Some small tidbits that really slapped: omega sniffing through scent samples to find her matches at the omega center, a caring Dom ("did you drink water today?" type of Dom), cam creator, feral alphas, and primal tendencies. The way the beginning is pretty dark before getting a touch lighter.
Main gripes: Feral alphas being called dogs--I understand it in the context of the fighting rings, but the way they're treated later on in the book was....not ideal. The name she chooses for one of the feral alphas-excuse me, what? LMAO. There's a lot going on at once in here, so it may come off as *too much*. The ending wasn't exactly what I wanted but I'm still satisfied in the end.
Overall, I still really liked this one and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author!...more

While I adore the Prices, and tolerate the Langleys, this overall was kinda whatever to me.
The series of unfortunate events that was the Turks and Caicos wedding gave me stress hives, the exhibitionism was a delight, high Caleb is the best Caleb. Aaaaaaand that's about all that stood out to me.

So here's the thing: I WANT to love every single omegaverse story I pick up. It's my favorite genre of romance! There is no joy in my life if not for these OVs.
Unfortunately, this book takes things in a direction that I cannot reconcile with.
PROS: -Candy is so sex positive, sensual, and vocal about her wants and desires. She's sexy, feels sexy, and isn't afraid to flaunt it. That confidence and positivity is amazing and I would love to emulate just a fraction of her energy. -The Alphas are that classic growly, possessive, will make the best decision for the overall pack instead of upholding one member over the others. -Bodyguard Alphas and their scent matched Principal! -These characters are in a shitty situation and make the best of what cards they've been dealt.
CONS: -While I understand their circumstances, it took me out of the story and I struggled to root for the main characters. (view spoiler)[So Candy signs a 10 year long contract binding her as a sex worker for this bossmanperson. But during her training, she meets her scent matches! Well they're all shit out of luck because SHE SIGNED A BINDING CONTRACT. Despite this pull to her Alphas, she spends each day fucking the highest bidder of the night. And her Alpha bodyguards are forced to stand outside her door and guard and hear and smell the whole thing go down and it fucking sucks. (hide spoiler)] I get it. This adds angst, conflict (external and internal), and what not, but having scent matched people do other people doesn't fly in my head. -This is a smut heavy book. Lovers of smut, this is for you! However, while some bits of this book are exceptionally hot, I do think they go on for a smidge too long. -Pacing was also more drawn out than I would've liked.
So overall, this was entertaining but I can't say I wholeheartedly enjoyed it. There's a lot of intrigue crafted surrounding bigbossman and I want to know his deal so bad. Perhaps his story will be touched on in the future!

I think I'm ending my reading here for this series. While the art is pretty, some of the smiling scenes can be creepy if you look at it long enough ahah. (But my decision to stop reading isn't because of the smiling).
The story doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The insecurities that show up in volume one persist in volume two and come to a head with one of the guys running away and staying at a friends' house.

Burned fierMy biggest rival turned into my biggest love, and even though we still fought on the regular, the fire behind it was different. Better. Burned fiercer. Maddox Kane came along and rocked everything I thought I knew, and as prideful as I was, it was damn difficult to change my tune.
Ever wonder what happens to a couple after they get their HFN? This book explores that and let me tell you: shit hits the fan. Hard.
These two enemies turned lovers navigate cohabitations, insecurities, parental relationships, the cops, and prison. It's a doozy.
At first, I was kinda over it. Maddox and Devon are stuck in a cycle of hurting each other, apologizing and resolving to be better, profusely admitting they love each other, and then go back to hurting each other. I get it, but also I don't want it lol. It's very on brand for these melodramatic guys, I just wasn't enjoying it.
Then there's the Jim plot and I checked out my sense and went along for the ride.
Overall, I still love the four main guys in this. I adore the volatile nature of Maddox and Devon, but it was exhausting to wade through haha. I can't wait for Xavier and Nate though!...more

Amazing.
This was really unique and entertaining! Cavo is the sweetest, innocent giant af demon to have every walked around whereas the human man is the scandalous one of the two.
I initially didn't love how horny Liam is in the beginning because those kinds of characters tend to be very one dimensional, but he's slowly growing on me. I'm intrigued by the reason he's on the run and I can't wait for the deflowering of Cavo lmao. ...more

This could've been amazing: full of angst, tension, pining, and finally requited love.

