She proves it once more with Jinx and Ali. Ali was such a unique heroine with her background and career, she was perfect for Jinx.
As always, this hero fits into everything I love about the main character. Protective, possessive, jealous when the occasion arises and determined to make and keep her as his own.
”I am a f---ing lying bas--rd, you know that - but I am a bas--rd who is loyal to you. If it means you are protected, I will lie, steal, cheat, or kill in an instant.”
He’s also more than he appears on the surface. Getting to know the real Jinx was a journey only one woman could travel and even then he had a bit of a struggle. I loved every part of him.
This is one scorching thrill ride with twists and turns that kept me engaged each step of the way. If this is what it’s like to get jinxed, then sign me up...I need to be Jinxed!
Getting more from the Trouble for Hire group added moments that had me grinning from ear to ear. And we also meet Jinx’s brother Ramsey. His story is next and I suspect we’re going to have a whole lot of alpha overload with him and his lady. I can’t wait!
This can be read as a standalone although all the Trouble guys are worth checking out.

We met Layla in a previous book after she had witnessed her fiancée kill a man. Now she has moved to Redemption Harbor and is trying to settle down. After meeting Xavier they have become friends and while she feels things she normally doesn’t feel for a friend, she’s aware that he doesn’t share those same desires. But after a night out with another man, Xavier confronts her and holy heck, it was spectacular…until she woke up the next morning.
Xavier lives a life that doesn’t allow room for close relationships. Despite that hard and fast rule, he’s drawn to Layla, too much so. He struggles with his feelings until he finds her on a date with another man. It’s all he can take and he makes his move. While it’s the most amazing night of his life, he knows he can’t bring her any further into his life. Not only does his present and past cause potential danger for her, she’s simply too good for him.
There’s a lot of push and pull here, mostly that of Xavier. And I felt it was justified. But even as he’s pushing her away, Layla’s broken past rises up to taunt her with dark memories of not being worthy. When she finds herself in danger, Xavier steps in immediately to protect her. What follows is an action packed, emotionally filled story as they struggle to find a place where they can face each other head on and confront their feelings.
“She was already under his skin and he wanted to be under hers. Because he would take her with him wherever he went. She would live inside him.”
I loved how Xavier was so protective over Layla and wanted only what was best for her despite the fact that meant he would not be in her life. Add in the fact that Layla was strong enough to let him know exactly how she felt about his decisions as well as accepting what he did for a living made for a very enjoyable read.
All of the previous characters from Redemption make an appearance here helping this couple along not only with their special talents but with their friendship. This had a few surprises and no stupid decisions by the heroine, which I appreciated. The steam and chemistry between Layla and Xavier was evident form the very beginning and only accelerated each time they were together.
With a wonderful epilogue that brought us back full circle to the beginning of this series I’m recommending this to everyone who enjoys full on protective alpha heroes and the strong, kick a$$ women who own their hearts.

Eve’s character was strong but had a softness to her. She was able to endure but also able to do what was required to help Cain and battle their way to their happy ever after. I loved how she was determined to help Subject Thirteen despite being afraid of him.
Cain was definitely a bit frightful before I got to know him. His abilities were startling and had me flying through the pages to learn everything. The fact that he claimed Eve as his own and was determined to protect her above all else had me swooning with delight. But oh my, when it came to the end…he leaped onto my list of favorite heroes.

This couple shows the reason I read romance. Watching them work around their issues, which included battling some seriously bad, bad guys, kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Add in all the action, drama and danger as well as enough angst to have me tearing up, and this book is perfect!

This is a novella but it feels like so much more, mainly due to the fact Kathryn and Daniel had been in a relationship prior to the beginning of this story. That carries a lot of weight and validates their emotions and responses.
I loved the way Daniel had perceived his relationship with Kathryn the first time around as well as his reactions to her when they were reunited a few months later. Any hero that is possessive, jealous and above all, protective, is a hero I will always recommend. Add in some smexy moves and all my check-boxes have been marked.
While this is primarily about the relationship between Kathryn and Daniel, it has its standard Katie Reus suspense and mystery threaded throughout it making it even more of a page turner. I gobbled this down in one sitting and was immediately hungry for the rest of the series.
With action and drama sprinkled throughout, secondary characters I can’t wait to get more of and the sizzling chemistry with this couple, I highly recommend this!

