Game Play by Lisa Suzanne

5/5 stars

Oh my lord, this third installment in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series is just bloody perfect. I am just completely swept up in this series and I adore Lincoln and Jolene.

In this book they both decide to confide in someone close to them. And that really gives them a bit of air. But Rivera pops up around every corner and he is just blazingly stalking the two of them. He gains lots of photo evidence in this book with which he threatens them.

Their parents still try to shy them away from each other. The hatred their father's have towards the other family doesn't diminish. But Linc and Jo realize that what they have is stronger than that bloody feud.

Meanwhile Asher is in big trouble and he comes to Lincoln for help.

I love that even though the books are fairly short, they are action packed and so bloody engaging. I love the fast pace these novels have.
And my lord, the love scenes!! They had my heart thumping several times. I need a Lincoln in my life!

Truly love this series so much! 5 huge stars from me for this brilliant series.

In Vegas Aces: The Coach, book three, second chance lovers, Lincoln Nash and Jolene Bailey, are going against the huge odds stacked against them, hoping for the miracle that will allow their love to last for a lifetime.

It's not looking or feeling so good, having to continue sneaking around- the guilt is eating away at them. But finding creative ways to keep their families from discovering the extent of their lies is the only way to spend time in each other's orbit. These family members who can't contain their long time hatred for each other, even at a charitable event they've all been invited to?? What a mess.

There are too many people who know way too much already, especially the sneakiest one of all, who would stoop as low as he can go to ruin everything- personally and professionally for this lovestruck twosome. Needless to say, the ansgty moments keep on rolling as time keeps on ticking away. How or when will the mighty fall in this shadowy and risky game of love? Only time and the last two books in this series will tell!

Oh my heart! My heart went through all the stages reading this story, galloping most of the time. Swooning because Coach Nash is really freaking amazing. I devoured this book in a couple of hours because I couldn’t putting down. Coach is little by little engraving himself in my heart. And Jolene she is fantastic, and perfect for Linc. Their families??? They are awful, that’s sad, I can’t wait for their relationship to take the news so they finally grow up and leave all the nonsense behind. At the end of the story, that cliffhanger… I was really frustrated and angry but that’s what you can expect on Lisa’s story. 5 stars as always because this series keeps getting better and the Vegas Aces is always going to be the beat team ever. So excited for their HEA but I know I need to wait a little more.

I feel like everything is about to blow up. Lincoln and Jolene are awesome together and I hope for the best but my hope is dying. If these two don't make it I'm going to be crushed. The chemistry was great and it was well written

This book in particular was, I would say, SUPER SPICY! And guess what? There's no complaining from this side of the room. While I'm still really frustrated about the sneaking around they have to do, that actually makes it even more 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

They still face so many challenges and they keep asking the same questions and having the same results. What I realized after reading this book last night is that, if you really love someone, won't you do ANYTHING and give up EVERYTHING to be with them? Especially if you know they are the one. Yeah it's a risk them coming clean but at the end of the day, they were inlove then and they're inlove now even after so many many years and so much hurt. They're such smart and strong individuals, and I get that of course the more it prolongs the more story we'll get BUT how about they be together already and face the challenges together. I mean I'm very much in awe of the plans they came up with so they could be together but its exhausting at this point. I'm hoping in the next book that they'll come clean or attest get caught because its too much at this point to see them ask the same things repeatedly.

Also, and this is VERY important but didn't he just tell her the truth about what his dad did? Like she blatantly told her and I don't know, she just ignored it. Because the way he said it was literally admitting to the biggest rumor and the reason why the family broke apart. I don't know about anybody else but I thought when she heard that, it would've turned into this big blow out thing but it didn't. Hopefully she'll catch up on that in the next book.

Overall the rating I give this book is a ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. I have basically gotten everything I want from a book. There's a great balance with it all. The only thing and I'll keep saying it until I see it, is they need to make up their minds and just be together because at this point, yeah it'll make them stronger in a way, but it just seems they're not willing to take the jump. Moving around in secrecy is sooo hot but at some point they need to do what's best for them and not let their families or careers come in the middle of the love they have for each other. And their love is REAL, so them not actually being together annoys me because I want them out there shouting to the whole world that they're inlove and they can still get shit done.

