La historia principal, Aciago encuentro en Lankhmar seguro que merecería un cinco por si misma, pero las dos historias de origen (las mujeres de la nieve especialmente) no me entusiasman tanto....more

Lo que me extraña son algunas reseñas que hablan de que "todas las historias siguen un patrón" y "Conan rescata a la chica"... cuando no es así en la inmensa mayoría de los mismos. En muchos de ellos no hay personaje femenino que valga la pena mencionar (La torre del elefante, El dios del cuenco, Hatajo de rufianes) y en otros tiene mujeres que evidentemente no son rescatadas por Conan (La Reina de la Costa Negra, La hija del gigante helado.)
Incluso algunos que si tiene una mujer que se ajusta a la imagen de la damisela en peligro no se ajustan a un mismo patrón. Quizás el que más se ajusta a estos tópicos sea, precisamente, El valle de las mujeres perdidas (de nuevo, uno de los peores relatos de Conan), y quizás sombras a la luz de la luna. Pero Nathok el Velado y Nacera una bruja, aunque las reinas y princesas ocupan sin duda ese papel de damisela y son rescatadas, añaden elementos diferentes (la intriga política, la guerra) que quedan fuera de un patrón sugerido.
No sé, personalmente, no me parece motivo suficiente (al no ser que lo estemos leyendo ya con unas ideas preconcebidas) para decir que ese es el patrón y no otro.
En otro orden de cosas, leyendo por enésima vez el Dios del cuenco me ha impresionado como es más bien una historia noir, con elemento terrorífico, mucho más que una historia de fantasía. El director del museo, el detective, el sospechoso evidente (un tipo duro), el policía corrupto... ¡incluso el chofer!...more
