People who don't read generally ask me my reasons for reading. Simply put I just love reading and so to that end I have made it my motto to just Keep on Reading. I love to read everything except for Self Help books but even those once in a while. I read almost all the genre but YA, Fantasy, Biographies are the most. My favorite series is, of course, Harry Potter but then there are many more books that I just adore. I have bookcases filled with books which are waiting to be read so can't stay and spend more time in this review, so remember I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading....more

Now famously Vikram Chandra took 7 years to write this book and funnily enough it took me almost 7 years to read it after buying it. I bought it in Dec-2006 and started reading this year. Now onto the book well this is a vast book, with two main story-lines and then different story-lines throughout the story lines. This book tells us the story of one Sartaj Singh a Police Inspector and One Ganesh Gaitonde a Gangster. The Story goes like Sartaj looks into the life of Ganesh the Gangster and the Gangster tells his own story. The story moves from current time i.e. 2006 to all the way back to the time before Indian independence and then spy agencies in India and Pakistan. Yes it did take me a long time to finish this book and sometimes I left the book alone for a long period of time but it is true that its a 5 star book meticulously researched and written and beware it is full of Hindi Expletives, after all that's the way our Police and Gangsters talk :). I would suggest this book to everyone who would like to read a crime saga set in and around Mumbai and a truly big Indian Novel. This one is a winner and now I am sad that I waited for so long to start reading this book.

The last time I re-read the series that was for the release of the short stories collection, this re-read is for the release of3rd Read or 2nd Re-read
The last time I re-read the series that was for the release of the short stories collection, this re-read is for the release of Murtagh and the 20th Anniversary edition. This re-read also added 1 star to the book ratings to take it to the 5 stars finally. This was an important book where a lot of important events happen or many promises are fulfilled. Both by Eragon and Saphira both. I enjoyed another foray into the world. I really like the series and hope to enjoy the series in the years to come.
2nd Read
I am re-reading the series after about 8-9 years now, in fact, I had last read the entire series before I had even joined the Goodreads. So coming back to the book this is the 3rd part of the Inheritance cycle so following the events of Eldest, Eragon is just reeling from the revelations and also has to help Roran and has to fulfill tons of promises.
This was a nice read and I finished this book in 4-5 sittings and in each reading session finished more than 100 pages so Yay!! This was the first fantasy series I read and after reading a lot of though not many more fantasy series I wanted to check if these would work for a more mature reader who read so many books since reading these to tell you the truth I had forgotten most of the details so it was fun rereading the series and remembering details here and there.
I immediately picked up Inheritance which is the fourth book in the series and final till Book 5 comes out. And obviously, once I am done with the series I would then read the new short stories collection released

First Read
The third part and best looking of all the four books. I originally got the paperback version of the 3rd and 4th books but much later I bought the hardcover version for them.

I read a lot and thus forget the details on the books soon enough so even though it was my 3rd read of the series it was almost like reading it for the first time once again. I loved this read as well and I love this series and immediately started reading the short stories collection which caused me to re-read the series last time. so then another re-read done and now wait begins for the new books.
2nd Read Wow, I never thought I would say this I had read this series originally way back maybe 9 years back and I thought that I remembered the story but I didn't remember a thing, especially from the later two books in the 4 book series. I have also updated my rating to 5-star because I immensely enjoyed my reread of the series before picking up the new short stories collection. This book was a perfect end to the Inheritance cycle and I loved all the details and slow action. I might re-read the series again to see if I pick a few more details hopefully this time around I would remember the story and won't forget it like I did this time.
I am thinking of re-reading The Hunger Games series again as well and I have a feeling that those books would also feel like new because again I read those books more than 6-9 years ago.
First Read
The final part of the trilogy became a four-part saga. I loved the imagination of a youngster who might have picked his inspiration from here and there but the execution is what matters and it was marvelous these books are vast and we cover large areas on the back of dragons.

Another year and another re-read of the series, I love this series and reread the series in preparation for the release of the 20th-anniver3rd Re-read
Another year and another re-read of the series, I love this series and reread the series in preparation for the release of the 20th-anniversary edition of Eragon and also Murtagh in November. From this book we start getting multiple viewpoints, along with Eragon we get Roran's viewpoint and a little bit from Nasuada. This re-read increased the rating of the book for me and I thoroughly enjoyed my time so far, last time I ended up reading the series very quickly (4 days) but this time around I am taking it a little slow but even though I would finish the series way before the books are released but it would be fresher in my mind as I read this series last 3 years ago, funnily around the same time.
2nd Reread
So I am re-reading the entire Inheritance cycle and I am glad for it because in more than 10 years since I read this series originally I had forgotten almost everything about it. Rereading this series is so much fun that I was able to read this 700+ pages book in little more than 3 days and that too with Job and youtube and all. So while Eragon was yes derivative but it was a nice effort from a teenager and this one is better than the first part because it uses fewer tropes perchance but Alas! I could never rate this thing down, after all, it's due to this series being responsible to bring me out of my quarantine-formed reading slump. I mean I was reading but barely 50 or so pages here and there not like this series where I read 3-4 hours in a row completing 150 or more pages.
1st Read
The second book in the Inheritance series and again full of magic and adventure, more dragons, and more action everything is better.
Now let's come to the story, following the events from the first book, Eragon travels to the Elves' country for his training. Another thing that changed here was that no longer there only one viewpoint but rather this time around there were 3 viewpoints Eragon's, Roran's, and Nasuada's. In the elve country, Eragon finds a secret kept by Elves, another Rider but both Dragon and Rider have been rendered broken. Thus Eragon's training begins and it was nice reading about both Eragon's and Saphira's training. On the other hand, The Ra'zac attack Carvahall and kidnap Katrina which forces Roran to migrate with the entire village to Surda, which makes for wonderful Roran chapters.
And of course, there's the perpetual danger of attack from the enemy and when Eragon finally reaches the Vardan then the fight begins. Here the story moves towards the closure and now we would move to the 3rd book in the series and Reread and then the 4th and then the short stories collection.
