When I picked the wrong heart, I did not notice it's the same author as of Catch the Sun and being a doc and have already read blurb I was like ," oh come on." Heart is basically muscle, you can not look for a connection through that but I'm emotional wreck. Even now it wouldn't make any sense to me but this brilliant heartbreaking story made me feel much more than just sense.
Melody is infuriating and so is Parker but I loved them even with their flaws and idiocy and whatever they did throughout the book. There are definitely points where I just went ,"are you dumb?" But seriously I just can't breathe. This book was unexpectedly beautiful. And once I realised that the author is same I knew that I wasn't mistaken and it indeed was a brilliant book. I was mesmerized by catch the sun but I'm not sure now which one I liked more.
It left me bereft, I understand why epilogue did not work for many but I do understand author's reasons for the epilogue and I feel that even though it was not really necessary, it was good for me to get a disconnect from the characters. Otherwise I would have brooded about them for few weeks.
Like a friend of mine said, all my thoughts were centred around the book and characters and I wanted to shift my reality into this world. The more I think about it, the more I feel closer to characters and I thought that this really was as close to the emotions I could get without being destroyed myself.
If I don't get HEA, I will probably never recover from this.
If you are into well written, sad tragic romances this book is worth all your time and more. ...more
Now this is the second book where my experience with Audiobook was much much better than the content of the book.
Now this one had promising premise, it gave me Edgar Allan Poe's mask of the red death vibes coz that was the damn plot and it really felt like I was gonna love this book. But there's hardly exciting that happens in the book. Talon calling Odyssa little wolf from the very first meeting made no sense at all. Then Odyssa was having so many accidents that it was just repetitive and annoying. Lot of things made no sense in the book. Till about 60 % of the book nothing happened but her accidents.
Odyssa wasn't powerful nor did she did anything extravagant. Her cribbing over her mother's death and horrible brothers was overly done. If she was in the castle and that was coz of her brothers, how was she responsible for looking after them. I mean come one use the brain sometimes.
She infuriated me, there was hardly any chemistry between her and Talon. Overall this book disappointed me big time. Coz this could have been such a hit book.

The Dragon King by Penelope Barsetti Narrated by Ramona Master; Michael Ferraiuolo
Both the narrators has done a fantastic job especially male narrator as his Dragon's voice and Talon's voice were so different that it felt like two different people has voiced it over.
This is the third book in the series and I didn't notice it when I requested it, nevertheless I liked to listen to the audiobook. I'm definitely going to read the first two books because I really want to know what happened between Callista and Talon.
Now to be honest, there's hardly anything that's going on in the book, there was a moment when I thought of DNFing the book but I carried on coz narrators really kept me engaged. There is few action here in this book but somehow I was invested in the characters. Especially the character of the Queen Eldinar is my favourite.
I liked what was overall going on in the book. The dragons and other dark stuff. I just wish it had more action or more thrill to it but now that I'm already invested, I'm gonna request and get my hands on the next book.
See ya on the other side.

Serial killer support group was really a fun read. I enjoyed it. There are still parts of the book that are far fetched and somehow I was able to figure out who killed Myra and yet I was intrigued in what's happening next throughout the book. Like Cyra being able to infiltrate the group which even FBI has not managed to and then all these killers did not feel sharp given how things escalated out of control so fast but still it was fun to read about what was going on with Cyra and other killers.
I think one thing is they all were given a humane side which I feel made them not so scary but I personally feel that to make them seem humane is not a good angle.
Anyways I will definitely recommend to people who enjoy some fast pace mystery.

Curious me feelings was a good book but I feel it could have been better. I have one of the other feelings book which shows emotions side by side so it is easier to see the difference especially with opposite feelings like happy and sad. Even my kid when asked said that she liked the other book better.

I just loved this book and finished it in a day coz I just couldn't wait. I requested it just as soon as I saw the book is available here on Netgalley and I downloaded and started it in a flash.
I finished it and I just can't breathe coz that ending was so much more than I expected it to be or unexpected. Finally Blake has got some brains and grown some balls coz I would have liked to kill him myself if he hadn't. Medra's character need some growing up too. I didn't expect that twist about someone's transformation. I don't really want to give up spoilers here.
Next best thing about this book, it didn't kill unnecessarily especially the main characters like one exception of Navin in the book 1 but that's fine. I just thought Navin will be back in this one somehow,I was a bit disappointed but I moved on. But I have started to like every character in this series especially Theo and Visha. Please Briar, do not kill them in next book. I love them more than I love Medra and Blake even with their chemistry.
Medra and Blake's chemistry was too good. It was heart pounding and adrenaline pumping throughout. There was never a dull moment in the book and the ending , I did not see that coming at all. When I read the fantasy, I can easily figure out what's gonna happen next but this one kept me in dark for the whole damn book. Damn you Briar for making it so unpredictable and so good that now I want the third book already. The whole storyline was totally surprising. No predictable twists or turns which says a lot about author. Coz it gets very dull and boring if one can figure out what's going to happen next.
One more thing that I will say is I want to see Draven and Morgan in this series coz I had loved them as well. But I love Medra and Blake even more. I'm eagerly waiting for the next part.

