Una simple palabra describe este libro: try-hard. Gracias a ese intento por sonar graciosa, la autora escribió una historia que empezó bien, pero que terminó con el epílogo más desastroso que he leído en mi vida. Y usualmente amo los epílogos.
Esto será excesivamente largo, así que si no quieres leerlo completo, aquí está mi resumen: ESTE LIBRO APESTA, NO LO LEAS. FIN.

Advertencia: Contiene spoilers por todas partes y malas palabras e insultos. Y párrafos interminables. Fanáticos alejarse si no soportan las reseñas negativas. Cabe recordar que es MI reseña y MI opinión, así que si muchos no están de acuerdo, lo respeto. Y espero que la gente no sienta la imperiosa necesidad de insultarme porque no me gustó el libro.
Para hacer todo más sencillo decidí dividir mi reseña en cada tema “problemático” para mí. Y ya explicaré por qué creo que es problemático.
1. Es un fanfic.
Quise empezar por el punto más básico de todos. Este libro es un fanfic y desde ahí empieza el problema. ¿Por qué? Porque los fanfics NO deberían ser publicados. Bajo ninguna circunstancia. Nop, jamás. ¿Pero por qué? Por la sencilla razón de que se lucran del trabajo de alguien. Un escritor que publica un fanfic está abusando de todo lo que alguien más hizo para crear y vender su historia y eso sencillamente es despreciable.
Este libro inició como un fanfic de Crepúsculo. E.L James utilizó los personajes y se basó en las personalidades de Bella, Edward y su combo para crear este esperpento libro. Puedes decirme: Pero Grey y su historia no se parece a Crepúsculo. Y yo diré: Qué ciego eres.

La única edición que sufrió el fanfic fue el cambio de nombres, de pequeños rasgos físicos y hasta ahí . Pero aún hay rastros de Edward, Bella, los Cullen y todo lo demás en cada página de esta historia. ¿Por qué? Porque sencillamente la autora tenía que atraer a toda esa gente que la leyó online para que comprara su libro ya publicado. Porque tenía que lograr que todos los fanáticos de Crepúsculo que aún no la conocían sintieran curiosidad. Y que todo aquel que haya leído Crepúsculo, sin importar si lo odió o lo amó, también tomaran este libro (tú no vendes 100 millones de esta cosa sólo porque es una historia “fascinante” o porque ayude a salvar matrimonios).
Así que a pesar de ser una “historia completamente diferente” te encuentras con que todavía hay un parecido físico con los personajes de Crepúsculo, Ana sigue siendo Bella, y Grey es muy parecido a Edward (sólo que un poco más retorcido). Y muchas, muchas otras cosas más que siguen sonando a Crepúsculo.
Así que, todo se reduce a esto: Este es un puñetero fanfic que jamás debió haber dejado de serlo y esta mujer jamás debió haber podido lucrarse de un trabajo (que aunque no es brillante ni nada) no le pertenecía.

2. El argumento.
El argumento es inexistente. Es la típica historia chica buena y virginal quiere salvar al hombre roto. Pero jamás pasa de esa premisa. Te pasas 544 páginas leyendo una historia donde no pasa nada. Donde todo gira alrededor de una chica tonta que tiene sexo por primera vez y se convierte en una maníaca sexual y un hombre imbécil y con tendencias abusivas. Asumo que la idea de esto es cómo Ana logra salvar a Grey de su oscuro pasado (porque no se parece a Crepúsculo ni nada), pero al parecer tienes que leer toda la “obra” para quedar completamente satisfecho, porque en realidad aquí no pasa nada.

