I promise to never judge a book by its cover again. I thought it'd be some horror, splatter, vampire, crime thing, but it wasn't at all (I didn't read the blurb before starting it, so I had no clue what I got myself into). This was one of the best books (maybe the best book, at least close to perfect as it can get.) I have read so far. I loved all the main characters in there, all well written, the awesome chemistry between Elena and Maddie, the funny moments where I laughed out loud while reading and the interesting plot. I'd give it 6 stars if I had the possibility. It feels like losing friends now that I'm finished. Oscar, come on, let's go ;)

Nice to be surprised! But odds on the book would be written well with Winter. Just might not be your favorite subject matter. Personally I have to read the synopsis and maybe one or two reviews if I can avoid spoilers. May you be pleasantly surprised more often!

Nice review! I have to agree with Luce. If Winter wrote it, it'll be worth the read:)
The book cover does have a vampirish quality. I knew what it was about but that did cross my mind. They made her luminescent pale white with bright red.

But sometimes there are books that people rate extremely high and I just think WTF after reading it. Maybe I should embrace the unknown and just start reading ;)