Thanks to Grey's Promotion and Valentines PR for selecting me for this ARC. And a HUGE!!! thank you to the wonderful author for writing these amazing books. THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤

Ohhh it's getting good now! Per Lisa Suzanne's writing standard, this is book 3 and this is where things start getting dicey! And do they ever... phew. We're still rooting for Jolene and Coach and I just love their sweet, tender moments, but the challenges against them - well in all fairness, we go on the merry-go-round with them and we too feel like they can get it together and be together. But then Lisa throws us - and them! - for another loop with another challenge. It's infuriating and challenging and heartbreaking because for those of us who just love to love and want everyone to be happy, why can't they just have it? Why does the hard stuff have to be so hard? But here Jo and Lincoln have some hard stuff, and it's all coming to a head in this book.

It's really emotional to be honest, because we're so invested in Lincoln and Jolene and we are rooting so darn hard for them! But then it's back to the issues at hand, the same issues that have faced us in books 1 and 2: their jobs, the public, their roles in their professions and the deeper implications, and then (the big one) their families. But in between their every day lives and those challenges, the tender moments that they steal are truly sweet. And in those moments we root so hard for them... only for another challenge to be thrown at them. It is quite infuriating but we find ourselves just rooting harder and hating the haters who are standing in their way.

And after we've gone round-and-round with Jolene and Lincoln and we think we might be getting somewhere and are seeing the light, Lisa throws us a big whopper of a plot twist and that's how the book ends. Like WTF? ... but for anyone who's read Lisa Suzanne's books, you know she's going to do this and you're not that surprised, but it does get me every time! It's just like "daaaang! I did not see that coming... but... but, what now?" But my favorite part of a Lisa Suzanne story? It's always book 4! Book 4 is when she always brings it all together, and especially the love that is between the characters - so Lisa, I survived this book and it's turmoil, so please, please give me book #4 now because I NEED to know how Jo and Lincoln get their HEA!

Game Play book 3 in author Lisa Suzanne's Vegas Aces: The Coach has us continuing straight from the ending of book 2 Play Call.

In this book more than ever Lincoln and Jolene had their work cut out for them.
And it wasn’t just from trying to juggle their jobs, and in Jolene’s case making time for her son. But also trying to find time for each other given the sneaking around they had to do for their secret hidden relationship.
It’s one of the reasons the narrative led them on quite a hectic rollercoaster ride.

From the ups and downs given the obstacles and hurdles thrown in their way, whether it be from the ongoing family feud drama between the Nash’s and Bailey’s, conniving co-worker Rivera threatening Jolene. On top of jealously raring its ugly head during certain situations and events for both Lincoln and Jolene.
It was no surprise the tension was at an all time high for the two, the intensity rising more and more throughout, building upon the major angsty-ness that just kept on giving.
Alongside the emotionally charged moments bringing out an array of feelings, given the chaotic journey Lincoln and Jolene venture through making the continuation of their Romeo and Juliet style love story quite a real page turner. Even more so than the previous books from the series IMO. Especially when it came to exploring the love aspect of their relationship.

Game Play was definitely an enjoyable read, especially when it came to the journey that Lincoln and Jolene ventured upon this time round. Having being put through their paces a majority of the time.
The way author Lisa Suzanne left us hanging at the end, it's safe to say it has raised many questions for me at least, especially when it comes to wondering what will happen next for Lincoln and Jolene in book 4 Overtime from Vegas Aces: The Coach series.

The feud between the Nash's and the Bailey's is getting worse as Lincoln and Jolene get closer. Jolene's friend Sam is still pretending to be Lincoln's girlfriend. This is bothering Jolene more and more. She is jealous that her friend gets to go out in public with Lincoln when she wants to be on her arm.
Both Lincoln and Jolene find out that their respective parents will be at a charity, however they do not tell each other. They say something about it to each other just after having some alone time in an office during the charity. During the auction their fathers compete to win an item, yelling accusations at each other across the room. Jack Dalton finally gets to quiet down, but it doesn't end there. They both say some hateful things about the other's child.
Lincoln finds something out about his brother Asher who has joined the team and helps him get out of a jam. Just as the team heads out for two weeks of pre-season practice. Jolene accompanies the team and has a hotel room that adjoins Lincoln's. As they head back home Jolene finds out from one of the players that they suspect that she and Lincoln are having an affair. To throw him off the track, she agrees to go on a date with him. After the date she receives photos from the date and feels like she has been set up.
Pre-season starts and Asher does not perform the way Lincoln expects him to.
Jolene goes to Lincoln's one night and while she is upstairs Asher comes over. She overhears Asher confess to Lincoln that he has done something against league rules. She feels like she needs to report this but also knows that this will make the feud even worse.
As she is trying to decide what to do she receives pictures from Rivera showing her going to Lincoln's house and kissing him.

