The sexy single dad next door is also my best friend’s brother.
And now I’m working for him by hanging out with his son for the summer.
It’s a good thing I’ve never been into grumpy men, because Simon Stone holds the record.

If I were smart, I’d have never taken the job for Simon. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and well, I’d have taken any job that distracted me from my personal life. Plus, it meant not going home to an empty house, and that was really all I ever wanted.

What I didn’t plan for, however, was for my attraction to Simon to grow. For his son to tell his football team that we were dating and for Simon to need me to go with it once his own mother found out. Or for Simon to kiss me one night in a dark bedroom, or for him to watch me through my bedroom window as I... well, I didn’t plan for a lot of things.

Most of all, I didn’t plan for how life would be at the end of the summer when I went back to my empty house and my lonely life. All it took was one summer for me to fall for Simon Stone, but as it seems, if I’m not careful, that might be all I ever get.

I enjoyed Simon and Greer's story so much!

Simon is a single dad and a writer on serious deadline. He is in desperate need of some help and that's where Greer comes in. She happens to be his next door neighbor making it super convenient. SHe is struggling with her personal life, feeling very lonely. It seems like the right choice for both of them. Simon gets help so he can meet his deadlines and Greer isn't alone all the time. However, their undeniable chemistry and connection makes things a bit more complicated than that. It was such a joy watching these two get to their happily ever after!

I love seeing glimpses of characters from the previous book. The secondary characters in this story are so fun. Simon's son Grey was one of my favorites! I loved every scene he was in. He meddled a little in their relationship and it was so cute!

This series is so much fun! I love watching this group of male authors finding their happily ever afters! I can't wait for Tobias' story coming this summer!

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

This was a low-angst book which was nice since I'd been reading a lot of them lately. I'm a sucker for a brother/best friend's sibling and single dad, so Simon was already up my alley. Simon is such a sweet dad and Grey is an amazing kid who really did light up all the scenes he was in.

The third-act breakup in this one at least made real world sense to me. Still could've been avoided if someone had just opened their damn mouths and talked to the other one, but at least it was true to life.

I'm still undecided if I should go back and read the other books or not. I met all the other characters and the women seem like they'd be a fun read, I'm not sure if this universe is for me (even though it's filled with sexy men who WRITE ROMANCE NOVELS!)

Simon needs help with his son Grey this summer, but he really can't hire his neighbor, who happens to be his sister's friend, can he? Not when she's the first woman to make him feel something since his wife passed away years ago. But Grey adores Greer, and Simon's determined to be the best dad he can be, and get his writing done, so now he's in close proximity to a ray of sunshine who's going to make him rethink his stance on dating.

Greer's lonely, going back to her empty house every night is getting to her. So when her adorable neighbor Grey finagles his dad into asking her to be his summer nanny, she can't say no. Nor can she say no when Grey tells everyone she and Simon are dating and now they have to fake date for Simon's mom's sake. But she can't let her heart get involved because whatever this is, isn't real and Simon flat out told her he doesn't date, can't be that man for her. So fake dating, falling in love with Grey and Simon, nothing's quite going the way she thought it would. If only Simon could see that he is capable of moving past his fear of loss, because she's not leaving him and Grey...

This is a sweet, low key and low angst story. Grey absolutely steals the show, is the shining star of the entire thing. Greer and Simon are the epitome of grumpy/sunshine, and interesting in that he's the romance author and she's the personal trainer, which is a welcome switch. I have to admit, though, that as much as I like them, there wasn't a whole lot going on in this story. Their chemistry is most definitely slow burn, too slow actually, and I was waiting anxiously for something big to happen. It never did, and I found myself with a wandering mind for a bit. Still, Grey was by far enough to brighten the entire story, and lift it from 3 to 3.5 stars.

😊What i liked -

✔ Let me start by saying that my favourite in this book was Simon's son Grey. He was such a cutie and Hilarious.
✔ Loved the whole neighbouring thing and they can look into eachothers window. (hope you got what i mean)
✔ I found Simon and Greer in most parts really cute together.
✔ I even loved the cute bond between Grey and Greer.
✔ Liked the storyline.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ I kinda got a bit bored of the back and forth of oh i want us together and then nope we can't.
✔ Simon did annoy me from time to time.

