Pourtant, malgré ça, je continue de l'aimer et j'ai vraiment été très fière de son évolution. La dernière partie du livre était bien plus intéressante et j'aurais aimé passer plus de temps avec cette version plus mature de Nevio.
Quant à Aurora, je me suis beaucoup attachée à elle et elle m'a beaucoup fait penser à Aria dans sa douceur et sa loyauté. Certains pourront lui reprocher de ne pas avoir assez de caractère et de dire oui trop facilement à tout, mais ça ne m'a pas dérangé.
Ensuite, vient Carlotta et Massimo qui sont pour moi les stars de ces livres. J'ai adoré leur dynamique et la manière dont Massimo est très protecteur vis-à-vis de la jeune fille. Carlotta est une très bonne amie et j'ai adoré sa personnalité. De même, Massimo est un Nino 2.0 et j'ai immédiatement succombé à son charme. J'attends avec tellement d'impatience leur livre et j'espère que leur relation ne sera pas ruinée par la suite. Petite mention aussi pour Alessio qui est également un coup de cœur. On apprend qu'il connaît son passé et que ça l'affecte d'une certaine manière, ce qui me donne là aussi une envie folle de découvrir son livre.
Les Falcone sont une safe place pour moi et je suis fan de tous leurs passages ensemble. Clairement, je pourrais lire 600 pages de moments domestiques sans aucun problème. La première génération des Falcone/Scuderi est toujours aussi soudée et j'ai trouvé qu'ils étaient tous de très bons parents.
Maintenant, parlons du sujet qui fâche. Ce n'est pas normal en 2024 de continuer à écrire des scènes de viol sans aucun TW . L'une se passe alors que le personnage est alcoolisé au point de ne même pas tenir debout et la deuxième se passe alors que l'un des personnages dort. Le pire étant que les personnages sont au courant de leurs actes et qu'il y a une tentative de justification lamentable. L'histoire de Nevio et Aurora n'avait pas besoin de ça et il y a d'autres plots twists plus intéressants à développer. Je ne comprends pas comment l'autrice a pu écrire ça et penser que ça allait passer alors que l'on dénonce ce type d'acte tous les jours sur les réseaux sociaux.

À chaque fois, j'ai adoré les livres de cet univers, mais je pense que celui-ci était le tome de trop. Quant à Monsieur, c'est juste un énorme red flag ambulant. Je ne compte même plus les mauvaises décisions qu'il a prises et je ne comprends pas comment Milene accepte tout ça sans broncher.
Premièrement, quelle idée d'envoyer des centaines de fleurs anonymement et de rentrer en secret dans l'appartement d'une femme qui lui a confié avoir un stalker ? Sans oublier que Salvatore se comporte lui-même en stalker en plaçant des caméras chez elle et en l'observant toute la journée. Ensuite, on a bien sûr tous les : tu n'as pas le droit de sortir, tu dois m'appeler toutes les heures, mets ces vêtements et cette bague avec un trackeur gps intégré, ne parles à aucun homme. Par contre, il y avait beaucoup trop de scènes de sexe qui prenaient de la place pour rien. Luca et Isabella ont aussi des kinks assez particuliers, et je dois dire que certaines scènes m'ont laissé perplexes.
En général, je ne suis pas du tout fan du memory loss, mais ici, l'autrice est parvenue à créer une dynamique assez intéressante. Il y a pas mal de pistes à explorer, notamment avec les anciens coéquipiers de Sergei et j'aimerais beaucoup voir un spin-off sur eux.
Jusque-là, chaque livre mettait en avant un handicap et comme je l'ai déjà dit dans ma chronique du premier tome, c'est vraiment hyper intéressant de voir de la représentation dans des romances mafias. C'est d'ailleurs la première fois où je lis une saga dans laquelle cette représentation occupe une part si importante dans chaque livre. Cette fois, on traite des troubles du stress post-traumatique et ça ajoute un côté très intéressant à l'histoire.
Sur la relation entre Angelina et Sergei, j'ai beaucoup aimé leur complicité. Par contre, une fois la relation installée, il y avait beaucoup trop de scènes de sexe. L'action finale aurait pu être mieux maîtrisée si elle avait davantage duré dans le temps.

