The story itself was not bad however I did listen to the audiobook and the narrator had me confused at times. I don't know if it's the way that he narrated the story or the way that this book was written but it seemed as though there were no breaks within the story itself.
I have this thing about a book or a story in which everything seems to run on. It's like there aren't any paragraph breaks and the story is one big long run-on sentence. There were times where they were in the bedroom and then within the same breath they are in the arena. I have no idea how they got there but one minute they were enjoying themselves in bed in the next there were playing against one another. Again I don't know if it is the author or if it's the narrator but it threw me off completely while trying to get through this book.
Lane is a fresh I'd 19 year old when we are first introduced to him. He is super awkward and just overall cute. Jared is in his early thirties and he has been playing professional hockey for a very long time. He has lost the love for the game and he is just ready to get everything over with. When he meets Lane everything changes for him. I love the way they met and their very first interaction with one another.
Lane at times was oblivious to feelings and emotions of individuals but that is what made him likeable. The fact that Jared never tried to change Lane was very endearing. I did like the ending of this book and I wish that most of the players that Jared and Lane played with got to go to the NHL butt I know that that does not happen in real life.
I'm very excited to see how Lane and Jared's teammates fair in the upcoming books. I really hope that we get to see and know more about Zoe, Lane's best friend. I want to know if she stays with the hockey player or if she decides that she cannot be a part of that world. I am also interested in Riley, the goalie and also the new player that joined the Jacksonville team. I hope we get to see some of the players from Savannah as well....more

I enjoyed this book. When we are first introduced to Cole he came across as this overly conceited individual. Little did we know that there was much more to him than what everybody thought. Piper is a single mom trying to take care of her daughter Rose. Her father and her baby daddy are two useless men within this book.
The first interaction between Cole and Piper was to say the least a bit tumultuous. Their relationship had a lot of good banter and a lot of funny moments within it. As the story progresses we see that Cole is much more than what was initially described. He is sweet, sensitive, and loves hard. The interaction he has with Rosie, Piper's daughter, is so sweet. At first he is just a typical male not knowing exactly how to take care of a baby but as the story progresses you see that the relationship grows between the two.
At times Cole was your typical brooding, self-deprecating hero. We never really got to find out about his past and why he referred to as 'The Beast' 👹. That is my only issue with this book. I love the interaction with Piper and Cole and I am glad that we got a cute epilogue in the end....more

I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was. When we first Beau and Ashton they are graduating high school and a kiss happens when inhibitions were lowered. To bad for Beau after that kiss Ashton left and he was left to figure out himself alone.
Fast froward 10 years later and Ashton is back in town still as cocky as ever. I loved all the people in Beau's life, his baby brother, his mom, and all his friends. He found a great support system when he realized he was gay and for me that meant a lot that Riley Hart did that.
When Ashton comes into town he is lonely and decides to latch onto Beau. From his point of view we know Ashton always had Beau on the pedestal but Beau felt as though Ashton was just being annoying. I loved the relationship they had with one another. Their romance felt organic and not thrown together like so many mm stories are. I really want to know more abut Lincoln, Beau's bff. He seems like a great character.
Michael Pauley is just wonderful as ever. I love his voices. ...more

Sunny and Max were very cute together I loved their first encounter with one another. You could tell they were destined to be together even then. There was a bit of drama within this book. Max is someone who knows what he wants and does whatever it takes to accomplish that goal even if it means hurting someone he cares about. Unlike other heroes he understands what he did wrong and tries to fix his mistake. There are a couple of crazy people in book which has you a bit on edge trying to figure out what will happen next. ...more