Game Play (Vegas Aces: The Coach #3) by Lisa Suzanne is part three of a five-part contemporary sports romance serial and ends with a cliffhanger. Told in first person dual POV, this installment includes second-chance, forced-proximity, forbidden romance, and fake relationship tropes. The story follows the relationship between the new Vegas Aces head coach Lincoln Nash and Jolene Bailey, the sports correspondent assigned to follow the team.

This book picks up where the previous one ended with Jolene rushing off from Lincoln’s house to pick up Jonah, who called asking to come home from his dad’s house because he was scared and couldn’t sleep with all the fighting going on. Now Jolene wants to file for full custody, and this is just one more stressor in her already stressful life. Things are heating up between her and Lincoln as they continue to sneak around for secret rendezvous. Sam continues to date him in public, but the ruse is becoming more difficult for everyone involved.

A charity ball brings the Nashes and Baileys face to face, and the results are explosive, attracting media attention and lots of bad press. Rivera continues to threaten Jolene, attempting to blackmail her into resigning from her position as sports correspondent. He’s also temporarily her boss as he fills in for Marcus who had a family emergency. Lincoln and Jolene are growing tired of all the sneaking around. They’re in love and just want to be together, but neither can see a way to take their relationship public without dire consequences. Is a future together impossible?

I really enjoyed this third installment of Jolene and Lincoln’s story. It may be my favorite so far. I’m looking forward to part four!

Why is Fiction, fiction?? Because if it was “real life” the characters would be so exhausted emotionally they wouldn’t be able to function!
As Book 3, Game Play, of the Vegas Aces: The Coaches unfolds, we see our hero/heroine Lincoln and Jolene continuing to try to please everyone, including themselves, while hiding the truth. Lots of sub-tropes, lots of drama. Here is a summary:
1. Linc and Jo are still trying to keep their romance under wraps, unknown from their families, feuding parents, co-workers and kids. But…some more people know…
2. Jolene’s roommate and best friend Sam, continues to “fake date” Linc, to throw everyone off the scent of Lincoln and Jolene dating.
3. A secret is revealed about Sam and her ex that plays into the drama—and a next series or book?
4. Lincoln’s and Jolene’s parents have now taken their fight public, to a charity event, along with an overt stance that neither should be involved with the other. I’m waiting for the explosion when the truth comes out about this!
5. Ellie Dalton, publicist to the team, is now managing the message of Jolene and Lincoln’s relationship to help them “come out.”
6. Jolene’s co-worker, now temporary boss, has declared that it is his mission to take her down via exposing her relationship with Linc.
My gosh…I don’t know about you but I’M EXHAUSTED! Lots at play here…in addition to past characters from Ms. Suzanne’s books who come and “visit” in the storyline. It’s engaging, gut wrenching and full of angst, as every twist and turn harkens back to Linc and Jolene asking each other “what are we doing?” and “can this move forward?”
Can’t wait for Book 4!

Game Play
This book is a rollercoaster of trouble. Trouble for Jolene, trouble for Lincoln, and trouble for their parents.
Twenty years ago, Jolene and Lincoln were best friends turned to young lovers. Joseph Bailey’s football career ended at a practice when Eddie Nash tackled him. The Baileys and the Nashs owned a bar together that failed. There are hard feelings on both sides of parents.
After all this time Jolene and Lincoln still have very strong feelings for each other. They try to please everyone and keep their rekindled romance a secret. Sam, Jolen’s friend is pretending to be Lincoln’s girlfriend. Sam is still in love with her ex. Jolene and Lincoln are grabbing time with each other where they can.
Ryan Rivera, a reporter, is threatening to go to Marcus, their boss. He accosts Jolene. He is jealous of Jolene getting the Vegas Correspondent position. He wants to expose her and end her career. This could end more than just Jolene’s career.
Asher Nash a recent recruit to the Vegas Aces asks Lincoln for a large loan. He is gambling and lost. He tells Lincoln that his mom cannot find his dad. His mom tells Lincoln that his dad put the farm up for sale before they moved to Vegas.
As they attend a Charity Ball the Baileys and Nashs get into a bitter bidding war and it is ugly.
How can they possibly go on? They love each other but secrets will be revealed. Could all this explode into career ending revelations? Serious Romeo and Juliet vibes with this story. This quote sums it up: “What we have is a curse since I am madly in love with him yet can’t really be with him the way normal couples can be. What a confusing hot mess”.

