I like the dynamics between Maybell and Wesley, this is my favorite strangers-to-lovers book I’ve read so far. I felt like they really got to know each other. When I was finishing the book at first, I was like ‘WHERE IS THE REST OF THE ROMANCE????’, because even though we saw them interact a good amount, there aren’t a lot of ’typical’ romantic scenes in the book. It slightly bothered me at first but now that a little time has passed, I realize that this is why I like this book so much. By the end of the story, you can clearly tell that the character like each other, they’ve fallen in love with each other but they’re very clearly at the start of their relationship. The love declaration is very touching and cute but it isn’t overly dramatic. I didn’t feel like (uhh you only met two months ago and this feels a bit much but okay…), I fully understood their dynamics and it was clear that their relationship had just started blossoming. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Sarah Hogle has a new book coming out in May 2022 and I can’t WAIT for that one....more
**spoiler alert** I did not want to this book to end. This is the first second-chance romance I’ve read and now I want to read more books like this. T**spoiler alert** I did not want to this book to end. This is the first second-chance romance I’ve read and now I want to read more books like this. The reviews called this book a romcom and they’re so right. I never audibily laugh from books but this book has gotten me close a few times. I love the little feminist jokes Naomi makes and I love the fact that she thinks she’s a great actress until she realizes she’s not. I also love the fact that Nicholas is a complete mama’s boy in the beginning and prioritzes Deborah over Naomi but as the book goes on he starts to put his fiancé first and establishes boundaries with his mother. I love the little drops of jealousy in the book. It’s just enough to scratch that itch but not too much where it’s disrespectful or untasteful. I saved some quotes from this book because I was swooning throughout the story. I would’ve loved to see a few chapters in Nicky’s perspective because it would’ve heartbreaking at first but absolutely ADORABLE by the end. I still have a smile on my face after finishing the book and I found three fanfics of about 1K that I’m going to read soon. I’m reading Twice Shy after this because it’s been recommened A LOT in the Romance Book subreddit so now that I’ve had a taste of Sarah Hogle, I WANT MORE. Another note: I love the fact that they combined their last names into one. (Nicholas Rose+ Naomi Westfield = Nicholas and Naomi Rosefield)....more

I'm usually always rooting for the main couple, I always want them to end together. This is the first book where I would've enjoyed the ending more if the mmc had ended up alone or with someone else. Millie was just too childish for me and I didn't feel the chemistry between her and Reid. At some Reid says that he wants Millie and loves her, I found myself wondering what on earth he saw in her....more
