It's rare that I read something with so much attention, but this book commands it. I didn't skim it for plot, as I normally do. I read each word, so it took me longer to read it, but it was worth it. Many tightly woven plot lines, likeable characters, and hockey. Did I mention that yet? SL combines hockey, Michigan and scandal. I was thinking about the plot still in the shower this morning after finishing it. Just a great, engrossing book. I think reading it in the winter would somehow be most fitting....more

This reminded me of the story in "The House on Mango Street" when she talks about having a birthday, but still having all those other ages inside of her. It was very interesting and sort of heavy handed at the end, but I liked the premise....more
