But who is telling the lies and who is deceiving who? These characters had me going back and forth as to who is really the bad guy here. You have Jessica who misses her sister so much that she tries to be like her. You have Iridian who is scared to sleep in her own home. Then you have Ana the youngest who is dealing with her emotions by finding the Hyena that has escaped.
I love the poetic way this book was written. It does have a slight touch of Magic Realism. The way the characters are written you can feel all their pain and emotions. I would recommend this book to all who would love a quick touching read....more

You have the moment where the main character Nick meets Ellie the night of the presidential election of 2008. Then you have the after the part where their relationship is over and Nick is trying to figure how everything went wrong. The third part (The Intermission) is written more in depth of their relationship and how some things were in Nick's mind.
This book deals with relationships, friendships, and trying to figure life out when it seems that everything is falling apart.
I felt the book was a little slow. I had a hard time investing my time in this story so it took a little longer to finish. I felt like Nick was a little annoying with his choices. The movie references I didnt get because I have never watched any of the movies. With that aside. I did find Nick and his sister funny at times. I did like The Intermission parts of the story where you get to know the characters a little bit better. Unfortunately that was the shortest part of the story.
