English title: After Marrying the Evil God

Qi Baicha was the last god in the world. He lived until the modern age, where he found an ordinary person to fall in love with and marry because life was too boring.

Then he really fell in love with him. Every day, he worried about what he would do when his partner got old and died. It turned out that his partner was also a god, and he worried about the same thing every day.

After Qi Baicha mentally prepared himself, he decided to tell his lover the fact that he was a god: “My dear, I want to tell you something.”

Fu Mingye said nervously, “My dear, I also have something to tell you. Actually, I am not a mortal, I am an evil god. Don’t be scared when you hear the word ‘evil’. Those self-proclaimed righteous gods are a group of sanctimonious things… Right, what did you want to say?”

Qi Baicha: “Actually, I am not a mortal either.”

Fu Mingye: “… What are you?”

Qi Baicha: “A sanctimonious thing.”

The evil god, who listened to every person’s hatred, curses, greed, and arrogance, fell in love with the world’s most gentle and clean snow.

“I will love you against my divinity.”

Cold and gentle snow god shou x domineering when outside, controlled by his wife when inside gong

Wow WOW WOW I really enjoyed myself finally reading this. Admittedly, this was supposed to be my first non-MXTX danmei but I foolishly stopped reading it and put it away for a bit because I wanted to 'save it for later'. Unfortunately, I forgot to get back to it until recently.

This was such a good fluffy established couple story. There was a touch of angst in some places but it wasn't bad at all. I would probably not consider it a cozy low-stakes read. There was so much adventure and different story arcs that you end up feeling so curious where the story would go with how unexpected and random things go; from reality TV show drama about a transmigrator plagiarizing and ruining the life of a musical prodigy to an isekai adventure in a world with fae, vampires, and sirens at war with each other! You don't know what would happen next! Oh, and let's not forget that brief moment of zombie apocalypse and concubine palace intrigue.

I would say that perhaps it's just be that was feeling a little bit fatigued at the tangents the story would jump but I found it a bit difficult to follow from new storyline to storyline. I did enjoy it, but it can be quite jarring. Especially when it started to tie back together and reveal things in the end. I personally struggle with time travel stories so Qi Ye jumping back in time and switching between the perspective of The other King of Gods honestly confused me. I will need to give it a reread.

But all in all I really enjoyed this story. I haven't read the extras because I intend to just review the main story (I might edit this review when I finish the extras) I won't judge the ending yet. Although I wasn't quite satisfied with the ending because I want to see more of the aftermath, how the three God Kings coexist and run things and a bit more of the side characters. However, like I said, they could be mentioned in the extras and given their own satisfying in the endings in the extras as most danmei's tend to do, so I will hold off on my judgement on that part.

Anyway, I really REAllY enjoyed this story. I can confidently say that Chacha and Qi Ye's love for each other RIVALS Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's love and devotion! Qi Ye sacrificed so much for his Chacha and these two ended up falling in love with each other several times even through reincarnation and memory loss! Their sacrifices (especially Qi Ye's) are so great and pure that no mortals or ordinary gods can compare!

Alright, that's it for my review!

I had to adjust my expectations before I could enjoy this story. Silly me started this blindly without reading the tags, and had actually thought this was a xianxia. 😂

This is a modern setting that covers multiple categories. Slice of life, school life, a bit of mystery, dog blood, transmigration, reborn, entertainment, even apocalypse and zombies—you name it, they have it. The main couple is OP (they’re both gods, so..), and you’ll be eating a lot of fluff and dog food until you’re stuffed. If that’s your thing, I recommend this to you.

For me personally, there were multiple times I was a bit bored because of those exact reasons. There was no real conflict, and I never felt worry for any of them, I knew they’d be alright in every situation. It’s not that the story is bad, I just prefer some angst in my books.

However the last part of the story finally managed to seize my heart & emotion, and I ended up loving this couple. I’m glad I’ve persisted till the end, and can put down this book with a satisfied feeling.

The relationship of this power couple is so much fun! Qi Baicha the Snow god is a beautiful, cold, reserved, righteous, sanctimonious bottom but still in control.
QiYe/ Mr Fu is the “Evil” god who is a fiercely devoted, protective, charismatic, jealous (but not in a bad way?) top who will do anything for his husband.

Lots of cute and sweet interactions and witty banter. It’s not all fluff but not very angsty either. Definitely lots of layers to this book starting in the second half. It did take me longer to read this book because I wasn’t quite into it as much as I thought I would be after reading some reviews. Still a very good read!

