This is a dark sapphic retelling of Medusa and I'm so obsessed with the romance! I couldn't put this book down as soon as I started Soooooo goooood!!!
This is a dark sapphic retelling of Medusa and I'm so obsessed with the romance! I couldn't put this book down as soon as I started reading it. I fell in love with Lex and Luna and their dark, angsty, emotional romance. Lex and her trauma broke my heart, but the way Giana Darling was able to stitch it back up? Priceless.
Lex is on scholarship at her dream school: Acheron University. She’s a brilliant student and she catches the eye of a prominent professor, who becomes her mentor. Tragically, he takes advantage of her one night, assaults her, and leaves her body and soul broken. But this isn’t the end for Lex, because she rises out of the ashes of her trauma to seek revenge against the man who hurt her - and the university president who didn’t believe her.
Luna is Acheron University’s golden girl. She’s a top athlete, has the perfect boyfriend, and is the daughter of the school president. She’s doesn’t know why Lex enters her life, but once she does, Luna can’t stop thinking about her. From the very beginning, Lex and Luna feel this insane chemistry that leaps off the pages. I was addicted to their romance and I couldn’t get enough of it! I had to know where Lex would take her revenge and how far she would go.
I love the fact that this book is bigger than just the romance. Not to say the romance isn’t good, because it’s beautifully done, but Giana Darling did an unbelievable job with weaving in that this book is also about victims of assault and giving them justice and a voice.
This is absolutely a must read if you love Giana Darling or dark romance in general. It’s gut wrenching and powerful, and I loved it so much.
*TW for sexual assault. It happens on page in ch.2 and can be skipped....more
I never knew I need a why choose dragon shifter romance until now.
I had so much fun reading this first book in the Dragons of Ember Hollow trilogy! ItI never knew I need a why choose dragon shifter romance until now.
I had so much fun reading this first book in the Dragons of Ember Hollow trilogy! It follows Hayden and her 5 heroes, her dragon shifter fated mates. She just has no idea they're dragon shifters or about the paranormal world. She's a regular college student who comes across the star football player, who instantly recognizes what she is, and what she means to him and his family.
I loved Hayden's character and how her eyes are slowly opened to all the magic in her world. And of course, I fell in love with her heroes! Well, mostly. We have Knox, the golden retriever football star; Maddox, Hayden's forbidden professor who’s 10 years older; Easton, Knox’s twin and an asshole jerk; Killian, the billionaire nightclub owner who is hawttt and possessive; and Cael, the broken, damaged hero who can’t stand to be touched by anyone but his fated mate.
If you couldn't tell, Killian is my favorite of the 5 so far, and I still haven't warmed up to Easton. But I'm excited to see where the rest of this series takes us! The cliffhanger is a killer one, so if you're not a fan of those, I'd recommend waiting until the entire series has released. Thankfully they're only a few months away!...more

I finally got to reading CE Ricci with Iced Out, and it was such a fun M/M college hockey romance! It's hot, exciting, and if you love enemies to loveI finally got to reading CE Ricci with Iced Out, and it was such a fun M/M college hockey romance! It's hot, exciting, and if you love enemies to lovers, you need to read this book.
Quinton hates Oakley because he thinks Oakley has been handed everything as a hockey player legacy. Oakley hates Quinton because of his terrible attitude towards not just Oakley, but to everyone, and he constantly gets into fights and arguments. But for the past four years of college, they’ve had to put aside their differences and play on the same college team. Unfortunately, they don’t put aside their differences enough, because the way they act off the ice affects how well they play together, which is... terribly.
But then one night at a party, Quinton and Oakley end up hooking up. They win their game the next day and they realize that them having sex is the reason why they won and now they HAVE to hook up before every game now. They’re SO horny for each other, it’s kind of shocking they never got caught. It’s a hot enemies with benefits relationship, but it was so sweet how the enemies relationship slowly developed into one with genuine feelings and love.
The only thing that dragged was the middle because it didn’t seem like there was anything going on but sex. We barely got to see a hockey game again until the end. And the ending was predictable and cheesy, but I forgive it because of how cute the main characters are together. It was so sweet how Quinn used to be the tough guy who hit first, asked questions later, but thanks to Oakley, he learns to calm himself down and not get so heated. And then Oakley used to be a stickler for rules, but after being with Quinn, he’s a lot more relaxed and spontaneous. They were perfect together!...more