Trunk is broody and a bit standoffish, especially when it comes to Jaimie. But when he lets himself take a chance with her, he falls fast and hard. With a strong protective instinct, he often makes decisions before discussing them with her and they have a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to manage this issue.
Jaimie is a strong independent heroine but she’s also got scars from the way her ex treated her. She doesn’t hesitate to let Trunk know when she’s feeling some of the same ways she did with her ex.
I especially loved all the ovary exploding moments when Trunk interacts with Jaimie’s son, River. He is absolutely perfect with him and River is stinking adorable. Kids are often written as a filler but not so here. River’s character was just as developed as Trunk and Jaimie.
The chemistry between this couple absolutely sizzles and the evolution of it from physical desire to something more was pure magic...no games, just good old fashioned romance. This has a lot of drama both in the club and for Trunk and Jaimie individually. I love the way this author layers her plot to leave you guessing as to what’s going on or who the bad guy is.

This couple had some issues and a rough road before they finally found their footing. I was totally caught up in their relationship drama, biting my nails as they each were pulled into danger and suspense outside their relationship as well. There wasn’t a moment where something wasn’t happening or I didn’t feel the sense of trouble waiting in the peripheral of their personal story.
This cover hinted at a somewhat different hero, but I didn’t have a clue just how unique Radar was going to be. A little geeky with a tremendous talent in front of a computer, he also shined with an alpha attitude when it came to Hillary. She was more than capable of handling his dominant manner in a way that had me cheering her on. Feisty! I loved it!
Starting with a rush of action, this never really slowed down. Radar and Hillary were quite heated in more than one way and I was consumed with everything about them. With additional characters that added either support or more drama and a plot line I didn’t see coming, I refused to put this book down once I started.

Exceptional narration by both of these narrators. This has a lot of drama and some intense moments. Ms. Coster and Mr. Kafer both did an excellent job of adding to these moments which ramped up my enjoyment of this story.
No one does romantic suspense better than Katie Reus! The drama and action starts at page one and never lets up. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and ended up reading this in one sitting, it was just that good.
I absolutely loved this hero and heroine! Lucas is that strong, alpha who is smart enough to allow the heroine to work through her issues. He never pushes her into more than she can handle and he never oversteps the boundaries she’s set. Nevertheless, it’s clear that he cares for her and will do anything to protect her.
”And until then, he was going to keep Serenity safe. She was his to protect, no matter what. He didn’t care if they weren’t together – if they might never be. He would do anything to keep her safe.”
Serenity, while broken, was strong and determined. She fought against her growing feelings for Lucas, but she pretty quickly came to realize that she could depend on him without him taking control of her life.
The relationship between this hero and heroine was a bit of a slow burn that allowed Serenity to grow to the place she could freely give her heart. It was everything beautiful in the midst of fear and danger. I loved how Lucas yielded to her needs and how she never took it for granted. They were perfect for each other!
The drama here is absolutely intense! There is constantly something new happening while everyone is following clues. The villain was maniacal and played up to this heroine’s fears and I was completely loss as to who it was. This is one of those reads that you’ll find yourself holding your breath as you turn the page, afraid of what the next words are going to reveal.
This is the very best in romantic suspense with enough steam to make the building relationship believable. The pace is lightning fast and never repetitive. Secondary characters add to the overall story and some of them I’m hoping we’ll see again with their own book. I loved absolutely everything about this one and can’t help but to recommend it for those who enjoy dark danger, gentle romance, and a wild mystery.

