Oldest sibling Maggie is finding the shine has worn off her marriage. When she and Josh discover twin Isaac from Josh's prior marriage has Type I Diabetes, Maggie goes into "I've got this mode". There's not space for anyone else as she seeks to right her worlds wrongs. Unfortunately, she only succeeds in wearing herself out and further deteriorating her marriage.
I learned so much about Type I Diabetes in the pages and feel much empathy for those impacted.
I loved minor character Eric and look forward to seeing if a romance blossoms for crusty Aunt Pris.

This Christmas tale had a good start and I enjoyed all of the scenes that occurred at the hospital. Main character Richelle is a PICU nurse.

Beyond that, the book seemed to building to a large reveal and when that occurred at about 75% of the way through, it was disappointing and unrealistic.
This book had some strong parts, but was overall a miss for me....more

It was great to learn the background of prickly Aunt Pris. And a second chance at love at 82...what a sweet blessing.
The 1950s period details were neatly woven into the storyline. In addition to gaining details about Aunt Pris' young adult years, it was wonderful to also learn more about her dear friend Esther, Tripp's dad Ed and Amos's mom/Aunt Pris' sister Hazel.

Widower Pete is happy as an offshore captain while caring for his young daughter. As a Preacher's Kid, he shuns any call God may be making to pursue that avenue full-time.
The two meet under unusual circumstances and their romance is a realistic slow burn.
Another enjoyable contemporary romance novel by Janet Ferguson.

The premise of the novella is fabulous and the author's message is beautiful. There are moments of comedy to enjoy and profound statements included. However, this Christmas tale didn't fully capture my interest.
