Dragos Takes a Holiday is another novella from the Elder Races series. I was excited to read this one because it's about Dragos, one of my favorite characters (because he's a dragon!), Pia and Liam, their son. They decide to take a mini vacation, to relax, enjoy some family time and also some romance time, and also Dragos can hunt an ancient treasure rumored to still be buried...
I loved this novella, it was absolutely cute! We get to know more about Dragos and Pia's life now that they are parents, and Liam (a.k.a. Peanut) is such a cute little dragon! He's little but already some of his Wys abilities are manifesting, and he's going to be a little naughty boy in this trip. I loved to read the parts when he was thinking (still can't talk), I wasn't expecting that!
It has some romance, not as much as the other books from the series, I wanted more romance! Also it has some action, not everyone wants Dragos to find the treasure, although it was pretty easy for him, but they are going to make Dragos very angry.
Dragos Takes a Holiday is a must read for fans of Dragos, Pia and Liam! I totally recommend it, Liam is growing up to be a very interesting Wyr....more

It's not a secret that I love dragons, that's why Immortal Coil grabbed my attention. But I was also interested because it sounded different. Dragons souls sharing human bodies?
It didn't disappointed me. I was looking to read something original and Immortal Coil was good. Anaea is at the lowest point of her life and her only wish is that this stranger stop talking to her. But her life turns upside down when he, Hunter, is 'killed' and they are forced to share her body!
Hunter is an alpha male. He is a dragon soul, and he needs a human body to survive. Anaea isn't the body he would want, but it turns very difficult to leave her behind. So he needs to find a new body, and fast, because they are being hunted and can't keep running.
Immortal Coil was fast, with lots of action, twists and turns, and of course, some sexy romance. The story about why the dragons need human bodies is interesting, nothing I have ever read, and I wanted more. The ending felt a little bit abrupt, it obviously leaves many issues to resolve in other books, maybe? Anaea and Hunter are made for each other, but the only issue I had with the story was the body Hunter got in the end. It was kind disturbing.
Overall, Immortal Coil was a nice surprise. Definitely worth reading, specially if you're looking for an original story. Besides, who can say no to dragons? :P...more

The Elder Races series has become one of my favorites, and Lord's Fall didn't disappointed me. I will admit I was a little bit scared about the title, but I was glad about the direction of the story and I think it was a great idea to write about Dragos and Pia again!
They have become my favorite couple of the series. Even when I didn't love their first book, I can't resist a sexy and powerful dragon, and Pia is really an interesting Wyr. I can't give spoilers, but I'm sure fans of this series will be happy to read Lord's Fall. There are several characters back, and a new very powerful enemy which was defeated quicker than I thought. But I was happy to meet new characters, maybe they will have their own stories soon?
Overall, you can't miss Lord's Fall. And if you like paranormal romance, you should definitely start this series with the first book, Dragon Bound....more
I don't know why it took me so much time to finally pick this book from my TBR shelf, but I loved it! It's a really an original Posted at Oh My Books!
I don't know why it took me so much time to finally pick this book from my TBR shelf, but I loved it! It's a really an original story. Anna is a new soul, and in a world where everyone has lived several lives, it's not a good thing. People is scared of her, she is a no soul for them. It doesn't help that when she was born, another soul vanished.
She decides to leave her mean mother and founds Sam, who is not only curious about her but he thinks she is a new soul who needs protection. Sam was so sweet, I loved him. He surprised me, he is so old but at the same time still young and vulnerable.
I also liked Ana. It was so different to read her young and unknowing but also brave and ready to live her life, it's probably her only one...no one knows. Ana and Sam fell in love and I really liked how their relationship evolved. It was at their own time....their soul ages are so different but they are definitely connected.
But not only I enjoyed the characters, but the story behind. The souls, their pasts, their way of living, the dragons! Yes, dragons! It was really different from any other book I've read, and I think you will love it...or hate it. You really have to read it with an open mind.
Overall, I really recommend Incarnate if you want to read something totally different. It still has enough romance to satisfy romance addicts, but it's also about the importance of life, and about how love should be about souls connecting, no matter sex or age....more
I discovered this book and really wanted to read it, since I love dragons. Also, this is my first book by Katie MacAlister and I've heard great things about her books.
Tully Sullivan is a normal woman, she's married and has a nine years old son, but she sometimes goes into a fugue, sleeps for weeks and her mind travels back to Ysolde, a seventeen years old girl. It's because of this fugue that she finds herself at a dragon's house. They kept telling her she is one of them, but she doesn't believe it. Except, what about Ysolde? Was that really her?
I wouldn't have known Ysolde and Tully where the same person. They were completely different. Tully is kind of dumb, let her husband call her stupid bitch and accept that he treats her badly . Instead, Ysolde is brave and more interesting.
Baltic, Ysolde / Tully romantic interest is sexy and strong, but I don't know why I didn't totally liked him. He was kind of funny sometimes, and I also prefer the past Baltic from the present.
Sometimes, the mind time travel and dream sequences appeared suddenly and were confusing, but after reading for a while I got to understand what was going on. Still, I felt as if this book wasn't the first of a series. I don't know if this book is related to another series from the author, but I understand it's the first one of the Light Dragons series.
But, I got to say that the plot was so revolt that it was kind of funny. Dragons, demons, magic and more, this book has it all. Also, I was laughing a couple of times, but sometimes thought the humor wasn't appropriated for me. For example, Tully's son, Brom, kept talking about his mother's boobs and I wasn't comfortable with that.
Overall, Love in the Time of Dragons is the kind of book I can't say I liked it but also didn't hated it. I think it has a good plot, and maybe the next book would offer more explanations about the dragons....more

