Did I think it was as good as Cinder? No. I think Cinder captivated me a little more quickly, but regardless it was absolutely amazing. I loved it so much and I thought it was a really wonderful story. I think this book does a good job of highlighting what teens go through. It's a shame that Hannah could only do this and express herself after she's chosen to commit suicide.
A lot of people keep saying it's glamorizing suicide, or that this was some type of revenge. And frankly, I disagree with that entirely. I think this book does a good job of calling attention to how sometimes we just don't see what's going on, or if we do, we just don't know how to help. It highlights the complexities of someone who contemplating suicide. It shows that everything that happens to us does affect us in some way. No matter what.
I also think the quality of writing is really strong and well done. Overall, a well put together book. The reason it is not a five is because I felt that some of things could have been a little more developed. Otherwise it's great! ...more
