Because even a vampire deserves a second chance.

When Jason Cook boarded the train to San Francisco, he never thought he’d see Nebraska or Lizbeth Petersen ever again. But when an unexpected turn of events threatens the woman he’d loved and lost, he has no choice but to go back and try to make things right.

Lizbeth never thought she’d see Jason again, either—and she’s not so sure she wants to see him now. Her life’s a mess, but at least it’s her mess. And after a lifetime of other people making decisions for her, she’s looking forward to finally figuring out some things on her own. Besides, Jason already left her once when she needed him. Why should she trust him not to do the same again now?

Warning: This is not a drill. Vampires are invading your favorite, small Nebraska town this Halloween. Does this mean Type-O flavored booze will soon be the new rage in Sapphire Falls? Hopefully, it won’t come to that. But you never can tell…

Unsatisfying romance-wise, but interesting world building.

So Jason and Liz knew each other over 15o years ago when he left without a kiss or word of goodbye.
They were starcrossed lovers belonging to different vampires who were feuding. Both their sires were horrid, evil, manipulative people, and I get that, but I still think he could have said something to her before he left. And he's had a LOOoOOoong time to think about it and never tried to get in touch with her since???

So now he is with a different sire and her sire has recently died. So here's his chance to go find her and make up for the callous way he dumped her.
Liz is preparing to leave town but falls back into bed with him almost immediately.

Jason was a beta hero at most. Disappointing really. I like beta heroes, but he didn't have the cojones to wipe his own ass without asking his sire for permission first.

Then there's the writing style. I found it frustrating how the writing was constantly going off on tangents. A character would think about doing something but before they do it there would be a page of other stuff that was kinda interesting but also annoying because it made everything seems so distracted.

The whole ending was a complete fizzle. Another vampire shows up and takes over and it was like there had never been any conflict between Liz and Jason ever. He never talks to her about his leaving and she never asks him.

And what's with the creepy pervert of an orange cat?

No idea about safety. There's no mention of others at all.

Going Back to Find You is a different addition to Sapphire Falls. Once you start reading, you are drawn into a world where vampires & fae creatures are alive & live alongside humans. Vampires that fall in love & live extremely long lives to suffer through if they fall for the wrong person.

Ms. Forte does a great job of painting a picture in your mind of the reality of vampires living in Nebraska. The underlying premise is one of love winning out no matter what type you are. The writer did a really good job of incorporating her World into the Sapphire Falls world including the use of several of the original characters. Even though this is not a type or genre I typically read, I enjoyed it.

Going back to find you by PG Forte
This is the first book by PG Forte that I had the pleasure of reading. I like romance and this had romance and paranormal in it as well. I must say that from the beginning of the book she had my attention and kept my attention through the whole thing. I just had a hard time putting the book down.
Jason left his true love over 160 years ago. He left because he thought that was what was best for him and Lizbeth. As it turns out, he has a chance to help her and he goes back to see what he can do.
This book was interesting to me because I am not used to reading or even knew much about Vampires but the author made sure that I was not lost and that I felt like this book was normal to me. I was learning something new as I read. I really enjoyed this book and will be looking forward to spreading the word about the book. I will also make sure that I read more books by PG Forte.

Halloween / Vampire / Second Chances / Paranormal / Romance

⭐⭐⭐/5 🌶/5

It's an okay Halloween read.

Interesting paranormal structure / world-building / Magic system? (I am unsure what to call it) I do not think I like it, but that doesn't make it any less interesting. It is a different take on the sire-bound. Having a second sire does not make sense to me, a new master sure but sire? Odd choice of wording given the definition. But I guess you couldn't go with step sire.

The conversation with Aiken at the bar was cringeworthy. I mean we had read the book up until then so why the recap and give a dumb-down explanation of what was going on?