Y cuando un libro carece de buen argumento, lo que esperas es que los personajes sean atractivos y estén tan bien caracterizados que todo el peso de la historia recaiga sobre ellos. Y, aunque, claramente esa fue la intención de James, para mí, los personajes de esta historia son todo menos atractivos o interesantes, y más bien terminan siendo desagradables y dignos de mi odio perturbadores.
3. La escritura.
Kill me now… Eso, básicamente, se siente leer este libro. Yo leo libros juveniles y románticos principalmente, y para muchos eso es “literatura basura” que siempre está mal escrita, y en realidad no es así. Hay libros románticos y juveniles que están bien escritos, pero también hay libros como éste, que están escritos terriblemente. Y créanme, he leído muchos libros malos.
Guiño un ojo a Ray intentando recuperar la serenidad. ¿Qué has hecho?, me grita mi subconsciente. La diosa que llevo dentro da volteretas dignas de una gimnasta olímpica rusa.
La escritura sigue siendo como la de un fanfic: excesivamente plana y muy poco descriptiva. Y, como fanfic, también le falta un montón de revisión, porque las cosas que aparecen entre las páginas de este libro son de miedo. Y ni hablar de todas las muletillas, frases repetidas (las veces que Ana dice “Uau” son demasiadas) y uso de adjetivos iguales durante toda la historia. Ana es la tonta y sin gracia que se muerde el labio, y Grey sólo está muy bueno y es “misterioso”, y todos los demás personajes son sólo gente linda que aparecen cuando la autora sólo quiere darles un respiro del sexo a Ana y Grey.
El libro es excesivamente largo para ser una historia sin argumento. Pasas 544 páginas leyendo tonterías y escenas de sexo que no son tan sensuales como podrías pensar pero sí bastante mediocres. La autora es repetitiva y a la mitad de libro ya estás cansada de Ana y su inhabilidad para decir que no y para no sentirse encandilada por la apariencia física y el dinero de Grey. Porque, a pesar de las páginas excesivas, este libro jamás hace un énfasis en la relación para que yo me crea que estos dos están verdaderamente enamorados. Para mí jamás deja de ser un insta-love con una protagonista que es demasiado idiota para darse cuenta de en qué clase de problema se metió al perseguir al millonario (oh, lo siento, es billonario).

4. Los personajes.
Christian Grey.
El brillante hombre de negocios. El hombre talentoso. El apuesto empresario. El taciturno y misterioso ser.
El hombre despreciable.

Christian Grey en teoría es el sueño de todas las mujeres: guapísimo, inteligente, elegante (no vale si estás bueno y no te sabes vestir, ¿ok?), misterioso Y forrado. ¿Quién no quiere un hombre así, eh? Anastasia lo quiere, y probablemente muchas lectoras también, porque, en teoría, es el hombre perfecto.
James intenta crear un balance entre Edward Cullen, el oh-tan-sensual vampiro, y Batman (Ja! No sé si esa ha sido sólo mi impresión… Grey Enterprises suena muy parecido a Wayne Enterprises), el súper-duper-millonario que es misterioso, rico, con una vida sexual de envidia y además tiene un pasado oscuro. I mean, si funcionó con Batman por qué no con Grey? Tal vez porque Batman no era un acechador/abusador/loco.
Pero toda esa “perfección” no me impresionó en absoluto. Para mí Grey en realidad es un manipulador, abusivo, demasiado dominante hasta el punto de rayar en lo aterrador, acechador y muy, muy tostado con problemas psicológicos que NO se pueden vencer sólo con la fuerza del amor.
La forma en la que actúa Grey no es normal ni debería considerarse “romántico” o “sexy” o algo bueno en general. Grey usa su dinero para manipular a Ana, la intimida y usa el sexo para lograr que ella acceda a lo que quiere. Sus cambios de humor son aterradores y no lo hacen parecer un personaje “misterioso, oscuro y con problemas”, no, sino un personaje que NO tiene estabilidad mental.

Grey de principio a fin manipula la situación con Ana y la usa como se le da la gana. Él sabe que ella NO es una sumisa natural (si es que a eso que él hace se le puede llamar BDSM) y aún así la persigue y la ACOSA hasta hacer que ella haga lo que él quiere.
No voy a mentir, al principio intenté encontrarle un lado bueno a este personaje, pero no pude. Todo él me molesta. Toda su personalidad y sus interacciones con Ana me parecen horribles y espeluznantes.

Grey y su dinero.
Este es un punto especial. Probablemente todo el mundo dirá: le buscas más patas al gato. Y puede que sí. Pero no pude evitarlo. Pasé cinco años de mi vida estudiando Finanzas. Mi sueño es tener lo que Grey “tiene” y probablemente ser tan rica como él. Por eso ha sido inevitable que me pasara 544 páginas pensando: ¿Qué coñazo hace Grey Enterprises? ¿Acaso Grey trabaja o sólo se la pasa todo el día acosando vírgenes inocentes?
Y las preguntas siguieron cuando el dinero empieza a ser una parte importante de la relación amorosa. Grey, en su racha de control-freak empieza a regalarle cosas a Ana, a darle premios como a un perro por portarse bien, y Ana empieza a notar lo rico (riquísimo) que es Grey. Entonces ella habla del helicóptero de Grey, y de su jet privado, y de cómo él es el único dueño de la empresa, y en cómo hacen investigaciones para acabar con el hambre en el tercer mundo. Todo muy vago. Lo único que sabemos es que Grey está forrado y que él solito hizo todo su dinero. Ya.