Intermission~
GUYS. This IS SMACKING SO HARD. SMACKS TO THE MAX. Its funny, im reading this story on a google doc form 😭💥 and i have the google doc app downloaded already so its mad easy to read and it has a light and dark mode for comfortability!! Anyways, the story smacks. We have Qi Baicha and Fu Mingye. I love them so much and wish i started this summarization earlier to read back on. I love that they are already married and in love with each other since the start. The translation is crazy good and i love the little translator notes. Ive been meaning to get back into danmei and read more danmeis! This was person honestly and im very pleased with the story. The story? Oh yeah its insane, we have gods and different worlds and EVEN TRANSMIGRATORs??? its hilarious the amalgamation of all these different tropes and story genres because this is wuxia and fantasy and modern??? All in one??? yeah its crazy and i love it.

Intermission pt2.
GUYS, i finished the story and..... it slapped. This story is such a feel good, silly, dramatic, almost nonsensical piece of literature. One of my absolute favorite things abt this story is the God discord. I cannot stop smiling and giggling whenever it is mentioned because what the fuck 😭. Its so so SO funny i cannot get over it. Anyway this story was good, it got kinda complicated with the traveling back in time yadda yadda but the romance was good and the comedy was top tier. I rlly enjoyed seeing so many different tropes in this story. I didnt think it would be able to pull it off well but it did! Some of my favorites was the side couple between a system and human. Loved seeing the payback of a transmigrator who has killed many people and destroyed many worlds. I loved when Qi Ye and Qi Baicha went to the mortal realm to experience a teenage love story. Very good story and very good translation of it too!!

Chapters ~

1-5: Had me HOOKED, love how lovey dovey Fu Mingye (fmy) and Qi Baicha (qbc) are.

11-15: GUYS. I forgot the chapter but LOVED fmy's and qbc's first encounter. qbc thinking that fmy is the ultimate scumbag by pulling up in his fancy ahh car and straight up saying "let me pursue you". I WAS GIGGLIN. and the fact that fmy came down to civilization just to get to know qbc because he is such a pure soul??? And hes never seen anyone without evil or malice in their thoughts.

16-20: FORESHADOWINGGGGG. The rings, lovely story behind the rings, LOVE the mermaid lore and especially the lore behind the dragons eye ring that qbc gifted for fmy. Like??? The guy in the dark cloak, could it be fmy who saved qbc from that fierce dragon?? Maybe! im gonna bet it is! (we were right)

38: GUYSSSSASS. GAGGEEDDDDDD. ABSOLUTELY GAGGED. I LOVE QI BAICHAS CUNNINGNESS. cuz like. ARGH HE ATE BEO. ok ok, Loved how qbc was able to expose Qi Yirou (sing system plug in user) by absolutely destroying her entire career (RIGHTFULLY SO, she plagiarized music from Meng Xing to get famous) heres a quote:

Qi Baicha's slender fingers were placed on top of the desk

The director instantly saw the ring on his finger.

'My Husband is the shows biggest investor' Qi Baicha looked down at him 'You listen to him, he listens to me, Now do you know who has the right to speak?'
absolutely gagged.

38: quote:

Heaven has closed its eyes, and reason has fallen asleep; no one can do anything.

Therefore I am.

GAGGGGGGEDDDDDDD

41: quote:

The tears of a god are not shed for the enemy.
Then they arent shed for your own life and death either?
no
Then for whom?
For the common people.

Gagged.

44: im so dead guys. After pascal was absolutely murdered by Qi Ye (fmy) bro came back to say to qbc that it was his husband that did it when qbc was like "hello uh why did bro run off??"
no but pascals phrasing of it has me so dead, quote:

it was your beloved who came on his main account and casually killed me

LIKE HELLO? MAIN ACCOUNT? THAT SHIT IS SO FUNNY TO ME
Also also, crazy but what if Qi Ye is the like the king of Gods? HELLO? Why does Fu Mingye have no recollection of him obliterating pascal??? (he was indeed a king of the gods and traveled back in time to save his beloved husband)

55: Guys im loving all the side stories that we are getting from the other dimensions. Like. pls. World 453 has this love square happening between an elf god and the other gods, dwares vampire and sea god. In the end the vampire god got w the elf god and GUYSSSSSSS. OH NAHH ITS SO CUTE I lowkey want a story of them too.
SIDE NOTE, qbc and fmy have finally met with their god titles and they have the worst impression of each other and im gonna scream when they meet with all the beans spilled and realize that they fought for each other for the spring of life water. Also next chapter is called "Exposed" DOES THAT MEAN THEY FINALLY KNOW WHO THEY RLLY RLLY ARE? We shall see.