Jason's Cook returns to Sapphire Falls, Nebraska when an unexpected turn of events threatens the woman he'd, lived and lost, he has no choice but to go back and try to make things right. This is the first book from this author that I read. If you read other books in the Sapphire series you will recognize some of the characters as I did. A paranormal romance with rare vampires & faes that is a spectacular Halloween read. Set in the Sapphire Fslls World this novella is well written & developed with no plot holes. With entertaining characters that are realistic with real emotions and flaws. The author does a great job incorporating Sapphire Falls World into a paranormal world. I volunteerily reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.

Bloodlust of a Small Town

They say there's magic in Sapphire Falls. But real vampires are unexpected. However, this tale of otherworldly creatures visiting at Halloween is well drawn, entertaining and suspenseful. Jason is first introduced as a low key, slightly less than average vampire. Transplanted from his original Nebraska to San Francisco he is selected to return to his original nest to help the now leaderless tribe. He is particularly concerned about Lizbeth the vampiress he had to leave so many years before. And so the saga continues. I don't often read vampire stories but the explanations of how this world works is integrated into the fabric of the story in a smooth and natural way. We find both Liz and Jason, star crossed lovers that they are, sympathetic yet encouraging empathy. Jason becomes a much stronger and capable person than even he expected, and Liz is his perfect match. The inner workings of this other world is intriguing and captivating. I really enjoyed this book although it's a leap out of what I typically read, that's a very positive revelation.

Jason, originally from Nebraska is now living in San Fransisco trying to live under the radar of Conrad. But when Conrad calls him to his office, Jason is a little worried, because what could Conrad possibly want with Jason? Turns out Jason's old place in Nebraska, the neighboring vampire House from where he used to live, lost their sire. When a House loses their sire, the vampires tend to go crazy and turn feral. Unfortunately, one of the vampires from this House was someone Jason loves, Lizbeth. The two were forbidden to see each other due to their sires being terrible vampires. When Conrad came to town and ended up killing Jason's sire and taking over the house, Jason went away to San Fransisco to protect Lizbeth from her sire. Now that her sire is dead, he doesn't want her to go feral and will do whatever he can to make sure that she gets the help that she needs. But Conrad's son Marc, will he be able to turn this house of feral like he's done with other ferals?

Jason is a fabulous hero. I had to say that before I start in on how charmingly Sapphire Falls is portrayed and how much I want Liz's home! As always PG Forte writes beautifully. I paused to re-read her line on vampires' rumours - look out for it in the beginning of the book. So many jewels in this story, but most of all, I enjoyed the truth in Liz and Jason's relationship. The balance between their long separation and that they felt true love was bittersweet.

PG Forte's vampires are among the rare vampire stories that I read. They're so much more than paranormal romance. They're about love and family, real life with all its tensions and struggles.

"Going Back to Find You" is a wonderful introduction to Sapphire Falls -- and I want to know about the cat!

Set in the world of Sapphire Falls on Halloween this is a heartbreaking reunion of two former lovers, vampires with sires who are enemies, who never were allowed to be together and now after over a hundred years meet again. The setting is very interesting, the Halloween party (which is found in the other Kindle world novellas too, it seems) and the people of Sapphire Falls (which one might know from the original series) and of course the ones I already knew from P.G. Fortes Children of the Night series come together quite naturally and make the story deeper. My heart broke for Jason, I was rooting for him from the start but I absolutely understand that Lizbeth had problems trusting him, I would have too. Sweet love story which made me even more interested in the Kindle world idea!

Going Back to Find You by P.G. Forte....Wow, this is a fantastic book and a great addition to Sapphire Falls Kindle World. I don't read a lot of vampire books and I think I am missing out on great books. The love story between Jason and Lizbeth was so touching, I could not put this book down. I absolutely love P.G. Forte's beautiful storytelling and looking forward to reading more of her books. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

What a great addition to Sapphire Falls Kindle World. Going Back to Find You by PG Forte. It was such a quick and easy read. It took no time at all to fall in love with Jason, Liz and of course the rest of the Sapphire Falls characters. I definitely will be checking out the rest of PG Forte's books.

This one was a bit slower paced than I prefer but still an interesting read. Forte does a good job of describing the dynamics of the vampire world and how those dynamics relate to the characters.
