Elio Moretti, 2nd in command has a fascination with MMA fighter Orion. Orion hates Elio and everything he thinks he stands for while also bearing a heavy weight on his shoulders. As Elio works his way into Orion’s life we quickly come to realize that there is a very thin line between love and hate and these two walk it like a tightrope. Their own personal kinks go together like puzzle pieces as they find their own matching brand of crazy in each other. Orion slowly comes to realize that even in his gray world, there are still many nuances to shades and that Elio and his family, though criminals, may just be the ones to make sure the world around them doesn’t completely fall to ruin. The heat in this book is second only to the emotional journey that both characters are able to take with each other to find their version of a happy ending. We also get to visit with old friends and get glimpses of stories to come in the future. Another fantastic series by the author that got me hooked on MM romance in the first place! Highly recommend for a read you just won’t want to put down. ...more

As part of the FU2 series, I first discovered the twins in this story in A Stealthy Situation by Saxon James and really hoped we would get the story of Emmett’s situation and how it resolved. Emmett has been living life, swapping places with his twin Benny since they were very young, to the detriment of both of them in ways both emotional and educational. When Emmett is kicked out of school he starts living more as Benny and starts to lose his own sense of who he is and what he wants out of life in the process. When he stumbles across Jonah, the professor of the class he took for his brother, he begins to see what they could have together and finds a new sense of self and purpose. But his past is standing in their way. Together, through some really rough patches for both of them, they discover that if they are willing to put the work in, love and life together are possible and wonderful. This story was honestly a very emotional one. There was family dynamics, relationship dynamics, accepting faults in others and yourself. A lot of laughter and tears all put into one great story. I think this was my favorite out of the entire series and I hope others get to enjoy it just as much. ...more

Raising Wayne gave me the same feelings as stories by some of my favorThis was the first book by MZ Arthur that I have read but it won’t be the last. Raising Wayne gave me the same feelings as stories by some of my favorite MM Authors like BA Tortuga and Jody Payne. Real slice of life stories that just bring you right into the ups and downs of the characters' relationships. Clive is given custody of his nephew after losing his sister. To better know Wayne’s health history he tracks down the donor who made his sister's dream possible. Never did he expect to feel the pull that he instantly did for Zim. Zim never thought he would get to meet or be involved in the life that resulted from just trying to survive. Somehow the story does not come across as uncomfortable, complicated yes, impossible no. I enjoy how the author truly brings these characters' emotions and actions to life in a really believable way. Humans make decisions every day where you have to live with the consequences every day and the author makes you feel and experience everyone of those decisions along with the characters. I also think that this story makes you believe in fate because everything that had to happen for these 2 men to find each other, fate would be the only explanation. Again, I can’t wait to see what the author brings us next. ...more

She brings us stories OK,, I can honestly say at this point that BA Tortuga is one of my top 3 Authors. I just adore her real life style of writing. She brings us stories of people out there who could be you or me, if we were Gay Cowboys. They are the tales of people who have loved and lost, people who have suffered trauma and are afraid of intimacy and commitment, and other relationship issues. Second Chance Cowboy brings us the story of a couple who loved each other in Sawyer and Liam, but without good communications even the best relationships will crumble and that is what lead to Sawyer and Liam’s divorce. This is the story of the Second Chance that they find with each other while co-parenting their two daughters. As usual the author rolls so much story and feeling into a tight package. Just when I think I’m getting to the end of the story, I see that I am only 40% into the story and that there is just so much incredible writing to come and I can’t wait for it. This book shows that real love takes work, understanding and a true commitment to each other. This book is just another in the large and wonderful catalog of stories that the author has given us and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a story filled with true to life love. ...more

Harlan and Sawyer have been each other's favorite person since they first met working together in their 20’s. Sawyer feels like his life is falling apart when the job he’s loved for almost half of his life is suddenly gone. On top of this he feels like a failure in regards to his personal life as well. When he goes to commiserate with Harlan over where his life hasn’t gone and with no idea where to go…they both end up surprised where their road takes them. They discover sometimes it just takes the slightest breeze to blow aside the curtain that is blocking the view of what you really want. As Harlan and Sawyer try to find their way to what they really want their relationship together to be they go thru multiple episodes of miscommunication. I think that if I had one issue with this book it was this. It's tough enough when you have 1 person who is misunderstanding and misreading things in a relationship but when both parties just aren’t communicating things well the multiple conflicts become a little tiring. Other than this I loved the book.. The chemistry between the best friends was off the charts, so much that none of their friends believed they were “just friends”. The story truly showed the difficulty and fear that can be present when you take a chance with a solid friendship relationship to try to have something more that could be incredible. Another great read from the author and I”ve truly enjoyed every story in this series. ...more

We have broken away from the main character group we were originally introduced to and are now having the Extended Family find their perfect someone’s. Willow has been traveling the country with his cousins in search of his Spark, directed by a magic compass showing him the way. After 5 yrs of hunting he finally meets Nash with an added bonus. Nash’s brother Callum is his true mate. This was a nice quick sweet read. The characters are all happy with their lives and there is absolutely no drama or angst to be found in this love story. I’m not a huge fan of major angst. I do wish this story maybe had a little more drama or some type of conflict in it though. I found it to be a bit pat. Other than the fact that Willow had been traveling for such a long time, he found both his spark and true love and basically lived happily ever after. If you are looking for just an all around happy story, this is definitely for you, but If you want some bite I would try other books in the series. ...more