Ahora dime cómo alguien logra tener todo ese dinero en apenas seis años. Ahora que alguien me explique cómo este tipo tiene una empresa de más de cuarenta mil empleados (what?). Que alguien me explique siquiera qué hace específicamente su empresa o por qué tiene tanto tiempo libre. Yo pienso que tiene relación con la mafia y trafica con indocumentados, por eso no le gusta hablar de su trabajo.
Pero, obvio, lo único que importa es que el tipo es más rico que Creso, que está más bueno que Adonis y que es un loco en potencia está roto, pobrecito. Ahhh, y que él solito hizo todo su dinero, porque los hijos de papá que heredan fortunas están pasados de moda (lo siento, Batman).
En fin, Grey está lejos… lejísimos de ser el personaje soñado que sólo necesita un poco de amor. He’s nuts, end of the story.
Anastasia

Estar en la cabeza de Ana es sentir que tus pobres neuronas están haciendo un trabajo increíble por no suicidarse.

Ana, en teoría, es la típica chica buena, virgen y guapísima (pero obvio no lo sabe, porque ya lo dice la famosa canción de One Direction: eso es lo que la hace hermosa) que ha vivido bajo una roca hasta que empieza esta historia. Ana NO ha tenido sexo a los veintiún años (eso lo paso), jamás ha tenido un orgasmo (what?), no sabe absolutamente nada de sexo (ni de la vida, ya puestos), no tiene un computador y al parecer ni siquiera sabe cómo funciona la internet (¿quién, a estas alturas de la vida no sabe cómo abrir un correo electrónico? ¿O no sabe nada de nada sobre usar un computador? I mean, ¿una puñetera universitaria no va a saber cosas así? WTF? ¿Y de paso, alguien me puede decir por qué si ambos tienen BlackBerrys hablaban por correo electrónico y no por el chat del BB?).
Ana es una universitaria que no sabe nada de nada que de repente se ve involucrada con un sexy y muy misterioso hombre de negocios que sí sabe muchas cosas. Entonces la dulce y virginal Ana pasa de ser completamente ignorada y asexual, a convertirse en una mistress del sexo, con una habilidad oral perfecta (y no, no me refiero a su habilidad de hablar en público) y una sed insaciable por el sexo. Sí, la chica que no sabía nada de nada de repente está salivando y mojando las bragas por el sexy hombre perfecto. Ya.

Ana cae rendida a los pies de Grey desde el primer momento en que lo ve (insta-lust), y aunque sabe desde el principio que él es medio rarito “misterioso” aún así suelta la baba cada vez que lo ve. Ignora, repetidamente, su tendencia a acosarla y pronto se ve completamente “enamorada” de él.
[…]Es tan imprevisible, sexy, listo, divertido… Pero sus cambios de humor… ah, y además quiere hacerme daño. Dice que tendrá en cuenta mis reservas, pero sigue dándome miedo. Cierro los ojos. ¿Qué le digo? En el fondo, querría más, más afecto, más del Christian travieso, más… amor.
Ana empieza su relación sabiendo que Grey no quiere más que sexo, pero aún así se mete de cabeza en ésta y se enamora de un tarado que la hace sentir insegura. Repetidamente tienes que leer sobre sus monólogos internos y tienes que leer cómo su lujuria la ha llevado a la locura, creando dos personajes muy molestos: su diosa interna y su subconsciente, que, pobrecillas, tienen que compartir la mente de Ana con un montón de muebles, ropa y accesorios que las dos usan constantemente para animar o juzgar a Ana (¿A que no sabías que tu subconsciente se puede esconder detrás de un sofá? Y probablemente tampoco sabías que tu diosa interna sexual puede vestirse como porrista y echarte porras. Probablemente a ti no te pasa porque sí eres una persona cuerda. Aburrida, pero cuerda).
Así que leer este libro es meterte en la espantosa mente de una chica de 21 años que actúa como si tuviera 40 (yo sigo pensando que Ana sólo es el alter ego de la escritora. La chica con suerte que la autora quiere ser ahora). Y tienes que leer sobre sus diálogos internos con su diosa interna que sólo piensa en sexo 24/7 y es ABSURDAMENTE MOLESTA.

