I wish they had kept the previous title of ‘Claire, Darling’ but that’s my only criticism. I thought this was a super quick, fast-paced read with really believable characters and a plot I truly couldn’t fathom out. I certainly had ideas and thoughts but nothing what was to come was expected.
Claire was a brilliant narrator, I fully liked her and found her interesting while finding Noah a bit icky tbh. I was very much side eyeing him. ...more

Home Is Where The This book was SO good. I didn’t know what to expect going in as I’ve never read a novel by Jeneva Rose before but this was amazing!
Home Is Where The Bodies Are tells the story of three siblings, Beth, Michael and Nicole. They’ve all come together to their parents’ house after their mother passes away to wrap up her estate, but relationships are strained. Beth never amounted to much; Nicole is a drug addict and Michael is the only one who became someone and the sisters resent him for it. When they’re going through old VHS tapes from the 90s they see footage of a girl who went missing and so unravels the mystery!
I found this to be a slow burn novel and for a long time it’s very much a domestic thriller exploring the relationship between the siblings but the added mystery of what happened to their dad, who seemingly left his family, and the missing girl from the 90s was interesting.
This was such a well written thriller, it really came together towards the end and while I’d had an inkling of what had happened, there were still bits I was surprised by (and this isn’t a criticism, I don’t judge a book by its twists or lack of twists etc nor do I particularly try to ‘guess’ the culprit but I like to have ideas and usually be proven wrong…).
Jeneva Rose is a wonderful storyteller, although I must say, I MUST SAY, Port Charlotte is NOT a whisky (note the spelling!) you just randomly give to a sibling and they can down it without any reaction - it’s 50% and severely peated and the siblings downed it with impunity. ...more

I know this is the ‘turtle’ book and a lot of people find it divisive because of the turtles but honestly? They defined Dawn and I didn’t find it overly excessive the way some people clearly do.
This book, at times, pissed me off. Natalie seemed too nice and so I was hardly surprised to read the emails Dawn sent to her friend Mia detailing an entirely different story as she seemed like your typical mean girl.
Obviously with a Freida book all is not as it seems and while I had a few ideas for what I thought was going on, I was still somewhat stunned and shocked because it wasn’t the way I’d figured it. I don’t care for figuring a book out before it ends though so I wasn’t unhappy.
This was fantastic. I raced through it within two days and I loved it. Well done Freida, once again you have captivated and surprised me. ...more

Elsie Silver is a born storyteller. I was so invested in the story, and in the characters, I loved Summer and I loved Rhett and who knew how incredible bull riding is? I loved that it was set in Canada - OH CANADA!!!
I just loved everything about Flawless. It was flawless if that isn’t too on the nose. I am so excited that there’s 4 more books in the Chestnut Springs series and I can’t wait to dive in to more cowboy related tales.

As a Chick Lit lover herself (and editor of the fab novelicious.com), I firmly believe that the best person to write a Chick Lit book is someone who knows the genre inside out. Who can pinpoint what they like and don’t like and somehow make their book into how they want it to be, while also making it brilliant for those who love Chick Lit. Like me. And I loved it.
Yours Truly is a one of those rare books with a plot you haven’t seen before, as Natalie Butterworth finds herself spilling all of her inner-most truths after being accidentally hypnotised one night. Seeing her life fall apart at her truths, she decides the only thing left to do is to track down the man who hypnotised her, the Amazing Brian. Finding out that he lives in Little Trooley in Yorkshire (see what she did, with the name there?), Natalie and her best friend Meg head up there to get her life back on track. Well, they would. If Brian was there. Instead, he’s firmly AWOL and the girls find themselves stuck in Little Trooley for a while, finding themselves getting firmly ensconced in village life while they’re there.
I really loved the novel. From the beautiful cover, to the easy writing style, to the brilliant characters, the book was a hit. The plot was just so unique, so interesting and Natalie’s story was just so, so addictive. I loved Nat, loved her honesty even if it was unintentional. She’s the type of character you adore and root for and hope it all works out fine and dandy in the end. Her best mate, Meg, is the perfect best friend, and I loved it even more that she was a Geordie girl, like myself. The characters we’re introduced to in Little Trooley make you want to move to Little Trooley, I’m not joking. I wanted to go to the pub, and see the beautiful little houses and the frozen waterfall… It all sounded just so perfect and beautiful, like the most desirable village ever.
Kirsty Greenwood could totally be the next big Chick Lit star. It’s really quite silly that a book of the calibre she’s written has not been snapped up by a publisher. I don’t mean that in any sort of negative way to self-publishing (it appears to be the future, or the now, rather), I’m just genuinely surprised no one bought this and published it. I absolutely can’t wait for Kirsty’s next novel. Considering some of the books I have read recently, and some of the very bad books I’ve read over the past few years, this is one of the very best. Kirsty knows the audience she’s appealing to, she knows what she likes in a book, and she’s put all her Chick Lit reading and reviewing into practice perfectly and written one of my favourite books this year. I really, truly loved it.

