen was getting his own book! I adored him in Scoring and just couldn’t wait!

Although I enjoyed the book, there was just something missing that I couldn’t quite pinpoint. I think for me personally, it was missing a little more drama. Maybe Julia could have made an appearance or something with Chaz? When the drama did occur with Chaz, it was kind of just forgotten about. I also think that it would have been interesting to see Adalee doing more gymnastics. She got 2 injuries in the beginning of the book, which left her benched for majority of the novel. I think it would have been interesting to see how they navigated the double athlete couple dynamic when they were both competing.

I adored them as a couple and thought that it was the perfect amount of mild spice between them. I also loved that Arthur and Megan made several appearance as well as the rest of the family because I could not get enough of them in Scoring. My heart ached for Adalee when everything with her dad came to light and the way that Hagen is so understanding and caring really melted my heart.

Thank you Kristin for Hagen’s story and for my copy! I can not wait for Harper and Logan’s story, I think it’s going to be a home run 😉

Mini review:
•I loved these characters and getting to know Adalee and Hagan! He is so patient with her throughout the whole novel and they both push to be with each other. I can’t wait to read book two!

•I want a love like that. One that is so consuming that nothing else matters as long as we're together. The kiss Hagan and I shared tonight felt that way.

•"Don't be scared of loving me. Loving me is the safest thing you'll ever do."

•"Babe don't cry. It's all your fault we fell in love."

I want to wrap Adalee in a warm blanket and carry her in my pocket to keep her safe. She needs love and attention and support and, and, and…I could go on but I have a special place in my heart for Adalee!!
Hagan is what you want out of every book boyfriend! He falls first, he falls hard, golden retriever energy but a filthy mouth!
Hagan really helps Adalee grow and learn to love but he grow so much too! Watching him learn to care for her by watching his bothers was just *swoon*!

This love story was beautiful. I loved Hagan so much and he’s definitely a charmer and a sweetheart but he’s not just there physically for Adde but emotionally and in college that’s hard to find. Watching their story unfold was written so beautifully. Not too spicy and plot to keep you engaged. Great start to this new series!

I really enjoyed this story! It started off a little slow for my preference, but as soon as Adalee and Hagan began to talk it took off! Mostly importantly Hagan is now my book boyfriend so hands off! I am obsessed with his character and the way Lee writes his story. I loved that this book was not your typical grumpy sunshine trope and Adalee was more the grump while Hagan was the light of the story. I really enjoyed seeing how Adalee grew and let her walls come down as the story progressed. This was a well written, light hearted, fun read that I didn’t want to end! I also really enjoyed the found family both MCs obtained during this story both through all the friendships at the college and with Hagan and his amazing family. The way the characters in this book rallied around each other through good and bad was encouraging and gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings! Be sure to read this if you enjoy: sports romance, grumpy sunshine and found family stories! Also stay tuned for the sequel coming this fall! 💙⚾️

Found Family

I loved this book; almost a one day read. Hagan and Adalee are wonderful characters; both have past hurts they must work through. Because of this, they are slow to act despite their attraction and chemistry.

As college athletes, both have focus towards future goals, and Hagan is the new transfer who is on every female’s radar. Adalee does not want to be distracted by a quick thing, she needs to protect her heart.

If you read the Sarasota Sharks series, you will recognize names; if you haven’t, this reader recommends the series.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Maybe I read a different book? I don’t understand the high rates, this felt more like a draft or outlining, rather than a book.

Everything was so disconnected.

This is the 28% mark:

“But Hagan and I have a surreal connection. When he backed me up against the fridge, I saw the I’ll-take-control Hagan. “

What connection? This is called being horny luv.

They barely exchanged a few words, and if they did we don’t see it:

“We talk about class and the project on the short walk to his home. By the time we arrive, my leg is swelling.”

“Our project manager comes up an hour later to look at our progress. He gives us further instructions, and thirty minutes later, I’m dropping her off.”

Great conversation, I can really feel the chemistry. ❌

At this point the MMC is thinking about marrying the FMC and whatnot, but I don’t know why. As far as I’m aware, nothing really happened for them to fall in love LIKE THIS.

Anyway, it was bad.

The end.