Just a look at her picture is enough to send his protective instincts into overdrive. Once he meets her face to face, he’s completely gone for the sweet innocent woman who is in a madman’s crosshairs.
Hadley had a rough upbringing and now that she’s met her brother and father she’s finding a contentment she never knew, even if they are a bit overprotective. When she spills coffee on a handsome stranger she immediately feels attraction to him, not knowing that he’s been monitoring her actions. As they become closer Hadley has stars in her eyes not realizing that Axel is keeping a deep dark secret from her. One that has the potential to rip her heart out.
I loved Axel so much! He was so totally in it with Hadley. Every step he took, every decision he made was to keep her as long as he could before the inevitable would happen. Once his secret was revealed there was no way she would want to be with him and my heart hurt at his assurance that all would be over when that day came. And that day must come soon, and he’s the one who must reveal all his secrets to her, quickly. That was just additional angst to an already fraught situation.
Hadley was so sweet. She deserved all the goodness life could offer and she has fought hard to become something more. When things take a drastic turn she never loses her control. She may not be able to physically take down a threat, but she keeps her emotions in check and handles each change in her perceptions with a strength that was compelling to read about. She was the perfect woman for Axel and together they were amazing.
Each book in this series has gotten better and Innocent Target is no exception. Definitely my favorite of the group at this point. Axel and Hadley both checked all my boxes for a great hero and heroine. This is a fast paced read with lots of action, well developed secondary characters that added to the plot rather than bog it down, so much steam you’re going to need a fan, and an ending that will leave you with a happy and contented sigh.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Audio-Book: Narrator – Sophie Eastlake Wow! I loved this narrator’s voice. It was rich and full and perfect for both the female and male characters. I had previously read this book but found listening to it brought this book to life in a way I wasn’t expecting, making it an even more enjoyable story. I highly recommend it!
Like the other books in this series, this is filled with plenty of action, drama, suspense and steamy chemistry.
Nova and Gage have had a thing for each other since their first phone conversation when he was completely rude and she told him off. As coworkers and Gage her almost boss, he refuses to act on his attraction to her. When Nova sets off to help a friend in distress, Gage invites himself along and they soon find themselves in a mess of epic proportions. And that’s all it takes for the walls around them to collapse.
While I may not have been completely convinced of Gage’s reasoning for staying away from Nova, there is no denying he is one delicious jealous, protective and obsessed hero. Despite the fact that she can take care of herself, he has a deep seated need to protect and care for her. Nova is completely independent and more than capable of her own protection but it does feel good to know that Gage has her back. And once she finally got her foot through Gage’s proverbial door she was going to go for it all.
This had a bit of push and pull to it as well as chase from each main character at different times. With all the drama surrounding this couple, this story moved very quickly. Gage and Nova were both very likable and the heat factor between them was intense and felt real. The resolution of their problems regarding the bad guy seemed a bit forced, and rushed but I loved the epilogue and was more than satisfied when this story ended.

For Vivienne, time is runnOh my gawd! I am absolutely in love with Vivienne and Jason as well as the rowdy group of characters that orbit their lives.
For Vivienne, time is running out to build the perfect family. Mr. Right is nowhere in sight and the hot cab driver she just spent the night with is definitely not him. Their age difference alone is enough to clue her in to that fact. So with a tin of muffins, a smile, and a distracting kiss goodbye, she sends him on his way. Three months later, and still no hope in sight, she finds her cab driver once again in charge of getting her home. She may have long term goals that Jason will never fit into, but she’s certainly going to enjoy him while she can.
Jason was gone on Vivienne from the first moment she crawled into his car. After a night of intense pleasure and a connection he’s never felt with another woman, he’s shocked to find himself being the dumped rather than the dumpee the following morning. However, when the opportunity arises to see her again he takes the chance and the rest is history. Well, not exactly. There’s a lot of crazy that goes in between their re-connection and their happy ever after and I loved every minute of it.
Despite the conflicts this couple faced, this was such a fun story. Jason was laid back and easy going with a bit of a jealous, possessive streak in him. He might have been younger than Vivienne but that never deterred him from wanting her.
Vivienne had some issues she had to work through but she had the help of her friends and co-workers to assist her when she got caught up in her own head. They were freaking hilarious. There’s a bit of a twist to their story that I’ve never read before and I was fully invested in finding out how things were going to work out between this couple.
This is a fast paced read with some intense steam and a wonderful connection between the hero and heroine. I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more of them together, and a little less of the friends but I enjoyed the friends so much I can’t really complain. There’s a nice little epilogue that takes us into the future a few years and made me a very happy reader!

