'FRACTURED REIGN' is the third and final book in Caitlyn Dare's 'Gravestone Elite' series. It picks up where the second book left off.

Twists and turns finally had us all seeking answers concluded in this series, and new revelations coming to light. My anticipation levels were through the roof after how things were left in the previous book.

I was hoping for another outcome concerning one certain character, a gun, a bullet, job done, but that’s not the path this book took us on, which had me questioning that time bomb of a loose end, but all in all this was wrapped up nicely giving all characters their well deserved happy endings.

What an adventure!

Highly anticipated conclusion to a great series, and this time Cade is on the loose after the explosive ending. He remains in the shadows, but what's his agenda? This story is filled with suspense and intrigue as well as more secret society actions. The question is what does it all mean?

This book rated the highest in attention-capturing. There was never a dull moment, very action packed, from the society gatherings and intrigue to Cade's stalking. And this time Bexley is in alpha leader form while he and Mia are firmly in love. Almost sugary so. A girl couldn't ask for a better boyfriend. Of course, the story wouldn't be as engaging if there weren't tests to their love....

I enjoyed the breadth of characters in this story and the strong roles they played -- Mia, Bexley, Cade, Channing, Sasha, Alex, Tim, Fawn, Brook, and others. Cole and Hadley from the first series also made appearances. The group of personalities really enriched the story. Of course, always striking to me is the villain and how the authors endeared empathy (at least from me) for his healing and happiness. (I'm always a sucker for the villain and bad boys.)

A bit of an anticlimactic and long ending after so much suspense but still a great read. Expect a lot of steam and loving care; Mia and Bexley are an enviable couple. Love, light, empathy, and letting go are themes in this story.

AVAILABLE NOW

"Are you ready to change the future?"

Mia and Bexley's story finally came to an end and even though I'm kind of sad, I can't deny that I was craving to finally take my answers on my endless questions... Of course, after the devastating ending of the previous book, my heart needed something good to happen to these kids, but fate and Cade and Quinctus had other plans for them. Their story was too hard and the way to recovery and redemption was too long...

"Come back to me, Mia..."

Honestly, I don't really know what to tell you about the plotline without giving away things that i shouldn't. The only sure thing is that the bloody events of the previous book left both Mia and Bexley broken... Mia much more than him... And they have to find a way back to each other before it's too late...
Mia is broken beyond repair... Will Bexley's love and support make a difference or the game is already lost after the destruction that Cade left behind???
And what about Bex's new responsibilities??? Will he manage to bring Gravestone and Quinctus in the next level???

"I feel cursed. Trapped in a dark and twisted game I never asked to be a part of."

"I refuse to keep Cade's legacy alive. His reign of terror is over. Fractured beyond belief."

For once again, I loved Bexley... He was so supportive and protective, even when he was at loss.
His love for Mia was shining brightly in here and he was determined to do anything for her well-being... He is also born a leader and even though he never asked for anything that had happened to him, he can't not embrace who he really is and to lead Gravestone's new generation in a new age...

"You're mine, Mia. And I'll do whatever it takes to bring you back to me."

As for Mia??? My heart was breaking for her over and over again, but still sometimes, she was making me furious with her behaviour. Yep, the worst had happened to her when she was nothing more than collateral damage and I was feeling her pain bleeding out through the pages and at the same time, she was hunted by her worst nightmare. Cade never back down or is she losing her mind???

"I don't know how to go back to being the girl I was before."

My only objection in here is that I was expecting a little bit more of justice for a certain person... But in a strange way, I might wanted to see more of this person ... Hmm...
Also, I can't believe what I'm saying but I'm intrigued by Ashton and I even liked him, even though he was almost as hateful as Cade... Weird things had happened here, guys!!! LOL
This trilogy was really good and I totally recommend this story!!!

"Our love isn't born out of nice. It's born out of blood and pain and darkness. But together, we can walk into the light."

I’m a huge fan of Caitlyn Dare’s and will continue reading their books, but I was not smitten with this one. This should not dissuade from picking it up, though.

This is the third and final installment in the series and it was a great conclusion. Everything was brought together and ended on a HEA for Bex and Mia.