“My entire life, I’ve tried to recreate what I had with her, but I never got it back until I got her back.”

The relationship between Lincoln and Jolene reaches new levels in Game Play. Both of them are realizing that they have never moved past their feelings for each other and that each moment they spend together makes those feelings more clear and stronger.

“I’ve been in love with you since I was fourteen, and I feel like I’ve been forced to spend my entire life fighting it.”

Even though they continue to sneak around, the angst and longing that they feel is at an all-time high as the hopelessness that they will ever be able to shout their feelings to the world builds. Their families have made it clear how much they despise everyone in each other’s families and continue to make it even more difficult for these two to be together. Add in sneaky co-workers and it feels like the whole world is against them.

“Those feelings never died. They never dimmed. They never went anywhere except buried deep down, and the moment I saw her in the present time, they resurfaced. No amount of pushing them away could ever really get rid of something this strong.”

I loved that Lincoln and Jolene are no longer hiding their true feelings from one another and that they are committed to making it work. Tensions continue to build as more people find out about their secret relationship. When the truth finally comes out, will they be able to hold on to the piece of happiness they have found with each other? I can’t wait to see what happens next.

ARC review ~
This is book three in the Vegas Aces - The Coach series. This has been an outstanding series.

Game Play picks up where book two ended. Jolene is racing to her exes house to get her son. In her haste leaving Lincoln’s she didn’t realize someone was following her.

Lincoln and Jolene have been seeing each other in secret due to their jobs and their families feud. Her colleague, Ryan Rivera has been harassing Jolene because he feels he should have gotten the Vegas Aces Correspondent job. He has pics of Jolene kissing Lincoln and is threatening to publish them and reveal their secret relationship.

Jolene and Lincoln dated when they were younger. Their families feud tore them apart. Now 20 years later their feelings have deepened. They still love each other and the connection is stronger. But they don’t know how to be together openly without losing their families and possibly their jobs.

Jolene’s bestfriend, Samantha had been pretending to date Lincoln. Her and Jolene live together so when Lincoln comes over he can see Jolene in secret without suspicion from the outside. They are trying to throw Ryan Rivera and their families off their trail.

But the lies, the secrets are getting exhausting for all of them. How can they continue to keep their relationship a secret when they want to come out and be together openly? How can they get their families to get over their feud? How can they deal with Rivera’s threats?

I can’t wait for book four. These books just keep getting better and better. Love Lisa Suzanne’s books.

I was given an ARC of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.

Guys. This is the first time that as I'm reading one of Lisa's stories that I'm honestly wondering - How's she gonna get us out of this one? One thing i will say about this series so far: My stomach has been in knots the whole time! The drama, the angst, the banter, the steam. The chemistry is fire between Lincoln and Jolene, but will this ending bring us too high a cost? If Linc and Jo win their battle to be together, then everyone else loses - everything. I'm having trouble wrapping my head and heart around the repercussions I know are coming.

As Lincoln and Jolene bulldoze their way through everyone to spend time together, they must dodge their parents and co-workers, all of which have already caught on (did I mention the chemistry is fire? Kinda hard to hide). I worry how Sam will end up after all is said and done. At first, I was worried she was going to fall for Lincoln and pull a Shannon, but it looks like that's definitely not going to happen.

Rumors are swirling and as they get caught up in each other, they are leaving people to be destroyed in their wake. But when Jolene overhears something she shouldn't, she has to make the decision to be Lincoln's girlfriend or do her job and report what she knows. I HATE CLIFFHANGERS. But it wouldn't be an installment of a Vegas Aces story if there wasn't a massive cliffhanger just sitting there, taunting us. Book 4 cannot get there soon enough!