Oh my gawd!!! I am so in love with Asa and Keelie! Usually, it’s all about the hero, you know? But not this time. I absolutely fell in love with this Oh my gawd!!! I am so in love with Asa and Keelie! Usually, it’s all about the hero, you know? But not this time. I absolutely fell in love with this heroine. She’s had to put on a façade for so long. Struggled to find something normal that works for her and her children. Filled with so much anger and distrust, scared of what might happen in life, her character touched me in a way I’ve never been affected by a heroine before.
But don’t think for a second I didn’t tumble completely in love with Asa Hollingsworth as well. Oh dear lord! The man gives a whole new definition to dedication, protection and love. And then there’s the fact that I’m sure there wouldn’t be a woman around that doesn’t swoon should his attention shift to her. Or heck, to even be in the same room as him would cause swoonage in anyone that looked his way.
Together this couple took me to a wonderfully giddy, sometimes angsty, always wanting more, place. This is how romance is done!
Keelie meets Asa while ditched during a blind date. Literally, ditched. We quickly learn that the ability to change tires should be the main prerequisite when looking for a man. Asa fits the bill and despite Keelie’s decision to never date again, he pushes himself into her and her children’s lives all while gifting her with the things her life has been missing.
There is plenty of drama here with Asa’s daughter as well as Keelie’s emotional issues, but in true Brynne Asher fashion we ride the storm knowing that the end is going to leave us breathless, satiated, and happy. I loved the twist at the end, knowing it would be there but unsure where or how until it actually happened. The epilogue was spot on and so dang awesome I had to reread it immediately…just because I could.
If you haven’t read the previous books in this series, no worries. They each stand alone. However, I recommend you remedy that injustice immediately! After you read this one of course. No need to wait.
Okay, so I’m going to let you know that a friend of mine forced this author to let me have an advanced copy and Ms. Asher was too nice to say no. So yes, this is a review of an ARC but if you can’t tell it’s completely honest, all you have to do is check out the verified purchase on my Amazon review when this goes live.
And one last thing…If I had a pantry and an Asa, my farm would be a perfect kind of chaos as well.
Dual POV Safe, safe, safe! No ow/om…safe! Possible triggers – only if you are sensitive to drug usage (off page and not by any of the main or close secondary characters)

I was so excited to get my hands on this book. I’ve loved everything about this sister and couldn’t wait to see how her story was going to play out. To be paired up with her phantom? Oh my! It was absolutely thrilling!
I appreciated Verity’s strength and independence. For a woman of her time she was more than capable of doing her part in the sister’s business as well as holding her own within society. It was so fun to watch her meeting with Rafe and her suspicions of him being her Jack in the Green. As they continue to meet, her suspicions continue to grow and I couldn’t wait to find out what her reaction was going to be.
While Rafe isn’t the most alpha of heroes in this series, he won my heart not only by his relationship with his uncle, but by his concern over Verity’s reaction when his truth would be revealed. And just because he wasn’t the most alpha does not mean he didn’t hold his own. His actions with Verity were hot and steamy as well as deeply, achingly protective. And oh my! At one point my heart just ached for him.
This was so much fun reading! It’s filled with everything I love about historical romance and it felt genuine to the time. With the perfect blend of humor, mystery, steamy goodness and angst, this was pure perfection for me. Add in the fact that at one time I found myself actually welling up and swallowing down tears, and this makes my first favorite of the year.

I absolutely love this author’s heroes, but she also does heroines that are impossible to forget and Millie is definitely going to be one of those. She is inventive and quirky and her unique abilities had me wishing she were real and in my life. I loved absolutely everything about her. Once the story line kicks in and we learn what has happened with her, it was like a fist to the gut.
Scott was perfect for Millie. He was sweet and kind, and not a pushy alpha male that would trample all over her. That’s not to say he wasn’t protective, because he is that and so much more. I loved the organic way their relationship developed and his progression into falling for her.
This story line was a bit darker than expected but not so dark as to turn me away. I actually found this to be impossible to put down. The earlier cast of the series makes an appearance and I have to say that Wolf and Cat once more stole every scene they were in. I will never get tired of him and his own quirky ways. He’s a great big, scary marshmallow. When you add that with Roscoe's crazy behaviors, the tone of the story is leveled and absolutely perfect.
Holy ho ho ho!!! This is Christmas spiced romance at its very best!

I loved Wyatt! The fact that he had had a thing for Christy for years added Holy ho ho ho!!! This is Christmas spiced romance at its very best!

I loved Wyatt! The fact that he had had a thing for Christy for years added a dash of anticipation to the current situation he finds himself in with her. I loved his thoughts and fantasies as they ran rampant when face to face with her. But when he realizes she is in danger, his basic instincts kick in in a whole different manner. He’s there to protect her and, holy mistletoe, did he take his job to do so seriously!
This is a shorter read but has all the feels of a longer story. The characters are well developed and I found myself completely invested in their building relationship. There is a sprinkling of danger and drama that unraveled in an unexpected way. And I loved the various ways the holiday season played a part in Christy and Wyatt’s steamy interactions.
I highly recommend this for those that love a little spice and danger with their holiday romance.

