She’ll be my revenge. She’ll be the person I’ll carry it out on. Her family’s sacrifice. There’s no disappointment, really. It will be even sweeter this way.

*faints in fangirl*

Y'all. If you know me even a little, then you know that I have a thing for the mean ones. I'm talking about the uber alphaholes. I'm talking about men so toxic, you love to hate. Look, I like them mean and jaded, okay? Like if I don't spend at least half the book wanting to c*ck punch them, I don't want it. And Mason Hill? Oh my ovaries. It just doesn't get more toxic than a man you spend the entire book wanting to punch in the throat. And I love him so much!!
I want to destroy Charlotte Van Kempt. I want to break her in every way there is under the sun. I want to put her back together afterward and break her again.

Clearly I have been sleeping on Amelia Wilde, because the woman knows how to bring the mean. This was so delicious, I don't even have the words. You have the cold and ruthless billionaire set on revenge at all costs. You have the sweet and innocent woman who's caught in the crosshairs of some dark family history who becomes the willing sacrifice.
I put a hand on her hip and pull her forward at the last minute so she falls between my knees and has to push herself back up. No hiding the quiver in her chin now. No hiding the dimpling skin there. I’ll get tears soon. It’ll be fucking delicious.

Mason is a character who's full of depth, even though we only get quick glimpses of his vulnerable side. The majority of this book shows his dark, ruthless, and calculating side. A man with a sharp tongue and an appetite for pain.
I expected her to break. I went looking for the limit of her humiliation, and I found it. Now we can have some real fun.

Prepare for a binge read of a story, friends, because this is not a book you'll be able to set down once you start it. It was addictive and dirty. It was so. freaking. good. When I tell you I read it in one sitting, I mean I couldn't put it down for even a minute. I was desperate to see just a glimpse of Mason's soft side and instead I was hit with a cliffhanger to painful, I think I saw stars from the force of that two by four.

I am desperate for my next fix and will now be binging on Amelia's entire backlist. BECAUSE OH MY GOD!!! The ultimate revenge plot. The ultimate alpha hole. And the most delicious story bringing it all together.

“Tell me, sweet thing, do you regret signing this pussy over to me? Are you sad that no other man will be able to hurt you first?”

I look into his eyes, my voice taken from me. It won’t cooperate. “No,” I say. He reads the shape of the word on my mouth. “I’m not sad.”

He kisses me with another anguished groan. I can taste myself all mixed up with clean mint. Mason pulls away, breathing deep. Emerald eyes search my face. Whatever he sees there makes him circle my throat with his hand, push my head up, and lean down to speak directly into my ear. “Then break for me. Bleed for me. Show me how much your sweet little virgin cunt loves my thick cock.”

I'm not sure how Amelia does it, but she makes me fall ass over tits for each and every one of her book boyfriends! Mason Hill is everything you love about an alpha asshole. He's such a prick, but there are reasons for that....

I loved the banter/bromance with his siblings and his friends, which if you've met Hades from King of Shadows and Leo Morelli you'll know who I'm talking about. And if you don't you'll want to meet them because they are so god damn hot.

The sexy times were hot AF as always. The things Mason does with his belt will have you moaning and wishing you were Charlotte... Thanks again for taking me to Jizz City Amelia.

Get ready to fall in love/lust with Mason Hill. He's going to make you swoon, melt and moan his name. Maybe after you throw your e-reader. I'm just sayin'.

Amelia Wilde's books always sound good until I read them. It has happened at least three or four times by now and yet her blurbs and covers always pull me in and I never learn my lesson.
The writing style just doesn't work for me. It's cold, almost clinical and I don't feel anything for the MCs. Her heroes are intense bordering on abusive, and while I'm usually all for that, I can't find any humanity in her heroes because they sound so mechanical.
Another issue I have with this is that almost all her books (that I've tried) read the same. Same dynamic, same interactions. The chemistry is a little forced, close to nonexistent, but that might just be because the writing style doesn't convey it to me.
This was a slow burn, but I just wanted it to be over, not for them to finally bone, which is a bad sign.
She has another book coming that, of course, I fell for, so I will give her one last chance before I say adieu.

