Knowing there is little chance of survival, Draden decides to take out the terrorist camp. While he is taking out the terrorist camp he gains the notice of someone else on a mission, Shylah (Peonies).
Shylah was sent to take out the doctors that are creating biological weapons when she discovers what has to be one of Whitney’s Ghostwalkers. She is drawn by him and his beauty as he slaughters his way undetected through the terrorist camp. Well, mostly undetected, until an alarm is raised and Draden is injured. Shylah has to decide whether to keep to her mission or rescue Draden. She choice is rescue and inadvertently exposing herself to the biological weapon.
I enjoyed Draden and Shylah story. I loved how Draden went out of his way to do everything he could to make Shylah happy. I did wish there was more of reunion between Shylah and her “sisters” and less repetition on certain plot points. Great urban fantasy read and even though I've enjoy all of Feehan's series, .Ghost Walkers has become my favorite in her works.

Kit has a magical ability with the seas, so being a Captain in the Queen’s fleet suits her perfectly. When the Queen pairs her with a Viscount, Rian, to infiltrate a pirate stronghold to rescue a kidnapped spy, Kit balks. She has been on the wrong side of the upper class’s attitudes and has no desire to deal with one on her ship. But when the fate of her country and home are at stake, they must find a way to work together before they find themselves under an emperor’s rule.
Neill has woven a fabulously enchanting, magical, swashbuckling, fantasy tale that sucks the reader right into the adventure. Captain Kit Brightling is an amazing heroine that surrounds herself with strong and confident family and crew members and I can only say that watching the tenuous relationship between Kit and Rian evolve was simply brilliant.
This is definitely a change from the past Neill storylines but all the sassy, strong characters and adventure that we've come to love are still there. I highly recommend you check it out.

I know I’ve said it before, but it is worth saying again IF NALINI SINGH IS WRITING IT, I’M READING IT.
This is the story of two not so well know characters. Sharine, who is Blue Bell’s mother and had lost herself in her artistic world, for quite some time. And Titus, an Archangel with his own territory, Africa, to protect from the reborn.
Sharine, also known as Hummingbird, is sent to assist Titus. Titus treats her just like everyone else, a fragile being to protect. But little does he know that the Hummingbird has been healing and evolving in her own right and is ready to face the ugly the Archangel of Death and the Archangel of Disease have brought on the world.
Titus soon discovers that together they can accomplish much and that the Hummingbird might just be a match to perfectly complement his powers.
Watching the Hummingbird’s evolve and her relationship with her son, Blue Bell, expand was something I’ve been rooting for since she was introduced. To say I was excited about this book would be an understatement.
The relationship with Titus is slow-growing and gave Sharine the ability to spread her wings and face some that hurt her the worst.

Rapidly deteriorating bodies are discovered at a country music star’s home and everyone that comes in contact with the scene becomes infected as well. A murderer is loose that kills fast and virtually undetectable will stealing the life force of everyone exposed. If that was not enough, PsyLed comes up against a Psy hating FBI agent that will do anything he has to do to attack the PsyLed and its agents.
Faith Hunter wrote another amazing addition to the Soulwood series. I am loving the character growth and development as Hunter masterfully unravels the secrets of Nell’s and her sister’s mysterious classification, the mystery of the spreading life-sucking death and the budding relationship Nell has with Occum. As I mentioned, Nell is no longer a pro-B agent, but their team has added a new pro-B, Margot Racer.
Hunter never disappoints with fast-moving, action-packed, meaty stories that you just can’t wait to sink your reader’s teeth into. The characters become friends and family you want to catch up with and once you do, you are bereft to leave.

Hamilton has made a very bold move, she went back to roots of the original Anita Blake and wrote a strong mystery. The type of mysteries that made me fall in love with the beginnings of the Anita Blake series. I have to admit, I was one of those readers that had become pretty disenchanted by all the self- analyzing and analyzing the psyche of every character in the story without a strong story but I’m excited to say this wasn’t the case…and I was happily pleased.
Anita is called away from her main stomping grounds when she is called in by the U.S. Marshal as a consultant in a tiny community in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A shifter is arrested for a murder and there is suspicion that he was being framed.
Throughout the investigation, Anita calls in for help and Edward comes into the story. Edward's and Anita's dynamics were one of my favorite storylines, so I have to admit this thrilled me…And then Olaf “the serial killer” – US Marshall – recently turned lion shifter stalks in. This is where it gets VERY creepy and if Anita goes there, I have to say this series will completely lose me! But for now, he (Olaf) is playing nice and assists investigation.
In the end, this was rather good like for me, 3.5. LKH went back to the roots of the storytelling and even though I am not a fan of Olaf and no matter how you spin it a serial killer will be a serial killer, I enjoyed this installment of the Anita Blake series.

Alex Craft is now the lead in the Fae Investigation Bureau. Finding herself investigating an explosion that threatens the Fae world, Alex struggles to find her footing while completely cut off from her allies and friends.
I must admit, I was a bit surprised by the direction Price took with Grave War. Alex spent a large portion of this book away from her gang. I guess my expectations did not even come close to the character growth I have come to expect from Alex and her decision making. In the end, it just didn’t grab me like the other books in this series did. 3.5 stars
I’m sad this run is over. I did really enjoy the ride. I am glad I went along for Alex Craft’s story.

When he finally asks Scarlet out the connection is immediate and they both see it, but Scarlet has secrets too and now the Torpedo Ink will do whatever it takes to give Absinthe the woman of his dreams and make Scarlet’s troubles disappear.
I appreciate the imagination used in the creation of this story. I liked that Scarlet was doing whatever it took to get revenge on the persons who caused her pain. There is an uncomfortable element of abuse, lots of cringy moments and I must admit I skimmed over their “kink” as much as possible because I didn’t care… There were a lot of kink moments, entire chapters, and it still kept going and going. For me, Desolation Road needed more balance, I was good with the overall story, it just got bogged down by the highly descriptive kink, that I really cared less about, which disconnected me from the characters.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to see the new adventures play out and to rejoin this world for a little while.
In The Queen’s Bargain, Bishop continues with her multiple points of view narrations. It gives you a chance to see everyone’s perspective and here is the but; But, I really had a hard time with Surreal. And, maybe, even a little bit of problems with Surreal and Daemon. You know when you get to the point when you want to scream at a book’s character for being dumb, yeah, I got to that point with Daemon but especially Surreal.

I really enjoyed the story right up until about 60% in. Once that happened it really didn’t compute for me. I mean there were cute moments, but it wasn’t based on anything beyond the surface. There were a bunch of things thrown at us that just didn’t make sense for the character’s that had been developing up until the 60% point.
