Hell yeah + Clucky
The neutral o Well, the blurb did warn me that they were all idiots, so I won't say anything about the stupid decisions they made. But o boy could things have gone differently if they thought with their brains instead of their guns (in every sense of the word) o Was Kennedy's family forgiven in the end? Because they didn't deserve that. Her sister was a bitch and a bully, her mother didn't respect Kennedy and refused to listen to a word she said, and her father told Kennedy he felt like he owed her ex something because of the shame she had brought him. An ex that tried to rape Kennedy. How could her father not pick Kennedy's side in this?
The bad -(view spoiler)[Kennedy gave Jack an ultimatum, which is one of the worst things someone can do in a relationship. She also completely blindsided him with it - within the course of one conversation Kennedy told Jack that she hated his possible choice, dumped all her feelings on his head, and then gave him an ultimatum. Jack didn't even have time to catch his breath. Even someone with better verbal communication skills than Jack (so, everyone who is not Jack) would have gotten whiplash from that conversation. Kennedy should have apologized for asking this from him and for blindsiding him like that (hide spoiler)] - Kennedy and Jack had a sacred ritual for speaking safely, where they both went to their knees and looked into each other's eyes. Guess it was only sacred when it suited them, because when Jack asked for it at a very difficult moment Kennedy kneed him in the balls and left. Wtf? - They drank a lot of alcohol before they got together for the first time. It's always a pity when alcohol is required for relationship development, and it impedes consent. I'm glad Jack and Kennedy had already spoken about the possibility when they were sober, but it still didn't sit right with me
Quotes
My cigarette has a long tail. "Anyone have an ashtray?" Jack cups his palm and holds it out for me. He lets me shake it out into his hand. And they say gentlemen are a dying breed.
"If I can fit them both in my cunt, surely I can fit them both in my heart."
This book was silly and sweet and also really violent and action-packed. I don't think the plot made a lot of sense, but I didn't really care either because I was here for the relationship. They were so great together and I really liked the way they were when they were around each other. Would recommend if you're looking for a light-hearted and sweet relationship at the center of a pretty violent and surreal action plot. And a pet chicken....more
The good + How extremely well they knew each other + August getting adopted into Ricardo's family + Ricardo being constantly aware of August The good + How extremely well they knew each other + August getting adopted into Ricardo's family + Ricardo being constantly aware of August and when his feet need rest + Their vulnerability around each other
The neutral o Why did Ricardo's sister hate Eve so much? Before the divorce already, I mean. It was none of her business whether Ricardo invited her to their wedding or not. (Also, Eve was August's sort-of best friend, right? Why was there no scene with August and Eve?)
The bad - Zero guns were fired in this book. No other weapons were used either. I know this was a book about wedding drama, but I thought the drama would involve action, like I have come to expect from the other books. Instead, there were plenty of people who deserved to be hurt just a little bit (*cough* August's parents) and no torture - August (view spoiler)[forgave his parents. What the fuck? They insulted Ricardo's family for no reason (if they really had a vision of what August's wedding should have been like, they probably assumed August would have a partner, and chasing August's partner off seems counterproductive to me), ignored August's protests over their interference in his wedding, and most importantly, August's mom basically said "yeah sorry you were kidnapped three times and your brother died, but we're rich, so what did you expect". She just brushed off August's trauma like it was nothing (hide spoiler)] - Elodie should have been uninvited from the wedding. I guess I could see where she was coming from, but doing something like this for August's wedding, which was a moment that should have been one of his happiest memories, was a real dick move - Ricardo went to watch the game between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in the stadium, and then that same evening he watched FC Barcelona play against Villareal. Really, two games in one day? - What are they even going to do when they retire? They'll be bored out of their minds within a month with nothing to do (or kill)
This book was not like the other books in the series at all. I thought that for these guys 'wedding drama' would include guns and violence. Instead it was just lots of meddling and family drama. There is a reason I avoid books like that. For me, this was not a satisfying ending to the series....more

Perfect way to share their meals
The neutral o Did Valerio have a job? Or was his only 'job' being a vigilante killer? And if so, how did he earn money? o The descriptions of the horrible acts performed by some of Valerio's victims were pretty graphic. You should be aware of that before starting this book
The bad - Two seconds after the reader learned the wendigo's name was Dell, Valerio killed a guy named Dale. That was really confusing - I still don't understand why Valerio (view spoiler)[had to drain his victims completely (hide spoiler)]. Why was he different from other vampires? Were there others like him? - This series was advertised as standalones that are not interconnected. However, this book is pretty closely connected to Nox from the Lords of Otherworld series, and Nox and his mate show up a few times as well. Not a complete standalone after all. (view spoiler)[Nox even confirms that he's meddling with the monsters' matings (hide spoiler)]
Quotes x "You, Dell Santos, are an incredible man." "That's not my last name." "I know. It's mine. I thought it could be yours too."
