This book! I read Sunday Morning in less than 24 "We were either the bad kind of right or the good kind of wrong. It was hard to distinguish the two."
This book! I read Sunday Morning in less than 24 hours. It was addictive, entertaining, angsty, swoony, and I could not put it down! Jewel E. Ann packs a punch with this story about a preacher's daughter and the two brothers she is torn between.
Sweet, good girl Sarah is weeks away from her high school graduation when her boyfriend Matt's older brother, Isaac, returns to their small town after serving in the military for the past six years. It's Easter Sunday when Sarah sees bad boy Isaac again, and it sparks something in her that she hasn't felt in her comfortable romance with Matt. And Sarah hates the way Isaac (aka Satan) makes her feel, especially when he calls her "Sunday Morning."
While nothing happens between Sarah and Isaac until after she's broken up with Matt, this story still has all the forbidden vibes. They keep their relationship a secret at first because both sets of parents expect Sarah and Matt to marry, and Sarah has so much guilt tied up in "doing the right thing" by her family. As the oldest daughter, so much is resting on her shoulders and is expected of her. It's refreshing that Isaac sees Sarah for the young woman she is and not the person she presents to the world because that's who she thinks she is supposed to be.
I loved watching Sarah blossom into who she is while with Isaac. There is so much tension between them leading up to them finally getting together, and I was shipping this couple hard. Isaac has quite a reputation around their small town, and Sunday Morning is a wonderful reminder that you shouldn't always believe the gossip. I have to admit, the revelation about Isaac's past caught me by surprise in the best way!
There are only a handful of chapters from Isaac's POV, and those were my favorite! I loved getting inside his head --finally! -- after seeing so much of their relationship develop from Sarah's POV. He didn't want to fall in love with his little brother's girlfriend, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
There is a TW of loss/car accident. I did appreciate that there is no cheating. And this book is set in the 80s -- I LOVED the playlist and how fitting the song titles at the top of each chapter fit what happens in the following pages.
Sunday Morning was a beautiful, heartfelt story! And I can't wait to see what the rest of this series brings! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review....more

He is instantly attracted to her, but believing that her mom is a golddigger, he makes it his mission to taunt, tease, and humiliate Leslie during the summer they live together before going off to college. But one night, Mason realizes, 'Hey, I'm actually in love with her' and then sets out to do whatever he can to make Leslie his.
And that involves a lot. LOL
Butterfly is a quick and very spicy read. Forbidden, maybe, but it's not like Leslie and Mason were raised together. They didn't even know one another before the wedding. But Mason is borderline stalker as he sets out to claim Leslie. He does some dubious things, but you kind of have to let that go! Meanwhile, Leslie is a spitfire and gives it back just as well. At first, she hates herself for wanting her stepbrother, but she gets over that rather quickly LOL

This story is one that really makes you think about the cause and effect of every decision you make, the reacion to every action, and how warped and wrong perceptions can be.
I'm not going to bother with a summary of the plot; there are plenty of other reviews that will do that. But I will say that Holden and Michaela's story is far from your typical romance. Depsite the fact that they are from opposite sides of the tracks, these two broken souls cry out for one another, and heal one another so beautifully. My heart ached for Holden so many times over. He lost so much. And Michaela surprised me in so many ways. What you see is not always what you get. In many ways, she's just as much a victim of the rich who run Tranquill Falls as Holden is, even though Michaela is one of them. And that fact, combined with what she does to save and protect Holden, honestly, is what saved her in my mind as being good enough for him. Because at first, I was having a very hard time wrapping my head around how or why these two were going to work as a couple.
The surpising twist that this book takes tore me up. It was not something I expected to happen. This gut-wrenching story went above and beyond the heartache I was expecting. This plot is so unique, so unlike anything else that I've read in the past. Give this book a chance. It will give you a lot to think and mull over, and you, too, will fall in love with Holden crazy, madly, deeply.

Unputdownable! Grumpy, tatted bad boy is really a gushing romantic? Yes, please!
I read The Lie in a single night because I just could not tear myself Unputdownable! Grumpy, tatted bad boy is really a gushing romantic? Yes, please!
I read The Lie in a single night because I just could not tear myself away from Faith and Dominic! The Lie is set in the Washington Wolves world, and is another next-generation book like the Ward Sisters series. Faith is the daughter of Luke Pierson and Allie Sutton Pierson from The Bombshell Effect, the book that started this world. I loved getting to see Luke and Allie all grown up and happily married!
But back to Faith and Dominic. They clash immediately. He's grumpy, has a bad attitude, and a reputation for being a troublemaker. She's sunshine and rainbows, and he hates her on sight. Yes, Faith is privileged, but she's also a super hard worker, and busts her butt working for the philanthropic foundation her stepmom Allie had started years ago. So when Allie has Faith "babysitting" Dominic while he does some community service after a mess-up at the stadium, neither of them are very happy to be spending forced time with the other.
But oh, how things change! Something clicks for Dominic and makes him realize that he was completely wrong about Faith. And though she's got whiplash from his 180, she soon realizes that he's really a big old softy with an incredibly generous heart -- even if he doesn't show it often to people. But even though Dominic lets his walls crumble down around Faith, there is one huge secret left between them, and his lie of omission could ruin everything they are building together.
How I loved this story! The Lie checks all the boxes for a feel-good romance, and I absolutely devoured it. The banter between Dominic and Faith is amazing. I totally fell for this couple as they went from hating one another to falling head over heels. I cried during the breakup, and then cried again when Dominic worked on his own issues to win Faith back.

Pope -- aka Courtland Pope -- is the president of a MC (but Jessica Prince said that this won't necessarily be a MC series). Lennon is new to town, having recently gotten divorced, and they have a hot one-night-stand her first night in town. They cross paths again several weeks later when Pope arrives at Lennon's school to pick up his niece.
I liked this book, but I didn't *love* it. I struggled a bit with Pope and Lennon falling hard and fast, because I didn't feel it. There is a connection between them, sure. And there's lots of spicy scenes. But I didn't get that sense of head-over-heels-love between them. Despite that, I did enjoy the alpha male vibe that Pope gives off, and how he's a good guy who has done some questionable things to protect the people he loves.
Overall, I thought Dead to Rights was a fun read, and I look forward to what comes next in the Ashland series!

I love the twists that his story took with how his life imploded and the manipulation by his ex. Cross Crease had a lot of potential... but it ultimately fell flat for me. I didn’t like the jumping around in timelines; it didn’t flow seamlessly from last to present. I hated that Haven just sat around waiting for D while he slept his way through half the hockey fans in the world. And his complete turnaround when it came to his feelings for her came out of nowhere. I felt like a chapter was missing from his POV there. And even once they got together, there was an incident that I think they both could have handled better.
If you like a lot of sex, once D gives in and takes Haven’s V-card, there is lots of it. Unfortunately for me, I felt there was little else holding these two together.

While some of the other books have dealt with more serious topics (miscarriage, loss, etc.), Just Roommates is a much more light-hearted read.
Sierra has always had a crush on local bartender Maliki, the Blue Beech bachelor. Even though he constantly kicks her out of his bar, the two eventually strike up a friendship. As time goes on, Maliki begins to grow attracted to her, but he's a perpetual bachelor who doesn't do commitments, and Sierra wants marriage and a relationship. Oh, and despite the flirting, she's got a boyfriend.
After years spent in the friend zone, they remain best friends until the day that Sierra's three-month-old marriage goes bust and Maliki offers her his extra bedroom. And then everything changes. Now that she's no longer involved, will Maliki make a move? Could she be the one who makes him want to be in a relationship? Will they remain just roommates?
This was a slow-burn, scorching story full of laugh-out-loud moments. Even though he doubted his ability to be a boyfriend, Maliki is a pretty perfect one by the end. Just Roommates is a fantastic addition to the Blue Beech series.

Even though Ryder is best friends with her brother, Cody, he and Dakota have always had a friendship and connection of their own. And they have both secretly been in love with one another for years. But she believes he sees her as nothing more than Cody's little sister, and he believes he's tainted due to his past transgressions and isn't good enough for her. And of course, Cody has forbidden Ryder from going anywhere near his sister. But when Dakota and her young son Kayden are in danger, Ryder takes them in, and the sexual tension between the two of them reaches an all-new high.
I loved watching these two dance around each other. I loved how easily they cohabitate together, and how utterly devoted Ryder was as "uncle" to little Kayden. But while things were easy inside their bubble, there were forces working against them, particularly Ryder's past. I loved how Jackson weaves together suspense and romance in her stories. Dakota and Ryder's story is full of twists and turns, and it's not an easy road for these two. And I was completely captivated by the journey!

At only Zane is a quick, no-drama romance between a quirky, curvy heroine and her tattoo-artist best friend, who has been in love with her for years. I thought the character of Zane was a little underdeveloped and not as well-rounded as Emmie's. But oh, I loved how patient, sweet, and kind he was with Emmaline. Emmie is on the autism spectrum, and I thought that Kat Baxter did a great job of incorporating those quirks into the character development and the romance that unfolded between the two.
This book is from a "bad boys" series, but I didn't really think Zane is a "bad boy" aside from his physical appearance of tattoos and piercings. He was actually a pretty great, nice, sweet, guy, who is utterly devoted to Emmie.

Marley and Silas were definitely the quintessential good girl/bad boy combo -- the pastor's daughter gets knocked up by the manwhore rockstar from a one night stand. Things do not go well when Marley shows up to tell him that she's pregnant, but Silas eventually does right by her. And a genuine friendship forms between them that then turns romantic.
But I just never felt that *sizzle* that I wanted to between Marley and Silas. And when things between them fell apart toward the end of the story, I felt like it was a bit disjointed and then very rushed when they reunited. I just wanted more from these characters and the story, and I felt like it was a letdown.

Matthew and Charlotte's story is short and steamy but full of so much heart. Charlotte comes to Montana from the big city of St. Louis to open up a branch of her father's banking empire. She's a high society girl, raised to be prim and proper, but feels utterly suffocated by the expectations that her parents have for her. From the first time she sees bad boy Matthew Bailey on his motorcycle, Charlotte is absolutely smitten. She's hoping that being in Chikalu Falls will give her the opportunity to spread her wings and figure out who she is outside of being "Charlotte Perry of the Perrys" -- and her romance with Matthew helps her do exactly that.
Matthew's had a rough life -- his mom died, his father is an alcoholic -- and it's hard to escape that kind of shadow when you live in a small town. But while Matthew may be all rough and tumble on the outside, he's an absolute gentleman when it comes to Charlotte. He's kind, respectful, considerate — and for the first time in his life, in Charlotte, he has found someone who sees him for him. Not as the son of the town drunk.
But Matthew and Lottie come from such different worlds, and he feels like he needs to make a drastic change to his life in order to be worthy of her. Will Matthew learn that Charlotte doesn't need anything more than him before it's too late?
This sweet story is a great book to binge in a single sitting. It's short and sweet, but oh-so-sexy!...more

I read this book in a day because it was one of those stories that I just had to keep reading “one more chapter” — and the next thing I knew, it was 1 am.
This story is definitely not sunshine and rainbows. It’s dark and gritty, and Macon does some despicable things. Not that it’s an excuse for his behavior, but the dude has some serious demons.
The push and pull between these two drove me crazy, which I’m sure was Benson’s intention. Two steps forward, five steps back. Mostly because Macon is such a broken hero… and don’t we all secretly love that? I felt every emotion that these two went through. How conflicted Lennon was about her feelings for Macon, how he struggles with falling for his sister's best friend when he shouldn’t. I felt so much for these two with the life twist that affects them just when things are going well and the betrayal that follows. So much angst and family drama wrapped up in a slow-burn romance!
UPDATE FOR AUDIO: JF Harding and Lidia Dornet did a great job in telling Macon and Lennon's story. This was the second book I've listened to by JF (the first being Meghan Quinn's A Long Time Coming) and he is moving to the top of my favorite male narrators list!)
There are trigger warnings that Benson lays out for the readers, so beware that this story deals with some sensitive subjects. And that ending was a fabulous cliffhanger to set up the rest of this duet!

Seven books into this series, and I still look forward to the next couple when a new one comes out!
Wilson isn’t the guy that the media makes him out to be, and I loved that soft side that Franny brings out of him. She is a great heroine, strong, sure of what she wants… neither of them do relationships so of course that is exactly what this one night stand evolves into. But will two people who have shucked off love be able to navigate it successfully?
As with some of the other books in this series, the previous characters cross over, which is a great nod for longtime NM readers. Especially with all the crazy that goes along with Franny and Brad’s families.

Wow. This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. It's told in two parts: the end of high school and then the summer after Dia's freshman year of college. The book starts where IHY left off after Dia is sent Finn's sex tape. And while they work through that road bump in their relationship, a much, much bigger obstacle is thrown their way a few weeks later. Faced with the demons of his past and panicked about his future, Finn takes off without a trace.
A year later, Dia is dating someone new when Finn resurfaces. And she is not happy to see him. He abandoned her. (Or so she thought!) Will she give Finn the opportunity to explain what happened and prove to her that he really has changed?
I have to admit, the Finn in this book is not the cocky teen that we met in IHY. This really is a redemption story. He's done the work on improving himself, and his pain really comes across in the regret he has for what happened the night of the accident and how he lost Dia. For her part, Dia does not make it easy for him when it comes to winning her back. It's a rocky road, but a lovely journey as these two find a way to forgive themselves for their individual pasts and forge a new future together.
There is also some family fallout with both of their parents that are handled well in this book as well, so the story goes beyond just Finn and Dia's reconnection. For those who previously read Dear Heart, I Love You, there's a sweet continuation of Xavier and Aveena's storyline as well.

They have a shared past that is messy and full of scandal, and the line between love and hate is very fine for these two stars.
Without rehashing the plot of this book, I really felt for Jo. She's been labeled a villain in Hollywood but that is really so far from the truth. My heart broke for her, and all she'd been through, and how she craved safety and quiet. And never got it. Tristan, meanwhile, is trying to be his own person but forever being followed by the shadow of his late father, an iconic Oscar winner. There is a lot of messy emotion between Tristan and Jo as they work on making a movie together and forge a tentative friendship... and eventually, become more.
However, I felt that a lot of this book was disjointed. It didn't flow as well as I would have liked it to. I think the flashbacks to the past would have served the story better if they were chapters on their own rather than within a present-day chapter. Also, I felt that there was a backstory to both of these characters that I didn't get the full scope of, and I'm wondering if that's because they both previously appeared in books from the author's back catalog? I'm sure having read those books would have been beneficial, and I definitely felt like I was missing pieces to Jo and Tristan's story.
In the end, I Like You, I Hate Her had a satisfying HEA that made me smile, knowing that Jo and Tristan made it through the mess and found their own version of paradise together.

Trent and Eden's story started out a bit slow for me, to be honest... But then it sucked me in and HOLY COW was this sizzling. The Trent we meet in the first few chapters is not the same guy who closes out this book. His journey was remarkable, and there was so much growth with this character. He is fiercely protective of his son and brothers, and had no plans to add to his inner circle. But sweet Eden was the last person he ever expected to enter his life, and by the end, he couldn't imagine his life without her in it.
Go into this book not knowing much about it. It's worth it. There are twists and turns, and an element of suspense, and it all comes together SO MARVELOUSLY! But it's also part of a series that follows a group of popular boys in Clermont Bay.
I felt like it was a slow start for me, because I had not read the previous two books in the Clermont Bay series. The book opens at a party, and I felt like I was starting to read mid-scene rather than at the start of a new book because connections between the characters weren't spelled out the way I would have expected them to be. So it took me a while to get a grip on who all the characters are, and then I finally got into Allie and Carson's story itself.
This enemies to lovers/childhood best friends/second chance romance was quite the rollercoaster. I hated Carson so much at times, but yet loved the rare vulnerability he showed with Allie. There is a lot of history between them, which is the root of most of their drama and all the tension. So much tension!
And just as Carson is finally giving in to what he realized he'd wanted all along, things blow up spectacularly with an epic cliffhanger scene. I knew the reveal of how he'd betrayed Allie was coming, and yet my heart broke for them both when it actually happened! I can't wait to see how this story concludes!
BTW, This cover is so hot! Whoever this model is, he nails Carson's sexy smolder in this cover photo!!

Brett is the swinging single drummer, famous for his love 'em and leave 'em one night stands. One of those nights catches up with him when he discovers that not only does he have a baby, but the kid's mother is dying. Hannah's sister was in a horrible accident, leaving her at the end of her rope and not knowing what to do other than reach out to Brett. Who she hates, simply because he slept with her sister and knocked her up. Brie's death turns Brett's life upside down as much as it does Hannah's. Brett never wanted kids (he didn't have the best relationship with his parents), but he stands up and does the right thing where Hannah and little Chance are concerned.
Knowing that it's time for him to step up, Brett invites Hannah and Chance on tour with the band, so she can be Chance's nanny and he can get to know his son. Along the way, while trapped together on a tour bus and in hotel rooms, Brett and Hannah start falling for one another. But will Brett sabotage what they have before they even get started?
I loved the connection between Brett and Hannah -- their relationship is a nice slow burn that starts off with a reluctant friendship of sorts. I also really loved the growth that Brett showed from start to finish. He went from only being able to call Chance "the kid" to really being a father to the little boy.