Además, como si no fuera suficiente el tener que aguantarte a 1) Anastasia y 2) a su puñetera diosa interna a la que quieres asesinar desde el primer momento, también tienes que leer cómo esta chica va perdiéndose por el amor irracional hacia su acosador. El sexo le nubla la cabeza a Ana, así que tienes que leer cómo ella empieza a caer en este círculo vicioso de abuso, cómo ella lidia con sus sentimientos de “no quiero ser una sumisa, pero él está tan bueno que me lo quiero comer”… O también “no quiero que me pegue pero es que no me puedo resistir a él”… Y así, de principio a fin.
Querías saber por qué me sentí confundida después de que me… ¿qué eufemismo utilizo: me dieras unos azotes, me castigaras, me pegaras, me agredieras?
Ana NO es una sumisa natural. Ana no quiere que la nalgueen pero se deja. Ana no quiere que la amarren pero se deja. Ana no quiere una relación de sólo sexo pero acepta. ¿POR QUÉ COÑAZO SE DEJA HACER TODO? Porque está enamorada. Porque ella cree que SU obligación es salvar a Grey. Porque ella cree que puede cambiarlo *inserte bufido aquí* y hacer que él la ame y olvide todas sus cincuenta sombras y toda esa mierda. Ana se mete en la relación sabiendo a qué se atiene, y aún así continúa con ella. Porque Ana es un personaje insípido y sin personalidad. Ella sólo está escrita con el objetivo de salvar a Grey. Aquí importa sólo Grey (por si el nombre no te lo había dicho ya), así que no importa si su seguridad se vea amenazada. No importa si su corazón termina destrozado. Aquí sólo importa poder rehabilitar al gamín de a Grey.
Mi pensamiento vuelve a centrarse en esta tarde. Teniendo en cuenta cuáles creo que son sus preferencias, me parece que ha sido benévolo conmigo. ¿Estaría dispuesta a hacerlo otra vez? No voy a fingir remilgos que no siento. Pues claro que lo haría, si él me lo pidiera… siempre que no me haga daño y sea la única forma de estar con él.
¿Saben lo horripilante que fue leerla? ¿Saben lo frustrada que me hizo sentir? ¿Saben todas las veces que me hubiese gustado tenerla en frente para gritarle y golpearla? Este personaje me hizo enojar, me hizo reír por lo absurdo que es, pero sobre todo me hizo odiar cada parte de ella y no sentir ni un poco de pesar por su destino. #NoShame.
Los demás personajes
Los Cullen y Jacob. Todos de relleno y sin importancia. Todos están ahí para mostrar un poco más de la vida de Ana y Grey, pero en realidad son irrelevantes y sin gracia. Probablemente la única que puede llegar a ser importante es la Sra. Robinson (sí, esa a la que no debes considerar una abusadora de menores por haber tenido una relación sexual con Grey cuando él tenía 15 años), pero que en esta parte sólo fue un motivo para despertar los celos de Anastasia. ¿Pero todos los demás? No, todos esos personajes secundarios son de adorno.
4. El contrato
Jamás había leído nada tan ofensivo como ese contrato. Nada. Eso no es un contrato de “sé mi sumisa y yo te daré placer sexual.” No, eso es un contrato de “conviértete en mi juguete sexual y mi saco de boxeo mientras yo te pago con regalos por tus servicios sexuales y por dejar que te golpee.” Es una gran prueba de lo controlador que es Grey. ¿Por qué coñazo debería haber un contrato para una relación sexual BDSM? No es la primera vez que leo un libro con esta temática, pero es la primera vez que leo que algo así está involucrado. Creo que la parte del contrato NO tiene sentido en absoluto. Para mí este contrato es una excusa para intentar hacer ver más “malo y roto” a Christian. Para demostrar cómo él, el súper amo, tiene todo el poder, pero también cómo está súper dañado, roto y oh-por-Dios necesita a alguien que lo salve.

Grey intenta obligar a Ana a vivir un estilo de vida que ella no quiere. Claro, ellos negocian los términos del contrato, pero aunque ella le dice, repetidamente, que no quiere ser castigada de ninguna manera, él sigue terco en ese punto e intenta obligarla a aceptar esa parte de la relación (pero en una relación BDSM no puedes obligar a nadie a hacer nada que no quiera. Punto). Ana al final no firma y eso la hace especial, no? Pues bien, el contrato ni siquiera tiene validez jurídica, así que es igual si lo firma como si no, al final termina haciendo lo que Grey quiere y termina recibiendo el castigo que él quiere.
5. BDSM
Esto, señores, no es BDSM. Esto es misionero, doggy-style y mucho sexo oral con algunos jugueticos para calentar las cosas. Y también es una forma de encubrir la actitud abusiva de Grey.
Ahora, en el BDSM es importante la confianza. Saber que tu pareja no te va a hacer daño. Que el Dom no se sobrepasará con la sub de ninguna manera. Y aquí no hay ni cinco de confianza. Ana está aterrorizada de Edward Grey. Lo dice, repetidamente. Es increíble la cantidad de veces que Ana dice cosas como “no quiero que me pegue”… Si no hay confianza en la relación, entonces esta no puede existir. Y Ana no confía en Grey. A ella le aterroriza la idea de ser golpeada, le teme y se asusta… Cada vez que él tiene uno de sus cambios repentinos de humor (porque eso no es peligroso ni nada), ella teme por su bienestar. Lo siento, pero, si eso no es estar en una relación abusiva, no sé qué más será.