56: gonna fucking explode. all cards are on the table

The two gods looked at each other for a moment, then suddenly laughed at the same time....
They really were just... two fools.
Two fools who were deeply in love with each other.

65: IM BACKKKK, Okay okay lets summarize, Yan Yuecen, love his character and love the little bond he has made with the top student learning system An Jing. They are super cute friends together and im glad that An Jing is encouraging the delinquent Yan Yuecen to turn away from his old ways!! So its interesting to see that Yan Yuecens step mother is such a schemer, her next target is ofc going to be Fu Minye (Qi Ye) because of his wealth and status. Im excited to see the scene of Qi Ye and qbc at her birthday banquet because you already know Qi Ye is absolutely not going to pay any attention to her as she tries to seduce him! AHHH so good so good.

This pair of husbands was truly unreasonably good looking.
she thought - win them all over
watching an affectionate couple turn against each other for her become love rivals and come to blows to fight over her, that really was too interesting (HA, little goes she know, 65)

if we couldn't be together for a lifetime then i'd spend a lifetime remembering him(66)

72: Guys this novel is crazy. This novel is basically trying to explain everything ever in the world. One point that was made, that I have thought of before, was how a whole world/universe is created from a novel. Ive thought of that before with books that are so fantastical and well written that it had to have been a biography of another world yk? Anyway its so cool and wack that this novel takes all these ideas into the story BUT ALSO WE GET A FOURTH WALL BREAK?????

72 Quote:
"He is a danmei novel's male lead"
Qi Ye paused, then specifically emphasized: "1V1, HE. His cp with me is canon"

Guys. idk fourth wall breaks are FREAKKKYYYYY also 1v1- monogamy
HE- happy ending, cp-couple

73: guys shut the fuck up because, the fourth wall keeps fucking breaking. JinJiang City is a publishing company in China, it goes beast mode on a ton of books such as my beloved Tian Guan Ci Fu. BUT ANYWAYS. Qi Ye's and Su Yu's reciting of the intro or ig site slogan(??) for JinJiang City Publishing was hilarious especially when they were done and Su Yu yelled "sister!" and wanted to hug Qi Ye 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Guys. Tender af and GUYS, the convo between Qu Baicha and Qi Ye was also cute af and felt like such an intimate convo between two lovers. Like guys. I want what they have 😭😭😭😭

81: okay! apocalypse over!! Now we moved on to the final arc and and and WE HAVE AMNESIA QI YE! Love this trope cant wait to see more of it!

82: chapter is called "Cut Sleeve" and it was qbc putting his foot down on qi ye's sleeve and qi ye, the super serious and evil god cut his sleeve at the provocation of qbc. Bro said "see if you commit this crime again your foot will end up like this silk!!"
I rolled my eyes like, hes so silly pretending to threaten his husband when in his heart he can never hurt him. so silly ❤️
Quote: To him, in order to not let the snow God disappear, only then did the worlds existence have meaning.

97: Quote: The white snow was born in the arms of the black night.

98: Quote: Later, people would find out snow always silently landed in the middle of the night during winter, noiselessly melting under the sunlight. And when the snow fell there would be dark clouds in the sky.
The world was vast and there were beautiful myths everywhere.

100: Quote:
The word "love" was supposed to ve invented by humans.
But a god was the creature to understand that emotion.
Qi Ye used the divine language to create a new word: "Chacha, I love you"
SO FUNNY, so the couple black and white snake taught chacha that if u like someone you copulate w them. Qi Ye was eternally grateful and this quote came from his gratitude 😂
What the hell, who came to give thanks while looking like they were going to wipe out an entire family!

104: Quote:
Loving you is also my timeless insistence.

116: Quote: Our fate was initiated by you, and our love was tied by me.

I'm rating this 4.5 stars. It never got draggy as things were quickly resolved. It even has quirky tweaks to usual tropes, like how there was this world where the former villain retained his former memories and wanted to take advantage of a cannon fodder character again, but the cannon fodder ended up being a person who had transmigrated LOL. Funnier is that they never did play a role in that arc; they passed away so early haha.

The negation is that the time traveling somewhat became disordered for me. I found it difficult to pinpoint the source of the loops. Maybe I just don't want to think about it. Getting to read about their romance is more than fulfilling enough. Qi Baicha and Qi Ye are very much meant to be, starting from just being a pair of formless qi of a primordial world to being king of the gods 2 and 3. I loved that part when they just newly obtained godhood, particularly because of the lore of why the snow fell at night or why there's no harsh sun during winter. The representation of how he was the dark sky that embraces the white snow was so soft. We get to see them in many tropes and settings: CEO romance, school youth, yandere, etc. It's refreshing!