Dragon Bound is the story of Pia, a half human woman who has lived all her life avoiding other wyr and never letting anyone know who she really is. But she made a mistake and is blackmailed into stealing something from the hoard of a dragon, specifically the most feared dragon, Dragos Cuelebre.
The story starts with Pia, who has succeeded in stealing from Dragos and is running for her life. It's not too long until Dragos realizes he has been robbed, and starts searching for his thief. But he wasn't expecting a delicate and strange half-wyr woman.
Pia was fun. I liked that she was in trouble but always tried to save her life. Even when she knew it was impossible to run from Dragos. She's brave and very independent, and she has a secret that nobody has to know.
Dragos was the typical alpha male. I liked him only because he was a dragon, and the strongest, oldest and most feared wyr. Also, he's a millionaire. What's not to like about him? Of course he has a sweet side, one that not even him knew he had, and when he met Pia, he knows he doesn't want to kill her but explore her.
I liked the story. It's full of different characters, and all of them with a distinctive personality. It has a lot of unexpected turns and I wasn't sure what was going to happen to Pia and Dragos. But it was obvious they were attracted to each other, and the romance between them was hot!
But there were moments I couldn't help feeling the characters were a little bit ridiculous. For example, I felt like Dragos, who was feared by everyone, changed too much his personality. I always expect changes in the characters when they fall in love, but I thought like he was a different person.
Overall, I think the Elder Races is going to be a series I'll enjoy. Although this book wasn't a favorite to me, I enjoy it and I can't wait to read Storm's Heart....more
A Tale of Two Castles is the classic fairy tale full of fantasy and adventure.
Elodie is a twelve years old girl who is brave and intelligent. She's going to become a mansioner (an actress) at the town of Two Castles, but when she can't do tt, she has to accept a job being the assistant of a dragon.
I liked Elodie. It's obvious she's young and inexpert, acting as she was older, but I liked her attitude. She was strong, always taking the best of every situation and with a good heart. I loved to read her thoughts, she reminded me of my younger self.
Menore, her master, is a dragon. I loved Menore, maybe because I just love dragons, or maybe because IT was amazing. He is funny and is always teaching Elodie about common sense and using her mind. But I also liked the other characters, specially their friend the Ogre, ugly but with a golden heart.
Being a dragon's assistant isn't easy, and one of her missions is to work and the Ogre castle and discover who wants to murder him with the help of the cats (remember the story of Puss 'N Boots?). It's a mystery that Elodie has to solve with Menore, before it's too late.
Mystery and adventure, A Tale of Two Castles is a story about learning not to judge people based on appearences and growing up. Sometimes the story was slow, but the mystery wasn't so easy to solve so it kept me reading.
Overall, I loved it! It's the first book I read from this author, but not the last one. It was cute and interesting, and if you like intelligent heroines and fantasy, you will love this book. I hope there is a sequel, I'd love to read about Elodie and her friends next adventure....more

