Whilst I enjoyed the first book in this series I absolutely LOVED this one. Personally I just clicked with the characters and storyline a lot more. Winnie is so endearing with her innocence and naivety whilst Kallum is difficult not to like. Most of all I loved their authenticity. Together they’re perfection. The romance and steam are chef’s kiss.
Although there’s plenty of fun and light hearted ness throughout, I appreciated that there’s still some more thought provoking themes scattered within such as the damaging nature of purity culture.

We are taken into the life of Libby, a young and successful corporate who finds herself snowed in at a reunion with friends. She is forced to come face to face with feelings that have been pushed under the rug for years.
There are so many interesting characters and dynamics in this one. They are all colourful in their own right and I loved watching it all play out. As you can imagine there’s also plenty of tension which is always interesting to follow as a reader.
This was a wonderful concept and showed yet again how skilled Karen Swan is at writing Christmas romances that are warm and uplifting yet not shallow. They have a depth to them that other Christmas romances lack.

Marietta is a ballet dancer who’s life is completely revolved around her love for ballet. She dreams of life on the stage but her parents have other plans. They wish to see her married and settled down. Marietta’s life is completely turned upside down when she meets the strange yet fascinating Dr Drosselmeier and is swept up into Everwood where she embarks on a journey.
This was such a beautiful retelling. The world building and atmosphere was the absolute highlight for me and was perfect for the holiday season. I felt like I was there alongside Marietta as she journeyed through Everwood. She was impossible for me not to love with her headstrong nature and love for ballet. A charming tale that will have readers captivated from beginning to end. ...more

This sweet story centres around Sophie Appersett, the daughter of a and was born into wealth, who is courted by the serious Edward Sharpe, a man who comes into wealth. Sophie calls off their courting as she feels they are not well suited, only to realise that Mr Sharpe is much more than who he seems.
It’s such a simple story but is told so well and has so many Wintery, atmospheric and cosy vibes. Everything about this story is so magical. The white Christmas, the gathering of greenery for the decorations, the cracklings fires, the leather scented library, the English food and landscapes, the Victorian era setting and the description of the natural landscapes... I could go on an on. I cannot gush about this enough! Such a perfect read to get me in the Christmas spirit. ...more

It’s a book to be savored, not rushed and is perfect to pace out in the lead up to Christmas. It is wordy but worth pursuing as the stories are so beautiful. My personal favorite (like many people I’m sure) was a Christmas Carol. I adored the atmosphere and the lessons that are explored. I would definitely consider re-reading this book, it’s absolute timeless perfection. ...more

The Visitor begins on Christmas Day when a huge snow storm causes roads to be closed, and strangers to be stuck together in a diner. We learn a bit about each character’s back story and then things get crazy pretty quickly when a visitor comes to the diner and is intent on spilling blood.
I loved the setting of the snow storm and diner. It added to the winter atmosphere and created such an eerie, isolated sense of dread. One thing I also appreciate about Sergio’s writing is the time he takes to develop characters, even when the story is as short as this one. For only around 80 pages this one packs a punch! The pacing felt perfect and I read it in the one sitting.
If you’re after a quick Christmas horror read to get you in the holiday spirit. Lovers of slashers will lap this one up. It would also be perfect to curl up with on a cold December night.
Thank you so much to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. ...more
I absolutely loved this wild ride of a book where the Yule god Krampus and Santa battled it out to see who comes out on top.
As a pagan and practicing I absolutely loved this wild ride of a book where the Yule god Krampus and Santa battled it out to see who comes out on top.
As a pagan and practicing witch I appreciated all the pagan and Norse mythology references throughout and it was evident the author did his research.
The book is filled with dark humour and adult references so it is definitely not a light read but there’s also lots of atmospheric winter vibes to get you in the Christmas spirit if you live in the Northern hemisphere.
I loved the characters in this, especially Krampus’s sidekicks and the Santa changes which made the story more fun and gave it some great twists.
I can’t wait to read more from Brom and I loved the gorgeous illustrations throughout which really added to the overall fantasy and magical tone of the entire book. ...more