On a side note, I used to think that it was odd for Li Jin to wait around a year and plot for two relatively weaker gods, our main characters, to fight each other to death given that he could've just committed deicide himself. That is, until, I backtracked and found out that it was because he would risk getting found out by the king of the gods Yan Zhao. I didn't read this in one go, you see. I paused for weeks midway because of academics.

A really interesting story! I started it thinking it was going to be a slice of life, from a godly perspective, but it's actually so much more!

It feels a bit more like a qt / endless flow story. There are interesting arcs where all sorts of things happen that defy logic. But in the end, everything makes sense and wraps up into a pretty epic explanation story.

I personally loved the ending. It felt so epic and satisfying. Plus, we got to see some beloved side characters again. I can't believe how much the author made me love the tyrant emporer. And I feel like there's another book waiting to be read regarding the demon and God pursuit.

This was such an interesting story, and while I didn't ever feel the need to binge read it, I never lost interest as well. I felt like the author knew exactly when to end the story on a high note.

This starts with a rom-com theme of secret identities, with Qi Baicha as the Snow God and Qi Ye as the Evil God. Very witty and fast paced comedy in the first ten or twenty chapters. There's also small episodic cases where we see their powers and the sort of obstacles they face.

Then, half way through, the author just went and put every single trope they could and mashed it in...which is certainly a choice. I mean, it was fun! And there were some hilarious scenes, but it felt like a genre shift.

Kind of felt needlessly complex and long winded towards the end especially. I will give it points for not having excessive relationship drama however, and the cuteness of the couple.

The translator has done a marvelous job though! So kudos to them!

I really loved reading this book mostly due to the insane plot. I love the plot twists and turns. Sometimes the author is too direct about what’s happening. But it is so exciting to read since it’s about changing worlds and people. There is so many fun extra side couples who get to develop on their own without taking away from the main couple. Also the fact they are married is the best 😭. Okay thanks .

If you like no drama between the couple (unless you count drinking vinegar as drama), established relationship, little to no angst and all the tropes you can think of (I'm not kidding, there's everything here from same bed to idk zombies) then this is the book for you.

I felt like it got more and more ridiculous each arc but you know what? I liked it, I enjoyed it and it was very light, quite fluffy so only read it if you're in the mood for that.

A solid 4🌟/5

"I will love you against my divinity."

I loved this so much 😭 their story as a couple is so touching, and the world building was really interesting. Every question that I had while I was reading was answered clearly.

This really became one of my favorite danmeis ever. The extras were really fun too!!! 😭 I'm gonna miss them a lot.

One of the cutest danmei I have ever read.
Their love story seemed a bit cliche at first but it’s done SO well. Everything they went through both the happy and sad moments were too much for my heart.
Definitely my new comfort novel.

It has a similar comedic setup of two husbands hiding their identities from each other like in Mr. Melancholy Wants to Live a Peaceful Life. However, I felt like this novel placed more emphasis on anticipating the reveal than on the humor.

After the reveal, it wasn't as humorous anymore and instead switched to different genres. The translator did a good job of setting expectations ahead of time that this novel is genre bending, but if that's not your cup of tea, this might not interest you.

This book was super charming! I enjoyed the couple’s dynamics! Qi Baicha and Fu Mingye are truly built for one another. The novel often made me laugh out loud because of how the main couple would interact with each other. The build up to the reveal of them both being gods is one of the most fun parts of this novel because both of them are SO bad at interacting like normal human beings and it’s so funny to see them both attempt to hide their divinity from one another. I would 100% die for Qi Baicha and his chuuni husband!!!

I will admit that I got halfway through the book but stopped for a few months. When I picked it back up a few days ago, I powered through the entire second half and still really enjoyed it. However, I feel like this is the consensus for many of the other reviews. I think the second half becomes more difficult to read because the author suddenly puts tons of tropes in the story, and it gets very convoluted near the end. I genuinely could not tell what was going on for a while reading the last few chapters, but it wrapped up nicely! The tone definitely shifts into something slightly more serious near the end, but it still feels humorous overall, in my opinion.

This story is great if you don’t take it too seriously! It has no substantial angst, so the stakes are very low and you never get really concerned for the main couple. I gave this 4 stars because I had a lot of fun reading it. Also, the translation is SO good!! Major props to them!!
