I'll be quick because I have another book to read lol.
This is a dual romance story. A second chance for Abe and Janie and an enemies to lovers for Renner and Tierny.
And frankly, I think it was a bit too heavy on erotica for my liking. Especially for Abe and Janie. Plus, Janie was such a selfish bitch I honestly think Abe deserves better. Plus, the stalker motive was kinda swept under a rug so that was disappointing.
And Abe's kink for threesome? Sorry, not my jam.
I didn't like their story.
But Tierny and Renner? OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!
All in all, Abe's and Janie's story - 2 stars Renner and Tierney? 5+ stars Hence the 3.5 rounded up to 4.
I'm not sure how I feel about Celia and if I wanna read her book because I honestly wasn't her fan in this one. She sounded too immature and annoying so I'm kinda hesitant about book 4. But we'll see....more
I've noticed that Jessa Kane decided to take her normal JK OTT level into a higher, more ridonculous one. Not only with the hero, n1.5, maybe 2 stars
I've noticed that Jessa Kane decided to take her normal JK OTT level into a higher, more ridonculous one. Not only with the hero, na-ah. The heroines and the plot are on OTT steroids as well. Plus, that annoying Daddy kink isn't helping. And tbh I am not a fan of any of that stuff.
Every time I read a chapter with our dumber than dumb heroine, my face automatically went like this:
Only to turn into this...:
... after the amount of stupidity that comes from Fawn every time she opens her mouth. Srsly, that amount of density can't be explained with logic or anything I know.
I did like Benny, the giant hero. But Fawn sucked the big one.
All in all, not my cup of tea. I struggled a lot here. I didn't like the ending and I barely finished. I think I might be done with JK. At least for now.
Got bored outta my mind at around 60% and skimmed through the rest.
I love me some OTT hero but...well, within reason.
Here eve2 stars, maybe 2.5

I love me some OTT hero but...well, within reason.
Here everything is just waaaaaaay too much, too fast, too ridonculous.
Not only in case of Teddy Xavier, our hero. I love it when the protective and possessive side of a hero is so exaggerated. But here, everything was just blown out of proportions.
Plus, Iris, our mousey heroine, didn't help things either. She was supposed to be innocent and naive but to me she sounded stupid and childish.
Also, the daddy kink ain't my jam, especially when we talk about two college kids. That was just wrong.
I liked the grovel by the end, that was really good but the sagging middle syndrome almost lulled me to sleep lol.
But the story is pretty dec3.5 stars

But the story is pretty decent. And I liked the heroine.
All in all, this wasn't my fave from Banks but it was a nice read. I already read the other books from the series and I liked the second book the most. But this one is quite good as well.
I kinda liked it. Ok, I really liked it. Some parts more, some less. 3.5 stars
But I'm rounding it up to 4.
Wanna know why?
Because I'm such a ...