This book is setting the table for what's going to be a clash of everything that has kept Lincoln and Jolene from having a life together. The pretending to "hate" each other is wearing on them both, yet somehow they're finding a way to rekindle the sparks and feelings they had for each other since they were teenagers. With the continued assistance of Jolene's best friend, support from Jolene's boss and Lincoln's publicist some days are pretty darn hot for the two as they make the best of their stolen time together.
Of course, the outside forces that continue to drive space between them is getting more fraught with roadblocks and continued interference from Jolene's out for ruin co-worker. The hate driven feud between her and Lincoln's fathers and added recklessness of Lincoln's little brother adds even more stress to a situation that threatens to blow their secret wide open and jeopardize the one thing they both have longed for and that's to live life together. Is there a path forward that gives them this life? How are they going to keep the jobs they've worked hard for, and will more secrets become the wedge that ends them forever?
Once again, the next book in the series will lead us to the answers we seek, and Lisa has written a keep us engaged with the characters and their challenges as they move ahead to their HEA.

There is no denying the chemistry these two have and it translates to lust as they act like 2 lustful teenagers quite a bit. In their jobs should they risk getting caught for a quickie?
Lincoln and Jolene are still struggling to see if their rekindled relationship will stand the strains of their families, their jobs and everything else that is happening around them. An away event helps fan the flames but then they get sloppy. Someone is watching them and they aren’t smart enough to hire a PI to find out who? Lincoln is definitely thinking with the wrong head and still letting his father control him. Rivera is still a threat. Sam…she kind of seems like she is okay but I still have my doubts about her. Jonah wants Coach Nash around where Cade wants him gone. Lots of drama in this book.
I love the series and this book was really good but I am noticing run-on sentences and they are kind of driving me a little nuts. Many sentences are 6 lines long. I even came across one that was 7. When the subject of a sentence changes, it’s time to start a new sentence. I am finding it annoying and it is taking away from the story for me. Maybe it’s a pet peeve? Maybe I should become an editor or proofreader?
An explosion is on its way with all that is happening with Rivera, Sam these 2 and their families. I anxiously await the next book in the series.
December 5, 2023
Jolene and Lincoln are trying to spend as much time together as they can. There is still a pull within both of them regarding their families feelings towards each other. The rivalry between the two families becomes apparent at a charity event that Lincoln attends with Sam, Jolene as part of the media and their parents. Jolene’s dad begins bidding on an item at the auction, when Nash’s dad Eddie bids against him, this starts a literal pissing match between the two adults. They are both asked by Jack Dalton himself to pay for their items and leave.
This definitely brings something between Jolene and Lincoln, and the phrase “what are we doing.”
No doubt there is an undying love between the two of them, as long as their families can put aside their animosity towards each other for Lincoln and Jolene to be together. This leaves Rivera Jolene’s nemesis at work. He continues to push Jolene regarding her relationship with Lincoln and Lincoln’s relationship with girlfriend Sam. Lo and behold, Rivera keeps finding out information regarding the two of them and threatening Jolene of exposing the pictures to the public. This scares Jolene and wonders what is she doing with Lincoln.

I am still wondering who is following Jolene and getting these pictures. I wonder if it is her dad or Lincoln’s dad since their hate for each other runs so deep.
I hope tgey get their ever after!!

Lisa Suzanne is surely keeping us on our toes with Game Play. There are thrilling surprises at every turn. I am so glad that Ellie Dalton was brought in to create a plan and was put in play with moving forward so Jolene and Lincoln can start this forever kind of love that life has been holding them from. With each intimate moment that keeps getting hotter as they progress in their secret relationship. With The Nash’s and The Bailey’s coming face to face at an event which makes Jo and Lincoln ask each other the same question they have been for a while now, “What are we doing?”. However, at what cost do these two have to go through in order to get to the point of being together with all these obstacles that keep rearing its ugly head. Game Play has certainly been a very “staying on the edge of your seat” type of book and not sure when the love bubble is going to be popped from getting caught in the secrecy between Jolene and Lincoln. With adding more people in the secret, Jolene and Lincoln still keeps the fire heated with the passion they have even with a couple of times of almost being caught. Will it be Jolene or Lincoln that will take a huge risk for their career in order to save face? With two major problems that surface, its going to be nerve wrenching waiting to find out what Jolene and Lincoln decide to do with what’s been delt to them.

This is the third book in this series out of 5 and things are seriously heating up on all levels!!
Jolene is struggling with continuing to keep the relationship a secret, Jealousy is creeping in more and more.

Lincoln is having the same struggles but they both know that their relation coming out into the open would be devastating for both their careers at this time, never mind the extra damage it would cause to their already warring families.

