As a girl who was guilty of growing up watching the Girls Next Door reality show, I was definitely curious when I heard Holly Madison was coming out with a tell all book on her past life as one of Hugh Hefner's main girlfriend and life at the Playboy Mansion.
How much of the show was real? Well just like you'd guess, not much of it; however the in-authenticity of the show can be considered secondary when it came to some other subjects that were brought to light. AKA manipulation, backstabbing, drugs, other illegal shit, etc.
As Holly recounts on specific parts of the show I can actually remember all the moments she brings up that were aired, but in its true perspective.
Well we won't know for sure if everything she has in the book is true; I'm sure there are parts in the book that are either exaggerated or understated but I would like to think the facts are legitimate.
My only reason for not finishing the book was due to how often she had to declare she was the innocent one, because it was in every. recount. she. told.
And that is all I have to say for this one- Over and out!...more

EHHH not the best book to read after my 9 months absence of books.
The title and cover for this book made it look so bRead to 44% and skimmed the rest.
EHHH not the best book to read after my 9 months absence of books.
The title and cover for this book made it look so bad ass but honestly this book should really be called "The Diaries of a Confused Girl"
I'm one of those people who find books like Perks of Being a Wallflower boring(which is basically a diary of a confused boy), SOO iono...if you like that book maybe you'll like this one....more
OKAY SOOooo, HONESTLY this was pretty good, this has all the steamy angst a New Adult should have. What made mstarting skimming at 64%, dropped at 74%
OKAY SOOooo, HONESTLY this was pretty good, this has all the steamy angst a New Adult should have. What made me stop reading the book was because to me, there was no real plot. It was all about the romance between the two main characters and if that's what you're looking for then this is the book for you!
I however just wished there was something else other than romance because that tends to get boring to read after a while. Cause you know the timeline basically goes like this: they hate each other, hookup, can't stop hooking up, almost in relationship, argue about one of them not being committed enough, breakup-ish, someone gets hurt in the hospital, back together. TADAAA~ the end (great sex tho)...more
Started reading this on 1/7/15 and I didn't finish this until 2/11/15 which is just one day after it was published. SIGH I KNOW, I NEED TO GET ON TOP Started reading this on 1/7/15 and I didn't finish this until 2/11/15 which is just one day after it was published. SIGH I KNOW, I NEED TO GET ON TOP OF MY READING, I've been extremely busy and just came back from a 5 day NSMH nationals conference (give a shout out if you know what that is haha). I however, did not take so long in finishing this book because it was bad necessarily NONONO, just continue reading and you'll find out.
17 year old Mare Barrow could be considered a dystopian version of Cinderella, truly lucky in the way she went from the shittest life ever to well...a wealthy royal's shitty life LOL
This started off great, really did, I thought this was going to be shelved in my favorites shelf but as I kept reading it kind of fizzled out, don't really know how to describe it other than that O.o'.
And regarding the boys Cal and Mavin, the two brothers of royalty. Really liked them in the beginning, hate how the author made me dislike Cal and like Mavin more and then suddenly changing the role reversal on me like some effing tablecloth trick
[image]
Well eff now I hate Mavin and I still have trust issues with Cal. It's not healthy to go from loving someone to hating them in a millisecond, is the author trying to destroy Mare's mental stability? Gurl....more
I wanted to read this because I thought the plot was interesting but when you're reading the book you c2.5 stars