This was pretty cute. I liked the connection between the characters, the way they found their footing around each other and how they took care of one another. Some parts missed the mark for me and I hope the other three monster books will be better, but I had a good time reading this regardless. Would recommend....more
The good + Kit being a man of honor + Kit demanding they build a connection based on something other than lust + Talal's sister + Kit's friends + Kit with The good + Kit being a man of honor + Kit demanding they build a connection based on something other than lust + Talal's sister + Kit's friends + Kit with children + Kit with dogs
The neutral o I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. My review remains honest and unbiased o Why doesn't Talal have any guards, does he never learn? Even after (view spoiler)[Kit said that yeah, it was likely his father would try again (hide spoiler)] there was never a guard nearby o When is Kit gonna get his own dog?
The bad - Talal was an asshole. He treated Kit like a child, got angry at Kit for doing exactly as he asked, condemned Kit for not knowing things while simultaneously refusing to educate him, even considered sexually assaulting Kit like that's a normal thing to do to criminals, and then summoned Kit like he was one of his servants. Yes, Kit had tried to kill Talal, but he (view spoiler)[had been sent to prison and saved Talal's life afterwards (hide spoiler)], so I'd say he paid for his mistakes and made up for them, too. Yet Talal still says "We must agree to let it go, hmm? I was wrong, you were wrong, we're different men now and we'll do better from this point forward." So Kit had to do all the work, and Talal just swept all of his own mistakes under the rug like they'd never happened. Kit deserved better. A sincere apology, some major groveling, an acknowledgement of his status at the very least - Talal decided to give Kit gifts. I got really excited. Talal got Kit one gift. That was the extent of their courting. I am disappointed - A lot of things Kit was taught regarding his religion were wrong, but definitely not everything. Yet Kit had to adjust his view so it fit Talal's every time, and Talal never conceded and adopted a belief of Kit's - Kit had supposedly been trained to kill Talal since he was a child, but he wasn't a very good assassin. Especially since he hadn't expected to survive the whole ordeal anyway, it should've been much easier to just do something. The blurb also calls Talal an intellectual, but that definitely didn't show in the book - Talal's vizier and best friend was objectively awful to Kit, but Talal let him get away with it. What kind of best friend does that? - Talal was apparently trying to rebuild the justice system so it'd become more fair. Which resulted in... punishment for someone who had no clue what was going on? What was up with that 'responsibility' for your family or whatever? And the worst of it was, (view spoiler)[the vizier didn't even want that wife. That wife was forced on him by the Sultan, who of course washed his hands off any responsibility whatsoever on the matter (hide spoiler)] - The main plot involved the stealing and buying of children into slavery, and the punishment for the big bad mastermind was (view spoiler)[to go home with her husband to find out why she did this and become a better person (hide spoiler)]. I repeat. Guilty of forcing children into slavery. Yet (view spoiler)[an unsuccessful attempt to kill the emir was punishable by death (hide spoiler)]. There is something seriously wrong with the sense of justice in this sultanate
I really didn't like Talal. He was an arrogant asshole who couldn't be bothered to lift a single finger to get what he wanted; he just demanded it. Kit was really sweet and tried his very best in a strange land where he knew none of the rules and didn't have any friends. I liked Kit a lot. As their relationship is now in a much better place, I am curious enough to read the second book. I hope Talal's behavior will improve, so I can enjoy the sequel to the fullest. I'll hold off on recommending this until I've read the sequel and decided if it's worth it....more

Perfect! + Cataegis' motion to accept cat souls in Heaven + Gramiel using his superior position (in angelic eyes) to declare democracy in their little club + Gramiel's approach to their first moment of sexual intimacy + Vex teaching the angels how to survive in the human world
The neutral o This installment (and book 9) are not on KU, while all the other ones are. I had to get the Whole Series edition, the horror! (I'm just lazy okay) o I finally understand The Plan! Although I'm not quite sure how Vex had planned to pull it off (view spoiler)[before the souls started cooperating (hide spoiler)], or if that part was planned as well o Catherine is called Cat, but I thought Cataegis was also called Cat sometimes, and now I am confused
The bad - Vex kind of let (view spoiler)[those species leaders (hide spoiler)] walk all over him, and I didn't really understand why. It's not like he needed anyone's support other than (view spoiler)[those who could grant him dragons (hide spoiler)]
Quotes x "Why're your pants still on? Honestly, Vex, must I do everything?"