OMG this book, I don't know how much longer their secret is goin to be safe, the wolves are circling!! Rivera is still on his quest to get Jolene's job and have her ousted. (I despise the rat!!)
Lincoln is having to put everything into his job, despite the pressures outside of getting the team in shape.

The twists keep coming, and keep your emotions on the edge of a cliff until this author knocks you off the edge with the ending... and I am in free fall!! I cannot wait for the next book!!
Once again this author takes no prisoners and hits all our hidden emotions.
Even though I adore both Jolene and Lincoln there are times I really want o lets loose on them and knock their heads together!! Both strong independent successful people, yet some of their actions will probably cause them heartache!! Yelling at this book is earning me some weird looks! Absolutely loving this series!!!

When the family feud seems to worsen overnight at a charity event where our fathers get into a public argument, we need a solution. That’s when Lincoln’s publicist comes up with a way we can work together, and it’s brilliant.

But when my father sees who I’m partnering with for my new project, he couldn’t be more disappointed. It’s further proof that there’s too much stacked against us to ever come clean with our families.

Secret trysts in his office, in the media room after a game, and at his house after I sneak over there have been exciting. But we’re both feeling the frustrations of seeing each other in secret. While we both admit we can’t live without the other, we also can’t hide our relationship much longer.

The game play is fun for now…but we both know it won’t last forever.

Each book is making me need more! Their families are toxic with the amount of hate they have for each other. Live and let live! After the cliffhanger at the end, I need the next book asap. I truly hope they manage to find their HEA as they deserve it.

I recommend reading this series, you must read book one first.

"Game Play" took a wild turn, and let me tell you, the proverbial fan was hit—hard. There was a whirlwind of emotions, but I'll be honest, the constant back-and-forth and the repetitive "what are we doing" dialogue left me a bit fatigued.

Lincoln and Jolene, both adults need I remind you, seemed to keep stumbling over the same hurdles repeatedly. What bothered me was a scene that showcased Lincoln's ability to loan out a considerable sum of money. This raised red flags in my head about his capability to distance himself from family matters and fully commit to the woman he loves. He doesn't need them and yet, he's continuously letting them interfere. Witnessing Jolene fall deeper into the complications of their relationship struck me right in the chest. The longing for their happiness intensified, yet the story seemed to circle back to the same dilemmas, making it feel a tad repetitive.

While I dying for these two to find their happy ending, I found myself wanting more substantial progress in their relationship. The story's repetitiveness dampened some of the emotional impact for me.

Overall, "Game Play" provided an emotional rollercoaster, but the recurring hurdles in Lincoln and Jolene's relationship left me craving more depth and evolution in their storyline.

"Game Play" is book 3 in the "Vegas Aces: The Coach" series. These books are continuations and must be read in order - they are not standalones.

Game Play picks up with the feud between Lincoln and Jolene's families reaching an all-time high. It boils over at a charity event where words are thrown between the parents about Lincoln and Jolene.

Lincoln and Jolene are still taking the immature route of keeping their relationship hidden while Jolene's friend Sam pretends to date Lincoln. Which is making the green-eyed monster come out to play, but Sam is still in love with her ex.

Ryan, a reporter, is targeting Jolene because he is jealous of her career and position. He is threatening to expose what he believes is her affair with Lincoln.

Asher, Lincoln's little brother, joins the team and is in serious gambling debt, which is only going to cause more problems. Especially because Jolene overheard and thinks it's her duty to report it to the league. Oh boy.

So much immaturity of these characters given their age, but if you can look past that, this series remains incredibly fun.

Game Play is the third book in the Vegas Aces: The Coach series by Lisa Suzanne, where the trouble is mounting for Jolene and Lincoln. I was riveted to the pages as the drama multiplied, and hit them from every direction! Now they’re facing more family trouble, ex drama, a sketchy assistant, the skeevy work rival, and more!! The twists and turns are angsty and exciting, and the spice level is even higher than the last book! They are straight fire together!!🔥🥵 The clock is clearly ticking on their secret, and as much as I’m ready to see them find their happiness, the sheer chaos around them makes it hard to hope. The fall out will be epic, as will the resolution. I can’t wait to see how this author toys with my emotions next!!😂 Don’t miss this rollercoaster ride, as it may be her best series yet!!