5 Amelia Wilde At Her Best Stars
* * * * * Spoiler Free
Reading Amelia Wilde has become a journey for me. Her books can be intense, they can bring questions of behavior to the forefront, and leave you with more questions after it is all said and done. Questions you may ask yourself wondering what your personal actions would have been if confronted the same way as the woman in this situation.

But what you might think you would have done in Real Life and what was done in the book matters little because Amelia Wilde has constructed a universe where she is in control and we are her willing audience.

Ms. Wilde's flair of internal dialogue and realizations for both her main characters takes us full force from the first page and carries us to the end. Oh, we may have ideas of the whys for their actions and truth always comes to the surface, but it is the way we experience it all that is so in keeping with all the Wilde books.

Our people are connected by an event that causes them to do a dance that only one partner knows the intricate steps. He will lead this and when he is done with this partner he plans to discard and rejoice. However, there may be other factors he has not anticipated, like the pull and sweetness of his targeted victim.

Readers, get ready for something engrossing and block out your day to complete this. Be prepared, this is only the first real step on this "Net Worth" Adventure. There is a cliffy, no surprise, and I venture the next book, Hostile Takeover, will be a doozy.

As part of Mason revenge, Charlotte has to sign a sex contract.
Her body belongs to him.

descriptiondescription

But sweet, innocent Charlotte likes the pain Mason gives to her.
She likes being her sex toy.
And she will do anything to save her family.

descriptiondescription

What Charlotte always wanted, is to make clothes, be a fashion designer, and selling her clothes on the internet, is how she manage to pay the bills.

descriptiondescription

Mason only thinks about revenge, but a lot of surprises is on his way.
I loved the Hill siblings.

description

One thing in Amelia's writing, she always interacts in an amazing way her characters.
We can read about Leo Morelli and Hades.
Everything connects.
Most of the authors can't do that.

Hero plot's revenge against heroine's father and his business.

Her Father inflicted destruction and immense pain to the hero and his family.

Attraction is immediate between the two MC.

Hero revises his plans to use the heroine as part of his revenge.

Chemistry and sexual tension very prevalent throughout the story.

Some mystery.

What I really loved was the hero's family and their dynamic's and interaction.

What I hated was the heroines father.

Part of the lower rating due to heroine not standing up to the father.

Another reason for the lower rating was some parts did drag a little.

But have to say I am hooked on this storyline and plot. And the HEA for these two.

Both character's had me engaged. Though I didn't care for them at times I could definitely she character development and growth for both.

On to book two.

I have to add this author is somewhat new to me. But I am nervous as I did start one of her books for a series but it went down a road that is a BIG no for me. I believe strongly that author's need to put warnings or advise in the synopsis if there are triggers. I do NOT like or read books where the hero shares the heroine or MMF, etc... That is a total no for me. So with that said I researched this series and it looks safe. Any future books I read of this author will be after the whole series has been published and I have read the reviews, as I need to know that they are safe. Or the author could be so kind and put warning, which would be something I would respect greatly.

“I’m worth something. I’m worth enough that he wanted me.”

Oh, boy...that ending!

So after devouring Dark Reign earlier this week, I just needed to binge on more from this author. Holy Mason Hill! Talk about a dimensional anti-hero who I spent most of this book hating...maybe I love him a little too. He's out to avenge the death of his parents and plans to use Charlotte as his primary weapon to do it. What he wasn't expecting was for Charlotte to turn his world upside down.

"He sent his daughter to face my wrath. She'll be my revenge. She'll be the person I carry it out on. Her family's sacrifice.
There's no disappointment, really.
It will be even sweeter this way."

Let's just say, the plot for this book reminded me of the film Indecent Proposal, minus Woody Harrelson. The author kept a great balance of the push an pull here between these characters. Mason is convinced that if he hurts Caroline, he'll gain his hugely sought after revenge over her father, and that it'll afford him the closure he needs. Charlotte is 20 years old and she's very innocent. She's been thrown into the middle of her family's mess. She wants to do the right thing, even if it costs her.

18982996

There were a few times that Charlotte and her devout loyalty to her family kind of irked me, especially at the end. I get that she is young and maybe it is hard for me to put myself in her shoes but...the writing was on the dang wall, chick. There's loyalty and then there's denial. Her internal monologues kind of got repetitive for me too.

