That Day, is a book for small kids who may be dealing with loss and grief. A little boy is in a room with lots of people he doesn’t know and everyone seems to be in black and white. Told from the kid’s perspective, he’s wondering where his grandma is. He sees his grandpa just sitting in a chair looking lost. He decides to take a walk and clear his mind. As he walks outside, he begins to remember things he loved about his grandma and feels her presence all around in nature.
This was a short a simple book with very few words and bright illustrations. I think this would definitely be a good book for a child dealing with this type of loss. It helps them understand their emotions and to remember to focus on the memories of the person they may have lost.

The Letter by Irene Verdu is a children’s book full of beautiful illustrations. The main theme of the book is how random acts of kindness can change a persons heart. By being kind to others, it can sometimes break the walls they have built around themselves and allows them to let others in. Very cute and heartwarming. Would recommend. ...more

Imperfectly Perfect by Perry Emerson was a delightful little book full of colorful illustrations. It has a positive message about how things don’t always have to be perfect, how broken things can be put back together and sometimes come out even better. Would be a great read for littles! “But there are consequences when we don’t do what’s right,” Mom continued. Because you’re my favorite, I will help you learn lessons when you make a mistake. You won’t always get your way, and you won’t always get what you want. But even when things get hard, you’re still my favorite”
You’re Still My Favorite was such a sweet book! It reminded me a little of I’ll love you forever. It’s a story about a mom and her little squirrels. To teach them, she wants them to know no matter what they do- she will always love them and they will always be her favorites. The illustrations were beautiful and well done. This book just made me smile, and I think it’s a perfect book to read to littles, to reinforce that they will make mistakes- but mom will always be there to help and love them through it. ...more

No Bunny Like You is a sweet book about a little bunny who loves to spend time playing with his mom. He has other siblings, so he’s always trying to get mommy on his own for some quality time. One day, Dad wants to take mommy on a date and little bunny doesn’t want her to go. He’s sad until he gets an idea, he tells dad he wants to plan a date for just him and mommy.
The idea of this book was great. Sometimes, with multiple children- it’s hard to balance out that alone time. So moral of the story- it’s important for moms, every now and then, to set aside a special time to be with each child one on one. It helps them feel loved and appreciated. I thought it was neat that not only is it a message to the child, but also the parent. ...more

This was just lovely. Geared towards younger readers, this version of Anne of Green Gables was so delightful. I read this to my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She enjoyed reading along with me, and looking at the stunning illustrations. The pictures were like little pieces of art, and the colors matched perfectly for this setting. The story stays close to the original themes and writing- only condensed for younger audiences. I would definitely recommend this version for younger readers to add to their library. It will be sure to start their love for all things Ann with an E. ...more

A Little More Like Jesus by Zach Willams was beautifully illustrated and a fun book to read to littles. I am pretty sure its just one of his songs that they made into book form. The song I am thinking of is Less Like me. The lyrics are a little different but it tells a sweet story of one wanting to be and how to be- hence the title- a little more like Jesus. Would recommend to people with younger children. ...more