- a single dad x nanny romance! brothers best friend, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, small town romance!
- i LOVE that the MMC is the romance author!! it’s always the FMC!
- what a prick Greer’s date was?! Simon beat his ass
- Grey is acc the cutest kid i cannot cope
- $700 a week for a few hours being a nanny? sign me up
- it is a bit annoying how obsessed Greer is having a family, like she’s 30 and is acting like she’s on her death bed all alone
- Grey’s my fav character, this kid is hilarious 😂😂
- Simon’s pissing me off a lil bit
- i’m not a fan of Greer apologising for leaving his house, he made her cry? why would she stay?
- okay the phone sex was stupid hot
- their constant back and fourth of ‘we can’t be together’ blah blah blah got old so quick and yet it’s like 50% of the book
- their sex scenes are really well written
- so Simon decides he can’t let Greer go and then… let’s her go? SURE
- when did Greer turn in to this weird loser? she’s gonna wait for him? after he just ended it in a cold and clinical way? sure
- they both pissed me off so much that i couldn’t even enjoy the grand gesture
- i was enjoying this, the back and fourth got on my nerves a bit but i could deal
- but they just turned into characters i didn’t recognise in like 2 pages?
- i can’t get over how Greer said she’d wait for Simon? he DUMPED HER and she was like ‘i’ll be here’ like what?! you were this badass, driven woman and this is who you become?! no.
- and then Simon didn’t grovel, he ignored her for three weeks then declared his love, no thank you
- then we didn’t even get an epilogue for the two of them?! just get what Tobias and Natalie’s book is gonna be about? no thanks
- my three stars are for Grey ngl, the ending has just fully put me off the whole book

✨ I received this book as an ARC for my honest review✨

More Than Write marks my initiation into this series, and I sensed that reading the four previous books might have enriched my experience. I have a soft spot for grumpy heroes, and Simon fits that bill quite perfectly, while Greer’s character motivated me to amp up my workout routine and pull my life together! Despite the success of her business, Greer grapples with personal challenges, feeling a sense of loneliness as her attempts at dating fall flat. The story unfolds as a charming and sweet narrative, with Simon’s son, Grey, stealing the spotlight as my favorite character for his delightful interactions with Greer. The book exudes an adorable quality, presenting a low-angst, sugary romcom. However, I found myself anticipating a turning point throughout, waiting for a spark between Greer and Simon. The chemistry felt lacking, and even with the slow burn, the tension didn’t quite resonate. Perhaps an earlier coupling in the summer, evolving into a playful fling with a subsequent third-act breakup and grand gesture, might have injected more excitement than the spontaneous fake dating scenario devised by Grey. The story seemed to linger without significant developments, with Greer’s loneliness providing a touching undertone. When Grey persuades Simon to invite Greer as his summer nanny, the story takes a turn into a fake dating scheme, introduced midway through the summer, resulting in a longing for more substantial plot progressions.

Still can’t believe Greer said she would wait for Simon...

Truly Simon, and Grey's, Story

Jami continues her wonderful series of male romance writers finding love with this Gump meet Sunshine romance. Of all the men in this Writer's.Group, Simon's story is the one I have been waiting for most because he was always so hesitant to risk his heart again. He has been always just there as the other men have fallen in love as a grump presence hinting that there were such deep feelings under his surface which worked as such a great teaser because I knew when he fell it would be hard, fast and hard won.

With a looming deadline and a young son he needs help with Simon accepts the help of his neighbor Greer who dispute her own story still keeps her sunshine sense of self. And this battle of heart and history really defines the root of their slow burn romance. These are some of my favorite tropes and I was not disappointed in the least with the way these three characters were written or their interaction. Greer was the perfect Nanny and her vibrance and love for first Grey and then more slowly Simon highlight all the sweet, caring, and natural ways that love shows itself and the slow way these acts take down Simons walls was well paced and gave the angst he felt at moving on with his life quite natural.

This can be read as a standalone and entry point for this series, but having read this series in order allows you to feel not only like a member of this group but will enhance Simon's story and because you will have picked up on him as a whole character and not a just a trope. Yes, this is a little more angsty and slower paced that the previous books in the series, but this is Simon's story and I don't think a quicker pace would have suited his personality or his backstory .

This best friend’s older brother / grumpy-sunshine trope has tons of emotions, heartfelt moments and plenty of pull-your-hair-out stumbling blocks. Simon is a single dad to a 10-year old boy. His fiancé died nearly 9 years ago in a tragic car accident. He was heartbroken and is unwilling to put his heart on the line for love again, ironic because he’s a bestselling romance author!

Greer lives next door and is a cheerful woman - all the time. She’s one of his sister Calla’s best friends so they’ve interacted on multiple occasions.

Greer agrees to help Simon out by being his pseudo-nanny. She helps get his son to/from sport camps, cooks, cleans and hangs out with his son for more than half the day so he can get keep up with his to-do list and have quality time to spend with his son in the evenings.