I wanted to read this because I thought the plot was interesting but when you're reading the book you can tell the author isn't very experienced in writing.
Nothing was cheesy or anything but the whole time it was very monotonous, as if she was just relaying facts with some details-but hey I understand that it's hard to write, I can see what the author was trying to do and I still applaud her for her effort.
FIRST YOU MAKE CELAENA LEAVE CHAOL AND NOW YOU MAKE HER LEAVE ROWAN?! Why don't you just take my first born baby.
When Rowan was first introduced in thFIRST YOU MAKE CELAENA LEAVE CHAOL AND NOW YOU MAKE HER LEAVE ROWAN?! Why don't you just take my first born baby.
When Rowan was first introduced in the book I was like uh NONONO, I DON'T THINK SO, THIS FRIENDSHIP BETTER STAY PLATONIC
[image]
-but by the end of the book I was like YESYESYES SHE MUST HAVE ROWAN
[image]
and THEN the author kept emphasizing how they were JUST FRIENDS.
SARAH WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME, YOU SET ME UP- Making me slowly like Rowan and then just TAKING IT ALL AWAY T_T
I hope this situation will be remedied- preferably through a hunger game type of setting where Chaol, Dorian, Aedion, and Rowan fight to the death for Celaena.
My rank of who I would want to win that game: 1. Rowan 2. Aedion 3. Dorian 4. Chaol (sorry Chaol, you were just not meant to be)
THIS BOOK HAS ALMOST 5 STARS, THAT ALMOST NEVER HAPPENS, NEVERRR!!! especially when the review count is almost over 20,000.

THIS BOOK HAS ALMOST 5 STARS, THAT ALMOST NEVER HAPPENS, NEVERRR!!! especially when the review count is almost over 20,000.
That is the reason why I decided to read this book becuase I usually don't go for sappy sad romances
No this did not make me cry but I did think it was really sweet how Bree was teaching Archer about life and relationships - ALOT about relationships if you know what I mean. *WINK*WINK*
So even though the last 20% of the book was so cheesy it would make a cheese connoisseur turn their nose up; I don't regret reading it because the first 80% was worth the read.
So is anyone else wondering if Gage is going to have his own spinoff because his character was highlighted pretty well towards the end there.
I started reading this 2 months ago and I got half way through but I never finished it.

I started reading this 2 months ago and I got half way through but I never finished it.
I kept telling myself to finish it but after two months of it being on my "currently reading" shelf I realized I just needed to let it go, especially with the little amount I have time right now, it just wasn't worth it.
It's not that it isn't good, it's just predictable which makes it slightly boring :x

NO GIRL, NO.
One time the author said to me...
"Let me tell you about this book that I'm about to write with great background story, lots of potential, but here's the kicker, NOTHINGS GOING TO HAPPEN, HEHEHEHE sounds good right??"
AHH WHAT'S GOING ON, THE FEELS, THEY ARE KILLING ME.

YOU KNOW WHY?! Because I literally don't know how any man in real lifeI give this 3.5 stars
AHH WHAT'S GOING ON, THE FEELS, THEY ARE KILLING ME.

YOU KNOW WHY?! Because I literally don't know how any man in real life will ever compare to Theron. HOW WILL I MOVE ON? WHO WILL EVER BE COMPARABLE?? I JUST CAN'T.
He was the highlight of the book, and is literally the only person I care about. I needed more of him. MORE. WHY COULDN'T YOU GIVE ME MORE!? *HEAVY BREATHING** SNIFFLE**

Oh Theron, my sweet sweet Theron, I will always love you and in my dreams you will always be my prince. #reallifeloveisnowruined
I would've liked it more if the book had a slightly faster pace, it wasn't slow per say but it was a little too steady for my taste; maybe be3.5 stars
I would've liked it more if the book had a slightly faster pace, it wasn't slow per say but it was a little too steady for my taste; maybe because I didn't feel like there was a sense of urgency within the book.
I liked how Lia was so driven in wanting to be normal. While most girls' dream to be a princess, what would've made Lia truly happy, was to spend the rest of her life as a hard worker with a modest living. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side (this is coming from a girl who wishes she were a princess)
'Rafe' and Kaden were great, very gentlemanly, but nothing really stood out. I felt like I wasn't able to connect with them on a deep level.
I really liked the plot of this book and it could've been something amazing but I think the author should've done a better job in conveying the characters' feelings. Usually when I read a book I feel like I am there and I feel what the characters feel, but with this I just felt like I was reading a book about 3 people; there's a feeling of distance....more

This was set at both Mia and Eric's POV and I found being in their mind's were like being in a 15 year old's mind, not adults in their 20's. I really hope older generations don't assume the majority of young adults who are raised with technology, actually think and act like that.
And the way the two described how sexy each other were in their heads, omg, I could not stop cringing. -shivers-