I kinda liked it. Ok, I really liked it. Some parts more, some less.
First off, I did love the OTT hero, Arsen. He was such a cutie pie.
I wasn't a fan of the heroine, Marina. She was a sweet girl and quite likeable but a bit too weak for my liking. Saying one thing and doing the other, avoiding communication? Say what u want. That's a weak character.
So yeah.
Not exactly my cuppa.
I still don't know how I feel about Nico and Sophie here.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Until Nico and I did love them here, but since I know they weren't a product of their madre aka Aurora R.R., it kinda felt like reading a fanfic. And I dunno how I feel about that.
But to be fair, that didn't affect my rating at all here. Because like I said before, they were the cutest couple ever, just as I wanna remember them.
The lacking star is mainly for the instalove, that didn't work for me here, not much depth or character development, way too much inner dialogue instead of them interacting, some missing words and mistakes in general.
But the story is cute. Short and cute. And I inhaaled it. It wasn't very original but I don't care and I'll still read the other books from the series. The side characters are cutesy as hell. And I need to read Kol's story asap lol.
So first off, it's a story of Kol and Thea. They meet at the end of book 1 if I remember correctly. Kol,3 stars
I liked it but I didn't love it.
So first off, it's a story of Kol and Thea. They meet at the end of book 1 if I remember correctly. Kol, Arsen and Ember are siblings and this series is about them.
Sooo...
Thea is a girl on the run. She was raped by her stepfather when she was 15, and another time at 16. After trying to get help and being ignored (her stepfather is a v. influential fucker) she has had enough and so after 2 failed suicide attempts, she fakes her own death and runs away. And stays in hiding, living under her great grandma's last name, making a very modest living by working in a coffee shop (or sth, don't remember). She is Ember's friend and that's how she and Kol know each other.
And when the story picks up, one year after their meeting, Kol's already in love with her, and he bumps into her in the said coffee shop. And before they even start talking, Kol already knows this girl has been through some serious shit, he can see her pain, he knows how much she's hurting and how shut down to the world she is. Let's all remember, they met once, had one small talk and they haven't seen one another for a year. And so I was like:
So, they talk for a few seconds, she is all scared and withdrawn but he goes all alpha on her and takes her number so she couldn't run away again. And their relationship took off too quickly for my liking. There is a lot of hesitance from Thea, a lot of doubts, self hate and generally a pretty depressing picture when it comes to her character. And tbh I didn't really like her character. Because despite this whole trauma that we learn from the get-go, Thea comes across as pretty naive and quite one-dimensional.
Why?
Because one kiss from Kol makes her suddenly believe in herself. One touch of his magic penis and all of a sudden our girl is full of love, her past is behind her and she is ready to face the evil Richard, aka the rapist stepfather.
And I was like:
That was the reason why I didn't enjoy this book as much as I hoped I would. I did love Kol. He was a sweetheart. But I just didn't get their connection. Because they just don't know much about each other when they profess their love. There's not enough interaction between them to make that change in Thea or their love believable.
I did love the idea the author had for this book but it would've been so much better were that a full-length. Where I could observe their feelings bloom, and see and understand the change in Thea instead of being told what happened.
Hence the missing 2 stars.
But I liked it anyway and I will read book 3 so fingers crossed. :)
The OTT hero was exactly what I was in a mood for. I need to read more from this author. I took away one star not for the in4 stars
So much cuteness...
The OTT hero was exactly what I was in a mood for. I need to read more from this author. I took away one star not for the instalove (ikr!) but for the time frame that was way too short for my liking. All in all, I really liked this one. It was the cutest thing ever.
This is a clean romance with no sex or smut. So clearly NOT for me. There should be a warning since categorizing it as harlequine might be confusing to This is a clean romance with no sex or smut. But to be frank? It was frustrating2.5 but I'm rounding it up to 3 stars.
Because ...Martin Sandeke.
I'm completely and utterly in love with him.
But to be frank? It was frustrating and kinda boring for like 85%.
You see, I also have a rule. Maybe not a life rule but deffo a reading rule:
If you can't tell me the story of a couple in one book, don't say it at all.
You see, I have read my fair share of trilogies (of the same couple) and the ones I finished and actually enjoyed can be counted on the fingers of one hand. I don't mind duets, though, when done right naturally.
And this trilogy should've been a standalone or maybe a duet. And this book should've been reduced to 50 or so pages without this whole unnecessary drama and complete lack of communication that was spread to the maximum and used as a plot device. Because that was one of the most frustrating things I've read in a while. And I don't appreciate it.
I also was disappointed with Kaitlyn's character. She was presumably a highly intelligent, talented girl. And yet in this book she was acting like a complete moron. Why? Well, she was the one who avoided any kind of confrontation, she was a coward and pretty selfish. I really couldn't stand how she created problems in her head and then transferred them into reality. Problems which didn't exist. Plus, here we have a lot of dull filler chapters of her interactions with Sam, who frankly speaking, brought absolutely nothing to the story.
Also, what deserves a slap is her mother's attitude. She's still a cold-hearted cunt who cares only about her career. I did appreciate the fact that Kate finally stood up to her in the very last chapter but come on, did I really need those other 200+ pages for that?
The biggest star on the entire trilogy is my new boo, Martin Sandeke. I absolutely loooooved his character. But that's not a big surprise since I love me a broody fucked-up hero with a plan. I really really do. And he did deliver.
All in all, did I enjoy this book? Not so much. But I did love the two others. This one was too boring and too frustrating. I did love Martin and Kaitlyn together but her character wasn't as developed over the books as I hoped it would be. Do I recommend the series? I'd say go for it. You'll definitely love book 1 and 2. Not so sure about this one. But still worth reading.
I'm still Martin Sandeke's team. And Senator Parker can go suck a lemon.
I know it's an unpopular opinion but I need to get it off my ches4 - 4.5 stars

I know it's an unpopular opinion but I need to get it off my chest before I explode. * * * * [image]
Ok, so now that I'm better, let's call a spade a spade here.
Her mother is a cold, manipulative cunt who is even worse than Martin's evil father. There, I said it. Because Matin's father doesn't try to pretend he is something else. Something we deffo can't say about her mother. Under the facade of a good civilian, the good senator, she is a cold, selfish bitch, more interested in her own career than her daughter's life. We got a glimpse of their dysfunctional family dynamic in the first book, how everything is scheduled, how there are no emotions or no room for passion. How every single thing in Kaitlyn's life is not only monitored but completely supervised by her mother, well, through her assistant or during scheduled phone conferences. How all Kaitlyn's issues with trust, with opening up to people, issues with communication somehow lead to her mother. Her cold-hearted, selfish mother.
I know Kaitlyn loves her but I don't think she really sees her mother's true colours. And that did frustrate me. A lot.
Especially at the end when she demanded from her daughter to break things off with Martin since it would have a negative impact on her career. I seriously wanted to slap that bitch.
And I don't agree with Kaitlyn's way of thinking or her actions here. I don't think she had the right to demand from Martin to change his plans, something he worked on his entire life. Nope. She had no right to do that because that was extremely selfish of her. And I really don't understand why everyone says he was in the wrong here. Nope. That's just not true.
All in all, I'm giving it 4 stars because despite the fact I just couldn't unglue myself from the book, some elements annoyed the crap outta me, Now off to book 3. I truly hope things will work out....more
That was short, steamy and so darn cute I just can't!! I freaking loved it!
There were only two things that bugged me. One was the 4 - 4.5 stars
That was short, steamy and so darn cute I just can't!! I freaking loved it!

There were only two things that bugged me. One was the lack of communication but tbh that wasn't a big issue for me here. Because Cash Smith was such a sweetheart, I honestly inhaled this book in one sitting!
The other one was the last scene when they make up. I wanted sth sweet and cute and not another round of rough banging. Hence the missing star. But all in all I still loved it!
Highly recommend to fans of loner, virgin heroes, a marriage of convenience and those who like things cute and steamy at the same time. Will deffo read other books in the series.