Caitlyn Dare was able to put all the pieces together in Mia and Bexley’s intriguing romance. From Chapter 1 in Shattered Legacy I was vouching for these two to make it and get their HEA.

Now, was it an easy process? No. Did they have to face many obstacles and challenges? Yes, of course. Will they get their HEA? You will need to pick up this final installment and find out for yourself.

I’m a huge fan of Caitlyn Dare’s. I fell in love with their writing when I first discovered them last year in reading Taunt Her. I loved loved that book. This one? I am not too happy with the final book to be honest

The writing was amazing and the dual POV always gets me, but I was not in love with it.

Nonetheless, they deserve their props in finalizing this story and making sure it ended with a Bang!

DNF - no rating because I did not complete the book.

I tried, I really did. I thought, “oh I’ll just skim read” that way I could find answers to a lot of my questions. Now I’m not one to DNF a book, it usually bugs the heck out of me to not know how something pans out. Then I realized I simply don’t care about this story.

There was nothing that kept me wanting to know more. Don’t get me wrong it has all the elements for things I love. There’s voyeurism, exhibitionism, secret relationships, catty bitches, noncon & dubcon, secret societies, mysteries to solve, and darkness. I simply did not enjoy the way the story was delivered. I saw through every supposed plot twist and rolled my eyes at a lot of the antics.

• The continual drugging of “friends.”
• The mentality of “I own you and your body but sit here and watch this girl ride me.” Oh and if you stay I’ll kill you both? Gross double standard without an open relationship agreement.
• The ridiculous displays of dominance and superiority throughout the series.
• Add in the numerous group sexcapades with libido enhancing drugs, essentially tricking “friends” into committing acts they never would have fathomed if sober.
• And lastly the “secret society” is so large that people, places, and terms became too much without a lexicon, family tree, or amalgamation of the two.

In the end I am unimpressed and choosing to move on.

The third and final book in the Gravestone Elite series this book wraps up Mia and Bexley's story which has continued throughout the three books.

This was a truly unique series. Although it was a college, twisty, mystery the way the books were written we go through so many more rituals and traditions than I was used to in this style of the book. These themes gave it a little something different over some other books that would fit within the same themes.

This book didn't reach quite the same highs that the first books did but was still incredible just the same.

phwew. 😅 This series is something else. *shakes head* We get our HEA here, thank gawd. ❤️

What I liked:

- Mia, our h, gets to be a true damsel in distress in this one. She's certainly earned the right to wallow. 😐 Everyone in her life has failed her in epic proportions. She's been through a terrible trauma and Bexley finally gets to shine as her support in her time of need. There's lots of crying and meltdowns and him carrying her around and comforting her. 🥺 I mean, I like that sh*t. I'm a basic b*tch, what can I say? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Mia, girl, you do you. Wallow and cling and really milk it. You deserve it. ❤️

- Bexley, our H, gets some "advice" from a friend for how to deal with Mia 😏.... and it was good advice. He takes control, so Mia doesn't have to make decisions, and... Well... I like that sh*t, too. 😬🙈🤷🏼‍♀️ #badfeminist 😅

- loads of drama and intrigue and suspense ❤️

- Bexley insists on the secret society changing so members can be with a person of their own choosing 👍🏻

- HEA 🥰

What I didn't like:

- Cade, the villain, does not get punished for terrorizing, harassing, beating and raping Mia. Mia gives him an empathetic but stern talking to and sends him on his way. 🙄And *voila* all is right with the world and she is no longer traumatized 🤨

- Bexley has absolutely nothing to do with finding, capturing, or punishing Cade. He was kinda useless in the hero department 😐

- the evil OW is just conveniently forgotten and never got her comeuppance either. 🤬 What's the point of OW drama, if she's not going to be put in her place in a brutal way?? That's all an OW is good for as a plot device. I wait for that scene. I put up with a lot of OW shenanigans, firm in my knowledge that the worse the OW is, the better the tell-off scene will be... And, yet, We Got NOTHING. 🙄

- the villain's BFF, who has been a disgusting nasty garbage human through out the series, suddenly makes a complete about face and basically becomes the hero of the story. It's never explained why he changed. It's weird. I'm guessing he's gonna get a book, but the change needed some context in this series. It made no freaking sense. 😵‍💫

Bottom Line?
- I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 3-stars.

