More Than Write (Lust or Bust #5)

Y'all already know a best friend's brother x single dad x nanny combo is a triple whammy for me. Yet, this read was just okay for me. Although, written as a standalone, maybe I would've vibed more with the book if I read the other books in the series?
I would describe More than Write to be a quick, low angst romance read. Greer is an athletic girlie with more motivation than I could ever imagine. She wants to date and fall in love but is struggling with it. Simon is a romance writer, and Greer's neighbor and best friend's brother. He's a widow and struggling to balance his work and taking care of his kid. And ofc, in comes Greer who wants to help out and they soon realize their attraction to each other.
Is there such a thing as TOO low angst? I liked the first 40% where they had some tension, but even then everything felt lacking. I felt like I was reaching for some hot chemistry that never came. Granted the phone sex they had was super hot, but that was it. It got to the point that I was TIRED. The back and forth became exhausting and Simon wasn't giving enough hot DILFY factor to be acting the way he was. And Greer saying she'd wait for him? Girl, you have your own successful business. Wait for NOBODY. The random fake dating trope also didn't fit well with the plot. Felt very forced.
I did love Grey though. He was so cute. Wish there were more scenes with him, Greer, and Simon. The plot definitely need some more found family vibes, even if I kept mixing up Greer and Grey's names. Also, why did they have NO EPILOGUE.
Thank you to Grey’s Promo for this arc in exchange for an honest review!