Concernant Greta, c'est un personnage particulièrement intéressant par sa vision du monde. J'ai aimé sa douceur, son calme et ses émotions très profondes. Il n'y a pas de mots assez forts pour décrire l'amour entre les membres des Falcone et j'ai beaucoup aimé ses échanges avec Nino, Nevio ou ses parents. En général, je ne suis pas fan du tout du "love at first sight". Pourtant, Amo et Greta et leur alchimie incroyable ont réussi à ce que ça fonctionne pour moi.
Amo est un personnage adorable et mon amour pour lui n'a fait que se renforcer. J'ai adoré sa personnalité et sa passion, ainsi que le fait d'être prêt à tout sacrifier pour Greta. Là encore, les Vitiello sont assez présents et j'ai adoré voir les différents liens entre eux.
En rentrant dans cette saga, j'avais peur de la manière dont les anciens personnages seraient écrits, d'autant plus que j'avais vu beaucoup de personnes être déçues de l'écriture de la première génération des Falcone. De mon côté, je n'ai pas été déçu. Oui, il y a des conflits, oui, il y a des décisions mauvaises et oui autant Luca que Remo ne sont pas les meilleurs parents du monde dans ce tome. Pourtant, tout ce que je retiens, c'est la force de l'amour pour leurs enfants. Pour moi, la chose à retenir, ce ne sont pas leurs erreurs, mais la manière dont il tente de les réparer plus tard.
Contrairement à beaucoup de livres de Cora Reilly, l'intrigue n'est pas centrée à 100% sur la romance. On a quelques miettes sur Maximus/Sara que l'on explorera probablement dans un futur livre. On a des informations sur les conflits au sein de la Famiglia et surtout, on a un peu d'action et un plot twist que je m'étais fait spoiler et pourtant, j'ai quand même été choquée !
Réunir les Falcone et les Vitiello dans une même famille est la meilleure décision au monde et je rêve d'une nouvelle où on les verrait juste fêter Noël tous ensemble. Maintenant, je n'ai plus qu'à attendre la sortie du livre sur Nevio et Aurora et je compte déjà les jours !

Par le passé, j'ai souvent été déçue de la manière dont ces personnages sont écrits et j'ai du mal à retrouver leur personnalité que j'ai tant aimé.
C'est sans doute pour cette raison que j'ai attendu aussi longtemps avant de me lancer dans ce premier tome. Mon amour premier reste les Falcone, mais je suis également très attachée aux Vitiellos et j'ai ressenti énormément de bonheur de les retrouver. Contrairement à ce que je craignais, Aria et Luca sont très bien écrits. On ressent encore leur amour et leur connexion après toutes ces années et ce sont de très bons parents. D'ailleurs, je ne pensais pas que Luca serait autant dans la communication et dans la compréhension vis-à-vis de ses enfants et ça a été très agréable.
Concernant l'intrigue, je ne suis pas fan du trope kidnapping. Cependant, j'ai trouvé que c'était bien maitrisé et j'ai aimé que cette fois, on se penche sur le cas des bikers. Marcella est un personnage très froid et distant, mais au cœur énorme. Je l'ai trouvé vraiment attachante et j'ai absolument adoré sa force de caractère, ainsi que l'amour inconditionnel qu'elle porte à sa famille. Maddox est une très bonne découverte et j'ai trouvé leur relation hyper intéressante, d'autant plus que je ne m'attendais pas à cette tournure. Finalement, c'est un premier tome réussi et j'ai hâte de lire la suite.

Encore une fois, tous les moments avec les Falcone en famille sont incroyables et m'ont beaucoup touché. J'adore le lien qui existe entre Adamo et Kiara depuis leur première rencontre. Quant à Dinara, c'est un excellent ajout à la dynamique des Falcone.
Son histoire personnelle m'a beaucoup émue et j'ai adoré sa relation avec Adamo. Par contre, leur relation est trop rapide au départ.
J'avais peur de ne pas apprécié le livre vu que l’histoire se déroule loin de Las Vegas et donc loin du manoir Falcone (aka mon endroit favoris), mais en réalité, j’ai été assez intéressée par ma lecture.