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Bexley

Heroine : Mia

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 6/10

Heat Rating : 6/10

Triggers Involved : Rape scene (not by the h) , past Trauma

Plot Summary :
Mia went through some horrors that are too much for a normal girl. She has a normal life but ever since she became Cade's, her life has been one disaster after the other. She should have guessed that he won't stop until he ruins her and now it was too late.

Bexley was too late to save the woman he loves and now she is broken. For him, she would always be perfect but the horrors she went through are enough to destroy a normal person. He just hopes that they can overcome this but it seems unlikely since the monster who destroyed his girl in the first place is not done with them yet.

Overall Opinion :
That ending, holy shit! The ending of the second book absolutely broke me. I literally wanted to kill cade. That man is a monster and I hate him so much. Bexley and mia deserve their happy ever after and all I wanted was to see them get it.

They never had an easy tale and now with cade on the lose, things were about to get worse. I have been going crazy for this finale and it was everything I wanted and so much more! Mia and Bexley are fire and I love them so much. The side characters have my heart too and I can just tell that we have a few tales to tell yet so I hope we get more books from this series too. It's the best!

I would highly recommend this to all the dark romance lovers out there. Mia and Bexley's story has a lot of triggers and please keep that in mind before picking up this book! It's one hell of a ride.

And with that..... The series is complete!

And what a way to end it. Ms Dare certainly knows how to close a series!

Mia wakes up in hospital following the events of the ending of book two. She was seriously hurt and used by Cade, and the worst thing about it was that Q KNEW that he was dangerous and unstable and still let him go off with her......

The feelings tumbling around her are powerful and crippling. She has so much to deal with and she's not sleeping. Begging Sacha for something to help her sleep, she gets some xanax. Sleep comes, but so do visions of Cade visiting her. No one believes he's been near her as they find no proof. This is making Mia lose her mind even more and she feels more stressed and alone than ever.

Bexley is torn. He wants to support Mia, but there's no proof of cade being around and security is everywhere. He tries to help by confronting Q and by trying to distract her.... But the sparkle in her eye has gone and his girls easy smile has vanished....

We know Cade won't give up. But HAS Mia seen him? Or is it really been an hallucination caused by no sleep, stress and drugs?

What's going to happen with the Electi now? Cade was the leader. Tim would be the next in line, but if he refuses... Could bexley be it? Would he want to??

How much more death is on the cards before Cade is finally stopped? And will the couple we love finally - FINALLY-be allowed to be together?

I'm not telling you!!! Endings like this one need to be read! Not told!!! Its a great read, watching Mia and bexley grow as individuals and as a couple and how they handle all the issues and events thrown at them. You'll be feeling like you've been a bit on an emotional roller-coaster but I would say there's more ups than downs to finish off the series!

I received a copy of the book in return for an honest review

This book picks right up a few days after the crazy cliffhanger in book 2. Mia is left in pieces after what Cade did to her and it was super frustrating seeing her go through all the emotions of the aftermath. Seeing her break piece by piece but I loved seeing how Bexley was there for her.

That boy would not leave her side and when he was forced to, it nearly broke him. But he never gives up hope that she will somehow heal not only physically but mentally. This book...wow...it definitely ties up all the loose ends and it's a crazy ride. I loved seeing old characters as well. What an emotional trilogy this has been and I loved every minute of it. The part I wasn't crazy about was the ending. Ugh...what a freaking let down. All this build up, all this carefully laid and planned out plot to build up our hate and anger that was oozing from every pore to be ready to cheer and that. That. What was that?

Part of me gets why the author went where she did. But come on. Alllllllllllll of what has happened leads to that? What a disappointment. I know I'm not alone here either based on other reviews I have read. Great books but not a fan of the end.