I loved Firelight, so it wasn't really a surprise for me to read Vanish in only a couple of hours!
Vanish follows Firelight from the exact point where Jacinda, Cassian, Tamra and their mother are in the car, escaping from hunters. It's almost impossible, but Tamra gives everybody a surprise and saves them.
It's obvious Jacinda isn't welcome in the pride, and her mother either. But Tamra is more welcome now, and everyone wants her.
Vanish is full of action. I thought it was going to be a dramatic book, thinking that Jacinda was going to probably be crying all the time. She cries, but she's such a strong character. That's why I like her so much.
In this book Cassian has the opportunity to shine. In Firelight he was always under the shadow of doubt, but he's actually very sweet, mature, and I can see he is one of those characters who always get hurt in love triangles.
Will is also in the story, but I, as Jacinda, kind of feel in between Cassian and Will. Obviously Jacinda loves Will, but Cassian is also very sweet to her...so yes, love triangle.
I was glad Tamra had her moment to shine, but still as with the first book, I'm not a fan of her or Jacinda's mother.
Overall, Vanish is the perfect continuation for Firelight. I got the feeling Firelight is actually one book split in three parts. Of course, the ending is another cliffhanger, even worse than the one at the first book....so I can't wait to read the next book!...more
You probably know I love dragons, so when I discovered this book I thought it was perfect for me.
It's the first time I read a book from this author, and I understand she has already written books about the previous generation of these characters. But you don't need to read the previous series to read this one.
Flying Blind is about Zoe, the only female shape shifter dragon. She has a responsibility greater that everyone else. She's supposed to have special powers that will help the Pyr, but she can't even shift into a dragon!
Zoe is young and very immature. She feels like a failure because her powers are missing, but when she accidentally shifts in front of another girl while fighting, instead of being punished by her parents, she's sent to boot camp. It's the best thing it could happen to her, because not only she'll see Nick, the boy she's crazy for, but also her friends.
The plot of Flying Blind was interesting. Zoe is positive her powers are going to appear as soon as she starts boot camp, and she's pretty sure Nick will fall in love with her. Obviously things doesn't happen that way, and when she and her friends are trapped in the woods and starts to fight, she's the only one who have the powers to help them.
I was interested in the shape shifting and the powers of the dragons, but I didn't enjoy too much the characters. As I said before, Zoe was very immature and I didn't liked how her "friends" treated her. She had too much pressure of herself, and they always asked her to do things she couldn't do. Also, they are supposed to know each other since babies, but when a mage comes and puts a spell on them, they not only hated her and tried to hurt her, but actually were very mean to her.
Sometimes it was a unrealistic, as for example when Zoe instantly developed her powers. Or when the hot, older and good-mage guy finds her interesting, specially after she's described to be as a 12 years old girl. I think in the next books, when Zoe is older and more sure of herself, this little details will work better.
But I have to admit that what I liked more was the turns in the plot. When I thought everything was going to be simple, the author actually managed to change something and made the story better.
Overall, Flying Blind it an interesting debut from this author into Young Adult books. It has fantasy, romance, action and awesome dragons. Although it wasn't for me, I think some of you might enjoy it....more
I totally love dragons, so when I heard about Firelight I easely decided to read it. It actually took me some time with my always-growing TBR pile, but I was happy I finally decided to read it.
Jacinda is a draki, a descesdant of dragons, and a very special one. She loves to be a draki, but her mother isn't so happy about it, and her sister either. One night she's forced to leave her home, her best friend, and Cassian, to move away to the dessert, where her drake is sure to die.
It has been a while since I loved a character so much. She was very strong and never accepted to let her drake die, as her mother and sister wanted to. She refuses to forget who she is and where she has come from. And she isn't dramatic! With the drastic change of life, she decided to fight for herself instead of crying or surrender.
I wanted her to escape her mother and her sister, who were very cruel to her and never thought about her feelings about then I remember she was also young, and at that age it's difficult to choose. But she's intelligent, and she isn't blind about her family. She loves them, but also knows they are being cruel to her.
About Cassian...he's another draki, and destined to become her mate. He's very strong, and is very attracted to her, so at first I wasn't sure why she wasn't so sure about him. But every time I read him I couldn't stop thinking, does he really likes her or her special power?
Of course, Cassian is not the only boy for Jacinda. There is also Will. She should really stay away from him, because he's way more dangerous than Cassian. She tries, but Will also wants her. He was a great character as well. He's dangerous, has a lot of secrets, but has a sweet and open heart (one of his many differences with his family).
Sophie Jordan's writing was perfect for me. Since the beginning I could understand Jacinda, and she transported me into the world she created, where draki exists and are always in danger from the humans hunters. She created real characters, selfish, in love, dangerous, liars; that made this book much more interesting than just a dragon's book.
Overall, Firelight has become one of my favorite reads. Original and with a cliffhanger ending, I really can't wait to read the next book, Vanish....more

...more