I would love to see her character come back swinging in Hostile Takeover.

One thing that is noteworthy, I loved and super appreciated how the business references in this book were detailed and accurate. I cannot tell you how rare this is! So many times, the big business mogul billionaire has no f*cking idea what he's talking about, over simplifies, and glosses over ALL the details when it comes to the business dealings in the book. Being someone who works in the business field, it's insulting. That was not the case here.

This is a slow burn at first but once the heat kicked in, it was sexy AF! I really don't know what to say about the steam in this book actually. I guess I felt kind of like Charlotte. I know I wasn't supposed to like it...but I did.

"Tell me, sweet thing, do you regret signing this pussy over to me? Are you sad that no other man will be able to hurt you first?"

This is the start to what will surely be a great series and I am here for it! I am interested in knowing more about Mason's siblings too. Especially Jameson! Can't wait to see where the story goes from here after that ending!

Recommend this one to all revenge trope lovers and fans of alphahole heroes.

"“A piece of advice, Ms. Van Kempt.”
“What? What?” Breathless. I fucking love it.
“If I give you the choice to walk away from me, take it. This is the last time I’ll give you a second chance.”

This author sure knows how to write a great anti hero - one that will have you falling to your knees for him in admiration, but also want to knock him down a peg or two when he is beyond cruel with his actions/words.

Mason Hill was that perfect anti-hero. He was cold, calculated and oh so cocky. He knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid or too timid to go all in for it. The one thing he built his empire around was getting revenge on the one man, the one family who he hopes burns in hell.
Except, he got the shock of his life at the most pivotal meeting of his career when in walks the gorgeous daughter of his most hated enemy.

Charlotte is naively trying to help her father and doesn't know what she's walking into when she makes this business meeting with the ruthless billionaire. Mason is someone that you want on your side and could just be the one who could help her family's livelihood.

Little does she know now she just walked in to throw down with the devil himself. She played so perfectly into his hands. The sweetest ones always bring the most tears when they fall to their knees and he is determined to make it hurt.

This book was an intense ride with a jerk who you hate to love, a strong young woman just wanting to make things better no matter the cost and twists/turns I never saw coming. Man was this one hot too!! I can't wait to see what happens in book 2!!

What a delicious beginning to what will surely be another favorite series from the always enticing Amelia Wilde. Revenge, manipulation, desire, and deceit- and a naughty proposition.

After that delectable prologue from the Proposition, I was so ready to dive into this story. And, truth be told, it stalled a bit for me at first. Not because the writing wasn’t great, not because I wasn’t intrigued by Mason’s vendetta and his cunning business acumen or Charlotte’s admirable resilience and humble tenacity, but more so because I was waiting for that Amelia Wilde zest- that unbridled creative originality that has set her prior series apart. Because the plot architecture is, well, a bit generic on the surface- amazingly enjoyable, but not a story we’ve not explored before. The self-made billionaire on a quest to destroy the man who ruined his family finds the perfect opportunity to not only destroy said enemy’s business but also own his beloved, innocent daughter. A proposition, a contract, and a stoic and altruistic daughter suffering because of the mistakes of her family, but resolute in her willingness to do whatever it takes to same them. But once the groundwork was laid, we soon discover that the magic of this story isn’t so much in its architecture, it is in its chemistry. That Amelia Wilde flair comes through in the emotional and sexual dynamic of this arrangement between the embittered billionaire and his trapped ingenue. And from there, I was hooked by what was happening between these two- taboo, sensual, unexpected, and of course, an infamous belt.