Fractured Reign is the third and final installment of the Gravestone Elite series, and follows right after the very dramatic cliffhanger of book 2.
Bexley and Mia have had all sorts of bad luck in the previous books. Their love is strong, but the depravity and hate that is felt towards them is even stronger. And yet, this book takes "bad luck" into a whole new level... Poor Mia, my heart really went out to her with all that she went through and the pain that she felt.
The authors did a great job at writing a beautiful book that really captured the fear, the torment, the hate, the anxiousness, and the feelings of hopelessness that our hero and heroine felt.
This book has a heavy feel to it all throughout. There were no carefree moments as the previous books, and so it does feel a lot at certain points. The ending was DEFINITELY unexpected, although i loved how Mia did not let her experiences define her by seeking revenge the way we expected her to (and i do have a suspicion as to where the authors are heading to with their next series).
An amazing book!

This was a great conclusion to the series! After the last book, I won't lie, I was doubting where this was going. It was getting a little out there and I wasn't sure how it was going to play out. I was quite frustrated.

First and foremost I'm so glad Bexley was redeemed. Shattered Legacy was the first book I read by Caitlyn Dare but after reading books 1 and 2 and while waiting on the final of the series I went back and read her Sterling Prep series where Bexley was the "bad guy" in the first two books. That may be one of the few things I wish had been addressed in this series. I wish Remi and Bexley could have had that moment they deserved. I wish he could have apologized and she could have seen how he had changed, grew, and matured into a great young man.

Mia's story throughout this series was heartbreaking. She suffered so much and then after the events of the last book to not be believed by her friends...heartbreaking. In the end to see how she rose to the occasion and found her strength was inspiring.
I do feel some events were rushed in the book such as Mia and Bexley's physical relationship after what she endured at the end of the last book. However, I do realize this was the final book so some things might have been "hurried along" in order to wind everything up.

I LOVED how Bexley's character went from just trying to get through college and move on in the first book to finding his footing and becoming the leader he was born to be at the end of Fractured Reign. I love how he embraced his future and how he truly believed he, Mia, and their friends could be and create the change that was needed in the community.

I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about Cade's "ending". Part of me wanted to see him get what was coming to him but then to know his history...it leaves me torn. I do believe Mia was a stronger woman than I would have been.

All in all, a great wrap-up to a trilogy. Though I was frustrated at times during the series and rolled my eyes rolled once or twice, it kept me entertained and coming back for the conclusion.

Please check triggers if you’re wanting to read this book 🖤

I really enjoyed this series, I was gripped from the beginning with the plot twists and shock horrors throughout.

I adored Mia and Bex from the beginning and the ending was so wholesome and everything I wanted for them both. I also adored Sasha and Channing and would love to have more of their story.

I LOVED the first two books in this series and I am a huge fan of Caitlyn Dare. That being said, this is my least favorite book by the author (it is important to mention that I think this was the ninth CD book I’ve read in six months, so I was bound to find one I didn’t love eventually). This wasn’t bad... it was just very slow, especially compared to how entertaining the other books were. I usually can’t put Caitlyn Dare’s books down but with this I had to bribe myself to finish another chapter before taking a break to read something else. Maybe the month long wait after finishing book two before this released set me up for failure. I anticipated a wild ride and this was not that.

I want my time back. ugh. Much like the other two books, this one is also a constant repetition of "trust me," "I swear I have no clue," and "I can't tell you that." It's so annoying. And the ending doesn't make up for it either. So, if you were on the fence about the first book...just don't even bother with the following two.

And if you started reading this book, and can't finish it, here's what happens

--Rating - 2 stars - this series could've probably just have been a standalone. Too much repetition
--Steam - 3 stars - it's really hot, but basically the same scene over and over, so I docked points
--Storyline - 2 stars - meh
--Plot Twists - 2 stars - not sure if I would call those 'plot twists'
--Emotional Pull - 1 star - yawn
--Writing - 3 stars - comfortable to read, minus the repetition
--Denouement - 3 stars - boring
--Cliffhanger? - no
--HEA? - yea

*Same disclaimer from the other books....rape, sex, abuse, shooting, drugs, PTSD, etc....if you can't take reading any of these topics, don't go near this series.