The staircase in the woods was an unexpected read. It's fleshed out well. It has creepy and horror element which was there from start till the end. I loved the ending and it was what probably saved the book for me.
It is too slow paced, from about 30 % till about 70-75% I was bored to death. Nothing exciting was really happening in the book and I was pushing myself and hoping that it is all worth it. It was kind of. Although I would have preferred something even better but the ending was still good.
The mystery of Matty was kept dubious till the end, one couldn't figure out if he was dead or alive. If alive , then was he okay? Till the end I was praying that he is well. Even though you end up hating every character coz they are hateful but you start rooting for them too. I definitely did.
There were few things like sex, or politics or drugs which made me cringe. Some can be triggers for some readers.
Overall it was good read. Could have been better if had been shorter.
I absolutely f***ing loved this book. It is too long, I didn't mind it. The slow pace, didn't care. Slow bur “Kissing you feels like catching the sun”
I absolutely f***ing loved this book. It is too long, I didn't mind it. The slow pace, didn't care. Slow burn, yeah bring it on. Tugging back n fro, well that annoyed me but okay.
I don't read romances much. I don't like romances much. I don't rate romances this high and yet I did this one. I don't read YA, don't like them. But this one is just my favourite.
Every moment of this book I loved. I adored. I hated Max and Ella. No I can't ever hate Max. Ella yes, coz she was sometimes getting on my nerves. Why only sometimes. Most of the times. Her habit of running away whenever something changed made me scream in a pillow. But Max, He is perfect. A man who felt very real, yet too real to be true. Not a single thing he did wrong in this book. Wow. I can't just put into words. Coz I'm blown. My mind is blown. My heart is blown.
This book was like watching a real life unfold, from the start to finish. It felt so normal to read the story and the characters. The setting was also very perfect. I loved all the character development. I was hoping that there's no sad ending or anyone dying. Well someone does but I didn't really like the character but thank God, Jennifer Hartmann didn't kill any of my favourite characters. And who's my favourite character? Almost every f***ing character except the bad ones of course. The bully, the abusers that sort of people.
To my fellow women reader friends, if you like bad guys, read about Max you will forget about them. He is that good.
I feel this will make a very good romantic comedy. I can't imagine anyone playing both protagonists but I will definitely watch it if it ever makes to screen. I hope it does.

Some quotes I loved and will cherish forever
“Romanticize your life. Don’t live every day like it’s your last. Live every day like it’s your first. Lasts are tragic. Firsts are exciting and full of celebration. Look at every sunrise like it’s the first time you’ve ever seen colors like that before. Listen to your favorite song like you’ve never heard such a precious melody. If you make every day a celebration, you’ll never get bored in your own story.”
“Love comes first. You’re grieving because love happened. You’re bleeding because love sank its nasty, beautiful claws in you. You’re crying because love filled you up and now it has nowhere to go.”
“Souls don’t see, Sunny. Souls feel. They feel, and they yearn, and they know. I’d feel you in any lifetime, in any version of any reality. And I’d know, without a doubt, without a shred of hesitation…that your soul was meant for mine.”
“There’s no closure in something like that,” he continues, the words breathy. “That kind of grieving is an entirely different beast. Grieving someone still alive becomes choice, instead of chance, and I’ve had a whole lot of experience with that. Sometimes I think it’s the only thing in this world worse than death.”
“You’re right because there is no love and war. Love is war. You fight until you win, or you fight until you lose. Imagine the victory after all that pain and struggle, after all those battle wounds. War was never meant for peacemakers. There is no place for white flags and soft hearts. It’s loud, feral, and violent. Love is a killer, but not everyone dies bloody.”
“I think that’s the only way to recognize your real home. You need to be lost first. You need to be wandering, forgotten, misplaced. Only then will you truly know where you belong.”
And last but not the least - The Dedication
“To those who have weathered life’s harshest storms and sought its silver linings, And to those still seeking their sun, This one’s for you.”...more

I have read the connected series and loved it. So when I saw we are getting answers to what happened to Medra Pendragon in finale of dark fae series, I had to request it. And such a ride it was.
First of all, I hate you Blake. You are stupid, the count of mistakes you did you should never get Medra Pendragon as a partner but I know she will end up with you because you are the MMC after all. Sigh. Only if you don't make more mistakes.
Medra, you are amazing.
There are of course many flaws in the storyline but I definitely enjoyed it totally. The HP vibes, the Arthurian bit almost everything except the vampire stuff. I just hope this high blood drama and Blake both get better in next book. And with that cliffhanger, I want to know what Medra does to Blake.