Mason is the character triumph of this story. Alaphahole, ruthless, punishing and cunning- but Amelia gives him dimension immediately. Brilliantly juxtaposing Charlotte’s Mason with the Mason that is the caregiver and loving patriarch of his family of younger siblings. So we find empathy with him straight away- we see the full depths of his coldness, but we’re also hugged by his warmth. And soon that warmth starts to bleed into his complicated dynamic with Charlotte, as his punishing urges come less out of malice and more out of desire and connection. He’s a magnetic mix of cold dominance and alpha tenderness- and unlike some of Amelia’s other heroes, we get some softness in him straight away. He’s truly an intriguing hero, and I loved being in his head. Charlotte is a character I feel like we know a bit less- she’s so consumed by her family troubles as well as her arrangement with Mason. But, there is a kindness and generosity to her that makes her very compelling, that makes me excited to know her more. And she has a quiet strength that is admirable- she shows compassion for people who genuinely don’t deserve it from her, like Mason- and that is because she has a character integrity I’m looking forward to unpacking more. And I loved her internal struggle she has.

This is a slower burn- but once the heat kicked in, my heart went into overdrive. Again, the star of the story is their chemistry- that is what makes it unique. It’s got dimension and nuances that are captivating and sexy, and now that that Amelia has unleashed the full potential of it upon us, I’m ready for more. This story did get its hooks in me- and I can’t wait for what’s next!

Amelia Wilde knows how to write an ahole alpha. This much is true. Because I seriously switched from wanting to kill Mason to f*ck him to wanting to cover him in some kind of protective blanket because for the love of god, my obsession with Amelia's alphas with deep issues knows no bound. And this story stands apart because of the heroine too. Charlotte is so fierce, so pretty and so soft. Her strength is truly inspiring. Their story started as a revenge plan and a filthy proposal but as the plot unfolds, it becomes so much more. You can expect all the dirty, filthy and crazy hot chemistry. You can expect all the twists and turns and you will feel like your heart and head are going to explode. And that cliffy? She is lucky that i didn't call a hit on her ( and that's only because I need the next two stories!)

If you want an extra spicy book with a book boy so toxic but you can't help but love him then Net Worth by Amelia Wilde is for you!

This book follows Charlotte Van Kempt, who is sweet and innocent, trying to save her family business who makes a deal the ruthless Mason Hill, her body in exchange for Mason saving her family. This book was addicting from the steamy scenes to all the secrets and plot twists, I was on the edge of my seat. The tension between Charlotte and Mason was soo good. They love to hate each other but they can't help the attraction they have for each other.

"I'm not on my knees. And I'm not begging."
"Not yet."

Oh man, my next obsession is here and he is in the form of the most gorgeous species ever graced the pages of my Kindle...Mason Hill on the path of Vengeance...🔥🔥🔥

Charlotte and Mason had a tricky start but the chemistry between them is inevitable. To get a long lasted revenge on her Father, he decided to target the man's biggest weakness... but what he didn't anticipated was the strong willed, full of determination Charlotte hiding behind the fragile facade. Maybe Mason will be the one ending up in the ruins.

I always love a good Revenge Trope...but this one even though being the usual trope had that something new here. The characters, world building, crossing over of previous characters HINT: HADES😏🔥...Everything ended up this book being one of my top read.

Also I loved how the book started with a Revenge on focus then we got to know other secondary characters (definitely going to need their books😭❤🔥), saw Mason as being anything other than a Ruthless business man and fall more for him...seriously a great beginning for a twisted tale of love and Vengeance..

Mason Hill! You think you want to hate him but you can’t help falling for him!

”Charlotte Van Kempt is like the sun fighting through thick clouds. The scent of her reminded me of fresh air. Of possibility. Many, many filthy possibilities.”

Charlotte is sweet, innocent, loyal and hardworking. She doesn’t realise exactly what she’s signing up for when she accepts Mason’s diabolical proposition. She’s ashamed and humiliated but also mortifyingly aroused and lustful. She wants to believe the best of her family, as she tries to understand what drives Mason’s hatred.

”I want more of the intimacy between us. More of his pain in exchange for mine.”

Mason is bent on his revenge against Charlotte’s father, and his daughter is the perfect weapon. Unfortunately, he never expected her to have quite an effect on him. He hates the feelings she evokes yet he craves her. Whatever happens, she’ll pay for the sins of her father.

”My want for her has burst like a diamond into a million cutting shards. Each one of them refracts things I can’t want and can’t have.”

