It was so much fun getting to reunite with Beaufort and Mortimer, Dandy and Thompson, Alice and Miriam, and the rest of the gang again.
This time there was mystery and intrigue galore. A fast paced story with a lot of characters that kept me on my toes. Gilbert is fast becoming a favorite along with his chicken lol. The intrigue of the complete lack of Folk had me hooked. The climatic ending had me eager to read, and the final chapter had me sighing with pleasure.
These stories are full of wonderful characters and imaginative creatures, and exciting and well thought out plots. So far this series just keeps getting better.

This one was as entertaining as the rest. Lots of mysterious goings on and some new Folk to meet. I really hope we get more of the Bollies. The Dandy is I hope going to be permanent fixture with maybe a little more explanation as I'm still a little in the dark about him.
The dragons of course were front and center and Mortimer still has a firm hold on my heart. Beaufort is as delightfully inquisitive as always, but gave me a bit of a scare.
The WI continues to get themselves involved in things and I love watching them.
Second book as much if not more enjoyable than the first.
I love these dragons.

A great suspenseful mystery, a gripping vote to see who will lead, an amusing climax and some creepy new Folk to be wary of, and omg the Watch!!!! I'll never be completely at ease around cats again lol.
These are such amusing and entertaining stories, but with that little touch of adult mystery. The only thing missing for me is a little MM love, although there is mention of FF dragons so I'm hopeful, and Mortimer is very loyal to Beaufort <3...more
What a silly funny read. A sort of cross between Midsummer Murders and Miss Marple with the added fun of Dragons.
As murder mysteriesI am enchanted :)

As murder mysteries go this was entertaining and well thought out. I loved all the women of the WI but I confess I got a little confused with the policemen. It was a little hard to keep track of everyone but I think that's down to my own faulty memory, and hopefully as I go on I'll be able to fix them all better in my head.
I adored Mortimer and Beaufort and am looking forward to meeting more of the Cloverly dragons as we go, I especially want to read more of Gilbert my very first vegetarian dragon from the short stories collection lol. ...more

I loved catching up with everyone, well nearly as Diamond was only a passing figure. But the rest were as sweet, adorable and bloodthirsty, in some cases, as I remembered.
The Kings were a worthy villain, and while things seemed to happen a little too easily at the end the journey was still worth it. I did enjoy the little twist at the start, although I was willing to accept the Dragons could of succeeded where others failed.
While it's sad to hear this is the finally book in the series I'm heartened to hear there will be a few more shorts. I especially want to see more of Wyatt and of course I need more on Jed, Charlie and Raziel.
But at the risk of repeating myself...WTF!!!! I'm sorry but the Devlin and co storyline was a big letdown for me. Not only do I feel it was impossible for Midnight to share Devlin, the whole thing was nothing more than porn sets to fill in pages. It's especially sad when I think of all the bits we missed that could of been used instead of the multiple orgy scenes. For example I'd of liked to seen more of Wyatt's justice, and really the final rescue was a tad to easy even for me.
Sorry but those really ruined my enjoyment and so for the first time this one failed the 5 stars....more

The trials and Tribulation of our intrepid band of merry men (and woman), kept me chuckling through out most of the story.
Loth I took a little time to warm up to, but once he started to show his true self it was easy to like him. Grub Cue etc soon felt like part of the party, he just seemed to fit in.
Ada was interesting.
Calarian I'm sorry but I just didn't warm too. I don't think I'm going to enjoy his story as much but I'm hoping something changes like with Loth.
Scott I felt sorry for. Despite him being a self-centered idiot I don't think he deserved the bullying and physical abuse he suffered. He just wasn't villainous enough for me to laugh at when he got hurt.
Dave is my fav along with Pie naturally. I can't wait to get to his story.
Overall, aside from the times when it seemed the group were more bullies than merry men (and woman), this was an entertaining silly enjoyable read....more

I fell for breed pretty much in the two free reads availible, and the first full length story cemented my love.
Breed is no ones idea of a hero and yet he managed to keep saving everyone, except those he killed that is.
Described as a kind of deadpool is no deception. Breed is a potty mouth killing machine. The blood ran as freely as the curse words, which I found highly entertaining.
The story was entertaining and very well written. The cast of characters full of humour and eccentricities, and not always what they first appear to be. It was easy to fall into the world painted for me. There were a few twist and turns, especially at the end, that made this a very enjoyable story.
Sadly the Dragon is only a passing character. But I still look forward to rejoining Breed on his next adventure. ...more

But mixing it to a shifter just left If this was written with just dragons it might of worked. If it was written with just humans it might of worked. But mixing it to a shifter just left me more confused with each page. It was hard to keep track of when they were in human form, and why they bothered to shift at all.
I had no understanding of who or what was going on. The rulers were not made clear. There were far to many times I stopped reading while I tried to work out what or who something was. Breeders and gelds were used and it wasn't till the end I figured out breeders were human, at least I think they were.
The main story, while simple in itself, became convoluted with each contradiction. The glossary of terms at the end was too little too late. I prefer to be shown while reading how a world works, not given a cheat sheet at the end.
I also felt no real love connection between Alecca and Ciburon , and I at one point felt a stronger conection between Alecca and Kytam, and thought that was where the true love interest lay. But no it was simply the first one Alecca mated with was going to be his love, which kinda ruins the love aspect for me.
A good strong story. Plenty of detail and imagination went into this one.

I did have a few niggles, while I love all powerful Harry, I hate when that power is not consistent. (view spoiler)[ I feel the rape would/should never of happened. (hide spoiler)]
But this is still an interesting read for Harry Potter lovers.

I admit I was a little hesitant as I adored childlike Tori and I honestly wasn't looking forward as much to seeing him grow up. I worried needlessly. Tori was still Tori. He has lost none of his childlike enthusiasm. I loved seeing him and Jerney again. I really hope this is not the last time we see them. I so want another full book with Tori.
The little shorts were all enjoyable. I can already feel a re read coming on from the beginning.

I did feel it tended to drag in the middle with the ending all happening in a rush.
