The once stunning estate has been left to ruin after the owners mysteriously disappeared ten years prior. What is more baffling is that the coffin holds bones from multiple victims. Have the team discovered the bodies of the owners or is something more sinister afoot?
It certainly isn’t an easy case and it takes it’s toll on the team. There is a lot of investigating to do with speaking to potential witnesses whilst awaiting results from Pat. You can feel the teams frustration at not knowing who the bones belong to and it seems to have even got Pat more riled than normal. Tensions are high which causes some friction.
Garden of Bones was a gripping mystery which will have you second guessing everything. I really enjoy the working, as well as out of work, bond that Sally and Lorne have. They make a formidable team and it was also good to see their new boss getting his hands dirty! All in all it makes for a thrilling ride with the story taking unexpected turns as well as being quite emotional in places. An engrossing page-turner!

She is forced to confront the past and rightly so, she wants justice for the death of her husband and colleagues and to get some much needed answers. Whilst we have always known how Mark lost his life, it was absolutely riveting to get an insight in to what actually happened that fateful evening.
It’s hard to know what to say without giving too much away about the storyline itself. What I will say is that things don’t turn out to plan after Erika’s discovery and it seems to open up a rabbit hole of doubt, secrets and lies. Erika finds herself in a terrible predicament that could not only see her career in trouble but also putting her life at risk. There are plenty of nail-biting moments that’s for sure!
Chasing Shadows digs deep into the past with some shocking revelations. I didn’t know who to trust by the end. I was as desperate as Erika for the truth to come out and for justice to be finally served. With each page turned, the story got more harrowing and had me gripped to the edge of my seat. One twist literally knocked me sideways and my emotions went into overdrive. One of the tensest and most heart-stopping reads that will leave you with your jaw dropped firmly on the floor. It was great to be back with the members of the fat club again. This isn’t any diet group though, it’s a group of friends who meet up once a week to chat, support and have fun. Each member has their own quirks and they are all different in personality which makes it a winning combination. The story centres around Marie and her partner Brian. Marie is feeling the pressure from everyone to set a date for their wedding but for some unknown reason, she seems to be dragging her heels.
There are plenty of laugh out loud moments of which the Christmas dinner was hilarious. I don’t think I will ever be able to look at a chocolate cheesecake with out smiling after reading this book. It’s the friendships that are the winning ingredients though and a reminder of what Christmas is really about.
Christmas With Friends was a fun filled novella that I read in one evening. It is packed full of humour and heart-warming moments and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face whilst feeling all cosy inside. Readers will adore the wonderful characters and you can’t but help feeling a bit festive and have you looking forward to one of the biggest days of the year. Wonderfully uplifting!...more

Sadly though, there is nothing nice about the crimes committed through out the story. What starts off with what looks like a random burglary, takes an extremely sinister turn which leaves the community shocked and scared.
Being an avid reader of crime thrillers, the author’s take on replicating murders from a best selling novel was genius. I wasn’t sure if this was a good thing or bad as of course it takes a while for the team to realise what is going on and then it becomes a race against time to put a stop to anymore killings. It certainly had me gripped to the pages to see what was going to happen next.
To Hurt Them was a fast paced read that truly grabs you by the collar, taking you on a roller coaster of a ride. The adrenaline was coursing through me reading of the murders taking place as well as the pressure on the team to solve the case. There are plenty of jaw dropping moments, some making me gasp out loud. A series that just gets better and better!

Kit is under a shadow at work after being suspended for six months, on returning she is given a job she would rather not take but has no other option Kit is under a shadow at work after being suspended for six months, on returning she is given a job she would rather not take but has no other option but to take it. There have been lots of rumours over the years and speculation as to what really happened surrounding the death of three of the Hope family. I have to say it certainly had me intrigued. The setting of the big house right on the cliff edge really helped set the scene as well as adding tension to the story.
I had no clue what to expect when Kit starts her new job. I was eager to find out the truth about that night and not in my wildest dreams could I ever have imagined what actually did. Everyone seems to be hiding something and you don’t know who to trust. The sense of danger is there with every page turned and whilst I was eager for the truth, I was also worried for Kit’s personal safety as she gets closer to it. All I can say is nothing is as it seems.
The Only One Left was a real mess with your head read. There was one part that I had to go back and reread as there was no way I thought I had read it right and thought it might have been a misprint. It wasn’t and the twist totally blew my mind. In fact when the twists hit, they just don’t stop. I just loved everything about it, the pacing, the plot and not forgetting those twists! A truly eerie, nail-biting read that is guaranteed to give you goosebumps!

It does cover everything that readers need to know so it is easy enough to read as a stand alone but would recommend reading them all as they are all brilliant.
Kat and the team have a new murder case to solve which for poor Kat, seems to be stirring memories of the famous Aston Strangler which is something she would rather forget. Someone seems to have it in for her and is hell bent on proving that she got it all wrong. I really felt for Kat as not only is she trying to solve a new case, her old case seems to be getting more traction on social media having members of the public as well as journalists, questioning her ability.
Not only do I love the team as they are great characters but Lock is the icing on it all. I’m sure I am not the only reader who has more than grown fond of him and whilst he may not be real in the true sense of things, it is obvious that he thinks way more than everyone gives it credit for. There are parts that are quite humorous with Lock trying it’s best to be more like humans and fit in with what is going on around it. It also has no filter at times and can come out with things that most humans would know to keep to themselves. It’s parts like this that really elevate what is already a great story.
Human Remains was a truly gripping read with an ending that literally blew my mind! I feel like I need counselling as I have no idea what to feel anymore. It’s going to leave readers wanting everyone else to hurry up and read it so they can discuss and digest. I need the next book like now! My emotions were running high and it is going to be so interesting to see how things play out in book four. Another stellar novel in this already incredible series, bravo Jo Callaghan!

The prices are an absolute bargain to boot so everyone is a winner. Such an ingenious idea. What was even better is we get to meet lots of new characters in the different villages which really made this story.
The story mainly focuses on Katja who is going through a rough time with her love life. Whilst it is getting her down, I loved her positivity to keep on going. Driving the cake van gives her some what of an escape and the people she meets certainly make a big impression on her. Mo was such a great character who made me cringe and laugh in equal measure. Ivan was another one who was hilarious and brought even more humour to the story.
The Pop-Up Cake Shop was an easy read that will have your mouth watering as well as guaranteed to lift your mood. There is so much to love about the story as well as the characters. Rosie Green never fails to put a smile on my face with the books in this series as they literally melt your heart and lighten your soul. A gorgeous, feel good novel!

Both women are at a time in their lives when they are looking for more and wanting to get out of the rut they have been living in. When an all expenses trip to celebrate the life of one of their good friends comes around, well of course they can’t say no!
The one thing I love about this author’s books is that there is hope for us all. She shows us that age is just a number and in no way defines us. If anything, with age, retirement age especially, does come with some advantages. The setting of the story was yet another winner and I lapped it all up. Paulo’s family were certainly an interesting bunch that provided some fun and laughter. In fact there were more than a few laugh out loud moments at poor Jo’s expense.
The Dolce Vita Divas had me smiling throughout. It has a wonderful mix of humour as well as heartwarming moments. It’s a reminder that whilst family will always be important, we shouldn’t lose ourselves along the way. Hugely entertaining and wonderfully uplifting, I quickly devoured this utterly gorgeous read!...more