I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Game Play is the third book in Lisa Suzanne's latest football series: Vegas Aces: The Coach. This is a good continuation for the series but it seemed too repetitive to me. Jolene and Lincoln continue their secret love affair that could destroy both of their careers and their family relationships. Linc continues to "date" Jolene's best friend Sam as a diversion but both want to end it so they begin to have "fights" in public to show growing discord and explain their eventual break-up.

Whenever Jolene and Lincoln have even a few minutes alone, they are having sex. It seems like the only thing holding them together is the sex. The limited conversations they do have are always the same. They never actually try to figure out a way to be together, they just have sex anywhere and everywhere. So much so that they risk being caught and found out which I expect to be next.

I look forward to the next book in the series to see what the fallout is once they get caught. I want to see what happens to their careers and their families. I also would not be surprised if Jolene ends up pregnant by the end of this series.

9 spicy scenes

So while this story started out exciting for me after book 2 the excitement kinda simmered for me after the first few chapters.

I feel like there were a lot of different avenues we could have went down to make these better and it kinda of just hit a dud for me. Like with the ex husband and the date with the player and the auction. I felt like those could have went on a bit longer but who knows. Maybe they might come up in another book down the line.

And I feel like the podcast idea just came out of no where and was talked about for a few chapters then dropped.

And as far as the spice goes…I feel like at this point it was overdone and kind of the same each time. It got to the point where I just skimmed it to see if it was any different but it all felt like the same just different places.

And the fact that we are I introducing another drama story line but this time with Asher just seems insane to me. Like can’t we wrap the ones we have because I think we have at least 4 going on right now.

I am still holding out hope because I am so close to finishing. Right now the entire series is sitting at a solid 3.

*ARC Review*

Whew... Lincoln & Jolene are setting things on fire!!! 🥵🔥🥵

The game plan has been laid out and everything is set into motion, as they are together behind the scenes, in public he's portraying a relationship with her Best Friend, Sam.

During a Charity event, the family feud escalates as their Father's come to blows yet again. Harsh things are said & the media is all over it, casting Lincoln in a negative light, yet again. Enter Ellie (yay!!). She works her magic, again, in hopes to bring the negativity towards Lincoln to heel and plant the seed for Lincoln & Jolene to potentially come out in the open.

What could go possibly wrong? EVERYTHING...

As the season gets closer it's getting harder and harder to continue the charade. Lies, manipulations, deceit, jealousy, blackmail. It all keeps piling up. Family dilemmas. Moral dilemmas. The uphill battle is becoming harder and harder to conquer.

With everything piled against them the one thing that hasn't changed? Love. But will it stand strong while everything comes crashing down? Time will tell...

Game Play (Vegas Aces: The Coach Book 3) by Lisa Suzanne is one explosive book about the Vegas Aces football Head Coach and Jolene Bailey, the Aces Correspondent Reporter. A volatile read as Jolene and Lincoln try to hide their relationship from both families, their jobs, and the public. There is another reporter who wants Jolene’s job and is continuing to harass her. Lincoln and Jolene feel moments of uncertainty and jealousy even though they declare their love, just not out loud for everyone to know. Both the Bailey and Nash families have been vocal in keeping the hate alive for the other while Lincoln and Jolene suffer the consequences of someday soon having to choose between family or each other.
So many “what ifs” are at the end of Game Play’s cliffhanger, with Jolene saying, “It looks like I am out of options” (pg.199) when her colleague issues more threats. Overtime is book 4 of the Coach series, and it will cause events to unfold, so one will be dying to read the last book, Final Score, to have the crescendo ending with a HEA ending for Jo and Linc.

As a reader, I've been following Lisa Suzanne's Vegas Aces series with bated breath, and Game Play, the third installment, does not disappoint. The book follows the journey of Ellie and Luke, two individuals who share a deep connection despite their rocky start. Here's my take on the book:

- The chemistry between Ellie and Luke is undeniable, and their witty, engaging dialogue makes their interactions a joy to read.
- The book offers a glimpse into the lives of secondary characters, adding depth and complexity to the story.
- The pacing of the book is a bit uneven, with some parts dragging and others moving too quickly.
- The book ends on a cliffhanger, which may leave readers feeling unsatisfied or anxious for the next installment.

Overall, Game Play is a well-written and engaging read that fans of sports romance and contemporary fiction will enjoy. It is a testament to the power of love and the importance of taking risks, making it a worthwhile addition to any romance collection.