I just love that Gramiel doesn't give a fuck about what Vex looks like (except that he obviously hates how Vex came to look this way)
The neutral o How could Gramiel enter hell so easily? Don't they have protections against unwanted guests? (This part was probably explained and my brain just didn't retain the information)
The bad - I know I add 'the bad' to every review but I honestly can't come up with anything so...
Quotes x "It's very handsome. It- you are very handsome." "Um. Thanks. You too." "Thank you." x "May I hold you? Please? I don't want to do any damage but I- I would like to hold you. Right now." x I've not earned you. I'm not worthy of you. I shouldn't have you, not one piece of you. And if anyone tries to take you from me, I'll fucking murder them.

The neutral o Vex is always wary and doesn't trust easily, but immediately accepts the new ally without much of a fuss, without even knowing their motives
The bad - I've said before that I don't like the way Vex treats Gramiel as a subordinate instead of as an equal. I hope Vex is going to allow Gramiel to have more input on their plans - This is the worst cliffhanger in the history of the world!

The neutral o Gramiel has always given Vex his all, yet Vex keeps erecting these walls between them to keep Gramiel away. He refuses to be vulnerable when with Gramiel, which is both fair and unfair
The bad - The series seems to skip all over the place. A new installment never starts immediately after the previous one ends, and it gets a little confusing sometimes
Quotes x "Have I ever mentioned that your brain is really, really cool? Like, literally the most fascinating lump of grey meat that exists anywhere?" "It's mostly golden light, actually, not meat. But thank you." x That he loved him was not in doubt. The neutral o I am uncertain about all these new 'allies', especially because most of their allies have no idea what's going on. Also, where were the angels from the previous part?
The bad - Vex just keeps steamrolling over every plan or idea Gramiel comes up with. They're in this together; Gramiel is not his lackey!

Quotes x "You could feed a family for the price of that shirt." "Yes, but I don't want to feed a family, I want to dress you up."

The neutral o The rough sex fit, but the anal fissure was maybe a bit too much
The bad - Ari and Jules were not very careful or covert about everything. I had expected better, and it makes no sense that they haven't been caught yet - The visit with Jules' work partner was weird and didn't add anything to the story. It seemed like an excuse to add a bunch of cameos without substance
Quotes x He was mine. I would claim him, and no one else could touch him or I'd cut off their hands. x "You're talented and fearless and free. This book delivered what was promised. The mutual obsession was great, and Ari obeying Jules' directions for murder was perfect. Way more romantic than I had anticipated. Would recommend....more

I liked them all + Taroc defending Lock and giving him lots of privileges + Lock refusing to take Taroc's shit and calling him out on it + Ren + Ren being allowed to eat at the table
The neutral o The (view spoiler)[accidental mating (hide spoiler)] happened the first time Lock and Taroc slept together. Yet, (view spoiler)[Taroc was able to fuck a courtier just fine the next day (hide spoiler)]. How was that possible?
