"You're mine," he says with such finality. "You're my worry, my heartache, my burden. Whatever you think you are, whatever season it is for us, you're fucking mine, Leo."
My God...this book ripped my heart out but put it back together. Told in alternating past and present timelines, we get to see the beginning of Jesse and Leo's love story and all they had before tragedy tore them apart. I did love the way the story was told because we got to see the beginnings of their relationship which enabled me to bond to them. This is a story of love and loss and having to fight back from the darkest of experiences. There is no cheating or drama or anything like that.
The story follows two men/ husbands/ soulmates/ each other’s everything during a time in their lives when their marriage is close to falling apart after something terrible happened. They deal with their grief vey differently. I loved watching Jesse fight for Leo in the beginning but understood what Leo was going through.
This was my first read by this author even though I have a few of her books on my shelves...I mean, that cover for Without You?!?! I will definitely be reading more of her books hella soon! Her writing packs a serious punch, her characters were well developed, and there was still plenty of steam in this one, even with the emotional and heartbreaking subject matter.
I would definitely recommend this book to any second-chance M/M fans who are looking for a read that packs all the emotions!
"Do you know how hard it is to have you so close but still so out of reach?"
I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

"Don't you realize you're exactly what I want? Why would I do anything to remove you from my life?"
Y'all...it had been quite a hot 4 STARS
"Don't you realize you're exactly what I want? Why would I do anything to remove you from my life?"
Y'all...it had been quite a hot minute since I last read this author's work, regretfully. I remember her books being steamy. But this one was steamy and DARK as all get out!
Kaspian has his methods...and Ezra's got him pinned. This is the first line of the book, from Ezra's POV:
"He doesn't think anybody's watching because he's used to being the stalker..."
If you're a stalker junkie like me.. then you've read the stories of the stalker and his (or her!) cat and mouse game. But what happens when the stalker sets his sights on someone just like him?
This book was such a dark and fun ride. Ezra and Kas have a twisted adoration for one another that drives them differently. Anything between them would be volatile, but they can't fight their intrigue and connection.
This is the story about what happens when the paths of a sociopath and a psychopath cross. It's HAWT as hell but read the TWs and know what you're signing up for. Their escapades turn bloody and include knife play.
As toxic and obsessive as Ezra and Kas were at times, they were so perfect for one another and the author did a great job of making that come through in the story. Their connection was way more than just sex.
Fans of Sophie Lark's Sinners Duet should definitely check this one out. I will definitely not be waiting so long again before reading another book by this author!
"Our relationship doesn’t fit within the bounds of what’s deemed an acceptable and normal relationship, so I don’t think we should tarnish it with labels that don’t fit. We are what we are—dysfunctional.
“You don't know me, asshole. You think I'm just an uptight banker. I could be anyone. I could be a guy who has always known he was bi,
5 STARS!
“You don't know me, asshole. You think I'm just an uptight banker. I could be anyone. I could be a guy who has always known he was bi, and couldn't wait to take that out for a test drive. But then he got his ungrateful college girlfriend pregnant and is now an overworked single dad who knows everything there is to know about Peppa Pig but who has been off the market so long he has no idea when he'll ever relieve some of this unbearable tension since he doesn't know how to find some willing, non-creepy single dude with good hygiene to sixty-nine.”
There are so many things I adored about this book. From the forbidden-esque romance, to the drunk texts up front that had Mark groveling from the get-go, to the world class banter. This book was equal parts steamy and sweet and I could not get enough!
It has been years since I read either one of these authors. But from the moment I first came across the blurb for this book, I was intrigued. I loved the dynamic of two best men at a wedding, with the whole enemies-to-lovers vibe going. But then once I read the book, I realized it was SO MUCH BETTER!! Mark is a nerdy, single dad, finance guy who's a control freak and totally colors inside the lines ONLY! And Asher is an ex-Premier League soccer player who travels the world as a photographer now. They couldn't be more different.
So, I assumed from the blurb that this was going to be a super hot surface read about two frenemies hooking up during a wedding weekend and it was those things. But, it was also SO MUCH MORE!!! People, this book is up there with Heated Rivalry which is one of my top fave M/M reads ever!! This isn't a surface read at all. It had ALL THE FEELS!!
Finally he’s here, and I’m pulling him into my arms. His bag hits the floor with a slap, and we kiss like we haven’t seen each other in a year instead of a month. “I love you,” he says against my lips. “I love you more.”
In addition to being a story about two men who are hot for each other sharing one hot weekend in Miami, it's also about long distance relationships, and once-in-a-lifetime love stories.
And the best part? There was no dumb drama, no fourth quarter misunderstandings.. just an epic romance and a fantastic book! The first three quarters or so takes place in Miami during their wedding weekend in June. And it was the perfect, fun read to cozy up with in the dead of January when we have 6 inches of snow on the ground right now. It was all hot sultry nights and beach, clubs, and OMG the steam!!
These two ere SCORCHING!! They had a kink spreadsheet.. and, let me tell you, I will never look at Excel the same way again! ;)
Loved it so much and I highly recommend this book to all lovers of M/M romance!
“Is this on your spreadsheet?” “What?” I ask, still a little dazed from everything. “Asking me to be your boyfriend?” he goads. “You’re such an arrogant prick.” “But now I’m your arrogant prick.”
