Read 3 times. Last read September 6, 2020 to September 8, 2020.

Read for the third time for my YA class in grad school! I've read it twice before - once on my own in 2014 and once for my undergrad YA lit class in 2017. Despite knowing what I was getting going in, the novel still holds up, and I can't wait to examine it more deeply in class!

Tori Darland This is one of my favorite books of all time. I had to read it for school when I was in middle school. I have reread the book every single year. I read a bunch of times the summer before high school, I remember one time that I read, and it only took me 8 hours to Finnish. This book is a movie, and one of the only movies that is just like the book. I thought it was sad that Johnny and Dally died. I feel like if Johnny didn’t die, Dally would have been alive at the end of the book.

TraceyL I find it strange that this is part of a university reading list. Everyone I know (in Canada) had to read it in 7th or 8th grade.

Tori Darland It is one of my favorite books of all time. I had to read it in 8th grade, that is when I fell in the with the book. I think I have read it a total of around 30 times. After I read it because I had time, the summer before I started high school I think I read it 6 or 7 times, I read it every year. I also love the movie.

Danny I don't know what is more exciting: This book prodded through in a grad program or a YA class being offered in a grad program. I hope it went well!