The bad - The fantasy kingdom had all kinds of species, yet only two genders. Lock even remarked that the upscale pleasure house offered a selection of all races and both genders. This is not even true for humans, and it's disappointing it was apparently not the case either in non-human species - Taroc kept messing up again and again, but he never groveled. He made mistake after mistake, made some half-assed apology and got away with it. The mistake he made in the end, the biggest of them all, was forgiven without an apology altogether. I am not convinced the MCs were ready to take their relationship to the next level with their atrocious level of communication and trust - The king had all these ideas to make the kingdom a better place for everyone, but in the end they just kind of concluded that those who didn't want to be helped, couldn't be helped. Wtf? That's a pathetic excuse not to do anything, especially when the image he was projecting to those who "didn't want to be helped" was one of a pompous rich asshole - Taroc was apparently a good king and all, yet apparently in his kingdom, whippings were still used as punishment. What the actual fuck - Lock was this super professional assassin who was really proficient in the art of observation and deduction. Yet he didn't realize who the bad guy was, after like a million hints had already been dropped
I really liked Lock. He had a backbone and didn't let Taroc or his status intimidate him. I didn't like Taroc, and felt like he had a lot more groveling and self-reflection to do before he was worthy of Lock. All things considered, this book was about equally frustrating as it was entertaining....more

The neutral o Not all of the MCsThe good + A peek into the lives of the Unholy Trifecta, now that they've settled + The friendship between Ivan and Glenn
The neutral o Not all of the MCs from the Unholy Trifecta series played a role, but I guess it wouldn't have fit anyway
The bad - Ivan's severe lack of self-preservation when he works doesn't get him into too much trouble, because he has his team backing him up. By being Remi's only backup, he's taking that away. So I don't believe for a second that neither of them has been caught yet - they're just too irresponsible for that - Ivan didn't seem to care about Remi's safety at all. They found out she stole something that could have killed her, and Ivan wasn't affected even a little bit. He just shrugged and said she's still alive. What the fuck? - There was no difference between any of the POVs. The tone was always the exact same. What happened to everybody's personalities? - The plot made no sense at all. The attack 'plan' was not really a plan (honestly, everything would probably have been cleaner and more effective had Glenn and Ross just stayed at home with their clan), and the conclusion was anticlimactic. Why spend so much time hyping up how strong and scary this warlock is, and then defeat him like this? That doesn't fit at all with the profile that was sketched of him, where he was in hiding for decades - Remi got two POV chapters. Seriously? She wasn't even an MC in the Unholy Trifecta books. This read more like a spin-off than a cross-over
I was really excited for this, but I'm afraid Sherwood has decided to go in a direction that just doesn't work for me. I've loved most of her books thus far, but it's harder and harder to find personalities and differences buried under all the comedy. The plot made no sense, and the ending was anticlimactic. Would not recommend....more

The neutral o I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. My review remains honest and unbiased o This book requires a lot of suspension of disbelief. Devante leaves traces at crime scenes everywhere (CCTV, fingerprints etc) but never gets in trouble with any authorities
The bad - Devante had planned to wake Micah up with a blowjob before their first sexual experience together. That's just rape, as Micah couldn't consent in his sleep. Glad that didn't happen - The plot made no sense at all. Devante wanted out of that life, and he knew the whole operation was rigged. Why did he insist on continuing? Why not just run already? He put himself and Micah in danger by following a plan that made it very simple for his enemies to know where to show up to kill them - Once Devante decided Micah was his boy, his personality did a complete 180. It was like reading a book where Devante was actually two different characters - There was a lot of buildup to two essential moments. (view spoiler)[Determining the artefact was real, and killing Zakarian. (hide spoiler)] The first didn't happen at all, and the second happened off-page. Kind of a let-down - The Daddy/boy dynamics were hardly explored on-page. It was Micah's first time in such a relationship (or any relationship), but we hardly saw anything other than Devante saying "Mine"
Quotes x "Mine."
