I love friends to lovers stories and this was so much fun because we really get to see their history. I purposefully didn’t read the blurb on this one because I knew so many of my friends had loved this story. I admit I was expecting something totally different, but what this story really was was even better.
Jordan Carson and Owen Nelson have been best friends since second grade. Jordan may not have known he was gay then, but he still knew how to get the boy he wanted. Two bad for Jordan the same tricks don’t work as well when you’re older. Owen is the wrestling superstar, popular and sure to end up with a scholarship eventually for his prowess on the wrestling mat. Jordan basks a bit in his shadow, but Jordan gets to use his artistic abilities to good ends pairing his drawings with Owen’s writing on their comic. Still the older he’s gotten the more he’s realized while Owen will always be his best friend Jordan wants more. He knows he’s gay and the worst feeling in the world is being in love with the one man he can’t have because he’s so clearly straight.
Oh god Jordan was the cutest little boy! I loved his devious plot to make Owen his best friend. So smart for a second grader! I think the best part of this story was seeing how everything began. We as the reader got to grow up with these two boys. Being in both of their heads meant I really knew how they felt about each other and where they were at in their lives. I loved seeing Jordan develop and realize just what the thoughts and feelings in his body meant. This was believable and witty in a way that was completely unexpected.
This is a great sweet coming of age story for both boys. I wasn’t sure how this was going to work itself out, Owen was so straight in his own head. Love conquers all though and it just goes to show that it’s the person you love not their gender that really matters in the end. I liked how Owen didn’t just one day decide he was gay and dive into things. The experimentation he got sucked into with Jordan (hello awkward first kiss :D) certainly gave him loads to think about. I admired Jordan’s strength immensely too. He knew who he was, what he could have, and knew when it got to be too much. Standing up and saying no I need something different for my life takes so much courage and strength. I was completely with him in that moment.
I enjoyed both boys’ journeys so much in this little story. There was humor, angst, and more than a little sexual tension. This is a YA novel, but it certainly not with out a few sexy moments. I would probably term this closer to NA because of that. While it is not on every page the sexuality has not been removed from the book. There isn’t any penetrative sex occurring, but two horny teenage boys can certainly get up to plenty of mischief without going that far and the scenes themselves are explicit in their details. Their chemistry together is just explosive and their commitment to one another, even when only a friendship, was so admirable. Both boys had moments to stand up and support the other. I enjoyed the fact that they recognized how difficult high school had the potential to be even if Owen’s superstar status lent them both a little bit of breathing room. I adored Owen’s response to everyone as he stood by Jordan when he decided to come out. His protective instincts were charming.
I really enjoyed this story and Ms. Easton’s easy writing style. I connected to both boys and felt like this gay for you story really worked. Oh and I enjoyed Emily as well. She wasn’t bitchy or too smarmy. She was a sweet girl who was driven for something more. I appreciated how her story line was resolved without making it uncomfortable or anyone ending up hurt.
This is my first Eli Easton story I believe and I will definitely be back for more. The sexuality in this book doesn’t bother me personally, but I know that there are probably people out there who don’t want to see that much sexuality explored on the page in a YA novel. Still these two boys were super cute and I’m so glad they’ve found their HEA. I adored how supportive of each other they were and the fact that in the end the both want the other to achieve their dreams. Neither one of them wants to be the thing that denies Owen his wrestling or Jordan his art. I loved the solution that was found and had a great respect for Owen in the way he weighed out his decisions about what he truly wanted in life. Solid 4.5 stars for me!

Honestly silly as it may be the thing that knocked this book down a little for me was really the Danny side story. It felt completely out of context and believability. Everything else could be chocked up to frat boy craziness so I'd just smirk at it superiorily. Yeah, that's probably a made up word, but oh well.
Still I liked how patient Toby was with Jock. I mean there were times I wanted to smack him in the back of his head and tell him to get over himself, but Toby was all calm and let him figure things out in his own time. I enjoyed France as the backdrop for this story too. Made for a slightly different feel to this book than the others, but at the same time we got plenty of collegiate level humor too.
One of my favorite of the series for sure.

The college has the done the best they can to house the boys in a way to give them the most space for their issues. Of course that does throw them together.
Tom Worthington has fought hard to be able to get back to school and finish his degree. After his father was arrested for running a ponzi scheme Tom's life has spiraled out of control. All his family assets have been seized and he's been living essentially on the street driving a cab both legally and as a gypsy cab in order to save up enough money to get himself through his final year of school. Getting back onto campus though isn't the only struggle. Everyone there is aware of what happened and who his father is so the campus has agreed to house Tom in adult housing away from most of the typical college aged students. Stumbling into his new room half awake after a long few days driving he just wants to pass out and get some sleep.
Reese Anders was not supposed to have a roommate this year after what happened to him the year before. It was the only way this father would let him come back to campus. He was supposed to be set up in adult housing and be on his own. When a guy with a key stumbles in Reese is determined to do anything and everything he can to scare the guy away. Only Tom doesn't seem to be fazed by the fact that Tom's gay or any of the other things Reese has tried.
I really liked these two and their battle of wills over being stuck living together. Neither of them was prepared to really have a roommate, and certainly not the roommate they got, but they're just what the other needed. I enjoyed the slow burn nature of this build up. There was a lot of time spent while these two got to know each other with out even trying to get to know each other. There were a lot of misconceptions that only time could dissuade.
Altogether this was a really sweet story with a darker history. But like it should college offered both of these boys the opportunity to start over and find someone who would be there for them no matter what.