OMG! This book was a roller-coaster ride! For all his coldness and his brutality, there was no denying that there was a softer heart that beat behind Mason’s fine suits and mantle of power. I admired his resilience and tenacity in getting his family fortunes back to where they were before and more. He was a man to be reckoned with – a demanding, commanding a-hole. I loved that he realised his vulnerability where Charlotte was concerned – he recognised it, yet shoved it away. When he was with her, his control was close to breaking point each time. When he wasn’t with her, his thoughts were obsessed with her. There was almost a desperation in the tone of his desire for her. When he finally gave in – OMG! *fans self* Charlotte was really something – as young and innocent as she was, she had grit and a solid backbone. She did what she needed to do even though her father appeared to constantly underestimate and patronise her. I adored her own resilience and tenacity in pushing through. These two were a perfect, scorching match. Mason teased her mercilessly until he couldn’t hold back any longer. They were FIRE!! Cannot wait for the concluding book!!

"And then she smiles, and my entire heart leaps for it like it's trying to reach the edge of a windowsill before a long, hard fall."

Oh my goodness y'all- this book consumed me and Mason Hill is definitely my new book boyfriend! I was so intrigued with this book back when I first read the proposition and it definitely delivered with the revenge vibes and chemistry between Mason and Charlotte. Mason is definitely torn between his need for revenge on Charlotte's family and his ever growing feelings for her. And when I saw how deeply he cared about taking care of his siblings, he just pulled at my heartstrings. Charlotte know that she should resist Mason, but she can't help but fall for his charms (and her naivete definitely shows up here). There are some slow burn vibes here but when these two are together, they lit my kindle on fire with their chemistry. This is book is on the darker side but I was definitely feeling every moment! Can't wait for the next book and more of this fabulous couple!

I think it's a shame because usually I do like this sort of concept in books but I just don't think it was executed particularly well in this book.

The version I read included the prequel (The Proposition) which I would recommend reading since it is the context you need.

I was surprised when I started this book to discover its in the same world as the Midnight Dynasty collection with a cameo from Leo and Haley (Beauty and the Beast Trilogy) - which I haven't read. Even though I don't think you get major spoilers, if it is on your list I would recommend reading that one first. This is I suppose a "stand-alone" in the world but not really connected to it.

Overall, I'd say the book started to get better towards the end so I would read the next books in the series since I see the potential but I won't be desperately waiting around for it.

What an incredible escape into a revenge romance between Mason and Charlotte. Amelia did a great job developing the character of Mason and his backstory and his relationship with his siblings. While as much as I wanted to dislike him and his bully ways his backstory left me hoping for the best in him. Charlotte was a well developed heroine who is naive to her father's previous dealings while simultaneously trying to save the family business. This story had a lot of depth to it and had me devouring it as well as some hot steamy times. It has an incredible ending and I definitely need the next part of the story sooner than later.

Since discovering her books when she made Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon come to life, this author has crept her way into my must-have one-click authors. There is just something special about the way that she not only crafts a story but creates characters that jump off the pages. Especially, her leading men. Even though they have tendencies that would make me run for the hills in real life, it seems to draw me to them like a moth to the flame. This most assuredly was the case in this book.

Mason started out as a secondary character in the aforementioned books, yet, somehow he stood out. I wanted to know more about this mystery man and I received my wish in this book and the prequel, The Proposition. Despite, his need for revenge and Charolette being the perfect outlet, there was more to this man than meets the eye. He is fiercely devoted to his family and I adored that. I also liked watching the moments of vulnerability behind his fierce exterior. I was drawn to that knowing that the facade that he showed to the world was just that; a facade. He was ruthless because he had to be not because it was innately part of who he was.

Charolette was intriguing also. I liked that she fought so hard for her family and that even though she tried to fight it, she was also mesmerized by Mason. Even though she was a pivotal character in this story, she didn't really capture my attention until the last portion of the book. This was no fault of her character, it just was because Mason was that much of a draw. Once, she seemed to see behind his armor and surrendered, so to speak, I saw so much more potential in her. Especially, as she had been fighting with this sense of honor and loyalty, as well as the burden of holding her family up, that I felt her horror at the possibility that her family was anything but golden like she thought it was. I can imagine that would not be an easy thing to acknowledge. I look forward to where this goes next in terms of her character growth and how that mixes with the persona of the almighty, Mason.