In the author note at the start of the book, the author states this book is different from her usual work. I'm afraid she indeed missed the mark here. It's clear that Daddy/boy dynamics are not new to her, and Devante's possessiveness was great. However, the action plot really fell flat for me. It made no sense to me, and neither did Micah's attraction to Devante's first personality. Unfortuantely, this book is a miss, and I wouldn't recommend it....more
Daddy's Toy(M/M) by K.M. Neuhold - 2 stars Robbie has been lusting after his roommate for ages, and watching the online Daddy videos Nathan makes. At Daddy's Toy(M/M) by K.M. Neuhold - 2 stars Robbie has been lusting after his roommate for ages, and watching the online Daddy videos Nathan makes. At some point, he orders a dildo in the shape of Nathan's dick, and gets caught. Luckily, Nathan seems horny instead of angry when he inevitably finds out. This story was okay, even if it seemed intrusive to me at times. Robbie and Nathan were a perfect fit. My biggest issue was that, once again, boys get punished for their mistakes, but Daddies get away with them.
Loki and Tony(M/M) by M.A. Innes - 4 stars Daddy Dom Robyn (Tony) was the sweetest softie ever, and bratty sub slash adorable Little Hunter (Loki) was his perfect match. Their relationship was very sweet, complete with Innes' brand of instalove. The beginning was very confusing with all the side characters, but it got better very quickly. Enjoyable read.
The Sheriff's Troublemaker(M/M) by Kelly Fox - 2 stars Jason is a broken and lost boy, in desperate need of some guidance and love. And he wants Sheriff Patrick. But Patrick thinks his job and reelection are more important than Jason, and he keeps his distance while Jason self-destructs and has multiple breakdowns. Then, when he finally pulls his head out of his ass (while still demanding his friends keep it all a secret), he says: "You mean everything to me, Jason." How could he, when he never did anything to show it? Patrick didn't take his responsibility as a Daddy, and I hated it. I did really like the part where he cleaned up his boy in the shower, inside and out. Very intimate.
Far From Paradise(M/M) by Daryl Banner - 3 stars Seany is homeless and hungry, and steals some nuts from bar owner Cooper. But Cooper isn't having it, and chases him down. He ends up taking Seany home, and Seany never leaves again. I really liked the mutual caretaking in this one. I didn't really like that Cooper still saw it as a temporary thing until Seany would find "real love" with someone else, and it made me uncomfortable that he kept referring to Seany as "kid" even after they'd been intimate already. This one didn't really contain Daddy dynamics, but more mutual caretaking. The honorific Daddy was only used once I believe, and not really addressed.
Daddy's Bliss(F/F) by Ava Sinclair - 3 stars Bliss is lost and Tandy can't resist being the one to help her find her way. I really liked how affirming Tandy was, and how sweet Bliss was. Many things were described in little summaries, instead of playing out on-page, which made it harder to really feel the development of their relationship. I also didn't like the plot line with Inez, as it went nowhere. I absolutely loved the epilogue, though.
Cruising For A Daddy(M/M) by Jacki James - 3 stars Adam's sister gifts him a ticket for a Daddy/boy cruise, in the hopes Adam finally has some fun and maybe finds a boy. On the cruise, he finds Ollie. Their connection is instant and very sweet. I really liked the things they did together and how well they fit. I would have liked Adam's bossiness to come out a bit more, and I felt like he maybe insulted Ollie's self-sufficiency with his demands to pay for everything, always. But overall a very cute story with a sweet ending.
Bite Me, Daddy(M/M) by Mia Monroe - 4 stars Scout has a massive crush on his boss, Sebastian. When Sebastian asks him to help with a staffing project, Scout immediately agrees. Sebastian then admits his romantic attraction to Scout, which was ridiculously cute. I really liked the role reversal in this one, too.
Becoming Nicky's Daddy(NB/NB) by Reese Morrison - 5 stars Nicky believes they're only attracted to men. Mars believes she's only attracted to women and thinks penises are gross. But they slowly figure out they're really fucking in love with each other anyway, and the slow exploration of their relationship is beautiful. I loved this story so much.
Dante's Daddy(M/M) by Maren Smith - DNF Campbell works at a professional BDSM service, and Dante comes for a weekend to experience what he truly desires before he gets married to someone he doesn't love romantically. Extremely questionable situation. Anyway, Campbell proceeds to treat Dante pretty bad, Dante is not having fun, and then Campbell basically threatens Dante into never using the company safeword (which would call security automatically) instead of their scene safeword. The company safeword is there for a reason, and making your sub feel threatened and too afraid to use it is awful. Did not finish.