Sure, I know some of the basics and what the Tour is, but that's probably about the extent of it. This book actually gave me a greater understanding of the complexities of the sport and made it much more interesting. I liked that there were different goals to be trying to achieve with in the competition and it was all just about winning it all.
Pascal is an older rider for the sport of cycling. On his downswing of his career he's determined to win the one title that's always escaped him and it's the one he's most qualified to win. He's always been known as a mountains specialist not a speedster or sprinter. But he's never been able to win the coveted title of King of the Mountains in the Tour de France. He had it within his grasp the year before when a freak accident caused by getting hit by a car during the final stretch kept the title from his grasp. Now he knows it's his last shot and he's determined to retire with the polka dot jersey.
Laurent has been at the forefront of journalism for his native France for years. His face is recognized around the world. He loves his career and values his friendship with one of his countries premier cyclist greatly. Pascal's wreck the year before was devastating for anyone that knew him and Laurent knows how much support Pascal will have on his quest. He's determined to document his journey and be there right along with his friend.
I enjoyed the slower realization of what these two really felt for each other. Their past relationships had always kept them from realizing the potential they had together and the ending of Laurent's current relationship with this last push at the title for Pascal throws them together in a lovely story. This is a warm hearted story that makes you smile even through the rough stuff. It's a quick easy read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book was just meh. There wasn't anything in particular bad about it, there just wasn't anything that really brought me in either. Apparently there's a shifter world with their own sports league, but that's about all the explanation you get towards world building. I could have done without Wiley's grandmother who seemed to be put into the story as supposed humor, but really felt more like shock value and didn't really work for me at all.
The development of the romance was pretty clunky too. It kinda jumped moments without really stringing together a smooth build up of the realization of how these two friends really felt about each other. Wiley and Ram weren't a bad couple, but I didn't really felt like I got to know them as individuals. The whole thing was ok, but not anything I am jumping into the next book right away.

I liked I didn't like this story as much as the first in the series, but it was still a good book. I really liked both Danny and Laurie individually. I liked how their relationship developed. There was attraction from the start, but I did appreciate that this didn't become a story of their inability to resist when they should. I really don't like cheating stories. This walked the border, with a few questionable moments, but overall didn't trip my moral objections too much.
I did love how supportive Danny was of Laurie. He was the first person to really stand up for Laurie with full unqualified support. Danny is such a good soul. He works hard and has good reason for avoiding the major rodeos that he used to compete in before. But circumstances are pushing him back to the rodeo and into the danger he tried to get away from. Laurie was there for Danny when he needed him as well.
I'm enjoying this series and look forward to the next book.

Simon and Declan have been living happily together for a number of years and life seems to be going pretty well. That is until Declan's ex decides to finally retire and come out at the same time. Now the media hype is back and it's added tension in Simon and Declan's life.
This book deals with the ups and downs of life and friendships. The core group really does stand together and support each other as they deal with the things life has to throw at them. This book is much more of a real life scenario and the stresses that that life can put on a relationship.
I enjoy Simon's voice and his snark. It's fun even while he's dealing with real emotions and a lot of anger. I liked that the tension built between Declan and Simon and they struggled through figuring out how to talk to each other and deal with these new issues. But they kept trying. Their anger was really never at each other. They were frustrated at the insanity the situation had thrown them into and angry often on behalf of the other one. But sometimes that's not the easiest to explain.

I loved the Infected series and was really looking forward to this spin off, but it never really lived up to my full expectations.
So I think my first big huge problem with this book was Holden and Scott. Really this bugged me more than anything. The backtracking of their relationship was the polar opposite of what I was expecting. I love Scott and he was probably my favorite part of this book. I really wanted to see Holden starting to mature and look at what he wants. I feel like he backslid a bit in this story. Sure, maybe it makes some sense for setting up his own series and his own arc, but because we already know him so well I wanted to see more growth out of him in this first story. His vigilante tendencies worry me for him long term.
Overall the mysteries weren't bad. I enjoyed Holden getting his own sidekick. :) Scott, Grey, & Tank were wonderful as always. I love the hockey boys. While this wasn't my favorite book in this world I still love the world as a whole and I look forward to reading more.

I appreciated the conformation Lissy was seeking, but this seemed to bother both of them more than it really strengthened their relationship. It was a little over the top for me. But, as a couple these two really were good together. This story comes as a novella after the first book in the I-Team series, but really could be read as a standalone as neither of these characters really feature in the first book. This is a fun, sexy romp in the build up to Will and Lissy's wedding and is satisfying in that by the end of the story both know they've found their person.