It was great having a cameo, even if by way of texts, from one of my favorite past characters. I hope there are more in the future as it ties these stories together in a way that means that I don't have to let the characters go, even though their stories are over. I also am liking the introduction of the siblings because that gives me hope that these characters will also get a chance at their own book.

I highly recommend this author for books with redeemable villains, strong characters, plausible storylines, and enough sexual tension and steamy times that it will almost melt your kindle. The chemistry in this one was insane and was well done with the story coming first. Be warned though, this book is likely to give a whopper of a book hangover and leave you on the edge of your seat as you wait for the story to continue.

Net Worth by Amelia Wilde was my first read by this author and it was intensely erotic, sexual, riveting, and even frustrating at times. It left me on the edge of my seat. I was thoroughly impressed by Amelia's writing and ability to write such a fascinating character in Mason Hill. He was multi-dimensional and had so many layers to him. Although he is portrayed as a cruel and heartless man hell bent on revenge—especially when he is with Charlotte, Mason also has the potential and ability to be a caring and loving individual. At times, I wanted to smack him for being so mean and thoughtless to Charlotte when she had nothing to do with her father's actions. I was frustrated by their relationship because I wanted more from him and for her to fight back. There is no denying that these two have some combustible chemistry with each other.
"My want for her has burst like a diamond into a million cutting shards. Each one of them refracts things I can't want and can't have."

Charlotte Van Kempt is the foil to Mason's character and while I do have my own frustrations with her, she might prove to be formidable in the future. Only time will tell if she comes to her own conclusions about her own family's part in the destruction of Mason's family and forsakes her father for his crimes. Charlotte is the typical innocent heroine in the dark romance genre who gives up her dreams to save her family by selling herself to the hero. There's not really much to her character so far and I hope that will change in the future. Charlotte is conflicted by her feelings for Mason. There's fear and shame but also attraction and desire. The things that Mason does to her are debasing and cruel but she unexpectedly finds pleasure in it.
"A dark, twisted part of me likes the feel of his grip in my face. It's not right. In fact, it's very wrong. My body trembles with the contradiction."

In the end, I do have my conflicting feelings for these two because their relationship feels like I'm watching a train crash and can't do anything about it. There are so many complications and things in the way of their happily ever after. Regardless of what Mason and Charlotte wants, their family had history with each other and revenge plots never turn out well for the one pursuing it. Besides the romance, I am very curious about the story behind his parents' death and would like to see the perpetrator punished. Fans of dark romance and Amelia Wilde will absolutely love her newest release, especially if you like revenge plots, forced relationships, and a romantic relationship that is morally grey.

Another Amelia Wilde book I devoured in one sitting, but it's no surprise since her writing is always captivating. And now I have a new book boyfriend to obsess over. Mason Hill is a broody, mean (major A hole), dirty mouthed and sexy as sin billionaire looking for revenge after loosing his parents in a fire when he was young. Charlotte Van Kempt is sweet, innocent, kindhearted and a hard-working young woman looking to save her father's company from bankruptcy. When Mason offers her a deal that can help get things on track for her family she doesn't hesitate to accept it, even if it means putting herself in the hands of an enemy.

I loved how the action unfolded, the tension, the suspense and the sizzling chemistry between the protagonist. Every interaction between them was intense. Mason tries to control his feelings for Charlotte as much as possible but when he gives in to those emotions the two of them together are explosive. He's all alpha, and every scene with him had me positively drooling, he exuded strength, power, and sex appeal. And Charlotte might be all doe eyed and constantly blushing but she can also be fierce and doesn't back down from a challenge. The book ended with a cliffhanger that left me desperate for more and i I'll be impatiently waiting for the next installment.

Romance has become one of my favorite genres over the past year or so, and I will forever love the enemies to lovers trope. Net Worth by Amelia Wilde was certainly full of hate, tension, and banter; I was here for it. Mason was a broody alpha male who was so bent on destroying Charlotte; do I love men like this? Yes, yes I do (in fiction at least ahaha). Charlotte was determined to do whatever necessary to save her family, and I admired her for that, even if I didn’t feel that her family deserved her help.