Sans surprise c’est un énorme coup de cœur ! On continue de suivre Kiara dans sa guérison psychologique et j’ai adoré le fait que ce ne soit pas seulement réservé au premier livre. La jeune fille fait des progrès incroyables et j’ai une immense fierté pour elle.
Les Falcone sont devenus ma famille préférée et j’ai adoré le lien qu’ils ont tous créé avec Kiara, surtout Remo. Je suis amoureuse de tous les moments calmes avec la famille au manoir. Nevio et Greta emmènent une nouvelle dynamique hyper intéressante et j’adore l’énergie chaotique du petit garçon.
Pour le reste, la relation entre Nino et Kiara est toujours aussi magnifique et incroyable. Ils sont et resteront probablement mon couple favoris de l’univers et je suis vraiment triste de quitter leurs points de vue. Bound by Duty a été l'une de mes meilleures lectures de la saga pendant longtemps. Pourtant, après avoir passé autant de temps avec les Vitiello, puis avec les Falcone, je n'avais pas forcément envie de retourner dans l'Ouftit, surtout qu'en dehors de Valentina, il n'y avait pas vraiment de personnages qui m'intéressaient.
J'ai beaucoup aimé découvrir la personnalité de Leonas et d'Anna ainsi que la nouvelle dynamique de la famille. Dante et Valentina restent un couple très soudé malgré les épreuves et c'est touchant. Par contre, j'ai eu l'impression que ce livre n'est qu'une répétition de tous les précédents livres. À titre d'exemple, je ne vois pas l'intérêt de revenir sur les évènements de Bound by Duty. Certes, la vision de Dante est intéressante, mais elle aurait dû être incluse dans le premier livre et non pas dans celui-ci.
Pareil, une grande partie du livre n'est qu'une réecriture de Twisted Pride. La réaction de la famille Mione m'a brisé le cœur et j'ai apprécié que Valentina soit la seule à remettre en cause les agissements de son propre clan, là où tous les membres de l'Outfit pensent être supérieurs. Dans Twisted Pride, j'ai eu beaucoup de mal avec les réactions de l'Outfit qui agissent par fierté, sans même prendre en considération la volonté de Serafina. Ce livre ne fait que renforcer mon sentiment.
Avec tout ça, la relation de Valentina et Dante passe au second plan et ce n'est pas ce que j'imaginais. Il y avait quand même des moments intéressants et mignons, mais ils étaient trop peu par rapport à tout ce que l'on connaissait de l'histoire.

Pour commencer, j'avoue ne pas avoir été fan de la partie kidnapping, même si l'histoire reste très soft pour de la dark romance. Cependant, j'ai été impressionnée par la force et la résistance de Serafina. Elle a aussi des duels verbaux avec Remo vraiment intéressants.
Cependant, j'ai été bien plus captivée par la deuxième partie du livre. Mon cœur s'est complètement brisé pour Serafina et je ne savais pas comment l'histoire allait évoluer. Encore une fois, c'est son courage et sa force qui sont mis en avant. La famille Falcone est toujours un gros coup de cœur et j'adore l'énergie chaotique de leur famille, mais surtout leur solidarité. Cette histoire permet également de mettre en avant l'évolution de Kiara au milieu des frères et j'ai adoré son lien avec Remo.
Clairement, j'aime tellement cette famille que je serai capable de lire 1000 pages avec uniquement des scènes domestiques entre eux. Greta et Nevio m'ont fait chavirer et j'ai vraiment hâte de les voir évoluer. C'est une histoire très intéressante et j'ai apprécié mieux comprendre Remo.

Dans les précédents livres, je n'avais pas pu me faire un avis sur Nino puisqu'il est insondable d'un point de vue extérieur. Je ne m'attendais pas à trouver autant de bienveillance et de patience dans ce personnage. Je l'ai aimé de la dernière à la dernière page et c'est également le cas de Kiara. Je ne voulais même pas les quitter à la fin du livre tellement leur histoire m'a touché.
Ils ont une dynamique vraiment intéressante et c'est l'une des relations les plus saines qui a été développée depuis le début de l'univers. En plus de ça, je suis tombée sous le charme de la famille Falcone. Je ne pensais pas que ce serait possible et pourtant leur dynamique et la force de leur fraternité est incroyable. J'ai particulièrement aimé à quel point chaque personnage est présent pour Kiara tout au long de l'histoire ainsi que le fait que le livre se concentre principalement sur la reconstruction psychologique de la jeune fille.
Finalement, moi qui attendais depuis le départ que les différentes familles fassent enfin un pas vers l'autre, j'ai beaucoup apprécié les moments où les Falcone étaient réunis avec les Vitiello. Si ça continue comme ça, je pense fortement que la famille de Las Vegas va passer devant celle de New York dans mon cœur.

C’était un garçon très doux et sensible et je ressentais déjà beaucoup de peine pour lui en imaginant l’homme qu’il allait être obligé de devenir. Et effectivement, ça n’a pas manqué puisqu’il n’a plus rien à voir avec celui que l’on appris à connaître.
D’ailleurs, j’ai eu un peu de mal au départ avec son manque d’émotions, notamment vis à vis de sa famille. Je n’ai pas forcément compris sa colère envers les Vitiello alors qu’Aria et Luca étaient prêts à le prendre avec eux à New York et qu’il est celui qui a refusé.
Par contre, j’ai adoré sa relation avec Leona. Celle-ci change pas mal des héroïnes que l’on avait connu jusque là. Elle a une histoire personnelle très compliquée et je me suis beaucoup attachée à elle, malgré sa naïveté parfois volontaire.
Je ne savais vraiment pas comment l’histoire se finirait et j’ai été ravie de voir de l’action. Après m’être attachée à La Famiglia, puis à l’Outfit, je commence à m’attacher aux Camorra, et j’espère qu’ils feront tous la paix un jour parce que cœur souffre et je les veux tous copains ...more

