After 26 years of marriage Sharon's beloved husband Michael passed away in 2014. Together they had a life filled with adventure, laughter and unconditional love. Sharon is the author of five humorous mysteries that were written for Christian readers. Her second book in her Ruby Taylor mystery series was voted book of the year by American Christian Fiction Writers.

Sharon has a bachelor's degree in film production and a master's degree in history. She loves old movies like Double Indemnity and anything by Frank Capra or Alfred Hitchcock. She enjoys reading all kinds of books but is partial to the nonfiction of C. S. Lewis. She loves to hear from readers. You can contact her through her Web site.

Plotting is this author's strong point, and characterization is second to that. However, the book is written at about a third grade reading level, so there is an overwhelming amount of blow-by-blow telling. "He climbed into the car. She heard the gunshot and waited to feel the pain," etc etc. But it was interesting enough to keep reading, so three stars instead of two.

This was a pretty good romantic suspense novel. I will admit I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and had not read anything by this author previously. I found that the novel jumped right into the action and kept it up for the entire read. I liked the interaction between Sarah and Bryan and found that it seemed very believable. It had plenty of twists and turns. I liked that it was inspiring - the characters were able to turn their lives around despite having had a rocky start - without being overly preachy. I have read some in this genre that are just too in-your-face and this was not. The characters faced real problems and they sometimes came up short, but they always kept trying.

Suspense from the first page to the last...

Suspense from the first page to the last. I loved that adoption was shown in such a positive way. The heroine had become pregnant in high school. She was a foster child at the time. Bryan, her boyfriend, signed adoption papers and stopped talking to her. Sarah made adoption decisions by herself for their child. She has become an adoption social worker herself. The story begins with Sarah being kidnapped by thugs demanding to know the whereabouts of her brother, Crew, a homeless drug addict. As the kidnappers prepare to kill her, they are interrupted by Bryan, who saves her life. The rest of the book is them fleeing from the bad guys and trying to find her brother. The plot has many twists and turns. I won't spoil the story. If you like suspense and romance, you won't be disappointed. Sharon Dunn's message of second chances and redemption is not overpowering, but skillfully woven in to the story line. A good read by a skilled author.

An OK suspense book with a *mild* reference to Faith. Maybe I'm too jaded by other HQ books, but I really didn't get much of the healing from what happened between Sarah and Byran ten years ago. The focus of the books in the Love Inspired Suspense imprint is the suspense, rather than romance.

When I look at the book that way, the book works.

While I like that Sarah and Bryan are reunited high school sweethearts, the action of the story was too non-stop for my tastes. Also, since both of them had regrets about their past relationship, it would have been nice to have them each come to terms with it better. The ending also had too much of deus ex machina feel to it to be satisfying.

I won this Love Inspired Suspense book from the Goodreads giveaways. So glad I did, it is a great story. The author starts the reader off in the middle of a kidnapping. The action and intrigue don’t slow down until you are reading the epilogue.
Sarah Langston is kidnapped and dragged into the Montana wilderness. The abductors want to know where her brother, Crew, is. In all honesty Sarah has no idea where her brother is but, the kidnappers don’t believe her. She can’t imagine what the men want with Crew and why they think she knows where to find him. They drag her into the woods and continually threaten her in an attempt to get the information they seek. Sarah realizes that she is probably going to die and no one will know where to find her body. Then, suddenly, someone whacks one of her assailants with a log and grabs her to get her away. When she is finally able to get a look at her would-be rescuer, she is shocked to see it is Bryan Keyes, the father of the baby they gave up for adoption. She hasn’t seen Bryan in ten years. They had been high school sweethearts but, his parents never really approved of them as a couple.
This is quite a tale of cat and mouse. The action continues through the entire story. Thank you Sharon Dunn for the riveting read!

Montana Standoff
I love these formula style books; they are comfort reads. Much like comfort meals, these books are the perfect read after a long, hard, and grueling day. Each story is different, but has certain precepts that are followed, the most important being a calm happy ending. There are numerous mini genres within this larger genre of formula writings.
Love Inspired Suspense is one of these mini genres, a mystery with a love story intertwined. Another aspect of Love Inspired is that there is a distinctly Christian side to the stories, some of which are fully integrated, and others have only a smattering of Christian aspects.
This story is one of the latter, a strong mystery which does not preach. However, during the more intense situations, our heroine takes a moment to ask for the Lord’s help. In addition, this story shows that Christians are not perfect nor were they when they turned to seek Lord’s forgiveness.
But the best parts of this story are the heroine was strong and did not give up even when things looked bleak, without any hope; her characters were believable; and the setting was tense and well-defined.

Second chance at first love.

Good story about high school sweethearts who have a daughter up for adoption a few years before. They've both gone on with life but find themselves thrown back together when Sarah is kidnapped and then rescued by Bryan who is after her kidnappers.

"TOP PICK! The plausible suspense, combined with fast-paced action, starts immediately and does not let the reader go. The determined characters demonstrate that no one has to be defined by past mistakes." RT Book Reviews, rated 4 1/2 stars

This book made me a nervous wreck! I felt as if I ran a race after finishing reading it. While it did have great and unending suspense you didn't get to know the characters very well. Somewhat unrealistic but a very quick read. The constant running drove me crazy.

This was the worst book I ever read. It was predictable and could have been written by a kindergarten child. Suspense does not exist here because an elephant would know the outcome after the first chapter. I feel dumber for having read this.

Maybe even a little more. It was not much of a mystery, as the villain was given at the beginning, but the action is almost non-stop, and exciting.

Pretty good. Too many "bad" situations in the story line. I know it is just a book, but it made almost cheesy