I saw it on offer for 99p so I had a read of the sample and I couldn’t get it out of my head so I had to read it immediately and wow. WOW. This was a wild ride, let me tell you.
Firstly, I loved the callback to one of Feeney’s other novels, Sometimes I Lie. In I Know Who You Are, Aimee is starring in the film of the same name as she is an actress - obvs. I love authors who build worlds and hark back to them.
Secondly, this story was just ridiculous. I can’t even get it straight in my head because I just couldn’t believe it, I mean I’m being dramatic but like it was like incredibly fantastical and yet also fully believable? If that even makes any sense.
I really liked Aimee - despite everything. It’s easy to feel sorry for someone whose husband disappears into the ether with nary a word and who even knows what’s happened to him? There’s rumours and accusations flying about what Aimee may have done but Aimee is sure she hasn’t…. But who knows!
Then we have the story from the 80s, the tale of a girl who runs away from home and is taken in by Maggie O’Neill and is forced to become Aimee Sinclair. This was such a heart-wrenching story and all I could think was, she’s just a kid.
Overall, I loved this book. It was so good. Feeney is a fantastic writer, she really hooks you into the story very early on and I always looked forward to picking this up. The ending was just nuts, like too insane to be true and yet it made perfect sense and I should have realised. ...more

It tells the story of Gabe and Pippa and Max and Amanda. Gabe and Pippa live by ‘the drop’, a famous place in Australia where people like to … jump, for lack of trigger warning. Gabe is somewhat of a local hero having talked down 6 or 7 (I forget) people but that all comes undone when Amanda died right there at the drop - was she pushed? Did she mean to jump?
It turns out Gabe and Pippa knew Max and Amanda and thus, starts the twists and turns of this novel! I really enjoyed this book, I found it engaging and very well written. I liked the characters and the setting was fantastic. I love books set in Australia, I must say.
I’ve never read a book by Sally Hepworth before, but I will be reading more - I didn’t expect some of the happenings, which I won’t mention, because I hate when people spoil novels in this way even vaguely!
Suffice to say, I loved this. I finished it relatively quickly and I was always keen to get back on with it and find out what was going to happen next! ...more

It is very very rare that I am left almost speechless by a novel - I’ve read too many novels with too many tropes and I’m a jaded old lady! But this novel? I just thought it was going one way and Freida McFadden was like NAH FAM I GOTCHU and it went entirely another.
I am amazed.
Spellbound.
Gobsmacked.
I am not going to discuss the plot at all because let me tell you, going into this novel cold is the best thing I could have done, I had no hopes up, no expectations, no unintentional spoilers, nada.
If you like thrillers though, this is for you. I wouldn’t say Freida McFadden is the best writer ever - but I was addicted to this novel and didn’t really care because the plot and the pacing and the characters were all just *chefs kiss*
I’m a tiny bit scared to read the next one because surely it can’t be as good, but I will find out. This was just bonkers in the best way.
Bravo, Freida, I must now go and read your entire body of work. ...more

Part of Your World was incredibleeeeee. Like oh so swoonworthy and magical. I loved Daniel so much - he was so down to earth and fun and I loved how he brought out the very best in Alexis who was very privileged (and knew it!). It was a very opposites attract kind of story but also they were perfect for each other so there’s that.
I loved the location - Wakan. I am now obsessed with Minnesota and must visit there. Wakan was a delightful little town? Village? Idk. But it was delightful - I dream of living in a small village where everyone looks out for everyone and there’s no village idiots. I wanted to move to Wakan ngl.
This was just such a fun read. I love Abby Jimenez so much and I love love love that she name drops her cake business Nadia Cakes because that is such a flex and I would do this, too. There’s apparently Easter eggs in her novels as well - the Taylor Swift kind not the chocolate kind and I got the vibes that Lola Simone was a bit Taylor-based. Also, Abby not that you’ll ever read this but I’d totes read a novel about Derek and Nikki #justsaying.
This was so good honestly I cannot recommend it enough. It had such swoon worthy moments and fantastic characters - even Hunter the dog and Kevin Bacon the pig, and it just made me smile and I couldn’t put it down.
One of the best rom com novels I’ve ever read, a pure delight. ...more

Unfortunately I didn’t get it that day but I legit couldn’t stop thinking about it so I ordered it from Amazon.
This is my first Abby Jimenez novel and it won’t be my last - the characters were incredibly, the plot was bonkers in the best way, the setting was amazing and I just loved everything about this novel. I truly did.
This is the third book in the ‘part of your world’ series but I believe they’re just loosely based and I don’t think it matters that I’ve started with book three although I have inadvertently spoiled book one but high ho!!! I’m not too fussed and I’m even more excited to read it now.
Emma and Justin are the main characters in this novel and I loved them oh did I love them. Emma is a travelling nurse, who never settles anywhere for any longer than a few weeks/months, whose only companion is her foster sister Maddy. She has an unlucky streak where everyone she dates goes on to meet their soulmate after her. Justin has the exact same issue leading to a hilarious Reddit thread and they have the perfect idea - they’re gonna date each other, break up and find their soulmates. Perfect right? ...more

‘It’s always worth it to love someone. Even at the risk of losing them’ is quoted on the back of the book and it sums this book up perfectly. Stewie has suffered more loss in his young, eleven-year-old life than most people ever will and when he finds himself with leftover eggs, he ventures to the next house in the street where he sells his eggs and he meets Marilyn. The two soon form a relationship that could crack at any time as Marilyn has secrets she doesn’t want anyone to find out.
Dreaming of Flight was such a gorgeous, beautiful read. Catherine’s novels are always so full of heart and warmth and I absolutely adored Stewie - and Marilyn, actually, she was spiky but she had a good heart too, deep down. I flew through this book in such quick time, as I was so absorbed with Stewie’s story and I just loved how he saw the world, he clearly felt everything deeply but he also had more wisdom in his little finger than I do in my whole body.
I adored this book, these characters and I was very sad when I finished this book - I’m just going to have to read another of Catherine’s books soon because they are truly wonderful reads....more

Because one girl alone cannot inherit things without there being a bad guy in the equation! I dare say, actually, that it was better than Ready Player One. I enjoyed it a lot more, probably because there wasn't umpty-billion 80s references shooed in every other sentence.
Honestly, though I loved Zoey. She was super-chill about the fact she was likely to die at any moment, right from the very second she landed in Tabula Ra$a (and even before, tbh).