But for all that this was MF I still fell in love with the characters and the familial relationships between them all. I love Juan Pablo and his friends. It's very clunky dialogue and when you top that with extreme religious beliefs it's even less palatable.
There really wasn't any of this story that I enjoyed. I'd really give it 1.5 Stars overall. The relationship between Liam and Cody was way to co-dependent and over obsessive. There wasn't a lot of flow to the story and plot points didn't really make a lot of sense. They were fine but basically forced into being to move the story not feeling organic.
Ultimately this was unfortunately a slog. I didn't particularly enjoy Liam's voice. And well his (view spoiler)[cutting (hide spoiler)] felt very easily added and just as easily discarded. None of that makes sense with how serious that is. I really wanted to like this book but there just wasn't enough to keep me interested.

I really wanted to like this book but there just wasn't enough to keep me interested....more

I loved seeing Roan and Dylan coming back into town to help out. But it just killed me to see what's going on with the progression of the virus in Roan. I have no idea how Ms. Speed is going to resolve this, especially since we all know she's not afraid to kill off characters. So nervous!
At the same time as much as I like Holden I still don't love him. His vigilante side needs tempering. I want to see him start to heal and find peace in himself. He has so much anger and pain inside that he doesn't even acknowledge to himself. I really hope he can let himself start to really connect with Scott and allow that relationship to help him heal.
The mysteries in this one were scary in how dangerous they were to our favorite people. Nothing crazy complicated but dangerous all the same. I enjoyed the Dee and Chai side storyline as well. Chai's reactions to Roan were a lot of fun. It's been awhile since we've had a main character being new to the crazy that is Roan.
All in all I enjoyed this book, but I'm really looking forward to character development in Holden. He's in a scary place. He needs to find a healthier mental place to be.

So bummed I have to wait to get the next book. I always liked hockey, but this series makes me fall in love with the world of lower tier hockey. Max and Misha were just so sweet. I loved them.
The history between these two is substantial yet momentary. They really don't know each other despite being the catalyst for the major change they both underwent. Being thrown back together is an awkward moment, but watching them learn about each other and discovering what they felt for each other was wonderful. Both Max and Misha were strong characters. They have opposite personalities and that benefits them both as a coaching team and in their personal lives. These guys balance one another well. I love the quality of the writing with this series that makes for such rich stories even when the plotlines themselves are relatively simplistic.

It's a pretty typical werewolves living among us world but the characters were interesting and the action moved along at a great clip. I was sucked into the story and liking where things were going.
So in typical antiquated fashion our intrepid hero is about to shoved into an unwanted marriage in order to save the pack. Cole's next in line to become alpha and while he hates talking in front of people and large crowds (all complete with stuttering) he has the power to be alpha and he loves his pack. Only one problem Cole knows he's gay, has said he's gay, but is pretty much ignored on the subject and his parents are determined to push this alliance through to save the pack from attack from outside. Cole knows there's no way out and is going to suck it up and go through with it for love of the pack. Then he meets his fiance's half-brother and all hell breaks loose internally for Cole. Paris doesn't smell like a wolf, he smells like cat, and actually is a rare half breed, wolf/panther shifter. He may only take a panther form but both genes are present. And Cole feels drawn to the man like no other.
I actually really liked both Cole and Paris in this story. Paris is a little oblivious to the actualities around him, but he's kept himself isolated for most of his life so it makes sense. But his snarky attitude kept me smiling. I liked seeing him play with his wolf. The fact that he's an exotic dancer cracked me up.
This story really only looses a star from me because I couldn't get over the sexy times dialogue between these two. It felt utterly ridiculous. I groaned every time I read it which was weird since the rest of the time their dialogue was fine. But the puppy and such got to be a bit much.
Altogether though a fun read and I already hope I know who book 2 is about. :D

I do really enjoy this series. This was another wonderful addition. I felt for Harrison and the trauma he was dealing with after the accident on Mt. EI do really enjoy this series. This was another wonderful addition. I felt for Harrison and the trauma he was dealing with after the accident on Mt. Everest. He's slowly trying to deal with his feelings about everything, the post traumatic stress of it all. Kenzie is also awesome. I love her work with search and rescue dogs and her sneaky plan to help Harrison was great, cause well puppies are awesome.
The suspense aspects of this story were minor really compared to some of the other stories. Sure there was a hint of what was to come and of course those elements drove the climax of the book, but this story was more about the healing that Harrison needed and what he and Kenzie meant to each other.
I love this series and look forward to the next book.

So in spite of this relationship progressing incredibly quickly and Ben acquiescing to Lucien's control before he even knew what the heck was going onSo in spite of this relationship progressing incredibly quickly and Ben acquiescing to Lucien's control before he even knew what the heck was going on, I still found myself enjoying this story. I loved the background of the crew club and all of the rowing. I find myself more and more fascinated with this particular sport for some reason.
Look the BDSM elements of this story felt rushed and a little forced onto Ben. There was never any attempt to explain anything to Ben, to make him feel more comfortable with the way he was reacting to Lucien. But I was able to deal with it and accept it as part of the story rationalizing that Lucien is a young Dom. He truly wanted to make Ben happy, but I wanted more communication between the boys about what was the underlying connection between them.
Still I liked both guys and wanted them to be happy together so at the end of the day I walked away from this one with a smile on my face.