But we don't get any of that. The switch from friends to lovers was instantaneous and their relationship felt superficial and shallow. We have the background of their long-standing friendship, but that doesn't mean you can just skip over the necessary relationship development to really make this convincing.
Brendon was emotionally immature and his dependence on Paul was concerning. The whole "intense" puck bunny subplot was really random and I didn't understand why it had to be included. I was really disappointed that past traumas weren't actually addressed either?
Ultimately, this was kinda boring, more smut than substance, but there's lots of hurt/comfort for those who love that. ...more

Glade is an omega on the run. She'd rejected her scent matches, got with a bad dude, and ran away to hide at High Roller. Then one day her jaded scent matches show up to kidnap her, get the truth, and not let her get away again.
We then get a slow reveal of the reason why she left, how the guys dealt with the aftermath, and their sweet revenge and reconciliation.
I do think the character foundation in the beginning borders on too vague to be solid. Glade's meant to be a mafia princess but that title isn't expanded on to really set her up as a character, I would've loved to see that explored more and explained in relation to the Brotherhood. I unfortunately felt a little lost in the beginning handful of chapters.
After that though? When we meet Zed, Kyan, and Knight? Glorious perfection. Kyan's my favorite of the group, which is to be expected, because I ALWAYS favor the extra nutty one in a Marie OV.
And the stakes get raised even higher when the original big bad is on scene and his schemes are thwarted by our darling pack.
This was really enjoyable and I adore this meeting of the minds series so much!...more

Basically, FMC is a foster kid, grew up with three guys she ends up loving. They age out before her, leave to LA to pursue music, and promise to come back for her after she ages out. Two years go by. Radio silence. FMC runs away her 18th birthday, heart broken, and finds herself working at High Roller. She only has one client, a hunky alpha who's starting to get attached to her, but one day, the three alphas of her past are at her workplace. In comes a kidnapping and revealed relationships and shenanigans.
This was so freaking entertaining. I don't know what the author put in this but I couldn't put it down. There's MM/MMM action, two of the four guys are ACTUALLY HALF BROTHERS, and by the end they scheme with each other and it's great, and I genuinely enjoyed it so much.
My main gripe is the third act conflict and how there was just a touch too much yelling, but everything else was super fun. Would definitely recommend this one for a good time! ...more

What works: -I genuinely did not know how this book was going to end, so being in the dark was really fun. -The smut was hot. We love a power bottom and a man obsessed. -It's messy in the best way. -The ending concept was sweet but I still felt like there was so many threads left unresolved.
What took me out (in a negative way): -Rapha was low-key high-key unlikable. -I needed more Jaehyun POV chapters. Just because I want to know what was going on in his mind and but also to really solidify this as a romance. Unfortunately, this is a relationship built on lust. Literally. Rapha sees Jae once and has an instant hard-on and is obsessed with him for the rest of the book. But what about Jae as a person? When does Rapha actually learn who this other man is and vice versa? -The writing. Okay, I understand the decision to have Jae's dialogue be written with some broken English, but when it's internal musings? Questionable. This book would've greatly benefited from more editing. -Speaking of the writing. I did not like the choice to include romanized Korean text in the book lol. If the author wanted to include Korean, it should've been in hangul or if they kept it as romanized Korean, they should've had a glossary translation page to help out their readers. I thankfully have some Korean knowledge and was able to translate for myself and my friends but that inconvenience is not it.
Overall, I had fun. Jaehyun was SO Jimin coded, it was cute. This was entertaining for sure, but I can't say it was perfect. ...more

But if you don't like reading a book where the character is completely oblivious to the love interest's feelings towards them and a complete lack of communication, RUN AWAYYYY.
I read this for a fun time, it was entertaining for sure, but I wouldn't say this was good. This would've greatly benefited from world building. Nate could've been developed more, I know nothing about Ian's pack (we essentially only know Ian and his brother), I don't know why there are tensions between the Armitage and Kimball packs, and some other threads felt half-baked.
Ultimately, the most interesting character to me was Dor, someone who was introduced in the second half of the book and speaks a total of like 20 words. I want his book, please. Other than that, due to the abysmal world building, I just don't care enough to continue the series at this point in time....more