Noah and Charlotte are both dealing with issues that have left them feeling broken and incomplete. They are each weighted down in mire without any hope of moving forward. I was anticipating their first meeting and when it came I loved that within a few short moments they had each imprinted their memory on the other.
What followed is a story that only Ms. Scott can provide. It is filled with moments that had me smiling as well as times that I swooned over their interactions. It also had moments so intense I could barely breathe through them and the type of angst that held me captive as this couple struggled to find what they needed to move onward.
I highly recommend this to anyone who likes an emotional read that will settle into your heart and leave you all the better for it.

Xavier was the perfect hero to star in this fairy-tale and I was a goner to his bad boy ways. I loved the way Mercy saw only the good in his monster. Watching him fall for her and fighting with his instinctive nature was a wonderful experience.
This is a fast read, relatively short, but gave me all that I could hope for in a longer book. While this had plenty of danger and drama, there was enough angst to cause a lump in my throat and a struggle not to cry. I’m excited at the potential for future books in this world and can’t wait to see what this author gives us.

This series introduced Hope, Paxton and Drake when they were children. Through each book, a little more information was given about them and the tension escalated as to what their ultimate roles would be. Especially Hope’s. I admit, I’ve loved this story arc and I’m disappointed that it’s over. It seems too fast. I wanted more of them as children/teenagers/young adults.
Nevertheless, this trio is grown and it’s time that their destinies play out. I never imagined it going in this direction and I was enthralled with each turn of the page. Once the relationships settled themselves down, the question of Ulric, and Hope’s place in it all took center stage. And then BAM! This author took the resolution into a way I never imagined and I absolutely LOVED it!

This is a fast paced read despite having plenty of meat on its bones. It’s filled with danger, drama and intensity, including the sizzling chemistry between Hope and her chosen one. Highly recommend this book wrapped up in this series.

Oh my gosh! This book has left me a blubbering mess! It took me from the deepest of despair before pulling me into a place of bittersweet joy laced with the perfect transposition of a happy ever after. I feel as though I’ve been wrung through the wringer and I couldn’t be happier about the trip.
I could totally relate to Mika on so many levels as well as Jude. My heart was broken repeatedly for her experiences followed by even tougher decisions. While I was pretty sure where this book was going to take me, it pleased me that I was still surprised by many of the actions and reactions these characters had. But the biggest impact of this book was the heart of the story. It had so many highs and lows, but when I reached the last part, I was sobbing happy tears.
This author did an amazing job of bringing every character to life. I’m not sure how long it’s been since I felt so connected to not only a hero or heroine, but to the whole cast. I could claim that my own past experiences shed some insight, and maybe that’s true, but there’s no denying Ms. Barker mapped out a story filled with grief, love, joy and heart felt peace.

This is a full length novel that I read as a part of the Then There Was You: A Single Parent Anthology. I haven’t read any others yet, but I intend to do so.

This is a short, fast read but holy heck was it filled with all kinds of goodness! This has everything I adore in romance plus more. This couple was sooo good together. I loved the different sides of Hallie that made Trent fall fast and hard for her. So freaking cute and delicious. The band of brothers around him with all their unique “talents” captivated me, sending my mind reeling and hungry for more.

Eliza was a strong, independent working woman during a time when women of her social status did not work. I enjoyed watching her handle the challenge set before her and her co-owners. She was sharp minded and quick to see positives or negatives in any given situation. Her reactions to Nathaniel entertained me from beginning to end.
Nathaniel was totally swoony! He wasn’t slow to make a move and when he did, holy heck! My Kindle was close to steaming! I couldn’t help but smile when he was so blind to a certain situation regarding someone else’s emotions towards him. Men!
Eliza and Nathaniel were incredible together. I loved the uncertainty of where their relationship was going to go. Obviously, I knew where it ultimately was going to end but getting there was so much fun. With secrets on both sides, they had a good bit to work out, especially on Nathaniel’s part. With a perfect epilogue for them and a bit of build up for the next book, this is definitely my new favorite by this author.
