Though I did not cry, probably because the title prepares the reader of what is to come. This is the kind of book where you will reflect on life with. (view spoiler)[First of all, Death Cast is basically destiny-like. Some people die because DC calls them. For example, the Last Friend serial killer, and of course Mateo and Rufus. This leads to the second question: is it better not to have met at all, or to have met, lived your last day to fullest and die because you have met. This is a lot of brain food for me and probably also for other readers (hide spoiler)]
The parts where we briefly followed the point of views of different characters in the story, really reminded me of The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I really liked it there, and I really liked it here.
Even though it was sad, it was a great read. It takes a great kind of writing to let you feel things through books and Adam Silvera managed to do it with this book. I am definitely planning on picking up his other work after having read The Both Die at the End.

In See You Yesterday, Barrett Bloom gets stuck in a time loop. Suddenly every day is September 21st. Oh and the annoying guy from Physics 101 is apparently also stuck.
Together they try to physics themselves out of the time loop. But they also make most of the time loop.
I really enjoyed it and really recommend it if you also like time loops....more

They expect her to study business at college and work in the family business afterwards. Her family is in business with Tarek's. His family owns a catering company. Tarek is a hopeless romantic and fan of grant gestures (love it when men love romance). Quinn has lost her trust in love and prefers hookups. At the end of last summer, Quinn confessed her crush on him in the form of a rambling email—and then he left for college without a response. Quinn has been dreading seeing him again almost as much as she dreads another summer playing the harp for her parents’ weddings.
The book is told from Quinn's point of view and I enjoyed her journey towards trust and independence.
I would recommend it, especially to those who loved Emma Lord's Tweet Cute....more

Cleric Chic wanders into the riverlands to record tales of the notorious near-immortal martial artists who haunt the region. On the road to Betony Docks, they fall in with a pair of young women far from home, and an older couple who are more than they seem. As Chih runs headlong into an ancient feud, they find themselves far more entangled in the history of the riverlands than they ever expected to be.
I have enjoyed this book in the Singing Hills Cycle the best so far. The companions Chic meets in this book are very interesting as well as the notorious martial artists. I listened to the first two as audiobook but I think I should read the fourth the fifth books because I feel like the audiobook goes too quickly to fully enjoy this series since they are so short....more

Unfortunately, I was not sucked into this book as much as the first one. I enjoyed The Atlas Six enough to be interested in the second one. I also thought this was the last one so that expectation might also have influenced my feelings towards this sequel. Because I was expecting an ending of a series and not of a second installment in a trilogy. So, unfortunately I only thought this was an okay book....more

Dr Joe Schwarcz focuses on the deluge of anecdotes, cherry-picked data, pseudoscientific nonsense, and seductive baseless health claims that undermine efforts to educate the public about evidence-based science. The wide scope of the topics drawn from past and present aims to cast a life preserver to people drowning in a sea of misinformation.
Quack Quack is a very interesting read. It is an anthology debunking pseudoscientific health claims that can lead to serious harm. I can recommend this book to anyone who loves a scientific-based approach....more

Jennette McCuI'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy is, as you probably know, McCurdy's memoir about her relationship with her narcissistic mother. Jennette McCurdy is best known for her role as Sam in iCarly. I grew up watching her. I could never have imagined her life as a child star.
McCurdy goes through her life as a child actor. She was six years old when she started. But Jennette never wanted to be an actress. It was her mother's dream, not hers. Moreover, the creator of the show iCarly was also abusive. Please buy this book so Jennette McCurdy can get more money than the $300.000 of hush money Nickelodeon offered her. She deserves it.
McCurdy herself narrates the audiobook. She tells it in such a captivating way. (view spoiler)[The moment her voice broke, I had tears in my eyes. (hide spoiler)] So if you have the option, I highly recommend the audiobook! If not, still read this book.

The book kinda feels like a love letter to online friendships, fandom and boy bands. Moreover, there is no romance which is refreshing in Young Adult books. Big The Ark fan Angel finally meets her online friend Juliet as they wait for The Ark's concert later that week. But things aren't what they seem especially when Angel meets her idol Jimmy, a member of the band.