The highly anticipated conclusion to Catelyn Dare’s Gravestones Elite trilogy is here and picks up where book two left us with that mean, heart-stopping, mind-bending cliffhanger.

The mystery, the suspense, the intrigue, the secret society dealings continue, all while finally providing us with some much-needed answers, and Mia and Bexley (hopefully?) their much-deserved HEA after all the madness they were put through. Theirs never was an easy journey, filled to the brim with torture, pain and mind games. … which is why the culminating finale was somewhat … anticlimactic. I expected something more, darker, different.

That aside, I totally enjoyed this last instalment and the wild, at times even exhausting ride it provided. I loved seeing Bex’s patience for Mia after all she went through and never giving up, seeing their bond only grow stronger, fiercer, deeper as time passed. It was beautiful.

If you’re looking for a captivating, thrilling dark second chance college romance, give this series a go!

Just finished the third and final book in the Gravestone Elite series and WHAT. AN. ENDING!

I’m going to be honest.. I read the Rebels at Sterling Prep series a while back and did not like Bexley one bit so I was super sceptical about a series revolving around him but he just completely won me over and stole my heart over these three books!

He was just the sweetest, strongest most loving guy. The lengths he went to for Mia over the course of their story were just admirable and completely undid all the bad from the first books! Him and Mia were literally perfect together.

And Mia.. she was so strong when everything should’ve broken her. Her strength and tenacity were awe inspiring.

I have loved every book of this series and the one before.. I’ve read all 9 books now and I highly highly recommend them! They’re super well written and in depth with so much mystery and so many secrets that just keep you engrossed! 🖤

This is book 3 in the Gravestone Elite series, and it follows Bexley and Mia. This series was amazing but this book in particular had me on the edge of my seat. All the sacrifices, the half truths, the schemes all just to get where everyone was meant to be. Everything that happened so that they would get what they wanted. Who would’ve thought the quarterback from Sterling Bay who was sent to live with his estranged uncle because he messed up with Remy would be just what Gravestone needed. And, the girl that was always quiet and shy and never noticed would be the one that brought him to his and helped him achieve it all. My gosh Caitlyn Dare you never disappoint me with your series. This may be my favorite one over Sterling Bay. But I still love my Cole more. Thanks for another great read.

I kept debating on how I wanted to rate this book because I kept getting annoyed with Bexley and how hard he was pushing Mia so soon after she experienced such a massive trauma. Then I realized that ability to make me feel, is once again, the sign of an excellent book. I was so invested in how Mia was feeling and what she went through that I couldn’t see it as anything but real life, in a fictional world of course. I know makes no sense, but that’s the best way I can explain how this book made me feel. Mia is so much stronger than I ever could be, because of how she handled Cade. This book is full of all kinds of drama and steam and some angst. I loved this series and would absolutely recommend it.

In the conclusion of the Gravestone Elite Trilogy, we pick up shortly after the cliffy from book 2. Could Mia and Bexley survive?

With all that Mia has been through, we see a shift in her. Bex did a great job showing her he will be there for her regardless and how much he loved her.

Caitlyn knows how to keep us on flipping pages wanting to know what’s coming next.

Great ending, definitely think this trilogy is worth the read.

4.5 ⭐️

“ I am not going to let you self-destruct. Get angry. Shout. Scream. Hurt me. Hate me… I can take it. So long as you don’t do anything stupid and you’re safe, I can take it, Mia.”

Poor Mia 😫😭😫😭😫😭😫
That’s all I can say….

