On top of that, the entire book is made up of what seems to be the author’s guesses and assumptions about the specific inner thoughts and feelings these women had 70 years ago. Maybe I’d be more charitable to all the assuming if the author hadn’t been so sloppy with the minor easily googled things… if you can’t get basic stuff right why should I trust you to get these very specific hard to verify details right lmao.
Anyway surely there’s something better on this subject to read bc these women are super interesting, this just didn’t do them any justice. If you still want to read it, just read this 40 times and you’ve basically got the gist of it:
