Il y a de l'action tout le long, ce qui crée un récit hyper dynamique et vivant. La relation entre les personnages est également très intéressante. En effet, on n'oublie pas la relation passé et les sentiments. L’attirance de Lara et Aren est toujours présente, mais Aren ne pardonne pas en quelques lignes à peine, chose que j'ai vraiment apprécié. La confiance met du temps à se reconstruire et ça change de d’habitude.
Ensuite j’ai adoré le changement d’univers. Là où le premier tome se concentre sur les îles, la jungle, les tempêtes de pluie et l’humidité, ici on évolue énormément au milieu du désert dans un climat sec et aride. On a alors un changement de force entre Aren et Lara qui est très intéressant.
J'ai passé un excellent moment de lecture, mais j'ai trouvé la fin brutale et j'aurais aimé un ou deux chapitres en plus.

L'histoire met également en avant des sujets très intéressants tels que le deuil et la poursuite de ses rêves. J'ai d'ailleurs été très émue, au point de laisser filer quelques larmes.

La romance est très belle et on est sur un second chance / friend's siblings qui est très bien maîtrisé. Il y avait quelques longueurs, mais qui ne m'ont pas spécialement dérangé. Kinsley m'a énormément touché et j'avais mal au cœur pour tous les personnages.

Cependant, cette histoire aborde énormément de thèmes très durs (attention aux TW !!) et l'on voit l'impact émotionnel que ça provoque chez les personnages. Par contre, j'ai trouvé ces éléments cruels, existant uniquement pour les faire souffrir, mais il n'y avait pas de développement par la suite. Les personnages restent bloqués dessus et quand on pourrait enfin voir un début de reconstruction, c'est la fin du livre et on se retrouve x années plus tard.
J'ai beaucoup aimé les personnalités de Josh et Delia et ils avaient une bonne alchimie. Cependant, tous les dramas entre eux m'ont empêché d'adhérer pleinement à leur histoire.

Quant à Monsieur, c'est juste un énorme red flag ambulant. Je ne compte même plus les mauvaises décisions qu'il a prises et je ne comprends pas comment Milene accepte tout ça sans broncher.

Par contre, leur relation m'a déstabilisé puisque j'ai trouvé que l'on passait du tout ou rien en quelques lignes. Un coup, il la déteste, puis il l'aime, avant de la re détester. Idem, un coup la relation est fausse, puis vraie, mais temporaire.

Par contre, il y avait beaucoup trop de scènes de sexe qui prenaient de la place pour rien. Luca et Isabella ont aussi des kinks assez particuliers, et je dois dire que certaines scènes m'ont laissé perplexes.
En général, je ne suis pas du tout fan du memory loss, mais ici, l'autrice est parvenue à créer une dynamique assez intéressante. Il y a pas mal de pistes à explorer, notamment avec les anciens coéquipiers de Sergei et j'aimerais beaucoup voir un spin-off sur eux.
Jusque-là, chaque livre mettait en avant un handicap et comme je l'ai déjà dit dans ma chronique du premier tome, c'est vraiment hyper intéressant de voir de la représentation dans des romances mafias. C'est d'ailleurs la première fois où je lis une saga dans laquelle cette représentation occupe une part si importante dans chaque livre. Cette fois, on traite des troubles du stress post-traumatique et ça ajoute un côté très intéressant à l'histoire.

En plus, l'histoire manque de réalisme. Blake sort de nulle part et fait déjà des podiums, tandis que l'écurie est dans sa première année de vie, mais a déjà les moyens de produire la voiture la plus rapide du plateau. Certaines situations sont les scènes typiques de l'on peut trouver dans les pov tiktoks ou dans des fanfictions wattpad très basiques.
Concernant la relation entre les personnages, c'était mignon, mais beaucoup trop rapide et là aussi trop facile. L'histoire avait du potentiel, mais mal exploitée. Les personnages secondaires étaient intéressants, mais je ne suis pas sûre de continuer la saga.

Le livre est assez court, ce qui fait que le rythme est assez rapide et pourtant, ça ne m’a pas dérangé. J’ai trouvé les personnes hyper attachants, autant les principaux que les secondaires. Il y a un côté found family vraiment très fort et j’ai déjà hâte de découvrir les histoires de tous les membres de ce groupe.

Par le passé, j'ai souvent été déçue de la manière dont ces personnages sont écrits et j'ai du mal à retrouver leur personnalité que j'ai tant aimé.
C'est sans doute pour cette raison que j'ai attendu aussi longtemps avant de me lancer dans ce premier tome. Mon amour premier reste les Falcone, mais je suis également très attachée aux Vitiellos et j'ai ressenti énormément de bonheur de les retrouver. Contrairement à ce que je craignais, Aria et Luca sont très bien écrits. On ressent encore leur amour et leur connexion après toutes ces années et ce sont de très bons parents. D'ailleurs, je ne pensais pas que Luca serait autant dans la communication et dans la compréhension vis-à-vis de ses enfants et ça a été très agréable.
Concernant l'intrigue, je ne suis pas fan du trope kidnapping. Cependant, j'ai trouvé que c'était bien maitrisé et j'ai aimé que cette fois, on se penche sur le cas des bikers. Marcella est un personnage très froid et distant, mais au cœur énorme. Je l'ai trouvé vraiment attachante et j'ai absolument adoré sa force de caractère, ainsi que l'amour inconditionnel qu'elle porte à sa famille. Maddox est une très bonne découverte et j'ai trouvé leur relation hyper intéressante, d'autant plus que je ne m'attendais pas à cette tournure. Finalement, c'est un premier tome réussi et j'ai hâte de lire la suite.

J'ai eu du mal à avancer dans l'histoire. Comme je le craignais, l'intrigue est très dense, il y a énormément d'informations et de révélations et il faut s'accrocher. Il y a aussi des moments de lenteurs, notamment dans la première partie. J'ai souvent eu l'impression de faire du surplace et de ne jamais arriver au bout du livre.
Par contre, les personnages sont vraiment la force de ce livre. Les liens entre eux sont incroyables et je les aime tous d'un amour fou. Lidia est le personnage avec le développement le plus intéressant et pour moi, c'est totalement elle qui porte ce livre sur son dos ! J'adore sa relation avec Ruhn depuis le dernier livre et j'ai adoré leur dynamique ici.
Bryce et Hunt sont toujours des coups de cœur et je trouve que l'on développe des points intéressants de leur relation dans ce nouveau tome. Le retour d'une partie du Inner Circle m'a absolument comblé de joie et j'ai été ravie de les revoir (même si j'aurais aimé tous les voir, en particulier Nyx). J'adore les crossovers entre les sagas, encore plus lorsque ce sont des sagas et des personnages qui ont autant compté pour moi.
Par contre, j'ai été vraiment très étonnée de la fin puisque j'étais persuadée qu'il y aurait d'autres livres après celui-ci, mais la fin a l'air d'être une vraie fin. En dehors de quelques points d'interrogations qui demeurent sur certains personnages, les histoires de la majorité d'entre eux sont bouclées et je ne vois pas comment on pourrait développer un nouveau livre après ça. Du coup, je ne m'attendais pas du tout à devoir leur dire au revoir de manière définitive et ça m'a brisé le cœur.
J'avais lu le premier tome pendant le confinement en mars 2020 alors que le monde entier était à l'arrêt. Les personnages m'avaient permis de m'évader mentalement et ont pris une place particulière dans mon cœur. Il est un soutien très fort pour Rose et j'ai adoré voir leur relation renaître, ainsi que leurs moments de complicité. J'aime Adrian de tout mon cœur et j'ai eu énormément de peine pour lui. La représentation du handicap visible et invisible apporte beaucoup à l'histoire, ainsi que les PTSD et l’anxiété.
