There are some books that are just a bit to spicy for me and I have to pass but that is not a bad thing. This book is a nice complement to her catalogue.
There was action, danger, and sex. I hope this becomes a series because I want to know more about Lexington and Anthony. I also want to know more about Frederick. I think knowing more about why he is so pressed about being able to walk in the daylight is interesting. I do understand that not all books should have a followup or there should be a series but a girl can wish and dream....more

I didn't know what to a spect only because Raff is the quiet one. I knew that he would have to find an outgoing woman who is 100% okay with his past life being in assassin.
I enjoyed it Lily so much. She accepted all that Raff is in did not judge him at all. Yes, he did save her for being a sex worker, however she did not feel beholden to him.
Wrath is a tortured hero and I already love that type of male. He has been through so much and I am glad that we got to more of his background versus the glimpses we get in others people story. I am really looking forward with continuing this series and I am really excited to meet Cathian's brothers.
I really want to meet Raff's father as well. We have heard all about him but we have not been introduced it to him. I also wish that Lily's family decides to leave Earth so that they can join Lily and Raff on The Vorge. She is the only one that still has family alive and I would hate for her not to have them consistently in her life....more

It follows Meli, an assassin, who has been killing for her family for the last couple of years. She is trying to live her best life and enjoy retirement until her brother contacts her and ask her if she can do one more job for the family. She just wants to live her life but she gets that her family is her family and she is willing to take the job. The only thing is she didn't realize that the job will be the one that set her on the course to be an assassin.
Celino was betrothed to Meli however he felt as though he did not need his life dictated. So he ended up walking away and ruining Meli's life. When he finally meets her again he does not realize that she is the same person who he ended up crushing many years prior. Meli decides that she wants to get even and make sure that he feels the same way as she felt.
I like the fact that in the end they both realized that they belong with one another. However, I did not like the fact that the story ended abruptly. I would like to know what ends up happening with Meliand Celino. Did he go back to running his family company, did they end up getting married, and did they in up having kids? These are the questions that I want to know....more

It is not because I did not like Gin and co but because of the repetitive when it comes to certain scenes. For example when Owen and Gin have sex, Gin always talks about being on the 'little white pill', I get it you are making sure you do not get pregnant. When a character has sex multiple times throughout the book and the same sentence is mentioned over and over again it makes you want to skip that scene all together. I hate skimming through books but sometimes it is needed. Now that I have come back to this series the same issues I had with this book still applies howeverJennifer Estep has tone done that same sentence dramatically.
I forgot how much I missed Gin as a character. I love her humor and I love the fact that she is loyal. At times she is loyal to a fault and that makes me believe that something is going to happen to the point where it comes back to bit her in the ass. I loved this installment of this series. I am glad that the world is expanding and there are more characters that are being introduced.
A couple of issues I had with this story is that Gin was fighting a Metal Elemental and she has metal in her palm but he was not able to use it against her. How is that possible? I think that there were some inconsistent in the book but I am okay with that since the whole time I had no idea whom to trust. I was not expecting the twist that we was revealed in the end.
I am looking forward to the next book and I cannot wait to see how this new character changes the dynamical between Gin and her family and friends. ...more

I know that some people do not like her writing style at times but I love thw sarcasm, the puns, and the innuendos that she puts within her writing. This story did not disappoint at all. I enjoy that Jax 🦘and I enjoyed Mari. I loved their own inner thoughts. Mari was the funnier of the two to me.
Mari is running around in her Ostrich form lost and having no idea how she escapes and why there is blood all around her. Jax is just trying to get paid. He does not listen to Mari which got annoying at times. Their whole adventure was great and I loved Jax's finally. I do know that his brother, Jeb, in 'Roo and the Angel. I hope to see a lot more of the Jones family.
I am also happy Miranda appeared. She is my favorite character of this series!! 🐇...more

However, I do not know what made me take so long to start listening to this book. I think part of me knew that there was only two more books left within the two series and I did not want it to end. Suzanne Wright however, let us know that there will be a spin-off that deals with Mila's family and also the kids a big grown up. I am very excited because all the kids that have a distinct personality and I cannot wait to see what antics they get into.
Now to the review:
Throughout this entire series Dominic has been the one to hit on everybody's mate. It does not matter if the wolf or the shifter is stronger than him he likes to have fun. So it only makes sense for him to find a mate that find his Antics funny but let him know that the flirting that he used to do would not happen. He worked to get Mila and I am glad that she did not give him an inch. Especially since her predestined mate was not the smartest tool in the shed.
I am very happy that his mate is a pallas cat. I love those cats and they don't mess around. I slove the fact that her parents were two different breeds of shifters and that her mother's animal is a wolverine. The interactions she had with her brother was hilarious to me and that made me laugh out loud. ...more

I have been always curious about her and how she got at the facility. At first I believed that she was an alien but then come to find out she is human. It was an interesting twist. We meet her when is plays music to Abbey to keep her calm. Noa is such a fascinating character. Her background is different but the way she goes through life currently is a bit depressing. I get back to her in a bit.
Ashrael is someone who has intrigued me from the beginning. Being called a Silent One is some serious business. You do not get that name unless you have gone through some things.
The chemistry between the two was just okay. Noa to me felt a bit to needy. She was easily overwhelmed with everything and everyone. I understand there are a lot of issues that she had to deal with but for me she just needed to stop complaining and start doing. The fact it took her to find a man, I hate when a heroine has to find a man to be strong and complete, just to get a bit of control was sad.
The back story and all the different adventures was great. There are so many questions that I wanted answered that I did not get but that is okay. The ending left a lot to be desired however. I do not understand how Noa can just go back to her life after all she has been through. It does not seem as though she has coped with all she has gone through. But yet she is back living her old life. It is as though the past year has meant nothing. ...more

She freaked out about everything. I cannot understand a character who thinks just because someone is alien that it is okay to be afraid. This book gave me the vibes of people who see a different skin color and they automatically treat that person as though they are other.
Kail is someone who has been the Grim Reaper in his society. He is the only that will hand out justice and he guards himself that he does not have to emotions when he has to do his job.
There were times where I thought that Kail was too good for Riana. She treated him with disdain at times even after they started to do things with one another. When she spoke about him in her head she had to fight not only the fear when it came to him but also who he was. Kail is someone that let it be known throughout the story but it seemed to only matter when he is trying to protect Riana.
I enjoyed Riana's bother and I wanted to know more him and his story. I also wanted to know more about his wife and how they met. He came across as aloof at times but I think that he acted that way so no one would be on guard around him.
Jillian Macie for me did not do a very good job narrating. I felt as though the book was dragging along. Her pacing was very slow and I could not get into this book. In the previous books I really enjoyed the narration but in this it just seemed ugh.
I love this series and it sucks that I did not like this. This to me gave me a filler book vibe and it could have been half the length that it was. ...more