I still can’t believe that EVERYONE besides Bex, allowed the Coglio to go on. They literally just handed Mia to the monsters, what did they expected to happen? They knew exactly who Cade was and still DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The stupidity continues in this book of the Q saying that they had everything under control when they clearly didn’t. I couldn’t believe stupid spineless worst friend ever aka Alex was just casually having a private orgy with girls, Ashton and Brandon when his supposedly best friend was losing his shit over everything and barely having on threads and Mia was in the hospital after been BRUTALLYYYYYY RAPED by Cade and left to die, after her parents got blown to pieces….. Really Alex?
Also felt so bad that no one including Bex didn’t believe Mia when she was saying that Cade was there and after her, believe it or not only Ashton believed her and somehow he was a good surprise in this book cause he changed for better and demonstrated his loyalty. Mia was devastated, depressed, anxious, afraid of her own shadow, she turned to drugs and alcohol to help her cause she didn’t know what else to do it. She couldn’t accept that Bex wasn’t believing her and was now one of them. In Bex defense, he was only one of them first and foremost to protect Mia, also it’s his legacy and he couldn’t escape. And he didn’t believe her because they had security everywhere and people with her all the time and Cade was just outsmarting everyone….
But what literally almost made me give this book a 1 star was the ending when Mia “forgave” Cade and allowed him to walk away alive and free ! EXCUSSSSSSE THE FUCK OUT ME !?!?!???? WHAT ??????? After he literally blown up her parents, BRUTALLY raped her and left her to die, killed Bex grandfather (not a big loss but still his grandfather) , killed countless people including a poor innocent student who had the misfortune to bump into her in the hallway mind you he MADE Bex kill him cause it was either kill him or Cade would rape and share Mia with his friends …. After all the disgusting crazy twisted things he did she JUST TOLD HIM TO WALK AWAY !!! Also Q and the Electi are such badasses and NOT a single one carried a gun to fucking kill Cade ? The only one carrying was Bex but he “respected” Mia’s decision ! I literally cannot forgive Caitlyn Dare for that…. Still the trilogy is worth reading. Full of suspense, secret society cult, romance, a little spicy, violence and all you can ask. Also loved that Bex could count on James every time that mattered. And I still don’t like nor forgive James for neglecting his sons but I now understand him a little better cause living in hell would be better than living in this horrible cult criminal society that it is Gravestone. Still think he could’ve been better to his sons but oh well ….

Fractured Reign completes the Gravestone Elite Trilogy and it was everything I was hoping it would be. These Books must be read in order. I’m hoping that we see this tribe again- I mean Ashton, Brandon, and Alex.... This book was not an easy read. It deals with sensitive subject matter, but is done in a well thought and very well executed manner. Reading the books you fall in love with Mia and Bex and you so badly want them to come out on top. Their HEA is going to be well fought for. And, Bex, turns the hotness up to scorching. And, Mia, once she reclaims her spirit- she will soar.

Fractured Reign starts is off with Mia in the hospital after the Coglio is completed. Cade is missing, she is suffering the aftermaths of Cade’s revenge, and the Election/Quinctus are showing the cracks in their foundation.

As they all move back into the Electi House and try to resume to their “normal” schedules, Cade’s disappearance and the Quinctus secret keeping is wearing them all thin, especially Mia.

Mia feels so broken and Bexley just wants to absorb all her pain. Watching her struggle is heart wrenching. But, Bexley will do anything to bring Mia back to herself. He certainly turns up the heat factor to get her out of her head 🔥🔥🔥

As the secrets unfold and this tribe bands together to forge their “new normal” on their terms, we see what their futures could possibly be. Caitlyn Dare has really brought the worlds of Rebels at Sterling Prep and Gravestone together seamlessly. Who doesn’t love to catch up with old friends.

The series is complete!

Fractured Reign, Gravestone Elite Book 3 by @authorcaitlyndare
............
“Because my mind is the enemy now.”
............
The series is finally complete! After the cliffy of book 2, I am happy to say this one wrapped up nicely... although I didn’t expect it to end the way that it did.
...........
“Our love isn’t born out of nice. It’s born out of blood and pain and darkness. But together, we can walk into the light. I know we can.”
..............
This book starts right after the epic ending of book 2! I won’t give too much away but I will say I was frustrated for Mia for most of the book. Bexley just didn’t set up as fast as I needed him to. Cade is psycho so that doesn’t change but we learned a few things about his past I wasn’t expecting. Although endearing, I still thought this would’ve ended differently.... 🤣 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it was a HEA so I can’t complain. Changes for the better so you cant go wrong. Bexley really stepped into his role and became the leader they needed him to be.
..............
"It's time for change, Mia. Who we are doesn't need to be branded into our skin. Who we are is inside. It runs through our veins. It's in our every breath."
............
The series is finally complete! If you love a good secret society and arranged marriage troupe this is the series for you! Loved these two and so happy with their HEA.