Although I did end up thinking that the initial tension and angst between Charlotte and Mason was a little too drawn out, I understand why that choice was made—I somehow missed that this wasn’t going to be standalone, so I am hoping for all the steam in the sequel!

I’m not going to lie, when I reached the end of the book, I was mad (but in a good way); I need the second one in my hands like right away!

Content warning for death of loved one, abuse.

A huge thank you to Valentine PR for the review copy of Net Worth! This one is out today!

Wow! This book has me on edge the whole way! First I was on edge waiting for Mason to make his move.... then I was on edge waiting for him to .....you know. And then there was this whole other plot happening in the background that I didn't even know was going on! Yes it ended on a cliffy.... and I an serious need of this next book like NOW! I am legit dying over this cliffy.... and I will be thinking about it until the minute that next book lands on my kindle and I can read more!

Mason is HOT AF! And Charlotte's innocence had me gasping when she was with Mason. He always mentions how her chest is rising quickly.... MY CHEST WAS RISING QUICKLY! My heart rate was all over the place... even when he wasn't touching her.... I could FEEL him touching her! I could feel the words all over me! Amelia did a number on me with this one and I don't think I will be ok until this whole story is wrapped up. 😬
Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Swoon 😍😍😍 (he only gets 3 for now..... but I have a feeling that he may get more as the story progresses)

Revenge angsty plot with age-gap romance was all I needed to know to finally pick up a book by Amelia Wilde! Mason, the brooding, alpha anti-hero is looking to exact revenge and Charlotte is the perfect victim, all sweet and innocent. The bargain? Her body to save her family.

"I want to destroy Charlotte Van Kempt. I want to break her in every way there is under the sun. I want to put her back together afterward and break her again."

This was a hot book! I actually had to stop every once in a while. Me. Stopping a steamy book. Unheard of, I know. It was mostly because of the way Mason is with Charlotte, which is brutal and raw and so not for the faint of heart. 🥵

Read if you like:
- Alpha Anti-Hero
- Enemies-to-Lovers
- Age-Gap
- Cinderella story
- Tortured and damaged hero
- Steam steam steam

My Rating: 4 stars!

**ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review.**

After having recently read the prologue, I could not get started on Net Worth fast enough… and it soooo did not disappoint in regards to storyline, character chemistry, and overall flow.

This book gave me twisted Cinderella meets Party of Five meets Fifty Shades vibes. Unusual mix, I know. But once you read it, you’ll hopefully know what I mean. 😅

When Mason’s family was first introduced in the prologue, I didn’t have a strong connection to any of them, but Net Worth gave me a better understanding to their situation and seeing their family dynamic, my impression of them have now somewhat altered. Mason’s siblings all have distinct personalities and all seem to have their own coping mechanisms for dealing with the tragedy that’s surrounded their family— so I’m eager to see how each of their character develops as this story continues.

The introduction of Charlotte in The Proposition, she was instantly the type of heroine I could back due to her sweet disposition, yet determined attitude despite her current standing. Whilst I thought she did lose some of her spunkiness since the prologue, she’s still a likable character. I admit I didn’t agree with all of her decisions and actions throughout this book, but when it comes to Charlotte it’s not hard to look past it and carry on reading. She’s the light-hearted element within (other than her awesome-sauce of a bestie Elise), that balanced out the sombre atmosphere that usually followed Mason around.

You’ll either love or loathe Mason Hill, or in my case, interchange from loving to loathing and back again all throughout. Seeing the different sides of him whether he’s with his family or with Charlotte was one of the big reasons I ended up emotionally invested.

What immediately struck me in this story was the genuine intrigue and attraction between Mason and Charlotte. There interactions were weirdly addictive to see play out. I honestly didn’t know what to expect each time they were together. I especially wasn’t expecting the slow burn romance despite the fact that almost every interaction had some sort of sexual encounter. I don’t know how Amelia has managed to put some very raunchy exchange, yet still leaves you hanging for more. But she’s done it! 🙈

It’s told from first person, dual points of view, well-paced storytelling, and can be read in one sitting. As the POVs interchange back and forth chapter by chapter, reading from each of their own perspectives, you can see the differences between them and their lives, especially when it came down to the dynamics of their households.