J'ai été assez surprise de voir que le livre retournait assez loin dans le passé et j'ai un avis mitigé dessus.
D'un côté, il était nécessaire de revenir dessus puisque certaines décisions impactent grandement leur relation. En plus de ça, il y a beaucoup de moments inédits et de déclarations incroyables que j'ai adorés. Cependant, ce choix créait parfois des longueurs puisque l'on revient sur le tome 3, 4 et 5, parfois pendant un moment, sans nouvelle valeur ajoutée alors que j'avais vraiment envie que l'histoire avance au-delà du dernier tome. En plus, après la fin du tome sur Lily et Romero, je m'attendais à une immense guerre et en fait pas vraiment ?
Ensuite, la relation de Luca et Aria connaît pas mal de haut et de bas. Au départ, j'ai réellement été surprise de leur communication et de la facilité qu'ils ont à mettre les choses derrière eux (notamment les choix irréfléchis d'Aria). Sauf que cette communication disparaît totalement par la suite, ce qui provoque de la souffrance à la fois pour les personnages, mais aussi pour le lecteur (si vous saviez à quel point j'ai insulté les personnages, surtout Luca).
Et pourtant, malgré tous ses défauts, ce livre a fait battre mon cœur comme jamais. J'ai détesté la tension mais j'ai absolument adoré tous les moments plus calmes, les moments familiaux, les moments tendres et les moments joyeux. Rien que pour ça, c'est un quatre étoiles pour moi.

Finalement, l'histoire a fini par prendre sens.
Par contre, le début du livre est assez tendu pour moi. La relation entre les personnages commence mal et le consentement n'est pas clair du tout. Il y a une scène qui n'aurait clairement pas dû faire partie de l'histoire. Ce qui m'embête c'est que le développement de la relation Growl/Cara est vraiment intéressant par la suite. J'ai détesté le début et j'ai adoré la fin.
En plus de ça, les chiens Coco et Bandit étaient tous simplement adorables et ont fait battre mon cœur (parfois plus que les personnages). De manière plus globale, j'ai trouvé que l'histoire était vraiment plus sombre, ce qui changeait des tomes précédents.

D'ailleurs, j'ai déjà mal au cœur pour lui en essayant d'imaginer l'homme qu'il va devenir.
Encore une fois, le livre possède une partie action vraiment intéressante qui dynamise le tout. J'ai trouvé la dynamique entre Romero et Lily très pure. Les sentiments se développent sur des années et leur relation m'a beaucoup touché. Je déteste tellement le père Scuderi pour tous ses choix cruels et le mal qui continue d'infliger à ses enfants (pitié que quelqu'un lui tire une balle dans la tête avant la fin de la saga).
Pour finir, mention spéciale à l'humour de Matteo qui permet de rendre plus légères certaines situations de crise.

J'avais hâte de découvrir l'histoire de Dante et Valentina et celle-ci a pratiquement frôlé le coup de cœur ! J'ai adoré leur personnalité ainsi que leur histoire. Même si l'on est encore dans un mariage arrangé, leur dynamique est totalement différente de celle d'Aria et Luca et je n'ai pas eu l'impression de relire la même histoire.
Leur relation m'a beaucoup touché, notamment le côté solitaire de Dante, même s'il est parfois difficilement compréhensible. D'ailleurs cette distance crée quelques petites longueurs puisque c'est un problème récurrent dans le livre.
En dehors de ça, j'ai été particulièrement impressionnée par l'histoire qui traite de la position de la femme, de l'homosexualité et de la violence conjugale au sein de la mafia. Contrairement à d'autres livres qui justifient ces comportements par le contexte de la mafia, les personnages ont de vraies conversations et condamnent ces abus, même si leurs actions demeurent limitées dans une société fondée sur des valeurs hyper patriarcales. J'ai rarement vu ce développement dans des livres du genre et je trouvais important de le souligner.
Comme pour le premier tome, l'histoire a une part d'action qui m'a tenu en haleine jusqu'au bout et je ne pouvais plus lâcher le livre. Contrairement à Aria et Luca, l'histoire de Dante et Valentina avait un excellent développement et une fois arrivée à la dernière page, j'ai vraiment eu l'impression d'avoir fait le tour et de ne plus rien avoir à explorer en plus. J'ai également vu que là encore, le couple avait droit à un second livre par la suite et pour le coup, je n'ai strictement aucune idée de la direction que peut prendre leur histoire, mais j'ai vraiment hâte.