I adored Greer’s interactions with Grey and her sassy banter with Simon. The fake dating idea was priceless given it was a result of Grey telling the football mom’s Greer was dating his dad. As a romance author, Simon knows the fake dating idea could be problematic with his stance on avoiding love, but he’s willing to risk it for more time with Greer who seems to fit perfectly into his life.

This has some steamy moments and plenty of sweet and funny moments; however, it’s pretty predictable down to the somewhat forced third act breakup.

The grand gesture was heartfelt but pretty anemic considering Simon is a romance writer, but it wins Greer back for a sweet happily ever after.

I received a free ARC from the author and Grey’s PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Y'all already know a best friend's brother x single dad x nanny combo is a triple whammy for me. Yet, this read was just okay for me. Although, written as a standalone, maybe I would've vibed more with the book if I read the other books in the series?

I would describe More than Write to be a quick, low angst romance read. Greer is an athletic girlie with more motivation than I could ever imagine. She wants to date and fall in love but is struggling with it. Simon is a romance writer, and Greer's neighbor and best friend's brother. He's a widow and struggling to balance his work and taking care of his kid. And ofc, in comes Greer who wants to help out and they soon realize their attraction to each other.

Is there such a thing as TOO low angst? I liked the first 40% where they had some tension, but even then everything felt lacking. I felt like I was reaching for some hot chemistry that never came. Granted the phone sex they had was super hot, but that was it. It got to the point that I was TIRED. The back and forth became exhausting and Simon wasn't giving enough hot DILFY factor to be acting the way he was. And Greer saying she'd wait for him? Girl, you have your own successful business. Wait for NOBODY. The random fake dating trope also didn't fit well with the plot. Felt very forced.

I did love Grey though. He was so cute. Wish there were more scenes with him, Greer, and Simon. The plot definitely need some more found family vibes, even if I kept mixing up Greer and Grey's names. Also, why did they have NO EPILOGUE.

I enjoyed Simon and Greer so much! More Than Write is a feel-good, no-fuss, no-angst romance that checks off all kinds of tropes: Neighbors, single dad, best friend's brother, grumpy/sunshine, nanny, and fake relationship.

Unlucky in love Greer decides to take off the summer from dating. As all of her friends have paired off, she's feeling kind of lonely. So the timing is perfect when her grumpy next-door neighbor Simon -- who is her best friend's older brother -- is on a deadline with his next romance novel and needs some help managing his house and shuttling his kid around to various sports camps. Greer gets to hang out with Grey, and Simon gets the help he desperately needs. As Greer spends more time with father and son, she not only builds a lovely friendship with Grey, but a sizzling chemistry forms between her and Simon.

I loved watching these two fall for each other. Simon lost the woman he thought he'd spend the rest of his life with, so he was very hesitant to let himself feel anything for Greer other than friends-with-benefits. And she knows his reservations, but falls for him anyway. It was a joy to see Simon realize just how deep his feelings for her run, despite his best intentions.

More Than Write is a standalone within a connected series, each book featuring a different male romance writer. I love that concept! This is the first book of the series that I've read, and I will have to go back and read the others now!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This is book 5 in the Lust and Bust series and the group of male authors story continues.
This was Simon's story. He was a single dad and after losing his fiancée to an accident 9 yrs ago, he has locked his heart away. He doesn't want to hurt like that again. But he is struggling to juggle his writing deadline and taking care of his 10 Yr old son Grey.
Grey is super cute and funny, he is my favourite and made this book good.
Greer is an energetic, super happy, lovable and lonely. She wants a family and the wholesale feeling of belonging.
So when she offered to help her neighbour/best friends brother with her nanny skills, it was exactly what she needed.
They both are attracted to each other but Simon is hesitant and keeps pushing away then gives her hope. It did get a bit tiresome as the push and pull went on for a long time. Otherwise it would have been so much more enjoyable to read.
There was some spice and that's when the chemistry was finally felt between them.
It is a slow burn, funny, great found family, some drama, wonderful little boy, love, heartbreak and spice.
Loved seeing the other characters pop up throughout the book.
I would have loved to see an epilogue, I am a sucker for an epilogue haha.

