I enjoyed this second story of the Far Horizons trilogy. In this book we follow Caroline Reid and Eleanor (a young widow) as they travel from Scotland to Boston in search of adventure and a new life. Along the way they get caught up in some scandal and romances. This is the story of family, friendship, romance, courage, and home. I would recommend this book to anyone enjoying historical family dramas and romances. It is well written. Ms. Hewitt has a special talent in describing the scenes and developing the characters. She really brings you into the storyline. I look forward to starting the 3rd book in this series and seeing how the lives of the characters play out.
P.S. I do not like the "new" titles of these books, should've kept the previous, these titles sound too cheesy and "romancey" for my taste.

Summer Island Sisters is a typical light, summer, no-brainer read. It is the story of a group of friends supposedly in their early 50s that behave like 20 year olds (totally annoyed me). Trace is the main character who encounters a bit of trouble while fighting for the ocean as an activist. The trouble follows her home to Summer Island where she comes to heal and reclaim her childhood home. However, there's more drama at home with a neighbor/high school rival trying to manipulate the town leaders into demolishing Trace's home due to disrepair. This story is full of drama, friendship, and standing up for yourself... with a bit of romance mixed in. I would not necessarily recommend this book, however, if you're looking for a quick book to pick up while on vacation or at the beach, this could fit the bill for you!

What He Wants for Christmas is the first book by Benda Jackson that I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday romance. Leslie and Sloan rekindle their love after 10 years of lies and deceit that kept them apart. This is a unique second chance plot and I enjoyed the characters. Overall, this is a story about true love, trust, forgiveness, and Christmas. Be aware that this book has plenty of detailed sexy scenes. Oh, and plus it takes place in Alaska (my fav) and there's a snowstorm stranding them (of course)... I would definitely recommend this holiday book and look forward to reading more by Brenda Jackson in the future.

I read~~~ I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley ~~~ Catherine Bybee is one of my favorite authors and I am loving this new "The Heirs" series. I read the first book and loved it. The Forgotten One is the second book in the series. This book is the story of Sarah and Max who develop a relationship after Sarah, a journalist is assigned to follow the new found billionaire heir Max Stone. This is a book that follows the family story of Stone Enterprises. It is full of drama and family secrets with some romance thrown in. I'm hooked and can't wait to read the next book in "The Heirs" series. Good read! Highly recommend....more

I love the setting of this book and the descriptions of Greece. I had a hard time with Samantha's, narration, however. The Great Greek Escape is written in first person, which takes some getting used to, and quite frankly I'm not very fond of. It reads kind of like a diary, which maybe is appropriate because Samantha is kind of immature for being an adult- which also annoyed me. This is a book of family, love, and overcoming life's obstacles. I think this is a good, light, summer-y read. I might read more in Sue Roberts' Greece series in the future, just because I enjoy the locations.