Not A Bad Boy(M/M) by Morticia Knight - 5 stars Tyler the adorable boy doesn't look like the average Little or Middle, which makes him feel unwanted. Rafe makes sure to boost his self-confidence by being the best and sweetest Daddy who ever Daddied. I also loved the creative use of Tyler's piercings. Lovely read.
Surprising Their Secretary(M/M/F) by Jamie Merrick - 4 stars Husbands Dylan and Shaun have been looking for a Little girl for a long time. When their attractive secretary Jordan turns out to be a Little, they can't wait to scoop her up and seduce her. The combination of a cheeky Master and a soft Daddy seems perfect for her. I really liked how they'd already carved out a place for her in their lives before meeting her, and made sure she was never a third wheel. I didn't really understand why they wanted a girl specifically, and not a boy, but other than that it was a pretty good story, even though the writing was a little clunky sometimes.
Glut(M/M) by Gianni Holmes - 4 stars Riley's kink is being in the center of gangbangs. Blake loves watching those and wants to take care of Riley afterwards. When he saves Riley from his abusive ex, he can finally protect and take care of Riley. A very sweet story, with a real teddy bear Daddy and an insecure but beautiful boy. The story ended a little too open-ended, with too many storylines unresolved. Other than that, a very sweet read.
Daddy Material(M/M) by Emma Alcott - 3 stars Aiden moves in with his dad's best friend Derek so he can go to a college nearby. He's instantly physically attracted to Derek, and after some coaxing by his best friend, decides to seduce the man. I loved how considerate Derek was, and his friendship with Aiden's dad. Unfortunately, this story was based entirely on physical attraction, as we saw no conversations or sweet Daddy moments on page.
The Daddy Upgrade(M/M) by Chara Croft - 3 stars Ollie gets dumped by his not-boyfriend at the airport, and consoled by the guy he's had a crush on since forever. Yves is a Daddy looking for a specific kind of little boy, and he finds out slowly that Ollie fits the bill perfectly. The back-and-forth where both their insecurities got the best of them again and again took up a little too much of the novella, but I liked Yves' specific kink and the way they worked together. All the French was really jarring and out of place, though, and kind of messed up the flow of the story.
Austin's Unexpected Little(F/F) by Siobhan Smile - 2 stars Daddy Austin has crushed on her neighbor Constance since before Constance's divorce. Two years later, she finally starts her seduction. The writing didn't really work for me in this one. Constance was referred to as a Little, but nothing happened in that regard. There was also a lot of buildup to penetration, but it didn't happen in the story. Why build it up so much, then? And the first time they were together, Austin said she wouldn't touch Constance's breasts or between her legs. She broke both promises within minutes. This story just didn't do it for me.
Wanted: Hot Daddy(M/M) by Sammi Cee - 3 stars Hayden is a bratty little shit, and Daddy Waylan sees right through his defenses and decides he wants this boy. Their dating process and relationship development was very sweet, but I didn't like how much of an ass Hayden was in the beginning. I think an actual apology was in order there. But I love how Hayden found his place and Waylan found his perfect boy.
Daddy's Gachapon Boy(M/M) by Della Cain - 3 stars Jax is a boy who doesn't know he might be into kink yet, and Monroe is a Daddy looking for a specific kind of almost-Little. They meet, they date, they fall in love and it's very sweet. I liked Jax's collection, I was a little confused on why Littles would say Monroe wasn't a real Daddy, and I think this story went too fast. After the first date, the story immediately skipped ahead to after they'd already confessed being in love. The reader missed all the good stuff!
Three Daddies(M/M/M/F) by Mika Lane - 1 star This story had so many issues I don't know where to begin, so let me highlight the three most important ones. First, this was not a Daddy story. Timo was a sugar daddy, but that was all. No Daddy kink whatsoever. Second, condoms were only used when two men had penetrative sex. The idea that only men can transfer STIs is bullshit. There is not even an argument here for hygiene reasons, as the FMC took a bare dick up the ass later. Condoms should have been used by everyone. The third issue is even worse. Timo said his wife divorced him because Timo was bisexual, and she couldn't live with his bisexuality because she wasn't into threesomes and she didn't like him having a guy on the side. This story very strongly conveyed that bisexual people can't be happy in a strictly monogamous relationship, which is absolute bullshit. Timo was polyamorous, which is completely fine. But 'blaming' his desire for multiple partners on his bisexuality is incredibly biphobic.