Simon is a romance writer and a single dad his wife died 8yrs ago.
Greer his sisters friend moves into the house next door, she has been going through some personal issues wanting a family but not finding the right guy so she deletes her dating apps and feels she needs a change.
Simons 10yr old Grey decides he needs a nanny to help Simon as he’s so snowed under with running the house working on his latest novel and taking his son to all his activities so convinces his dad they need this, Greer fits the bill as she gets on with Grey and he trusts her, the deal worked out perfectly Greer wasn’t home alone Grey got to his activities on time and Simon got work done.
Grey absolutely stole the show with his comical actions and comments. I loved when he announced his dad was dating Greer, sooo she went with it. lol
She didn't prepare herself for the fake dating that would have to take place between her and Simon thanks to Grey's big mouth.
Everyone was sold on the relationship that went from fake to real but with issues so fast Simon struggled with it.
Things begin to heat but with Greer's issues wanting love knowing Simon's fear of committing, it felt like they were taking one step forward, then 2 steps back

🌞Sunshine and rain cloud pairing make for great neighbors?🌧

I love a good romance with a devoted single dad who finds new love when he least expects and this romance fit the bill. It's got some longing looks, passion and warm family moments. And a ten/eleven year-old who has a key role in bringing the couple together.

Simon the stoic pessimist is a great father but an iffy Romeo because he fears losing another woman he loves would devastate him. So he writes about romance but avoids it at all costs... Until a sunny personal trainer becomes his next door neighbor and worms her way into his thoughts and household. The main plot is well done and the whole base of this series--a close-knit group of men who write romance novels and find their own romantic HEAs--is a refreshing twist.

Simon's beautiful neighbor Greer and Simon's son Grey were my favorite characters and they clicked so well together. Greer is so giving, but she does have an ulterior motive--chasing away the loneliness. And sporty Grey brings energy and good vibes whenever he breezes in.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Simon is a single dad and a writer. Who is on a deadline. His kid’s schedule is hectically busy, and he desperately needs some help.

Greer is having a tough time right now. Never mind that her business is doing great, her personal life is not good. She is a bit lonely, and the dating side is not working out for her. So, she decides to take a break. When her next-door neighbor asks her for some help with his son, she decides to help him out, beats being alone all the time… Right…

This was such a cute, sweet story. I have to say my favorite character in this story was Simon’s son, Grey. I loved how he and Greer got along. Greer was sweet, and helpful and she fit in so perfectly with Simon and Grey. Simon seemed like grump, but it just seemed like Grey’s mother meant so much to him, now his raising his son all alone. But Greer was definitely a breath of fresh air 😊All in all the story was sweet and definitely a good read 😊

Simon is a romance writer who is a single dad and on a deadline. Greer has been going through some personal issues and feels she needs a change. Greer's brother is best friends with Simon which adds a layer of yummy (enter brother's best friend trope!) to their story. Simon needs a nanny for the summer for his son, Grey.

Grey stole the show with his comical actions and comments. Greer agrees to be his nanny. She didn't prepare herself for the fake dating that would have to take place between her and Simon thanks to Grey's big mouth.

Things begin to heat but with Greer's issues and Simon's wishy-washy decision making, it felt like they were taking one step forward, then 2 steps back. They would both have to let go of past hurts, pride, and open their hearts to each other. But can they both commit to that? You will have to read and find out!

Simon is a writer on a deadline. Problem is, he's also a single dad and he's having trouble balancing everything. His next door neighbor, Greer, seems like the perfect solution, except she's his sister's best friend and also the first person that made him feel human after he lost his wife. Still, he decides that Greer can be a nanny for the summer for his son Grey. Of course, being the precocious little person that Grey is, he tells everyone that Simon and Greer are dating and then of course they have to fake it because it makes Simon's mom so happy. When there start to be real feelings involved, can they find a way to make things permanent?

I loved both of these characters. They were real and true to life. Their reactions were realistic and completely understandable. Of course, like most book characters, they could use a lot of help with communication, but they still find a way through.

Simon and Greer

First of all, I loved what Simon does for a living. Refreshingly different and so opposite of what or how he lives his life.
He is a closed off grump but a loving single Dad. Someone who is afraid to love again in the fear of losing that person again.
Greer is a personal trainer who becomes a nanny for the summer. For a young boy whose dad is the brother of her best friend.
Greer and Grey quickly form a connection and get close, because that kid is wonderful.
But getting attached to someone who avoids love at all costs can only end up in heartbreak.
This is a very slow burn story. Two people who more or less are forced together by a cute little boy to discover that they maybe could be more.
Maybe Greer wanted too much because she was lonely. And Simon got me a little frustrated with his way. But he made up in a really sweet way.
The bunch of friends were fun and wonderful. A perfect addition.

Simon is finding it difficult to balance the demands of his career and being there for his son Grey. Even though he has his reservations he decides to hire Greer even though the situation has complicated all over it as not only is she his neighbor but his sister’s friend as well.