Good Book

This is book 3 of the trilogy and continues Bexley & Mia’s story after that ending in book 2 when Bexley thought he had lost everything.
I know Mia suffered trauma in book 2 but her behaviour towards Bexley started to annoy me especially as he was so supportive.
Mia shouldn’t have expected Bexley or the others to believe everything she said especially after she took so many drugs, had she stayed sober maybe she would have been believed more.
I loved Channing & Sasha in this and even grew to like Tim & Ashton which was a surprise.
I think liking Bexley at all after Sterling Prep was going to be hard but hearing how he felt and what he had done when he was high on drugs made me like him even more as he owned his mistakes and wanted to be a better person.
It was nice having the link between Alex & Hadley and seeing her and Cole again was also nice.
I’m just not sure on how I feel about Cade…. Yes when we learn of his abuse from being a child does change how I looked at him but he did plenty of bad things as an adult especially what he did to Mia when she was an innocent in all of their lives.
I don’t think he could ever be taken back in to the fold but I wonder what he would be doing out their alone or if maybe Brook was helping him in some way.

“I just…I need for it to stop.” “I need to feel like I’m not one second away from losing myself. He broke me, Bex and I’m not sure if I’ll ever—" “What are you—" “Shh. You say you’re broken, so let me put you back together. This isn’t you, Mia. You’re stronger than this. You’re so strong, baby.”

Wow! What a fantastic conclusion to this series. As we’ve come to expect, it was full of twists and action, but it was tragically beautiful. How do you help someone who has been broken, who turns to the one thing she is against to help dull the pain and suffering? Mia might be down but she isn’t out, she is angry and lashes out at Q and all that he stands for. Sick of them using her like a lamb to slaughter, but no one will listen to her as they believe she’s unstable.
Cade taunts her when she sees him from a distance, like a mirage he emerges and just as quickly is gone each time she tries to prove its not her imagination. Mia begins thinking maybe they are right and her mind is playing tricks on her, but it’s the times he visited that not only did she sense his presence but she heard and felt him. Cades threats keep running through her mind and she’s waiting for him to make them come true. Will they find him and put a stop to this lunacy before it’s too late?

Beautiful

I read this book in about 3 hours. Literally couldn’t put it down. It dealt with the fallout of book 2 in a realistic, sensitive way. One of the things that annoys me in books is when a character has a small struggle with trauma/ptsd and then gets over it in a matter of chapters. This is a far better exploration of the issues involved. I also love how the conclusion is on the FMC’s terms, fitting with her character and the progress she’s made from book one.

A couple of issues…
- I feel like the actions of the Elders were not quite explained completely.
- some characters that were particularly important in the previous books just…drop off the radar.
- we never get a real explanation of some characters’ issues that were intriguing (looking at you, Tim and Fawn).

The biggest issue of all is the lack of trigger warnings. While there is mention of sensitive content, nowhere is there a specific list of triggers for potential readers to check (including the author’s website). Given this series deals with kidn@pping, SA (including to the FMC on page), mentions of CA, st@lking, parental de@th and drûg use, I think this is not good form. I would love to see this book revised with trigger warnings added.

What a conclusion!

This book was everything. The book picks up just a couple of days after Book 2 ends. Mia has experienced incredible trauma, and the author authentically characterizes the feelings and emotions that Mia experiences afterwards.

Much of this book is spent watching Mia constantly looking over her shoulder and living in fear of Cade. Bexley is the devoted boyfriend who is also fearful but has faced the reality that he must protect Mia.

The biggest surprise is Ashton. He turns out to be a hero and becomes one of Mia’s close friends.

I think there may be people who will be dissatisfied with what happens to Cade. However, I think of you really consider the type of person Mia is, his ending fits perfectly. The reality is that she achieved what the Quinctas wanted all along.

Bexley and Mia do get their HEA, and they effect change with the way Gravestone is run.
