Rereading this was a breeze. Just one of few books that has me so engaged from the beginning, that it was so hard putting it down each time. A piece of timeless literary fiction that really reflects the reality of some Australians--Australian-borns, Second Generation Migrants, One and a Half Generation Migrants, etc. This was the first book I ever TRULY connected with the main character and felt, 'yes, this is how I feel a lot'. It's not just a book of contemporary YA fiction, it's a reflection of reality. And I loved it. I loved seeing Josie grow, experience and deal with her family as well as school life. Marchetta does it brilliantly--connecting Josie to all the characters in her stories, building her relationship between them and also having plenty of humour to go with it that doesn't sound weird! (there are plenty of YA novels where the humour seems askew and while funny--odd.)...more

What I did remember was that it was a great book, funny and interesting. I was a little hesitant at reading this sequel but I was so glad when I did. It was just as good as I remembered the first to be. I liked that Ginny doesn't immediately accept as Oliver as the hot new guy around. I like that there is that tension because of what Oliver did.
The Last Little Blue Envelope is the kind of book I enjoy reading. There's adventure, a little love, discovery and humour. Of all of Maureen Johnson's novels this was one of my favourites alongside The Key to the Golden Firebird, Thirteen Little Blue Envelopes, Girl at Sea and The Bermudez Triangle...more

Believe me Ally Carter hadn't really sold me on the first one or the second or the third. I guess because primarily they weren't quite heavy enough for me.
But this one. This one was good. I love that Cammie forgets. I really love how she struggles to regain that memory. As well as see how strong her relationships with her friends and family. It was really sweet. Ms Carter really had me on this one. For once I can say I cannot wait for the next one no because I'm determined to finish any series I come across but because I actually want to read it!

I can't remember why, i just remember that it was an interesting fascinating read, especially one about a heist performed by teenagers. The stuff of movies and stories.
But this one, this one, fell way below my expectations. I was actually quite disappointed. Everything seemed like a mess. Kat seemed as though she'd gone backward rather than forward. If she was on a stealing high shouldn't she have seemed more egotistic rather than the way she'd been portrayed?
The first one an amazingly written and created story. I liked the characters as I liked them in this one. And I thought Hale and Kat were finally a couple? What did she do?
I can't say I disliked the whole novel, I did find the heist as clever as the one in the first book so that's certainly a bonus, but other than that, that's it. ...more
