I like having more background/expanded info in the novel, but I like seeing the story visually. I feel like after seeing the graphic novel it would make a fun horror movie.
I was really excited to see how the illustrator would depict the "Seeker" and was not disappointed.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an advanced copy to review. ...more

Here we follow Sibling Dex and Mosscap as they travel Panga to meet with other groups so Mosscap can ask what they need. Mosscap learns about currency in this world, doing things for others; we have a harrowing moment involving Mosscap (where I was about to boycott the book!), and an ending of sorts.
I think overall I missed the connection Mosscap and Dex had in the first book; there was a deep companionship that I felt was missing, but I also understand why it was missing.
All in all, it was a lovely duology, one that I will have to re-read next fall when I need a warm and fuzzy book series!...more

That ending was way too quick and brief and dammit I need more! Also after reading this, wow. I never thought of what content moderators had to watch/see while doing their job. I know for a time I was an OK Cupid volunteer moderator and that could get intense at times, so I can imagine what mods at places like Facebook see on a daily.
Anyway, enjoyed the book and it definitely leaves a lot for your imagination.

When Emmy came home to Thistle Grove she was not looking forward to seeing her ex again; and she was not expecting to fall in love. But both happened.
I enjoyed the story, the concept, everything except there was not enough about Emmy's dog! It was a cute story and I am looking forward to the next one following a different set of Thistle Grove witches.
(view spoiler)[ And thank the lord Emmy did not end up with Gareth again because I would have been pissed. She didn't even harbor any feelings except dislike so yay! (hide spoiler)]...more

But in wanting to clear out NetGalley, I read it, and only slightly liked it better. I did not like the princess, the main character, or any character aside from the Maleficent character.
What I did like was the twist to the curse in the Fairy Tale world, that was interesting.
Also, as a personal irk because Sleeping Beauty has always been my favorite of the Disney princess movies-it isn't because of Aurora/SB, it is 100% for Maleficent, and I hate that the author/main character disparages it because Aurora is asleep through the story and barely speaks...because she isn't meant to! Ugh, now I want to write a dissertation on Sleeping Beauty! ...more