Opal(M/M) by Lesley Clark - 2 stars Daddy Mario is an esteemed member of a mafia family. When he sees homeless boy Francisco (Frankie) in a diner, he decides he needs him as his boy. Frankie has a dangerous past, and Mario is determined to protect him. This story is incomplete, in the sense that it'll continue in a different book, which sucks.
Tucking In(M/M) by P.D. Carter - 1 star Tucker is on his way to his (ex) best friend Alex's funeral, when he meets up with Alex's brother, BJ. About 98% of the story then revolves around Alex, how he was an absolute dick about both Tucker and BJ coming out to him, and how he was supposedly forgiven just because he died. Tucker even called his own feelings invalid and petty, while he wouldn't have done so had Alex still been alive. Someone's death doesn't impact how you deserve to feel. Alex was a major asshole about it, and that's that. Anyway, the last 2% were a six month time jump into the future where everything is perfect and they've also magically forgiven BJ's homophobic family. So they have sex. The end. This story should never have been a short, and the MCs weren't even the main characters in their own story. Alex was.
Dani's Dominant Daddy(F/F) by Delia Grace - DNF Katherine was the worst Daddy ever. She threatened to punish Dani for things Dani didn't know were punishable. She disrespected Dani's boundaries over and over again. She punished Dani harshly when all Dani needed was compassion. Dani was miserable. And Katherine took it so far that Dani got scared. If your girl is scared of you, you failed as a Daddy. I couldn't continue after that horrible soap situation. Dani needed compassion, not punishment.
His Second Chance Daddy(M/M) by Lorelei M Hart - 2 stars Omega Penn had a boyfriend in high school, alpha Andre. They parted ways when they went to different colleges, and reconnect in this story, a few decades later. I think the relationship was sweet, but the pacing was off and there were more summaries of events and time skips than actual dialogue and time spent together. There were also some big editing errors in this one. It could have been sweet, but didn't really work for me.
Cuddly Mafia Daddy(M/M) by Aster Rae - 2 stars This was easily the weirdest book I've read this year, and I've read that potato shifter book... I think I enjoyed it because it was so crazy and short, but I wouldn't read anything else by this author. What a wild ride. My biggest issue was that Landon had his heart broken by his ex boyfriend when he broke up with him because Landon wasn't ready for sex yet after three months and kept pressuring him. Then Landon proceeds to pressure Dverek into sex, and even implies it'll be over if they don't have sex soon. After they knew each other for two weeks. Very nice, Landon.
Codename: Omega(M/M) by Dakota Trace - 4 stars Little Ángel is homeless and in need of help. Daddy Giles takes him in as a part of a Little Sanctuary organisation. Their attraction grows, until they start a relationship. They're very cute together, and I liked how responsible Giles was. I do wish the mini plot with Ángel's dad was executed better, but overall a loving and hopeful story.
Breaking and Entering(M/M/F) by Chloe Lynn - DNF I quit this one after one chapter. Allie is fucking manipulative. Jason should ditch her ass and get with Victor instead. Fuck Allie the manipulative bitch.
Daddy's Guarding(M/M) by Pepper North - 4 stars While the plot/setting absolutely confused me, it seems Alan was equally confused. Daddy Pete kind of blew into Alan's life like a whirlwind, and they fit together very well. I'm very happy Alan is happy now, and that Pete fits him so well. Cute read.
Perfect Daddy at Fifty-One(M/M) by Nora Phoenix - 4 stars Leif is a little lost now that his best friend has a boyfriend and can't provide him discipline anymore. Luckily, Frank is up for the job. They fall hard and fast, and they fit together perfectly. I do wish Leif had kept his job, but I'm glad he got everything he wanted. This was a cute story, and I'm happy they found their HEA....more