Greer is going through a difficult time as she wants love and children of her own, but she is beginning to question if that will ever happen for her. The opportunity to spend time with Grey is something she doesn’t want to miss but as time goes on the biggest challenge may be protecting her heart from Simon.

Simon is conflicted as even though the loss of the woman he loved and Grey’s mother was years earlier it is still impacting him in the present. Greer is everything that he and his son need in their life, but he will have to decide if the reward is worth the risk.

OMG I LOVED IT! I've never read anything by Jami Rogers before, but I will most definitely read her other works! The whole story is so cute and easy to read, and I love the way she writes!

I love Simon and Greer's story so much! Simon is a single dad writing romance books on a tight schedule. Greer works as a personal trainer. And they happened to be neighbours! Greer and Simon are the perfect example of grumpy /sunshine. I adore how they came to have a happy ending.

My favourites was Grey, Simon's son! That child really pops throughout, and I believe he was the real genius that brought these two together—it was extremely adorable!

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book!

This is the fifth book in this incredible series, and this is Simon and Greer’s story.
Simon is a grumpy single dad, and Greer’s best friends’ brother and neighbour. Greer is a personal trainer, but she becomes Simon’s sons’ nanny for the summer. When Simon’s son tells his football team that he is dating Greer, he convinces her to agree to fake dating him, when his own mom finds out.
This is a well written story which is an easy to read, slow burn story, with family, friendships, grumpy / sunshine, fake dating, opposites attract, emotions, engaging and realistic characters, humor, witty banter, single dad / nanny romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

HOT, funny, and relatable!

I love Greer. I love this heroine so much. She is mature, quick witted, and knows what she wants (her loneliness gave me all the feels). Her story flowed so well! And of course it wouldn’t be a romance without grumpy Simon. (who is really just in his head a lot but a great guy) He is the perfect match for her. Their love story is my favorite of the series so far (and that’s a high bar!). The tension between these two is taut and palpable. The characters and story are expertly moved along - I lost track of time reading. Grey is absolutely the best thing since pizza was invented. That kid has my heart!
5 stars, highly recommend!!

This was the first book in this series that I've read. I do feel like this would have been better if I would have read the first 4 books.

I love a grumpy hero and Simon definitely was grumpy a lot. Greer made me want to go workout and get my life together more! haha! I loved that Greer was always there with a smile even when Simon was being rude, but she always didnt take his attitude! Her relationship with Simon's son, Grey was beyond adorable!

I did think at times this book seemed a little slow but it was overall cute. I'll go back and read the others in this series.

These characters are likeable, the connection strong, and the unique plot makes for an entertaining read. It is a slow burn love story filled with drama, passion, charm, twists and turns, plus interesting secondary characters. An engaging page turner.

This is great! I loved the back and forth between Greer and Simon throughout the story. It has heart, amazing characters, and a great mix of spice, sweet, and lots of smiles. The relationship that builds between Greer and Simon's son really adds so much to the overall feel of the book. They connect so well that I just couldn't put it down! This is my first read of this series but it won't be my last! I'm looking forward to the next one!

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, and I'm willingly leaving an honest review.
Greer wants all the whole package - home, marriage, kids with a white picket fence.
Simon is terrified of loving again after losing the mother of his son 10 years ago.
Will these two be able to give each other a chance to make it work??
Wonderful storyline with great characters and loved the HEA.
Looking forward to the final book in the series, Tobias.

This heartfelt story had me all caught up in Simon and Greer. They are next door neighbors. When Simon's career gets the best of him, he asks Greer to become nanny to his son for the summer and it kickstarts their path. It is filled with intriguing twists and turns that had me in this couple's corner to get their chance to finally have happiness.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

Simon needs help; he is a busy full time single dad and author struggling to handle everything. Greer recently moved next door, but she is friends with Simon’s sister. She is the perfect solution to help, except Simon’s son makes an announcement to his team that Greer and Simon have to keep up with. What happens when their relationship lines blur into something Simon is not ready for? I like that Greer was a sounding board for Simon’s son, and he trusted her.

I really liked Greer. She takes a balanced view of what she wants from life and takes reasonable steps toward that. I thought her character was very realistic. Simon annoyed me some, but I was like Greer and waited him out. His grand gesture was fantastic! I also liked Grey and his contributions to the story.

The attraction between these two was there from the start but Simon had a lot he needed to work through. He was just so scared of loving Greer and then losing her. I loved how she said that she would wait for him. She knew that he wasn't rejecting her, he just needed more time to get there. Grey was adorable and I loved seeing him interact with Greer.

I received an arc from grey's promotion.