We have watched the friendship between Tyler and Sebastian throughout the series always wondering if there was possibly more there. One night When Sebastian discovers his girlfriend cheating on him, Tyler ends up comforting him in a whole new unexpected way. The safety and comfort that they feel with each other is brought to a whole new level when attraction is brought into the mix. There is some angst with starting the relationship as Tyler currently has a girlfriend and Sebastian comes from an ultra religious family but I expected more difficult scenes dealing with these issues than it ended up being. Honestly was fairly cut and dry for how it was initially presented in the story. Another enjoyable book in the series as these two men figure out how to become best friends with the best benefits as well, life long ones. Earlier books in the series do not have to be read first, but it was nice to know other characters' backgrounds when reading. ...more

This author excels in the Slice of Life romances that just make you feel warm from the inside out and Wat and Tygh’s story is no exception but follows the rule of feel good romance that I have long ago discovered with this author. Wat lands himself a job on a ranch that specializes in at-risk foster kids while trying to continue to recover from a tragedy with his young daughter. Tygh is a classic introvert that is pulled into an instant family situation while trying to help during a crisis. How these two men find their way to a loving comfortable relationship is a wonderful thing to read. As with all of the author’s books, I always love the pacing of the stories. As I’m reading the story and I feel like I should be getting to the end with all of the content that has been provided, I look down at my reading progress and I’m only about 40% in! Leo agrees to be Jay’s Plus-One to a few upcoming holiday festivities but as the two spend more and more time together, the chemistry they had instantly felt in the past gets stronger and stronger as the two start to realize that maybe being friends isn’t what either of them really want. This was a really nice heart-warming read with Leo being one big Green Flag in how he supports Jay, who is a Trans Man having some dysmorphic conflicts due to his breakup. Really liked these two characters and another story of how sometimes the timing of meeting someone just may not be right, even if they are the right person for you. You just have to believe that fate will bring them back when the time is right. Definitely a holiday story to pick up. ...more

I think this Lost Boys series will have a slightly different feel than her normal series and I am all here for it. This book definitely starts off with a Bang and shows us that sometimes what starts off as an escape can turn into so much more. Beckett is a man with a calling for helping people, but just not sure how to fulfill that need in his daily life so he provides service in his own way and format to those around him. Holden has a turbulent past with his hometown of Seguin and comes back to recover from a major life event and to help his father recover from illness. There were so many things I loved about this book, one being the real approach of how serious illness not only affects the person who is ill but their friends and family around them. This book also provided more tears for me than any other Kelly Fox novel and I was so there for the ride. I don’t think I have ever been more heartbroken over a character I barely got to know in a book before and it was a beautiful thing. We also had a few nice cameo's and mentions of those lovely boys of mayhem as well for fun. Kelly Fox fan or not, this is a must read for any romance lover who just wants to “Feel” for a little while. Can’t wait to see how the other Lost Boys are “Found”. ...more

Dylan and Cass’s story of fully realizing what they have been to each other through their entire lives was just wonderful. Becca Seymour is one of a handful of authors that, to me, write “True to Life” stories of romance. I feel like the author’s characters are not made up fictional caricature’s but the type of people and stories you can find out there in the world. Their writing style just makes me feel comfortable and at home. I can count on one hand how many authors bring me this feeling. Specifically about this book, SO GOOD! Dylan and Cass have been best friends and soulmates since the day they met. Their lives are so intertwined that most people who don’t know them already think they are a couple so when Dylan has an emergent situation that requires him to be married. Cass doesn’t hesitate to step up. This brings thoughts and feelings to the forefront for both men that they have always ignored. Secrets on both sides are kept and revealed in this wonderful story of two people who were just meant to be together bringing that realization to life. The previous stories in the series are not necessary to enjoy this one, but it does make the reading more fun to see favorites from the past pop in to say hi! ...more

Jason and Tae Hyun receive backlash from both surprising and expected areas of their lives as they try to figure out what the rest of their lives will look like. This was a great follow-up to the first story and I really enjoyed the author’s way of bringing real life reaction and emotions into the story of these two men. As a K-Pop fan, even knowing this is fiction, you can see shades of truth the author provided into the K-Pop world and what happens when you are not the “Perfect Idol” that your company expects you to be. Roman and Locky’s story is just very sweet with Roman’s instant interest in Locky the first time he lays eyes on him. All Roman wants to do is make Locky’s life easier because he thinks he doesn’t deserve to be by his side due to a turbulent past. Lock just really needs someone who will support him and allow him to be himself, someone he can trust completely and he finds that in Roman. One of the things I really enjoy about this story and others I have read recently is that we are getting characters and stories where the individuals don’t feel like they need to put a label on themselves in regards to their sexuality. It's that they fell for the person and don’t care what the outside package is for the most part. The attraction has no gender identity.
