Bee and Nolan were just a delight! They were both such fun characters and their chemistry was top notch! I loved that Bee is a fat porn goddess who is at the same time so comfortable in her skin, while still having a few hangups about her body from time to time (because we've all been there no matter how great our self-confidence is!). Nolan is this wonderful mix of cinnamon roll with a real bad-boy streak and I was here for it. The sex scenes were great and not overly "baby talk" like I all too often see in m-f romances. They are two true disaster bisexuals and I happily welcome them to our beautiful little club. Also that scene with the corset and the thigh highs...(insert steamy face emoji here!)
Loved the Chirstmas town setting, the side characters, and the backstories and side plots. Also the constant bickering between Texas vs Kansas BBQ was just v cute.

This book is sweet and funny, while at the same time tackles some pretty intense topics (grief, alcoholism, emotional abuse) without losing that holiday charm. A tough feat, but Helena does it masterfully! Super refreshing to see a butch MC and I hope we start to see it more! I just love authentic representation in romance!!!
Also this is going to be a series, which I was hoping for while reading it. I will devour the rest of them as they come out...I can't wait!...more
I'm slightly obsessed with this book. It's so witty, and funny, and angsty, and romantic, and a little heartbreaking too. Add this to your list of 4.5

The MC, Shani, is so funny. There are times I couldn't stop laughing out loud at her inner monologue. I had to put the book down often, just so I could get all my giggles out. Her interactions with the barista? Hilarious. Her thoughts about Christmas? On point. Every time she made a joke about being a stereotypical lesbian? A hoot! She was also kind of a (self-aware) brat to her mom, specifically, and it was so relatable! The number of times I was a full on b-word to my mom and realized it, but continued on anyway, is kind of terrible, but also the teenage girl experience(?).
I loved the dynamic between Shani and snarky (but actually the sweetest) May. They were fun and easy to root for even though they had some issues to work through. It all felt so appropriate for the 1st year out of high school when you have all these big feelings and you are also trying to figure out how to be independent. Their relationship made me laugh and swoon and they are JUST SO SWEET together!!! (Also the child barista banter between them was possibly my favorite part of the book)

This has been sitting in my kindle for months because I was afraid to pick it up. I read an eARC of the charm offensive last year and fell in love. The charm offensive is just one of those magical books that hits every note and makes you fall in love. How can a writer strike gold twice? Somehow Alison manages to do just that. I laughed. I cried. I felt like my heart might explode even though I knew there would be a happy ending. This book is funny and sexy and just really really good. Alison has solidified herself as an auto buy author for me. I just really love this story and I can’t wait to see what else Alison puts out into the world. At the end of the day, it’s Alison’s world and we’re just lucky enough to read it....more