So informative. AnMerlin's Tour of the Universe, Revised and Updated for the Twenty-First Century by Neil deGrasse Tyson Narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson
So informative. And in fun way.
This was such a fun book. I really enjoyed it a lot, although few things I still can't understand but it's not at the fault of Tyson but at the incapability of my brain to process it beyond a point. The narration was really good and kept me hooked. I was able to finish this in my two gym workouts. I laughed out loud several times which made other people in the gym wonder what I was listening to.
Overall really good book and audiobook too and definitely gonna recommend it to every science and astrophysics loving guy.

The narration was really good, and that's what kept me hooked in the story otherwise it was surely a dnf for me.
So this is second book of "Mud sawpole mystery"buy you can read it as a standalone. This is a well written book but the mystery and characters didn't really matter to me. There was no character development. Maybe first book will give more but as mystery didn't matter much to me so I doubt I will pick up any book by the author in near future.
It was just a big miss for me. The cover is delicious and that's what made me request the book. At some points mystery to was good but it was slow paced. Also I didn't care who killed who, or who is killed so there's that.

I have read the first book of Elven kingdoms and I really liked it. I had liked both the main protagonists Ravi and Yasmin. Just as I had finished that book, I saw blurb of this one and as soon as it was available here on Netgalley I requested it.
It was a pleasant experience reading Yasmin, Ravi and Dain all my favourite characters making an important appearance in this book. Sadly I had thought this book would be about Dain but it is about Arya. I didn't care much about her as there's no much character development not even in the first book and not even in this one. Same goes for Jay. I did not care for either.
The plot too was not so great. There's some other place like shaldorn so why was shaldorn described as single hell I do not understand. Shaldorn was unreachable, not enterable to common folks. But when there's some place even worse than shaldorn I feel it watered down the whole concept of it.
I would have given it 2 stars but giving it 3 stars coz I didn't expect to get so much of my favourite characters, it just felt more nostalgic. So 3 stars it is. I hope third book is about Dain....more

First of all, to read this kind of books where the Male protagonist is kind of asshole you have accept that there will be misogyny in one way or another. Accept it or don't read it at all.
I enjoyed Bane by L.J. Shen more than I anticipated I would do. Bane was a smart, funny guy and his inner monologues were fun to read. There were moments I just shook my head and chuckled and then there were moments when I laughed out loud coz boy, was he fun to be around. To be honest, I didn't find him hot but yeah I wouldn't mind being his friend.
Overall this was a good book, a few things annoyed as most of these books do. The repetition, the highlighting of some stuff like it gave more weight to the emotional torture or old Jesse, new Jesse just irritated me. But it was fine. I definitely liked reading it and finished it in one night when I crossed about 50-60 % of the book.

Some quotes I liked
“Maybe love was about breaking so the person you cared for would feel a little more whole.”
"You didn’t just walk into my life…You stormed into it. You left me no choice but to heal. Now I want everything.”
"Love is like ivy. It wraps around you, chokes every part of you quietly. It is not patient, or kind, or gentle. It is needy, cunning, and suffocating.”
"Don’t fall in love. Fall off a bridge. It hurts less.”
" Falling in love is when you lose yourself slowly, piece by piece. Infatuation is when you lose yourself all at once. Love is like ivy. It wraps around you, chokes every part of you quietly. It is not patient, or kind, or gentle. It is needy, cunning, and suffocating.” ...more
The narration was not that good, the narrators voice was sometimes so heavy that no matter how I listened to it I couldn't understand what he said. This was the first time that I couldn't enjoy narration although I was thoroughly into the beautiful writing.
His narration was so monotonous that even after doing nothing but listening to audiobook didn't help me understand lot many words. I'm going to buy this book and search for other books by the author coz she can definitely write quite well. This book is a treat for those who like Murakami. It reminded me so much of his writing. The whole book is full of beautiful prose and quotes I wanted to underline. Such books shouldn't be read for plot but for the writing. Even then I loved reading about Shuichi and Kenta.
Set in city of Kamakura, two lonely souls meet: Shuichi, a 40-year-old illustrator, who returns to his hometown to fix up the house of his recently deceased mother, and eight-year-old Kenta, a child who wanders like a shadow around Shuichi’s house. As time passes they both start trusting each other but their bond is beyond that, something else holds them in a bond that would be forever.
This was a heartwarming story of a friendship which exists between two unexpected people. But sometimes these friendships are special and beyond comparison.

This book had me on the edge in just 29 pages. The book starts with an interview with two detectives and a young man. He is suspected to have hand in two mass tragedies where lot of people lost their lives. There is no evidence against him. So either he is a psycho or he is mastermind.
The conversation between them gave me chills. I wanted to know if the young man was actually afterall a psycho. The twist was unexpected and frankly I would have been happy if it had been either of the things but alas. That is why I call it cliched but the ending, on no. In just 29 pages, I felt attached to the characters.
That connection which made sense in the end had me go whattttttt.