There’s quite a few tropes in this story, so if you enjoy any or all of the following in your romance reads, I really recommend you read this one.

- Billionaire Romance
- Age-Gap Romance
- Virgin Heroine
- Tortured Hero
- Enemies to Lovers
- Opposites Attract
- BDSM

As a romance reader who usually passes up books that include BDSM (just my preference), I was second-guessing whether or not that this particular feature would dampen my reading experience as I hadn’t expected it. But I can honestly say that the minor (and some might say tame) BDSM included didn’t deter me from finishing, and most importantly, from enjoying the book overall.

Amelia Wilde has a unique way of writing her characters and their monologues. If you’ve read enough of her books, you can easily identify her work. If you enjoyed her writing style in the past, I have no doubt you’ll enjoy reading this one just as much. 😊 I’ve always found her writing easy to follow. The setting and world-building are already so vivid and very much present by the first chapter, along with the intrigue of getting to know more about the protagonists.

Net Worth is one seductive start to the Wealth Trilogy. The deal that ultimately started the steamy yet swoon-worthy relationship between Mason and Charlotte had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and desperately needing more of their story. With an air of danger, secrecy, and provocation, there’s tons of build-up and suspense to this billionaire romance. It won’t be for everyone but if you enjoy edgy contemporary romance reads with a side of smut, then give this one a try. It has good bones, with tons of potential. The characters are all promising and definitely add an extra oomph to this meaty, multi-faceted storyline.

Please note, as it is part of a trilogy and a continuous storyline, this book does end on a cliffhanger.

Net Worth
Written by: Amelia Wilde

Anyone who has Hades on speed dial and collects a favor from Leo Morelli is going to be one of the best badass alphas that Amelia Wilde has turned loose on readers.

Mason Hill, he sounds so “normal” but he is the farthest from normal. He’s rebuilt his family’s fortune and has waited a long time to ruin the man he has always blamed for his parents death and the way he and his siblings were left hanging by those who claimed to be friends. His hatred for Cyrus Van Kempt has carried him through the years; now it’s time to make Cyrus pay. His revenge is going to be so much sweeter because he will be using Charlotte Van Kempt in every way he can think of, including using that belt!

Charlotte Van Kempt has spent the past year trying to keep her father’s company and their home afloat. She left school; she’s sold paintings, silver, her clothes and shoes any and everything to try to pay the bills. She’s let people go from Cornerstone and she has spent hours, days, months trying to get investors and nothing has worked. Until she finally had no choice but to accept Mason Hill’s offer, kneel and ask for his help.

In this one though you need to literally read between the lines, yes Mason is a giant dick…but he has feelings. He will use her and when he does, it is going to be hot and dirty and she will cry.

There is something about Mason that makes me want to see him, not just the man he professes to be but the man he has the potential to be. He is an anomaly, an alpha-hole who might surprise you. Even more surprising is the night Charlotte shows up with information that could make the next part of this ride a rollercoaster of emotion and chaos.

Mason Hill may be an alpha-hole but Cyrus Van Kempt is the devil. Hold on to your kindles reading friends, because all hell is going to break loose!

Amelia Wilde and her scorching hot, mean, and callous alphas. Caveman personality meets broken soul. My kryptonite. And Mason Hill is all that and then some. I went from wanting to throttle him, from loathing him with a passion to deeply, madly falling for him and wanting to shield him from every and all evil there is in the world.

And Charlotte Van Kempt. She is such a beautiful, pure soul with a heart of gold. I was ready for her to get her innocence stripped away by the dirty, filthy deeds wanted to do to her, yet I was gasping right along with her at every touch, every filthy word, every glorious act he bestowed upon her. It takes a while for these two to finally get to … you know, yet the journey to that point was nothing if not intense. Holy mother of tension!

And then all the other things happening … I don’t know what I expected, and despite the antagonist being obvious from very early on, I definitely didn’t expect THAT!

NET WORTH is a billionaire romance with revenge themes, one hella toxic but oh-so addicting love-hate relationship, and some serious plot twists. I can’t wait to discover where Charlotte and Mason’s story will take them, which secrets will be uncovered, and how revenge will be exacted.
